Revelation 21:2

Revelation 21:2 This is not “heaven” but heaven’ s picture of the new messianic age. Cf. v. 10, John saw a city, but it is described as a bride. cf. Heb. 12:22 2 Cor. 11:2; espoused to Christ; Rom. 7:1-6, married to Christ. Eph. 5, the church is his bride.

Revelation 21:3

Revelation 21:3 “Tabernale with men” .. is an OT prophecy in which God promised to dwell in the midst of his people when the New Covenant came. Ezek. 37:19-28; Zech. 2:11-13; 13:9; cf. Isa. 25:6-9; Hos. 1:9-11; 2:23; Joel 3:17-21; Zeph. 3:17. According to the NT these promises are all realized now in the church (cf. Rom. 9:24-25; 2 Cor. 6:15-16; 1 Pet. 2:10).

Revelation 21:4

Revelation 21:4 Characteristics of the New Covenant Age. “Wipe away all tears”… Isa. 65:19, not of heaven, but the new covenant age. Isa. 30:19, will will no longer; Isa. 25:8, death swallowed up.

Revelation 21:9

Revelation 21:9 One of these angels had shown John the identification of Babylon, Revelation 17:1.

Revelation 21:10

Revelation 21:10 The city four - square, approximately 1400 miles in every direction, wall 210 feet thick, 12 gates of pearl, an angel at each gate. Name of a tribes at each gate.

Revelation 21:14
