America's End is nigh!

"America, America, awake out of your slumber; I will shake you, I will shake you with a shake that has never shaken you before.

You flaunted yourselves above the world; you flaunted yourselves above your neighbor and your neighbors: brother against brother, kingdom against kingdom, people against people, Christian against Christian in your ungodly attempt to self-glorify yourselves. Both in the church and throughout America your leaders religiously, politically and economically are vain, corrupt and amoral. You are fast losing the salt, the purity that has held you together; that has made you great, if not the greatest of all nations.

But, I will bring you down; like the wind brings down the tree, so I will bring you down.

You will not escape my wrath; for it is an expression of my love, my deep love that will do all it can to get your attention before my eternal wrath, to remove all those who do not and will not love thy neighbor, will fall.

Some say, many say, 'Oh, we will escape. It will not happen to us; for we are your elect; we are God's chosen.' But, I say, you have blinded yourselves with your own vanity. My elect are not the people, the church in America; but my elect are the people of the world that are called by my name and do my will on earth as it is done in heaven. Not people with a false tongue of divination of thy heart, but of divination of my will.

For you are a thankless, godless, amoral generation that has been raised by the philosophies of the heathen and I will challenge your philosophies till you hate me and my people. My people will not escape your wrath -- the wrath of the world as some falsely teach; for only the world's wrath will open their eyes clearly to what I am saying so they are prepared to meet me.

I am coming quickly for a people, a church without spot or wrinkle; a blood washed, blood soaked people who are really called Christian; not the hypocritical, self-righteous, self-taught, self-educated fool who propitiates his own dogma today.

I will tear down the haughty; the mighty religious leader in my kingdom, in my church who has deceived my people with your ever babbling rhetoric that has filled the pulpits across America. Instead of my church being one, you have become institutionalized where my true servants are not even welcomed because you're protecting your own man-made philosophies and your own selfish interests. You think the people are yours, but I tell you they are mine and your man-made denominational institutions will fail; for I am shaking and calling the very elect to follow me, not you. Awake, awake, oh Jerusalem; for the King of Glory is about to appear and only the true elect, the glorified elect, will live in that New Jerusalem that I am preparing.

America, your religious leaders are vain and corrupt; your church leaders are vain and corrupt; your political leaders are vain and corrupt; your relatives are vain and corrupt; your neighbors are vain and corrupt. A generation of heathen, those that appear to many as the elect -- my chosen, yet, I have not accepted them because I can see their heart. They are imitations of the genuine; a pearl in the rough.

But don't give up; for I will wash you and prepare you through the fire of my love, not the world's wrath, but my love. As a father chastens his children, so I will chasten you and tear down your sand castles, your delusions of grandeur, until you can see the kingdom again."

On December 24, 1995 at 0541hrs., Rev. Jonathan Hansen received this prophecy primarily for the people who call themselves "born again." The Lord is saying that he will exhort the American people to look to him. He will cause an incident to happen in America so great so as to get their attention. This could possibly be through the weather, food, disease, economy (although it would have to be a much greater degree than we have yet experienced), etc., or nuclear war at a national level.

God is saying that the people of America are guilty of intense pride, intense self-exaltation and self-satisfaction. In all areas of life in America, including the Church, most of the people are filled with pleasing themselves. The leaders in America, even in the Church for the most part, are filled with self-glorification and self-attainment. Many of their leaders not only have a gluttonous appetite for glory and "the things of the world," but some are guilty of immorality and amorality. Many church leaders do not know right from wrong any longer. Many are guilty of lying, cheating, fornication and adultery. Because so many of the pastors have become amoral and are no longer either capable or bold enough to counsel truth, the American people are turned over to the philosophies of evil men and satanic spirits. The psychic, the philosopher, the professor, and even eastern religions take the place of the truth of Jesus Christ that should be taught fundamentally, doctrinally sound and without error. But the message is not popular with people of America, nor with many deceived pastors within the Church. So, the people of America turn to the lies of the cult and occult because a true servant of the Lord is not popular even within his own denomination. They dance to the fiddle of the majority who are intrigued by the psychics' predictions, but are deaf to the words and warnings of a true prophet. Thus, the people of America and members of the church are conned by false doctrine. They are inept to scripturally and spiritually deal with the deceptions, lies, lusts, lifestyles, values, behaviors, sins and spirits that are in our society and church.

God is saying that he will bring down (humble, shame) the American people, including many church leaders. Many people in America and members of churches feel immune from the catastrophes that have struck other countries such as war, famine, disease, persecution, etc. But, God is warning that the people, both in society and the Church, will not escape his dealings with them. There are hard times ahead for both the Church and people of America. Great trouble, plagues and persecution lie ahead. This is needed out of God's deep eternal love to give every opportunity for people to repent and prepare themselves for the coming of the Lord.

When there is a lack of righteousness and holiness in peoples' lives, they compromise. They are afraid to speak the truth to others. They lie and give excuses for their unfaithfulness by saying they do not want to hurt people's feelings. You can say it another way, but the truth is, their own relationship with God is lacking. In reality, they do not have the spiritual strength to obey the spirit; nor are they led by the Spirit, but by their own understanding, mentality and flesh. They find it difficult to give godly counsel because, according to his Word, they do not have an intimate relationship with the Author of Truth. Thus, they do not know what the truth is, or if they do, they do not have the spirit (strength) to do or say what he asks of them.

