Psalms 113:1-9

Psalms 113 Hallelujah! Praise His Name! This third Hallelujah Psalm begins with a Hallelujah and ends with Hallelujah. It is given in the Authorized Version as “ Praise ye the Lord” (as in all these Psalms). It would be more sublime to maintain this grand old Hebrew word “ Hallelujah.” His Name is praised. “ Praise the name of the Lord–Blessed be the Name of the Lord.” Yea from the rising of the sun unto the going down, from one end of the earth unto the other, the Lord’ s Name is praised. He is above all nations. What Hannah so beautifully uttered in her song of Praise has come. “ He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth the needy out of the dunghill; that He may set him with princes, even with the Princes of His people.” That is Israel redeemed by Him. And so is “ the barren woman, a joyful mother of children.”
