Jesus Goes Upon A Mountain And Prays, Comes Down And Picks The Twelve (Luke 6:12-16) (Mark 3:13-19)

12It was at this time that He went off to the mountain to pray, and He spent the whole night in prayer to God.13And when day came, He called His disciples to Him and chose twelve of them, whom He also named as apostles:14Simon, whom He also named Peter, and Andrew his brother; and James and John; and Philip and Bartholomew;15and Matthew and Thomas; Jamesthe sonof Alphaeus, and Simon who was called the Zealot;16Judasthe sonof James, and Judas Iscariot, who became a traitor.

13And He went up on the mountain and summoned those whom He Himself wanted, and they came to Him.14And He appointed twelve, so that they would be with Him and that Hecouldsend them out to preach,15and to have authority to cast out the demons.16And He appointed the twelve: Simon Peter),17and James, the sonof Zebedee, and John the brother of James (to them He gave the name Boanerges, which means, “Sons of Thunder”);18and Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus, and Simon the Zealot;19and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed Him.