The majority of the Church in America lacks holiness and righteousness. God must and will prepare them for his return. For he will not allow his New Jerusalem to be polluted, corrupt, diseased, poverty stricken, ruled by the vain, immoral or amoral, again. Before his final judgment when people are sentenced to eternal separation or eternal life with him in the New Jerusalem, Jesus will give more opportunity for a change of heart. The American "born again Christian" will be chastened by the Lord and tried by the fire. God will force events to deal with their spiritually weak condition until the American Christian (true believer) will look to the Lord for their strength and call upon the Lord earnestly, not out of some mythical explanation or prayer. Through the changing events and new laws in society, the American believer will be forced of God to take his stand on spiritual and moral truths until they are hated and persecuted by society. The American Christian will not escape having to take his stand and position in the Lord!

Wrong doctrine taught by denominations and pastors will be exposed by time itself, by the Holy Spirit, by the Scriptures, which will finally be studied studiously by the elect instead of just accepted from the pulpit. Many large churches, denominations, church leaders and pastors will fall. They will be rejected both by society and by the believer, for their vain lifestyle and teaching of God's Word. Eventually all godly organized churches and ministries will be shut down as persecution of the true believer takes its full course. As believers have suffered in many countries throughout the world for their faith, so many will now suffer in America.

The Lord Jesus is warning the American Christians that he is preparing to return to earth. Before he returns, he will give more opportunities for both the unbeliever and believer to prepare for his coming. Great trouble will fall on America along with a major Crisis that will change the American lifestyle. He warns that the born again believer will also be challenged by the Lord through the change of events in American lifestyle, calamities and persecution. But through it all the true Church will become holy without spot or wrinkle and learn to trust in Jesus. Amen and amen!

God is saying ...

Act 15:15 And to this agree the words of the prophets; as it is written,

Act 15:15 -
The words of the prophets - Amo_9:11-12. It was a very material point with them, as Jews, to inquire whether this was in accordance with the predictions of the Scriptures. The most powerful revivals of religion, and the most striking demonstrations of the divine presence, will be in accordance with the Bible, and should be tested by them. This habit was always manifested by the apostles and early Christians, and should be followed by Christians at all times. Unless a supposed work of grace accords with the Bible, and can be defended by it, it must be false, and should be opposed. Compare Isa_8:20.

well, they aren't as bad as ...

Not to be too didactic but is there any real substantive difference when God has said neither?

If even the 'hard' things are spoken does this lend more credence to it just because of that?

Here is a challenge that I wonder if is ever considered;

2Ti 4:2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

2Ti 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

2Ti 4:4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

2Ti 4:5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.

And that includes those who would appeal more to our particular liking, denouncing sin, desiring repentance, speaking to the moral woes of our culture ... still, "itching ears?"

The one large looming question is always this; Do these things sound like God Himself? The inflection of His voice from what He has already spoken (written), His attributes and character ... Do we know the difference?

To be serious, your point is well taken, Brother. A false prophet is a false prophet. It is very sad to see how many people are caught up in what these people say and seek them for their knowledge. I know people who I believe love the Lord who, for some reason I cannot fathom, believe all these things are from God. I just pray for discernment in these days of deception.

I have problems with the title only so far. Haven't read it too closely because it sounds like the same that anyone could give who has an ounce of the Holy Spirit in them in these days.

Don't have any really strong feeling about Hansen one way or another. Have heard him for years and he doesn't 'shake' me. The Lord has never yet to tell me to listen to or "follow" any Prophet 'out there'. I believe if one depends on the LORD entirely, that He'll fulfill Jn 16:13 in that person individually.

I think when the Two Witnesses come, they better shake us. Ha.

Anyhow, there's always been two problems with God's people, #1 - they've despised the Prophets and always wanted to shut them up. #2 - there are more false prophets than true.

BUT, in the N.T. it is written that "the prophets are to judge the prophets" but we still can by The Word first & with the Holy Spirit Only and not our minds/emotions.

That's an important verse and Paul said plainly "despise not prophesying".

Problem is, we don't know the real from the false because there are TOO many "prophets or prophesying" and they're going to increase in numbers and "utterances". Caution is Good and Biblical, yet at the same time, there are Biblical rules to handling these things that we must be careful about.

Only two things to be done .... Unless the Bible totally contradicts the "sayings" in the prophecy ... we must just respect it, leave it alone, and pray about it and whatever it says.

If there is heresy in other parts of the "prophet" including his eschatological views, then toss it.

Or a bad lifestyle or how does he make his MONEY ???

If we find ourselves coming against a real prophet or prophecy, then the Word is pretty clear that we will come under the judgments of that prophecy & the judgment of coming against a true prophet & coming against the Holy Spirit Himself, so that is why it is best to say little --- unless all of the other perimeters of the person themselves and the content is Anti or Extra-Biblical.

Dangerous stuff from top to bottom, so we only have --- HA --- felt funny saying "only have" --- but we DO have BIBLES to compare things to and that is wiser than to find ourselves despising prophecies on emotions only or some sort of intellectual bias, as Paul Etc. warned.

Best to just stick these things on the back burner of the brain or spirit and let The Lord deal with it, lest we find ourselves coming against the Holy Spirit.

I don't know about Hanson and don't need to, but I don't believe personally America's "end" is nigh.
America as we knew it --- yes, but the total annihilation is not due yet.

And if anything, the false Pastor's and leaders will prosper and the true Saints will be persecuted. The Compromisers buy a little "time" for themselves. No need to say what will happen to them afterwards.

