French physician who founded homeopathy in 1796. Born 10 April 1755 at Meissen, Saxony, Holy Roman Empire; died 2 July 1843 at Paris, France. Received his medical degree from the University of Erlangen. Introduced the practice of quarantine to Prussia. Author of several scientific works.
