01.02.01. SECOND SUNDAY OF ADVENT

SECOND SUNDAY OF ADVENT Read Isaiah 61:1-3 The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. This was the text for one of Jesus’ first sermons. (It almost cost him his life.) His entire ministry can be seen as an investment in human need.

What can be said about your personal ministry? How many needs will be met as a result of your willingness to be faithful to His empowering leadership?

God’s will for us is to be "encouraged people" on a mission of encouragement, for if you know Christ personally, the Spirit of the sovereign LORD is upon you too!

Pray today for your pastor. Ask God to give him strength to preach faithfully. In addition to this, pray for the encouragement of his soul, mind and body. Ask God to show you one way that you can minister to your pastor during this season of Advent.