Just best to stay circumspect on all of these issues and how to deal with them to stay safe ourselves.

prophet hansen preaches pure doctrine and thus far his prophetic utterances for kenya etc etc have been 100% accurate without fail in any single prophetic word.

he also denounces the prosperity gospel and upholds Biblical truth as a lion her cubs.

please take the time to read through the entire message contained on the site at the bottom of the page.

I dont know if this man is a true prophet or not. I do know he jumped on the Y2K bandwagon pretty hard... and then nothing happened. So, it makes me wonder.

However, I dont have an argument with his "prophecy". I think tho, most folks who have a basic understanding of God's nature know that He is not happy with the sins of this nation. And most would agree that sins do not go unpunished. Therefore, as common sense and history teach us... judgement will come.

So in the end... how much of a prophet do you need to be to make these utterances? Not much, in my estimation.

I read one of the prophecies this man gave about Canada where he shows that Canada's problem is all the immigrants and how they are bringing their sinful ways into Canada because they are attempting to escape God's judgement in their own countries... and the judgement is following them into Canada.

What...?

Uhmm... even the Indians were immigrants at one point. Both Canada and America are immigrant countries. And people come to these two countries for a million different reasons.

So, I do think this is a good word for America, even tho it's just basic common sense. It's not rocket science.

I am, however, leery of someone who is a self proclaimed prophet and who bought into and promoted the Y2K doom and gloom. And I've read all the different "prophets" explanations about why Y2K seemed to be a dud... I'm not buying it. It didnt send us into a recession, or anything else. Even 9/11 didnt send us into a recession. Folks, I have news for you... despite the BS you're being fed by the media... we are in an economic boom! I can proove it! I've never been so busy. And my stocks are super right now.

It could change over night, sure. I know that. The world economy could collapse over night. Thats been true ever since there was a stock market. Look at 1929.

My point is... judgement is coming. For sure. No doubt. But these doom and gloom prophets have been predicting this ever since the 1970's... setting dates for when the economy is going to collapse, etc. Jack Van Impe has made a career out of it.

It's all a design to get our eyes off of Jesus and get us to worry.

I'm ready. If it all collapses tomorrow... I'm ready.

Search_Me, I used to listen to shortwave. Still do on occasions, but now mostly just the BBC or others that are on FM dial.

That's where I heard Jonathan Hansen years ago and the last I heard, he's still on there.

First he was just on The Prophecy Club broadcast, then he got his own show.

Looked on the web and there are lots of listings under "Jonathan Hansen Y2K" ... what I stuck into Search thingie.

I was listening to them all before Y2K. But the bulk of what I got about Y2K was all that me and friends were cutting out of our local newspapers and they were all warnings from Senators etc.

Anyhow, just grabbed a quick one here....

The BODY works as One good Brother. :-D

Hey, ya know what bothers me the most about this stuff .....

http://www.crosssearch.com/Science_and_Social_Science/Theology_and_Issues/Prophecy/

Is that when the unsaved see how many false prophecies there are ... then when you try to give them the 'real stuff' from The Word Alone, then they say, "Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww, I'm sick of hearing all's this gloom & doom junk".

I've had Y2K thrown at me too ... but it wasn't because I was prophesying or showing them prophesy about "y2k" but because what some of us are feeling now, is 'similar' to the warnings going out then that failed to materialize.

Even Christians are so bloody burnt out on this stuff, that they "don't want to hear one negative thing from the Holy Spirit" ... HA ... I heard an actual Pastor Say that. HOY!

Looking to prophets is an O.T. thing.
We don't need to nor do I recommend it AT ALL!!!!

Do I believe there Are Prophets in The Body ... Sure Do ... but Ravenhill did a good job describing them and I believe what you said Krispy 100% .... if they say "I'm a Prophet" .... then I will not listen to them.

Nonetheless, if they're 501c3 statis and make a living off of it.

Won't go into who those are .... but, again, the promise of Jesus was to ALL of His Sheep, who KNOW HIS Voice and FOLLOW The LAMB and this is what HE promised us "all" and "this" is FREEDOM from man, but not independent from HIS Body ...... JOHN 16:13 for all......

I do not know the answer to your question...I goggled but could not find any prophecy concerning Y2K and Hansen....

It did, however, remind me of a prophecy made back in the 60's, I think. Some self-proclaimed prophet declared that California will fall off into the ocean. He explained it this way: The area known as California, is a shelf suspended over water. Now all you need is a good earthquake which will cause the area to break off and tumble into the ocean and that it would happen real soon. When I looked at CNN a few minutes ago it did not say anything about it and 40 years have pased since then, but what it did say is about a fire in Dallas...

brethren

greetings in Jesus' Name by Whose Blood we are Saved. AMEN.

