17. Matthew 11:28-29 - "The Invitation Is To "All."

"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. (28) Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly of heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls." (29) This is for salvation that the invitation is universal. This is the purpose of the Holy Spirit--to convict the world of sin, righteousness and judgment. (See John 16:7-11) Any student of the Bible recognizes that Matthew 11:28 is speaking about salvation and Matthew 11:29 is speaking concerning our service to the Lord. The invitation is to everyone, and we thank God for that. Since everyone is invited, everyone has a right to accept or reject Christ. Again, the free will of man is brought forth.
