Any one knows any good online teens forum?

P
paula4jc

I am looking for a teen forum that has good strong christians discussion where youths can talk and grow in their faith.

M
MrBillPro

What's wrong with this forum I think it's good for all from 1 to 110? No I think I know were your coming from there is a tendency to stick to the meat of the Word here and sometimes matter fact lots of times I am more confused by what I read after I read it than before I read it, the only way you will find what your asking about is find a forum were there is still lots of folks on the milk, and join in and grow along. I heard a Pastor say one time Gods word is not that confusing that we make it confusing and I think he might have a point there, I hope you find what your looking for, but if you don't maybe they will open up a Milk Lounge here soon and give some of a place were we can go in and read and come out with a feeling we have really learned something, without being more confused when we come out, nothing wrong with the meat but you have to start on the milk then graduate.

Well, after googling, I found these:Christian Teen Forums:http://www.christianteenforums.com/index.phpGuy teen forum:http://www.christianforums.com/f113-guys.htmlGirl teen forum:http://www.christianforums.com/f114-gals.htmlHope that helps you. :-)

The forums on SermonIndex are more serious and grave in nature having more soberiety in their tone of discussions and topics. I do think some youth have been blessed to be around the giants and also other mature believers on the forums. But at times there can be a lose of what is trying to be conveyed on the website. I am pretty saddened about the tone and frivilousness of alot of the teen forums on the internet.

S

I'd love if all teens could feel compelled to a site like SI FOR THE "CLASSICS" AMEN, but for some it may not have the Forum type feel that teens gravitate to. I don't remember being a teen ... haaa.Anyhow, I think these other "Christian Forums" do not - do not - have nor give nor care about THE MEAT ... they make Jesus into a cartoon character and allow almost anything on there ... but one does seem good and has enough to keep even teens interested but give them FOOD too .... PLUS if you look on their left bar, you see "Study Resources" and other good stuff. Index page with good options on left.Funny PagesBest to view all suggestions first yourself.I've seen too many with the "Anime" cartoon nonsense and worse. Making Christianity nothing but a FUN CLUB to be in. Now GROWTH AND FUN IS GREAT. :-D

The issue is when ever I say “No” my teens think I am the meanest mom. An unbeliever who is in my child school band wants to drive around, hang out for milk shake, then go to their band practice, and later drive my teen home. I say no, because “hang out” is unacceptable for believers. My teen started to cry and say “I never asked to go any where before.” I say your first choice is a bad choice - an unbeliever opposite sex.

paula4jc wrote:I say no, because “hang out” is unacceptable for believers. I have "no" idea what you mean by that statement, but I would suggest that you study the life of Christ in a little more depth. Jesus "hung out" if that is the word we want to use here with the worst. All four Gospel writers get this across, Jesus lived with and around a group of people. His closest friends were fishermen. Think about that for a moment, Jesus lived with fishermen. Ever been around fishermen before? Jesus traveled by boat often and someone got pushed over board. Jesus might have been the one doing the pushing, who knows, but a very probable scenario. We also see bad days. Life on the road is not easy. Stress was constant and persecution around every corner. I know they got frustrated with Jesus at times. They wanted a King that would end Roman rule but He talked of having compassion for foreigners. Surely, these situations brought out the best and worst of each of the people that surrounded Christ. Can I encourage you to try something? Purpose to have friendships that consist of teaching, sharing, giving, and prayer. God's desire from Genesis to Revelation is to be with and around His people. He also asks us to love one another as He does. Should we not make efforts to do these things? Also, for the record this comes from a Dad of 54 years young that has raised three teens and a Grandfather of two teens, that have "hung out" with the worst in the past, but now have a personal Love and relationship with Christ that I have a hard time figuring out how this ever happened.

paula4jc wrote: I say your first choice is a bad choice - an unbeliever opposite sex.I have one question for you and I ask this in a sincere way, How can unbelievers ever become believers if we don't hang out with them? That is exactly how most unbelievers become believers.they sure don't become believers by hanging out with unbelievers.