You mean the prophets didn't drive around in Limos or live in mansions?

well this is not necessarily true. Daniel for example was a prophet and lived very well in Nebuchadnezzar's court and even after Nebuchadnezzar died, he lived well because that was our Lord's provision for him. Elijah lived in the wilderness as did John the Baptist. Jeremiah was of royal blood so there were times when he was favoured and lived with the king. Abraham was a prophet also and was a wealthy man. The way a man lives (be it comfort or poverty) doesn't necessarily matter much in terms of "is he a prophet or not" the only thing which matters is that God is the one who appointed him so. If that man speaks what God has given him to speak then God will vindicate His word spoken through that vessel. to be sure though, if someone comes to you saying "pay me and i will prophesy over you." i would not pay that person...money nor mind.

it seems we have a misunderstanding, a persisting one of what it is to be a prophet. To be a prophet doesn't mean that one forth-tells the future. Elijah and Elisha, were prophets but they said little of the future. Samuel, also a prophet, dealt more with day to day things than the future. What then is it to beProphetic or a Prophet of God? it is simply to convey the feelings of God toward His people to His people. if you read the prophetic books (as they are called, the bible itself is Prophetic as a whole) you will find God pouring His Heart out to a man who relays the information to the people of God. to call nostradamus a Prophet (in the True sense that is, the enemy can counterfeit) is to show a misunderstanding of what the Propetic is and what a Prophet is.

Also it is important to mention that the Prophet of God sees unfolding events and indeed all things through the Eyes of God and thus Sees Truly, that is Sees them in the Context of what God is doing. Jeremiah was at the king's court in Jerusalem and had access to inteligence at the highest levels. He saw these things in Light of what God was doing. So by the same token a Prophet of God today sees things unfolding and is shown what it means as far as what God is doing. Thus to speak of impending economic collapse can be one's task as a Prophet. To be sure, there are those who aren't saved and see this coming and they may not Prophets in the True sense but if God can use an ass to get a word out...One can't dismiss a man as not being a Prophet on account of speaking of such things only, there must be a deeper examination and much seeking God on the matter; it is a terrible thing to reject the word of God for any reason.

sis Mseaman made mention of how Prophets were disdained and this is a mark of a Prophet as long as He is speaking the word of God. It seems to me we read the prophetic books and miss altogether which ones among us are prophets for whatever reason. i suspect that the same spirit of stupor which was on Israel in those days is yet upon us (hence our guilt of the same things) and blinds us to who the Prophets are...

There is also something to be said about receiving the a Prophet in the name of a Prophet and receiving the reward of that. That says that we are to receive he who says he is a Prophet and take him at his word and there is a reward for that.We do this for preachers and teachers...even when sometimes they come out to be false...we are not as keen with the apostles and prophets for some reason...or at least we don't raise up as big a stink with preachers and teachers as we do with Prophets and apostles...are we not as Jealous for the callings of the Teacher and Preacher as we are for the other 2? just something to consider perhaps? Elijah's experience with the gentile woman is i think a good example of this. This is in 1kings 17. the way he responded to her about her making him some bread, "thus saith the Lord" was not something people randomly said (though it was possible and is so) so it is an announcment that Elijah is a man of God. without questioning she did as she was told. later on as he lived with her and her son she came to find out that Elijah was indeed a man of God as she admitted after Elijah was used of God to raise her son from the dead. Of course we are to observe carefully and see what manner of man this is through God's eyes...we must be careful not to do God's job for Him in this regard because we have a propensity to do so. We allow our own prejudices to interfere sometimes. Sometimes it is jealousy, "how could God use that guy?" or maybe there is something about the person we don't like, race, build, speaking voice...anything to excuse us from considering that maybe we ought to take heed and repent...anything but that we may need to press on further. i say this not as an accusation but as one who is guilty of these things speaking to brethren who (if we are honest) are also guilty of such at one point or another. This is an exhortation to us all to be wary of our prides which tend to rear up when God gives us revelation or when we need to press forward...

i guess there is also something to be said about the spirit of the prophets being subject to the prophets. When one is a Prophet, there seems to be a bond there which is unique. i would say it is like being black or white. i'm black (African) and there are some things which i could explain to you in great detail but would remain abstract to you all except you had a similar experience. The same can be said of my bros Krispy (a former jarhead) and Mike Balog, both of whom are white (well Krispy has Cherokee in him), some things they could explain but would be abstract to me...like Krispy's love for (some) rock and roll or other experiences which he has had due to his race and age, Krispy is up there in age y'all :-P

anyhow i pray God that in the midst of this all we don't lose sight of what is Prophetic.

Grace and PEace be ours in Jesus' Name. AMEN.

A long time ago I read what a prophet's "reward" was/is.

It was a list of what happened to each O.T. prophets. I can't remember the whole of the list, but I'll never forget that "Isaiah was sworded in half".

When these prophets are taking their "calling" with only that "reward" in mind ... then maybe they've "got the stuff for the job". :-D

Despite what our friend Corey said :-P , I like brother Ravenhill and the article MaryJane left on the Article board. Like I said,I read that when Keith Green had his newsletters sent in the mail.
That's a very good article.

In fact that article is excellent. He was right on spot with that one. That's what these prophets should expect to receive - Amen.

Some ministries, especially those with 501c3 statis, remove all of their false prophesies from circulation when what they said doesn't happen and back in '98 - '99 a lot more was said via radio than written on the Net. That's the privelege of those who do it for "a living". The real ones work a job and are everything else that Ravenhill said.

I just am very leary of those who tell you they are Prophets. That always means, "look to me" for the "right" answer.

I liked most of what you wrote IRONMAN, just wanted to add - counting the cost here.
And I'm glad you brought up the difference between what an O.T. prophet was and now since we all have the Holy Spirit.

In the O.T. even the King and Priests had to consult a Prophet before they acted.
Now it is not so and all Saints have the ability to discern the will of God or the direction that He wants or is going to move.

I pretty much shot the wad on what I think about this calling earlier but just thinking here - Prophets are one of the Five Ministerial Gifts, but if your Church doesn't have one per chance, I still think that God will use anyone there when needed to speak a word of wisdom or knowledge or even speak God's foreknowledge of a future event. Even through kids.

