Fragment: The Church The time to come is the time of glory and perfection of church; the present, the time of faithfulness and faith, but of a faith which counts upon God, that the church by His power may manifest His glory, even in this world, by its entire superiority to all that governs the world and exerts an influence upon it. The church is the seat of the power of God in the world. What have we made of it? (See Ephesians 3:20-21.) The Epistle to the Ephesians - -presents the perfection of the church’s portion before God; that to the Thessalonians gives us, in the most interesting manner, the perfection of the Christian’s portion individually J.
