Joseph Addison Alexander (1809–1860) was an American Presbyterian theologian and professor at Princeton Theological Seminary, known as one of the most brilliant scholars of his generation. His commentary on Isaiah is a masterwork of conservative Old Testament scholarship, defending the unity and Isaianic authorship of the entire book while providing thorough philological and theological exposition of the Hebrew text.