Lest we get puffed up.

Blessings !!!

Thanks brothers and sister.

Oh Lord, brother, I'm sorry for so many posts on this but I just thought of anutter thing.

Even though only the O.T. Prophets were the ones to go to get words from, except for the Urim and Thumin, {no time to spell check - ha}, they didn't have a "following". Like a bunch of folks following them around.

They just sort of pop up for occasions and then go back out into the desert or somewhere's.

I know you mentioned Daniel, but I'm trying to think of any others that had a set up like he did.

But anyways, my point is more toward N.T. prophets. They're hardly ever mentioned though they're in there, but the other ministerial callings are in there a lot more and even then, the part about having "followings" of any type is alluded to as not being a very good thing.

Greetings in Jesus' Name by Whose Blood we are Saved. AMEN.

When i said Prophet's reward i was talking about a reward in Heaven, or a benefit on this side for receiving a Prophet. For example the lady who received Elijah didn't starve while others around her may have. She also received her son back from the dead. Of course you bring a good point in mentioning the reward the Prophets oft got...death. to those who presume themselves Prophets but are not called of God often don't even think that death is very likely. i would dare say that perhaps if we examined their attitudes toward the Cross and what it stands for, that would be quite telling who sent them...

ultimately the Prophet's Concern is whatever God's Concern is without much regard (if any) to the consequences for his life.

I just am very leary of those who tell you they are Prophets. That always means, "look to me" for the "right" answer.

these ones don't bother me so much because being a Prophet, God has extended Grace enough that i may discern what is of Him and what is not. i don't claim to have all the answers...but i do know who does as do we all. when i say i am a Prophet it is not that i am looking for recognition (though for some reason it is sometimes misinterpreted as such) but saying what God has called me to be like a Preacher or Teacher or Evangelist. if it was recognition i wanted, i could go about that in far less painful ways :-P !

really my concern is that the word of God is received. i suppose the message is not necessarily easily separated from the messenger as it seems in most cases, the messenger was made the message by God...

indeed the O.T. Prophet was the one to consult in those days but now that we have Holy Spirit and access to the Throne, the issue is not consulting the Prophet but testing to see if the word which he/she brings is indeed from God because we can go before God and ask. The role remains the same though, the prophet is often sent of God with a word of correction or whatever else God has on His Heart to share. indeed this gift is given for the Perfecting of the Body, that is the proper unification and functioning of it.

Even through kids.

i don't know how many fellowships have Prophets within them but i know there are some. it seems though that Prophets tend more to be loners given the oft solemn nature of the work required of them. Then also it's not likely that Prophets have followings except the Spirit of God has moved and united people, in that case the Prophet is not a leader as such but functions as a part of the Body. of course the enemy could sow seeds of pride there and mess up something which would otherwise be good. Sometimes though the "followers" as it were need to check themselves lest they deceive themselves and others. All the same, it is the Spirit of God that gives gifts as He will for the Glory of God.

oh by the way i also mentioned Jeremiah as being of royal blood and sometimes in his ministry being taken care of well. i guess being wealthy is not really the issue, well except if the way of gaining it is unscrupulous, then there is cause for concern.

Grace and Peace be ours in Jesus' Name. AMEN

Hi Search_Me, I do believe you love in Jesus, that is why I've tip-toed through my answers here very carefully trying not to come right out and say anything that might hurt you.

What I've done is describe what a true prophet should be like and used Ravenhill's description as a very good pointer.
That article is in the Articles Forum, by MaryJane as author of the thread.

I "listened" to Jonathan Hansen back between '98 until about 2001. I don't like judging folks for the reasons I gave in my first post ... have you really read my posts ? You probably have because you are still searching for more of an answer.

The first link I gave at about the third post on that thread gave some info about "The Prophecy Club".

I can only tell you that we first heard him there during that y2k hype time. Mind you I am pentacostal and believe strongly in the gifts and know prophets exist and whatever but I kept getting this check in my spirit on him. I later found out that he was 501c3 and whatever else that I intimated about since before Y2K, was because he was on the Prophecy Club show during all of the hype.

This is about "a prophet with a following".

If he never was in that Y2K group, he still would have to pass a lot of tests of what a true prophet does and doesn't do.

I've typed my fingers swollen on this thread, HA, actually I did, so I will leave you with Corey's joke about me and G&G ha, but I will tell you, that FIRST you must know what a prophet should and shouldn't be like or do before you can discern if what he is doing is right. That's what all of my posts were trying to say. My first was to cut slack but warning at the same time. I want to be fair, but I cannot endorse this man because of all the reasons I gave in all of these many posts.

We even got his mail for a while and I've never seen a "prophet" profit from prophecy until we started looking at him, except for some nut down in S.C.. Shortwave is full of very strange characters and that is why I listened to it a lot before I got a computer. I listened to it from '98 to 2001 or 2 when I got my computer, because I don't watch T.V. at all.
I bought my husband a Boom box for Christmas and it had S.W. in it's radio ... so there I went.
It's NUTS but we were into that type ministry of apologetics at that time.

So, it is entirely up to you who you follow brother.
I don't know what else to say except that we are all free to follow who we desire to.

I prefer not to follow folks who have these type associations and during that time of 98-99 and who make money doing it ... and can "prophesy" what anyone here could, with enough political knowledge of how things work. Which Hansen is not accurate in, but saying that is another whole discussion that I won't get into.

