Joseph Augustus Seiss (1823–1904) was an American Lutheran minister and author who served prominent congregations in Philadelphia. His Lectures on the Apocalypse (1865), based on sermons preached over several years, is one of the most thorough and eloquent futurist commentaries on Revelation. His Gospel in Leviticus explores the typological significance of the Levitical system. Seiss was known for his powerful preaching and literary gifts.
