Randy and Paula White announce divorce

S
swsojourner

TAMPA - As a team, pastors Randy and Paula White attracted tens of thousands to Without Walls International Church. But behind the picture perfect image, the couple's 18-year marriage was in trouble.

At Thursday night's service, they announced plans to divorce. Both have been divorced before.

"I believe the leadership establishes some principles when it comes to fidelity and marriage, and when it comes to the fiber of a family," says Pastor Donald Lott of True Worship Christian Center in Temple Terrace.

Lott is familiar with the church, and both pastors. He has family who attend Without Walls.

"By all means, a pastor should at all times be able to recognize when he is in crisis and his hope is in the word of God, and should all be able to rise above our circumstances in situations such as this," Lott said

Randy and Paula White built their multi-million dollar evangelical empire by offering what they called "the perfect church, for those who aren't." That message catapulted Paula White to international stardom as a televangelist and author. Her husband has been less high profile, mostly leading the church at home.

The couple shares a $2 million dollar home on Bayshore Boulevard, along with a private jet. Some say the pastors have been spending more time apart as they buy property and pursue ministries elsewhere. Paula White owns a Trump Towers condo in New York City and a home in San Antonio. Randy White is reportedly leasing property in Malibu.

"The scripture says the love of money is the root of all evil, and you have to evaluate your priorities," Pastor Lott says. "And without us knowing what their priorities are, I would hope they'd be on the Kingdom."

But with their lavish lifestyle on display, critics say what the Whites were preaching was a message of prosperity at the expense of humility and family values.

Now with its leadership split, the church faces its own test of survival.

Great, another couple that drags the name of Jesus in the dirt. However having watched her on TV the feeling of a shallow ministry has always been evident. Sad but true!!!

Paula White would never allow her husband to
have authority over her or to take his place
as head of the household. Sad to say, they
don't regard the covenant of marriage as
a sacred bond!!

This tabloid story reminds me of Ham who disclosed the sin of his Dad, Noah to his brothers. We know what God thought about that! Let us be careful not to repeat the same sin.

I have no clue who these people are, but I am convinced that God is not finished with them. God’s story is still in the making, so let’s not tar and feather them yet or go tut-tut-tut....

Just recently I heard about a divorced pastor couple. He has proved unfaithful to the Lord, but she has gone on to serve him humbly. What a testimony she is to the countless who suffer in tough relational situations – be it as a spouse, a child of abusive parents etc. I met her at a wedding and she just radiates Christ.

Let us not underestimate God. He especially uses the fallen to glorify his name and proclaim his mercy. Can we partner with him in that mission?

well, it's not a tabloid story..they announced their divorce before their congregation. So no Noah analogy can be drawn. Pretty big news.

Without Walls is a mega-church and Paula White is on TBN and other programs. The Whites lived their lifestyle AS AN EXAMPLE to fellow Christians who weren't walking in prosperity

The day before, Prophetess Juanita Bynum's husband was arrested for choking her in the parking lot of a hotel. I guess that would be tabloid. :)

I am not surprised friends. As I heard about Juanita Bynum and her husband the other night. The White's fell in my thoughts that they were next to hit the wall, and I knew nothing about their troubles.

Nope, I am not a self proclaimed prophet or otherwise, it just fell in my spirit...

Pray Saints, judgement is being revealed and it will not let up until we drop down(humble-sackcloth type prayers) continually before the MAker.