Paula, you are a GOOD MOM.Jesus didn't "hang out" until he was of full Hebrew age to "Minister", which was 30 years old back then and he did not "hang out" with any UNLESS HIS FATHER told HIM to... For the purpose of the Witness.2Co 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? 2Co 6:15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? 2Co 6:16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 2Co 6:17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you. 2Co 6:18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty. I'd rather believe the Word and have the kids over the house to show a witness but "hanging out" is not Scriptural and you are a wise Mom.Takes a lot of guts and strength to hold to a Scriptural stand with teens these days and I give you a lot of credit.God Bless you.

M
MrBillPro

Well Looks like you and I disagree on a lot here but I have news for you, your wrong! Jesus did hang out with the worse and anyone can hand pick any scripture to prove their point, so In your world I guess a prostitute is a good person because Jesus did hang out with one, or did I read that in the New York Times.Love Your Neighbour as Yourself - Luke 10:27In these words Jesus is summing up what we may call the moral law, the six commandments of the Ten Commandments that relate to how we treat our fellow human beings. The first great commandment is given here – “Love the Lord your God with all your heart.” That sums up our obligation to God, but the second one – “Love your neighbour as yourself” – sums up our obligation to our fellow men. Surely it is one of the greatest faults in the church today, in which we see most clearly the church’s need of revival in our society, that we have such complacency about those around us who do not know the Lord Jesus Christ and who do not know that they are heading towards a lost eternity. We should be like the watchman of whom Ezekiel speaks in his prophecy, who must sound the trumpet to those who are perishing, to give them the warning that they need. We are called to make that announcement – to tell people, to invite people, to cajole people, to encourage people to come and to consider the claims of Jesus Christ. We have to ask ourselves as a congregation, as I hope we always do: What are we doing to make sure that this city, this area of the city, our friends, our neighbours, know something of the love of Jesus Christ? We have to ask ourselves as individuals: What am I seeking to do to make this known to people in need around me?

M

My God doesn't require atonement or vicarious atonement. He wants us to live a better life, here and hereafter. As Jesus said to the woman caught in the act of adultery, "Neither do I condemn you. Go and sin no more." This is what any good parent wants: not retribution or vengeance, but step-by-step change for the better. Today, those who preach the old theology of a wrathful, vindictive god are driving people away from churches and the Bible and Jesus and God. Internet chatrooms are full of ex-christians who have rejected all of that, because they reject the old image of God. And I agree with them. I say, "My God isn't like that. My God is not willing that any should perish. He does not cause pain or hardship. He sends members of His Kingdom to search for lost souls, and all kinds of sinners, and rescue every one they possibly can." Many ex-christians, and some pagans, have rejoiced to hear the good news about God and His kingdom. More than a few have said they were going to go look for a church that teaches and preaches like that. Christianity has more than one theology. One of them describes a judgmental God who rewards the righteous and punishes sinners by sending them to hell. Another, at the peak of the watershed, the highest point in the history of theology, describes the loving Father who calls the wanderers home.

So all mothers of teenage girls should let their girls get into cars with unsaved boys - Right ?That was what Paula is talking about. If you want to send your grand-daughter out in cars with non-Christian boys .... where's the "Scripture" for that one. There's a time and place for "witnessing" and there are times and places that you don't allow your teen daughters go with "whomever" in cars.I've had the burden and HAVE done street and prison ministry for years so there IS a time and place to witness and to LOVE ALL OF HUMANKIND ''''' AS GOD LEADS '''''Go with GOD Paula.

M
MrBillPro

MeAgain wrote:There's a time and place for "witnessing" Can you please show me were there is a scripture that say's that?It seems that ignorance of Scripture and indifference are the chief problems in the body of Christ in America today. Together, these problems have compounded the overall problems facing the individual Christian who isn’t like the majority, that is, he/she is seriously trying to “Serve the LORD with fear and rejoice with trembling” (Psa. 2:11). Nowhere in the Bible does it say that a faithful, loving and humble servant of Christ will win a popularity contest or even receive common respect and courtesy from the world. Just the opposite is to be expected! See LK. 6:22,23; Jn. 16:2; 2 Tim. 3:12; 1 Jn. 3:13; etc. Remember the righteous of the past, who were also examples of faith and of whom this world “was NOT worthy,” were tortured, destitute, persecuted and mistreated, as they were poorly clothed and wandered in the deserts and mountains (Heb. 11:35b-39). See Paul’s charge to Timothy (2 Tim. 2:3).The seriousness of being ashamed of Jesus in this evil world is another issue that should be addressed. In the Lord’s own words: “If anyone is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when he comes in his Father’s glory with the holy angels” (Mark 8:38).

