Thomas Haweis (1734-1820) was rector of Aldwincle and chaplain to Selina, Countess of Huntingdon - a leading figure of the Evangelical Revival, friend of Whitefield and of the Wesleys, and one of the founders of the London Missionary Society. The Evangelical Expositor prints the whole text of Scripture at large with practical notes beneath it, written plainly for family and closet reading rather than for the study.
