    Ft1 With the desire to secure the opinion of Dr. A. T. Robertson. of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and perhaps the greatest Greek scholar in America. I submitted to him some pages from this chapter in which the author discusses at some length the critical meaning of the word anothen and asked Dr. Robertson to give me his view on Dr. Carroll’s interpretation of this Greek word. Replying to my query, he said: “The literal meaning of anothen is ‘from above,’ and the contest in Luke’s Gospel will make good sense with Dr. Carroll’s translation of it. THE EDITOR.