Dear saints, Greetings in Jesus' Name by Whose Blood we are Saved.AMEN.

brethren i heard about Randy and Paula splitting on these boards and i was saddened. Dear saints, i hope we are lifting these couples up in prayer that God restore them to Himself and restore us all to one another as to Him. yes indeed there was much flaunting of a lifestyle inconsistent with scripture in many ways, yes there was a wrong arrangement in terms of who led the ministry, and yes this prosperity nonsense is being revealed for the lie it is and those who preached it are being rejected one by one very publically. That being said dear saints, i hope we pray for these our brethren who are in need of much Grace now. if i ever dare think i am beyond any of what they are going through, God lets me know in a minute and He then reminds me of the Mercy He has shown me for my own adulteries and fornications and other iniquities. Then i bless Him for His Mercy and of late brethren, i can't help but show others the same Mercy shown me...let us never forget the Mercy shown us on Calvary! oh that our God would indeed receive the rewards of His Labours...that the Mercy shown to us which we realize would be shed abroad to as many people as there are!

i didn't even know about Juanita Bynum and her husband's fiasco either. May God extend to us Grace to Hold up our brethren in prayer that they may be restored lest Satan steal them away forever or take advantage of us by dividing us and making those of us who should be extending forgiveness think more of ourselves than we ought because we're not guilty...

God brought to me 1 Corinthains 5 and 2 Corinthians 2 which speaks to matters such as this. let us prayerfully consider what God is saying through our brother Paul who himself was the recepient of this Mercy and Grace and saw what he was apart from it...the chief of sinners...

let us pray for our brethren and for one another and show Mercy. i am not saying that whatever consequences for this should be spared them, but that in it all, we show Mercy.

Grace and Peace are ours in Jesus.AMEN.

Interesting that Paula White and Juanita Bynum are both refered to in this thread ... Perhaps if we were more in tune to the (God breathed) Pauline ordinances to the Church we could bypass much of our current crapola ... Perhaps this is all part of God's correction beginning in His own house ...

To be perfectly honest i'm really turned off (both naturally and spiritually) by what i concider to be loud mouthed, boisterous, preaching women ... i've always concidered, and refered to, Paula White as "scary", because altho she seemed to come from a sincere place, the intensity and manic-ness of her style and delivery is just way to over the top for me, and i'm not one to prone to listen to any so called preacher (male or female) who constanly uses that verse i still can't find in my Bible yet ... namely, "Pick up that phone"!!!

Now of Juanita Bynum, i don't even give her the same benefit of the doubt as i do with Paula White ... Somehow it struck me highly improbable that a real woman of God (especially a prophetess) would spend a reported million dollars on a wedding, and sport an 8 carat wedding ring ... To me Bynum is overly pretentious and hits my spirit as a Jezebel (Rev. 20:2), in the sense that she is both a usurper of authority over men, and a despiser of such authority, manipulative and decietful, and more than likely (yes i'm supposing here) it was her mouth that got her the beat down in the parking lot ...

Actually both she (a so called prophetess) and here husband (an alledged Bishop) should have never, if following the counsel of the Word, ever to have come to such an un-Christian public display, but as a saint yes, but also as an African-American man, in their doing so i can just picture her running her wickedly cutting and smart mouth off at him in ways that only an African-American woman can, and the next thing you know Bishop reverted back to bruh-man and was all up-side her head ... Now if i'm wrong here i ask our Lord's forgiveness, but if the man got up from the meeting in the restaraunt apparently he wasn't liking what he was hearing, so why would a woman of God follow him into the parking lot? ...

In Paula White's case my prayers do go out to her and her husband that whatever lessons God wants them to learn they learn ... Now in Bynum's case i actually had to repent to our Lord of my first response to hearing the news that she'd been beat down, and it was, "Good enuf for her"! ... Now i admit it was'nt a Christlike response, but one moreso out of my flesh, much for the reasons i already stated above, and so now after repentance my prayers (as for the Whites) apply equally to her and her husband ... i can only pray that neither of them, especially Bynum, attempt to play the "sympathy" card here, because especially in Bynum's case, i'll just see it as further manipulation towards their means ...

At 57 and twice divorced, at this point in my salvation walk i'm more than happy with being, and remaining, totally married to our Lord, and whatever work He has for me to do ... :-D

Sadly, in an age where pastors are becoming more and more "professionals," the mentality of being a father of the faith has declined. Thus, glaring character flaws are simply overlooked or not even considered at all. So long as the pastor can preach, manage, and grow a church, this is all that seems to matter.