MeAgain wrote:The Spirit of GOD is supposed to go and be with us in ALL our witnessing Well since I have been saved and baptized my guess would be according to the word of "God" that the spirit now resides within me, so I am guessing that as I go out into the world witnessing in all places and to all people that spirit will not temporary leave me when I go into the slums and witness to the worse kinds of folks out there, no my guess would be that same spirit was the one that showed me that direction and it was Gods will that I go there and ultimately, any salvation glorifies God.

Mr. BillPro,Also, for the record this comes from a Dad of 54 years young that has raised three teens and a Grandfather of two teens.I don't think you're suitable for even secular advice. You're very libral and its youth pastor with identical views as yours why I pull my teens out of the church. You may have knowledge, but obviously lack wisdom, discernment, and application. You come here and received the answer that "you" wanted to hear and your in agreement with and we sometimes are looking for that, But you did not want to hear any other views that you did not want to agree with and instead of being Godly about it you put someone down for their views maybe it's like Mom like Daughter, I wonder why she is like she is? 54 huh ?Since I've been here, I've never seen anyone point out your sarcasm and how you are the 'man' that posts short sarcastic posts and ALWAYS with the tongue-hanging-out icons.Yet to find out yesterday, that you are 54 almost floored me. I kept very quiet with it all and for all of this time thinking, since last year that you were a teen .... and that's the truth before God ..... but now to hear you brag of your AGE (of all things)and use Scripture to say Paula's daughter should get into cars with unsaved boys ..... Well - now I am praying for the day that someone in authority here will do a GOOD search on your posts to see the sneaky little posts you've planted on here since last year and what 'craft' they work. But I doubt that will happen .... Crafty-sneaky folks have a way of getting past the radar of some.54 - Unbelievable. It's no wonder that you tell me on this thread that we don't NEED THE SPIRIT's GUIDANCE AND EMPOWERMENT TO BE A WITNESS.It sure isn't Paula that is off here ... I've watched you work on here. Sincere Christians are to seek to follow the example of Christ himself, and I will admit I have not done that in some of my responses to Annie nor has she me, so for the record I do apologize to her for some of my responses to her, but I will not apologize for my opinions here. We as Christians should not fire missiles at each other, we should show in a Godly manner how you might want to examine the word to see if your opinion follows scripture and go from there, personally I feel we both have not acted in a very Godly manner and have basically shown our spiritual colors.Sorry Mr. Bill

~ PAULA, I've just been threatened to be banned by PM for this thread.Wow, shocking. My opinion on this matter, and I speak as a teenager, is that Paula is doing the right thing. Teenagers are at the point in their lives where they need to be fed the Word constantly-- and they need to be protected from the Evil One who wants only to come there into their life through unGodly teenagers. The Devil hates it when people like you Paula don't allow him to work.If I had Godly parents, and if they would've not let me hang around unGodly friends a long time ago, I would've never got into the rut I was once in. So I believe you can rest assured that you are in the Lord's will Paula. :-)Jordan

I am looking for a teen forum that has good strong christians discussion where youths can talk and grow in their faith. The whole thread started from this question, why can't sermonindex be that place. But for the rest of the bickering that has insued from this thread is pretty sad. I think you are all arguing over each other and not coming to any valid conclusions and points. Please cease from "derogatory comments", as for the issue of youth, yes there is a liberty for them to be in the world but not of it, but also the intention to keep them pure and undefiled from the spirit of the world is good also. This is really a personal issue between the parents and the Lord. I do think those 3 websites that were posted are bad places to send youth even though they carry the label of "Christian" some of the discussion threads were pretty sad, especially the sexual content one, on one of the front pages of the sites.

