02.26. Hosea
26. HOSEA agrees with his brethren, the prophets.
"I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death: O death, I will be your plagues: O grave, I will be your destruction: repentance shall be hid from mine eyes" (Hosea 13:14).
We are not left in doubt as to the meaning of this language for Paul quotes it in 1 Corinthians 15:1-58 and declares that it denotes the anastasis, or ascension of all humanity to a condition of holiness and happiness. Even Hosea foresaw the destruction of hell, and the delivery of its inhabitants at the final resurrection.