Randy White Makes Emotional Return To Without Walls Pulpit
By JEFF SCULLIN The Tampa Tribune

Published: Aug 27, 2007

TAMPA - Days after its founders announced they plan to divorce, Without Walls International Church got back to business Sunday.

The 9 a.m. service drew about 1,000 people - a typical crowd for the early service during summer months. After a typically high-energy service, few members wanted to talk about the impending split between Randy and Paula White, though.

One woman who did speak after the service, Katrina Singleton, 35, of Brandon, said the couple's separation might affect the church. Some members tend to follow Randy, while others follow Paula, she said.

"I was really surprised," Singleton said.

After a rare joint appearance Thursday night, when the co-founders delivered the news to a stunned congregation, Randy White returned to the pulpit alone, as expected. White told the Tribune last week that his wife had returned to New York Friday morning, after they made their announcement.

That wasn't unusual. In the past year, as her own ministry has evolved, Paula White's appearances at the North Grady Avenue church have become sporadic.

No mention was made of Thursday's announcement at the 9 a.m. service, where White preached for a few minutes before turning over the pulpit to Ralph Messer, a Messianic rabbi from Denver who teaches about the Hebrew roots of the Christian faith.

Messer preached about the Torah and Jewish entrepreneurship and spoke again at the 11 a.m. service, where he led the congregation in a prayer that ended emotionally for White.

"I declare today that my bishop has entered into a new season, a new season, a new season," Messer intoned, prompting White's followers. "Now, give him glory. Praise God."

As emotions in the sanctuary reached a high point, Messer hugged White, telling him, "I love you. I love you so much." White, a prayer shawl draped over his shoulders, stood clutching a Torah scroll, head bowed, with a pained expression on his face.

Then White made his way to the podium, as his congregation cheered, buried his face in a black cloth and appeared to sob. Shortly after receiving a supportive hug from Messer, White appeared to crumble completely. His shoulders sagged, and he laid his head on his arm at the podium and gave way to even deeper sobbing. Eventually, Messer and a host of black-suited ministers gathered, laid their hands on White and formed a tight prayer circle around him.

On the video monitor behind White, the words "international church" appeared to hover over White's prostrate body, as though he were carrying them on his back.

Intended or not, the symbolism may prove prophetic.

In his interview with the Tribune last week, White said he plans to resume his role as the church's senior pastor and that he has put on hold plans to start another church in Malibu, Calif.

The Whites founded Without Walls in 1991 as the South Tampa Christian Center. Since then, the church has become one of the nation's biggest and fastest-growing churches, boasting 23,000 members and nearly $40 million in revenues last year.

The Whites, who've been married nearly 18 years, said last week that the split is amicable and comes after visits to counselors over several years.

They blame two lives going in different directions.

Now, they will have to find a way to separate their interests without damaging the church they built.

Those logging on to Without Walls' Web site Sunday to watch services saw no signs of a separation. The site continues to display a picture of the Whites together and to promote Paula White Ministries, which contributes between $50,000 and $80,000 a week to the church, Randy White said last week.

White said his wife would come back as a guest speaker and continue supporting the church for a while.

She will have bases in New York, and San Antonio, Texas, where she has homes, and in California. White said he would remain in the couple's Bayshore Boulevard home.

The couple, who are using the same law firm for their divorce, plan to file as soon as they can work out the details of dividing their assets, Randy White said. That could happen as early as this week, he said.

S
Santana

The couple shares a $2 million dollar home on Bayshore Boulevard, along with a private jet.

This convinced me that God's hand was upon their life. I'm a little confused now. :-P I'm not trying to make light of it but I'm so tired of Christians defending the WOF.

But anyway, the story of Juanita Bynum and Paula White (never heard of her) has just really prompted me to pray for my own pastors because the world is just waiting for the next one to fall so they can say, "See. I told you. The church is full of hypocrites!"

