25. Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving Prayer of the aged Simeon, after taking the infant Jesus in his arms:Luke 2:29-32 Now lettest Thou Thy servant depart, Master, According to Thy word, in peace: For mine eyes have seen Thy salvation, Which Thou hast prepared before the face of all peoples— A light for revelation to the Gentiles, And the glory of Thy people Israel. The Pharisee’s prayer:Luke 18:11-12
God, I thank Thee that I am not as the rest of men, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I get.
