30. Israel's Murmuring

Israel was about to rebel by refusing to enter Canaan and claim it as their possession.  They were persuaded by the negative report of the ten spies.  Caleb and Joshua pleaded with them in Numbers 14:9 :

"Only rebel not ye against the LORD, neither fear ye the people of the land; for they are bread for us; their defense is departed from them, and the LORD is with us: fear them not."

Why plead with them to rebel not if they had no free will to rebel with?  Here, again, man stands responsible for his decisions by his own free will and choice.

Satan is very pleased with his success in attacking the character of God by falsely accusing Him of choosing, or electing some for Heaven and some for Hell. God shouts from Heaven by His Word, the Bible. "Read John 8:44, where I told you Satan is a murderer and a liar!" God refutes Satan's lies as He states in 2 Peter 3:9 that He is "...not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance (i.e., Gr. "a change of mind")." WHY?

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." - John 3:16

There are thousands of examples that could be added.  This section contains only the tip of the iceberg; but, I feel, enough to stimulate ones thinking. God gives you a free will to choose your own destiny; Heaven, or Hell.

"He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him." - John 3:36