And you know what? If people would not give these guys any money, they could not accumulate such stinking wealth - all acquired by preying on the sympathies of the gullible 'Christian'. Somehow I suspect these donors will have to give account someday to Someone for their enabling of the false prophet

Men and women of God chasing after all sorts of other things being given over to reprobate minds...we too must take heed lest we ourselves are given over...What is happening is the exposure of this fallicy of this prosperity nonsense. the proponents of it are running into all sorts of ussues one by one and it seems to me God is vomitting.

i read the article which spoke of the divorce. some things which struck me were the church is $22 mil in the hole? YIKES! The shadiness of RAW real estate...something is more than amiss...

bro Krispy is dead on when he said that unqualified people will fail ultimately...

in the truth of all that, i hope we remember to lift these up in prayer that God open eyes, soften hearts (including our own lest we fall prey also) that He may restore His children to Himself, correcting us and setting us straight.

Grace and Peace are ours in Jesus.AMEN.

--- i heard a preacher say this Sunday that God does three things with His people before He drops His hammer (correction) ...

- He Warns ...

- He Waits ...

- He Weeps ...

But there's a fourth step, one the preacher forgot to mention, the one that WE DO in response
to His finally dropping His hammer (correction) ...

- We Wail ...

Joel.1

[7] He hath laid my vine waste, and barked my fig tree: he hath made it clean bare, and cast it away; the branches thereof are made white.
[8] Lament like a virgin girded with sackcloth for the husband of her youth.
[9] The meat offering and the drink offering is cut off from the house of the LORD; the priests, the LORD's ministers, mourn.
[10] The field is wasted, the land mourneth; for the corn is wasted: the new wine is dried up, the oil languisheth.
[11] Be ye ashamed, O ye husbandmen; howl, O ye vinedressers, for the wheat and for the barley; because the harvest of the field is perished.
[12] The vine is dried up, and the fig tree languisheth; the pomegranate tree, the palm tree also, and the apple tree, even all the trees of the field, are withered: because joy is withered away from the sons of men.
[13] Gird yourselves, and lament, ye priests: howl, ye ministers of the altar: come, lie all night in sackcloth, ye ministers of my God: for the meat offering and the drink offering is withholden from the house of your God.
[14] Sanctify ye a fast, call a solemn assembly, gather the elders and all the inhabitants of the land into the house of the LORD your God, and cry unto the LORD,
[15] Alas for the day! for the day of the LORD is at hand, and as a destruction from the Almighty shall it come.

Joel.2
[12] Therefore also now, saith the LORD, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning:
[13] And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil.
[14] Who knoweth if he will return and repent, and leave a blessing behind him; even a meat offering and a drink offering unto the LORD your God?
[15] Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly:
[16] Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children, and those that suck the breasts: let the bridegroom go forth of his chamber, and the bride out of her closet.
[17] Let the priests, the ministers of the LORD, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, Spare thy people, O LORD, and give not thine heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them: wherefore should they say among the people, Where is their God?

Some might think this OT quotation a bit over the top in reference to the NT Church ... But i believe with all my heart that we of the Church here in America will know pretty soon whether it is or not ...

This is the first I am hearing about Randy and Paula White's divorce...and also the first I have heard of the news regarding Juanita Bynum and her husband.
I am near to tears here.
Altho this is "news" to me, I am not surprised.

Years ago...many years ago; Paula's ministry was encouraging to me, and so was Juanita's....

However,
Over the past several years I have noticed so much was not right...my spirit was terribly grieved with what I heard and saw come from them.
There was a terrible change, and I did not sense the Holy Spirit at all in what was being said. I could not stand to hear them or see them and I stopped watching "Christian Television" all together...I do not EVER put it on...It has become so grossly offensive, and embarrassing to the Name of Christ...I could just cry.

I know that common opinion may be, "why are you saddened by this, it is typical of false ministries"...
I know that ... but I am broken hearted.

I want to shake them all and say, "Stop it...step away, walk away, forget your so called ministries...they are just "empires" in your names, let them go and get your lives in order...drop everything else and especially your knees, and start back at the beginning, the foot of the Cross..."

