Job 25

This short closing speech of Bildad gives no answer to Job’s arguments; nor does it contain any new charge against him except an implied rebuke for having justified himself before God. But it is gentler in tone than the former, and it expresses sentiments on the power of God and the sinfulness of man which are in the main correct. That it is so brief seems to indicate that the case against Job is exhausted.

5. Behold even to the moon, and it shineth not. More exactly, as R.V., “Behold, even the moon hath no brightness”; i.e., in comparison with His light.