I believe we are living in the last days.
Hansen believes a bit differently because if you read that prophecy that you posted, that he kept adding to since 199?, at the very bottom he says ....

""To avoid the above, there must be a mighty, genuine revival (repentance) as in Nineveh (Jonah 3:5-10). Or, a powerful spirit of prayer must arise that will result in the mercy and grace of God as Abraham interceded for Sodom and Gomorrah (Genesis 18:23-33). There is hope! If we meet the conditions of God (II Chronicles 7:14), he will hear our call, forgive us and heal the land! If we do not meet the conditions, judgment will fall and all of the prophecies will come to pass.""

Well there's his "out". He predicted all these earthquakes but I have the earthquake link on my desktop and went back to 1990 and there is no increase in them. Is that because we are doing what he said ?

And others thought I was a prophet of doom. :-(

If a website must continue to update their webpage with "Articles" from the Newspaper that don't even fit their prophecy .... Awwwwwwwww .....

I give up friend. You can follow him wherever he's leading people to in the end.

Love in Jesus also ! No harm meant.

IRONMAN, you've said nothing that I don't agree with except for my one personal conviction. Did you read that article by Ravenhill about prophets ??? I just don't think one needs to tell folks that they are, because I think their "words" tell if they are. Only difference of opinion here ... not a condemnation at all ... just a personal conviction, that's all.

All His Best to you & yours.

And yet few on this board question any such prophecies made by the likes of Ravenhill or Wilkerson.

Actually... I do. There's been some things that each have said, or "prophecied", that I dont agree with.

I'm not prepared to burn either of them at the stake just yet because there is much both have said that is right on the money. But I dont buy into every thing.

I think there are other men who are more detrimental to the church than these two. Rick Warren comes to mind.

Hia Krispy, you know, I think you and Corey have a good idea there to just examine words of different folks.

I heard D.W. say that he wasn't a prophet but a watchman.

Now, unless he's changed that by his own admission, I think what he does is look at our current moral decline and lay it against God's word of what God does to places like that.

I don't follow him and haven't for 9 years because of some things he said in a few Newsletter messages. One, that the Dome of the Rock was the Abomination that causes desolation and just wee things similar, but I've love the man for all the years I've knew him and repect his work in N.Y.. I prayed with him in private and when I first got saved, he was a great person to learn a lot from.

Now Ravenhill, I only know from those Keith Green newsletter from over 20 years ago. So, I would have to have someone to point out prophesys he's made or anything like it.

I really do think this subject is important at this juncture and though Search_Me didn't start for all these men out there, I'd still like to look deeper into any who have either predicted things or the like.

Also, because I personally .... now this is just me, don't believe anymore that we should "follow" any one man. About 10 years ago that hit me like a ton of bricks.
I felt to just "agree where we agree" and that's about it for the folks I was getting mail or newletters or whatever from.
When they're right they're right but like all of us, when they're wrong - they're wrong.
Seems the first 20 years I was saved, I'd get to liking someone in a ministry and then splat, they'd fall or something or just go off on some tangent or false belief or whatever.

There are many I enjoy, like Alistair Begg and Charles Stanley and many others on Billy Graham's station up yonder, but can't say I "follow" them religiously and have small differences in opinion with them all, but they are no different than what we see here for "differences" that doesn't break fellowship or love.

I think if we lay it all out on the table, we'll see where to maybe draw the line and how to trust GOD more, instead of men. Seems to me that that is when we all get into some sort of dispute, when "what we've heard" is not what someone else "has heard". Ya think ? Maybe it would help us to trust God alone & more .... and someday soon, we may need to really really do that ?

Thank you or anyone else who will help look at all of this stuff and explore it without being mean-spirited. It's hard I know to stay calm when we've ever covered those obvious ones out there, but just trying to bring it in closer to home, to those that are more accepted in our circles, for our own growth, mine included.

Thanks!

I'm a little short on time, Grannie, but there was a book Wilkerson wrote back in the late 80's called something like "Set The Trumpet To Thy Mouth", or something similar to that.

In it he wrote about concert he went to which happened to be Mylon LeFevre & Broken Heart, a Christian band. This all took place a few years before I was saved... so I was a Johnny-come-lately... but anyway...

Wilkerson wrote about how he envisioned the head of the Devil rising up thru the stage and grapsing spiritual control of those in the audience.

Now, previously Wilkerson had a relationship with Keith Green, and wrote a few articles in Last Days about music. I've read this as well. He states he had been agaisnt any form of contemporary music... but since getting to know Keith Green God had shown him his need to change his position. And he did.

But then, 10 years later he did a complete 180 degree turn on the subject.

So did God change His mind between 1980 and 1990?

I've met Mylon LeFevre. Unfortunately, he is now a Word of Faith preacher, but he does love Jesus. If you know anything about his testimony, God miraculously changed his life and saved him from a wretched lifestyle. I dont agree with his theology, but I dont doubt the man's salvation one bit.

At the time Wilkerson wrote this book, Mylon was NOT Word of Faith. That came later on after he retired from music. Mylon loved the Lord and was leading people around the world to the Lord.

My point in all of this is that this is one example of how Mr. Wilkerson seems to be receiving mixed messages from God. And during an event where the gospel is being preached (Mylon was famous for doing 2 hour concerts where there was 35% music and 65% preaching), people were accepting the Lord (not going to get into the "easy-believism" debate right now).... and Wilkerson is seeing a Devil's head? A vision that is contradicting the message he supposedly received from the Lord a decade earlier?