I wished more folks would post some of their own opinions and thoughts sometimes. It's getting to the point that most every thread is nothing but full of scriptures with no personal statement that may relate to the posted scriptures, this is very confusing you don't know what kind of message if one at all is there. I read my Bible everyday and know most of these scriptures maybe I am the only one who see's this. Here's an example if someone is beating themselves up because of sin in their life we should come in with a personal statement before the scriptures.Hey brother or Sister we have all sinned and continue to sin if your alive your a sinner so let me help you with a scripture here maybe this will help Rom 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; This at least is something personal from us and lets the person whoever your addressing all the scriptures to know it's for them, we all need these scriptures no doubt but it also helps to show we care enough for them that we can at least leave some kind of personal statement before them, maybe I am way off but this is the way I take it.

Heb 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.Mat 4:4 But Jesus answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by 'every' word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. Mat 4:7 Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. Here's an example if someone is beating themselves up because of sin in their life we should come in with a personal statement before the scriptures.Hey brother or Sister we have all sinned and continue to sin if your alive your a sinner so let me help you with a scripture here maybe this will help Rom 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; If you continue to sin you are not a Christian. Can you be a sinner and a saint at the same time? Anyone who practices sin has not been born again. 1Jo 3:9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.In other words they cannot continue in sin. EDIT:I would always make sure a person like that knows they can have their sin taken away, not that they are just like everyone else- so it makes it look like it is not a big deal.I don't mean to just pick something out and harp on it, but I deal with sinners all the time on the street that tell me just what you said, "we all sin because we are alive, we can't stop. This is the way God made us." That is a lie that is sending people to Hell! Christ can take away their sins, not just cover them up!

M

OK bad example! But there was also another message there, I am sorry I Picked that example, I guess I am not a Christian because I do continue to sin, I overindulged last night at supper and I have done that 4 times already this month already, so I am still working on not sinning, could you please help me from you own prospective on how not to be a sinner, I need to know from folks that do not continue to sin, this is the only way I will ever know.

I guess I am not a Christian because I do continue to sin, I overindulged last night at supper and I have done that 4 times already this month already, so I am still working on not sinning, could you please help me from you own prospective on how not to be a sinner, I need to know from folks that do not continue to sin, this is the only way I will ever know.First off, I am not going to say that there are not struggles or weakness in my walk. I do not believe a Christian has to (or will) continue to rebel against God. One would need to see how rebellious sin is. When a person transgresses God's law (which is what sin is) they have rebelled against many things. 1) Their conscience, 2) the God who gave them that conscience, 3) God's law, 4) in most cases breaking their own rule which might be "I do unto others as I would have done unto me." Sin is an act of rebellion towards man, ourselves, and ultimately God, who as Christians, we say we love. 1Cr 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God [is] faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear [it]. Jam 1:14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Jam 1:15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. Praise God no temptation has to overcome us! Believe God's word! This is the only way. It is by faith alone and of course true faith will respond with works. His word is true! He really can cleanse us from all sin. 1Jo 1:6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: 1Jo 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. I am not trying to raise some standard that is not attainable. If that is the way you view what I am saying then that is the wrong prospective. What I am saying is that if we have intimate relationship with Him that standard will automatically rise to the surface! Praise God! In Him is no sin! Let us abide in Him! He came to destroy the works of the devil and take away our sin!Praise be to Him!

Paula,Coming from a woman who was NOT raised in a Christian home and had some freedoms I should not have had, you are responding the right way with your daughter! The Lord never tells us to send our children into the world when they are not prepared. It is our DUTY to prepare them AND to protect them. I cannot tell a person what to do in a specific case by case thing, but I do know that allowing a teen girl to "hang out" with an unsaved boy unchaperoned, is not a WISE thing to do. I truly do wish I had had parents who protected me when I was younger. I wouldn't have been in the situations that were inappropriate for a child to be in----situations I would cringe at the thought of my children being in now.Your daughter may get mad or frustrated with you now, but she WILL thank you later for loving her enough to protect her until she's old enough and equipped to handle life's tough situations. Blessings in Him, Cindy
