Irwin2 physicians. Persons of high rank in Egypt had a number of family physicians, each devoting himself to one class of diseases. In later times, the embalmers formed a distinct class. This art was carried to such perfection by the Egyptians that their mummies remain to the present day.
3 and ten days. That is, a month of mourning (see Numb. xx. 29; Deut. xxxiv. 8) besides the forty days of embalming.