That makes me hesitate. I dont put much stock in dreams and visions. I do believe God gives such things, but I believe 90% of what people tell today is looney tunes. I've seen and heard too much to trust much of it.

This isnt my first rodeo, ya know.

One MAJOR difference I see between men like Wilkerson, Ravenhill, and two bit prophets who have a message every time the wind blows is that David Wilkerson and Leonard Ravenhill stick to interpreting the times we live in by the way they interpret the scriptures, not because they hear voices every time they grab a microphone or set down at a keyboard.

They also haven't (didn't in bro. Ravenhill's case) made prophetic utterances their business, rather, the exposition of the revealed word of God which is prophetic "par-excellance."

Understand the Word of God properly, believe it completely, live it in the power of the Holy Spirit, preach it correctly and when you die they'll declare you were a prophet to your generation.

The church must remain strong in intercession in 2007 as foundations of faith and Bible absolutes will be challenged by political and humanistic spirits in Christian nations. God will raise up spokespeople who will be a voice for uncompromised truth in the nations. These ones will suffer persecution both in the world and in the church for their righteous stands. A separation will come in the church between those who are fully committed to Bible truth and those who compromise.

Only difference of opinion here ... not a condemnation at all ... just a personal conviction, that's all.

i have read the article before and certainly it paints a good picture of what a Prophet is. i would say that there is a great misunderstanding of what a Prophet is which in some cases necessitates an explicit stating of one's calling in that area and explanation of what that entails. This is my conviction which i believe God gave me so that as many as would should come to a proper understanding of this office and function. i feel that this is very necessary and comes with the Jealousy for that office. If it is not defined what a Prophet is, then there is a tendancy for anyone to be labelled as such and often incorrectly. There is a difference in being a Prophet and having the Gift of Prophecy also, some have the latter but are labelled Prophets but are not.

indeed it would seem that the word given by the Prophet would set of buzzers but the testimony of scripture says otherwise.

i hope that shed some light on my convictions concerning this.

In the leading post, one sentence stands by itself:

But, I will bring you down; like the wind brings down the tree, so I will bring you down.
This sentence reminds me of the recurring theme in our sister Dian's word, which the Lord gave her.

A Word from God to the Church
given on May 18, 2004

I say, the Wind of my Spirit is about to blow across this continent, says the Lord. This is my warning and my decree and my promise.

The warning is to those who have been lukewarm in their seeking.

The decree is to my enemy, here, to let my people go!

The promise is to those who have submitted themselves to me and cried out to me that I will pour out my spirit in these Last Days.

I say to those recieving the warning, put on your sackcloth and ashes. Rend your garments. Weep and mourn and seek me with your whole heart and I will breathe on your dead bones. Don't kid yourself any longer. You have thought that you were rich, but the truth is, you are in abject spiritual poverty. You have thought that you were fully clothed, but the truth is, you are naked. Pray that I will have mercy upon you and open the eyes of your understanding. Humble yourselves before me until you feel the wind of my Spirit. If something inside you wiggles or jumps as a witness to this word, then lay yourself before me as an offering and I will consume the sacrifice, says the Lord.
Now, to my enemies, you Jezebel, who has intimidated and held my people, I say, "It's over! Your time is up! Release your position, now!"

Blow, Wind, upon my enemies for destruction!

Blow, Wind, upon those lukewarm to bring division!

Blow, Wind upon my people to bring the Last Days promised revival!

To you who believe me, I will release a new wine and I will make you a new wineskin to contain it. You will be changed in this hour! There will be no more looking back. Look not, back! Flee to the spiritual mountains, the high places which you have dreamed about! Run! Run now, to me! Remember not the former days of thy spiritual youth. Run to me, now! We have a work to do. Fear not. Do not be dismayed, for I will take you there! I will not leave you. Don't look at the appearance of anything which opposes me. Look always to me and I will carry you over the top.

Greetings in Jesus' Name by Whose Blood we are Saved. AMEN.

what i was saying was that when the Prophets of God went forth with His word for the people, one would think the people would get it right away. However the scripture's testimony is that they didn't get it (or few did) because where judgment was spoken of, it came because men didn't repent. The same is true today, we would like to think that we would reeive the words sent to us through the Prophets, but we often don't for whatever reason. Perhaps we don't like the idea of repenting constantly as much as we think we do...i believe that the more we press into God, the more we are quickened to our fallen state and the Grace of God through Christ so that we Repent, repent, repent and repent some more, then after that repent, repent...well you get the idea.

Grace and Peace be ours in Jesus' Name. AMEN.

Brother FreebyWord, this is the way to go - with Scripture to back you.

I spoke to someone last month about how God uses His own Word to "speak forth".

When folks use their own words, it confuses people and gets them splitting hairs and debating forever over what the person said, etc., etc..

God's Word speaks for itself, but we like our own. There was a time that I would post mostly just scripture like you have done, but then people post back at you wanting dialoge. So we have to keep replying with our own words ... but I guess that 'is' fellowship after all.

When God fine tunes these prophecies out of men, it will go according to Scripture perfectly.
The True Character of GOD comes across in their words also.
Not a twisted God or Jesus or The Holy Spirit.

I thought this thread went well and thank you for it. Bless The Name of Jesus.

Ironman, we need His Name spoken now more than ever and I thank you for every time you do.

