Hosea 14
BBCHosea 14:1
VIII. ISRAEL URGED TO REPENT AND ENJOY GOD’S BLESSING (Chap. 14)14:1-3 Israel is called to repentance and even given the words of confession to use in a day still future. Reliance on Assyria, trust in the horses of Egypt, and idolatry are the sins mentioned. They acknowledge that God is their only hope. 14:4-7 In truly exquisite nature poetry, the Lord promises healing, love, refreshment, attractiveness, revival, and growth. 14:8 The Lord is still speaking in verse 8. He wants the idols of His people to be a thing of the past. He reminds them that He is their Protector and Provider. 14:9 The Prophet Hosea closes his prophecy by emphasizing that wisdom and prudence lie in obedience to the ways of the LORD.
