Rest

“Come unto me … and I will give you rest”
— Matt. 11:28

“He has not only made peace, but "My peace I give unto you." … What was the peace of Christ? He was here in uninterrupted intercourse with the Father — the peace of perfect communion. Christ puts us into His place, and we have fellowship with the Father; and when we walk in that, we have this peace of Christ.”

“There is but one man … who never had a place of rest. … "The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man has not where to lay his head." And if we now have a nest, a place of rest in God, it is because for our sakes Jesus was without rest on earth.”