Regards to everyone that has posted here... and sorry that I'm late to the party. But this issue strikes upon some of my thoughts and feelings.

So far virtually all of this discussion has been about Prophets, whether this man is a false prophet or not, or how to tell false from true prophets, etc.

How about we look past whether this man is a prophet or not (since we cannot judge his soul) and we look at what he has prophecied... or what he claims God has spoken to him?

Can anyone look at what was spoken and dispute with it? And if not, then don't we, as Christians, have a duty to correct those other christians that have this judgement passed upon them? And don't we have a duty to purge ourselves, and judge ourselves, that we can be sure we are not those types of christian?

I think this issue deserves, at the very least, some deep self-introspection.

I do not believe the end of America is nigh, however troubles for America is nigh. The United States hasn't reached it's zenith in total rejection of God. There are many righteous people that still inhabit this great land, that still are making up the hedge and standing in the gap. Many woes will come to a nation that finally rejects God, the bible says that it would be turned into hell.

Sodom had absolutely no righteous persons in it save lot and his two daughters (even that is questionable) The United States however has multitudes of believers. It doesn't matter if they are not practicing Christians, lot certainly wasn't practicing any faith, he wanted to stay in Sodom. He was righteous because he was connected to Abraham. We are righteous before God because our connection with Jesus Christ.

Israel was righteous before God because of Abraham. Even though Israel was hardly faithful, yet God loved her and sustained her. Chastised her and brought her back into good relations with Himself. The Church is in the same situation. Because of our connection with the Son of God, we too have gone astray, yet in His love He has chasten us.

America has many righteous inhabitants, America's doom is not nigh at hand. America is going to face hardships like she has never had before. And God will be glorified during this time because many will look to Him for answers.

Linn, I have heard such words before and I have been a sucker for believing in it. Yes we are to seek the LORD with all of our hearts thats a given. Year after year the same message and it always seems to be more heightened when there is a war going on, or when there is an earthquake or some other natural disaster.

Nothing "wiggled or jumped" in my spirit. You know I can pull out a prophecy message too, this message HAS NOT COME FROM THE LORD:

Yay, I say unto thee, if thou wilt confess thy sins and humble thyself and seek my face, I will be merciful unto thee. For you are a beloved people to me, saith the LORD. If you will just seek me saith the LORD, I will pour out a blessing that you will not be able to withstand. The hour is late, the time is far spent, darkness is coming. Oh my people, hearken unto me for I am thy great light and thy salvation. Look to me and no other and thou shalt find pastures that will satisfy your souls. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow you all the days your life. Thus saith the LORD.
You see, anyone can do that. And yet the above words are not false, they are true in every way, it's just hasn't come from the LORDS mind for this time. Anyone can stand up in a church and spiel off all kinds of words and we all sit back and respond by saying, "ohh and ahh".

I am for prophecies, but I have heard them all and they are not worth hearing anymore. The only ones that I pay heed too are the ones that speak directly to my spirit because only God knows what I have been praying about.

Compliments, I think your 'prophecy' ably explains one of the ways any prophecy is to be judged - by the word of God - and by those who also know Him.

Compliments, am I to believe that this Prophecy, which, as I see, contains no ungodliness or error, is false or of the flesh, or worse, of a false spirit?

Am I to believe this because you have said the words are right yet the words are not from the Lord?

What do you base this on?

Do you base this on a word from the Lord, which the man who gave the prophecy also bases his word on?

Do you base this on a subjective feeling which you cannot show to be true, anymore than the man who spoke this prophecy can show to be true (until it comes to pass)?

I do not seek to cause division.I am not seeking to divide yourself and I.

I simply seek to know why you call this prophetic utterance not of God due to your personally not "feeling" it in "your spirit".

This, of course, cannot be trusted, as Scripture alone must be our sole authority, and I see this man's Prophetic utterance as not being against the Revealed word of God.

His word is much more Biblically sound than your "inner witness" which has no Biblical basis.

I'm hurt that you would speak such things openly and publically, calling into question a man whom you do not know nor have prayed with nor have met face to face in the power of the Spirit.

It is a dangerous and harmful thing to speak such to the Body of Christ concerning what could possibly be a correct warning from God.

I am not defending the prophecy as much as I am asking why you would speak such against it, when even you have admitted there is nothing wrong with it, save your "feeling" that it doesn't "speak to your spirit".

Many among us are asleep and cannot hear nor see what the Spirit says and is doing.

Perhaps you may seek the Lord for ears to hear and eyes to see.

I pray we remain bonded in the Spirit of Unity through Him who loved us and gave Himself for us.

Greetings in Jesus' Name by Whose Blood we are Saved.AMEN.

I do not believe the end of America is nigh, however troubles for America is nigh. The United States hasn't reached it's zenith in total rejection of God. There are many righteous people that still inhabit this great land, that still are making up the hedge and standing in the gap. Many woes will come to a nation that finally rejects God, the bible says that it would be turned into hell.

i believe that troubles are coming upon us which will put an end to America as we know it. in that sense the end is nigh. However the desolation which is coming is not a wiping out of all people here but a Judgment which will put an end to the America we know now that God may bring forth something else.

America has many righteous inhabitants, America's doom is not nigh at hand. America is going to face hardships like she has never had before. And God will be glorified during this time because many will look to Him for answers.

AMEN, this is what i believe also.

Grace and PEace are ours in Jesus.AMEN.
