1 Chronicles 13

AOSN

1 Chronicles 13:1-14

These chapters describe how Jerusalem became the political and religious center of Israel. The story begins with David's failed attempt to move the Ark of God from Kiriath-jearim to Jerusalem (1 Chronicles 13:1–14; compare 2 Samuel 6:2–11).

1 Chronicles 13:9-11

When Uzzah died, Israel's celebration quickly turned to sorrow. Touching the ark led to death because it violated its holiness (see 1 Chronicles 15:13).

1 Chronicles 13:12

David's reaction to Uzzah's death might show he felt unfit to move the ark to Jerusalem.
