The Prince of life gives life. He is life. He controls it. He restores it when lost. He came to give it—more plentifully, and the better sort. “Eternal life” doesn’t mean simply length. “Eternal” isn’t a foot-rule word. It means the kind. Jesus gives us a purer, stronger, better quality of life now, in our bodies, and in our daily experiences. Letting him have habitual control is the sanest thing we can do.
