It is a high ideal that Jesus sets for the life. And he takes us into close, confidential friendship about it all. He tells us what he expects, and how it may be. When we are his friends, and he tells what that means, he makes clear his plan that our life and prayers are to count in the changing of things that need changing, and in the bringing to pass of things that ought to happen.