Oh I am so frustrated...look what pride and worldly success does....

If I am coming acrossed judgemental and self righteous, than I am using the wrong computer keys to formulate words...I am just sick at heart that the dear Name of Jesus is dragged thru the mud again...AGAIN ...

When humility is no longer visible in the life of an ambassador of Christ, then Christ is no longer being presented.

I read several years ago, when young black men were asked why they are leaving the Church in droves for Islam, time and again their response was they found mentoring fathers in Islam they couldn't find in the Church.

Ya know, this is very key, and is something I've thought about lately, and am going to do a teaching on it when the Lord prepares it in my heart.

One of the things that the so-called "seeker sensitive" churches are doing is they are driving out the older generations. Rick Warren has written in one of his books, and teaches in his leadership training that pastors who implement his techniques of "church growth" will be resisted by "older Christians", and he is encouraging these pastors to let these people leave... dont try to keep them, they'll just be a hinderance.

Now churches have a contemporary service and a traditional service, seperating the generations.

This is a huge mistake!

I want my children around saints who have been walking with the Lord for 60 years! There is a sweet elderly couple who my wife and I met while we lived in TN, and we love them dearly. This man is 80 now and is still active. Every time we see them he is outside chopping wood. This man challenges me. Whenever I see him the first thing out of his mouth is "Are you praying with your wife everyday??" He says this while poking a finger in my chest. He is so intimate and mature with the Lord he makes me feel totally inept.

There is an elderly couple in their 80's here locally that we love to get together with. They thrill our kids of stories about being missionaries in Russia, Eastern Europe and Alaska.

Most of my spiritual mentors have been men in their 70's & 80's. Men who are on their knees before God every morning and every night. Men who have walked the walk for decades.

If the church removes that, you end up with immature Christians mentoring immature Christians, and it turns into a mess like Paula Whites church. Most Christians I know my age are not nearly entrenched in the Lord as men my dad's age.

KJ is right... the church needs fathers. Not contemporary "God is your buddy" good-time Charlie Christians.

This is so tragic.

The first century church wasn't afraid of being a sect. Her clean division from the world was her relevancy to it. The Church used to have leaders that raised walls against the flood...but today more and more leaders open the floodgates in the name of cultural relevancy, and compassion, and let everyone in their congregations, saints and sinners, drown together.

It is a common notion that God sees all sins as equal. I do not believe he does. The bible uses phrases such as "the greater sin" (John 19:11) and "greater abominations then these"... (Ezekial 8) These are the sins of false religous leaders who sell their souls for worldly gain.

And then there is the dreadful warning of Luke 12:47.

If only these people would feel sorrow for their transgressions. Then the Lord would forgive them and correct their paths. But they have no interest in repentance, and because they continue to lead millions of people astray in the name of the Lord, they risk the greatest condemnation of all.

The Lord knows I pray for mercy more then judgement, but I believe we are to hate these types of 'ministries' more then any other sin we see in America. My heart is broken over this nonsense. How can these 'teachers' be so self-centered when they have been entrusted with so much influence over God's people?

I wish them no harm or suffering. I do not ask for fire to come down on them. I pray the Lord is able to be merciful in his wisdom to their souls. But as for me and my family...I'll teach my children to recognize and have no respect for leaders like this.

Blessings saints,... love one another as Christ has loved all of us. Gaurd your hearts against cycnicism towards one another because of these shameful events. Pray to be given enlarged hearts to forgive one anothers sins against us. Certainly forgive one anothers' petty differences, so that we can stand together in the coming days. Those who are rich in either spiritual or material supplies, don't be stingy during spiritual and material famines to those who are poor. Give freely and by doing so we'll keep our hearts free of the fearful snares that caught these pitiful leaders.

In one way, it is right to be sensitive to seekers. But be sensitive to their eternal states...not their sinful and destructive interests. Even as I please all men in all things, not seeking mine own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved.

Bonnie,

You are prime example of what can easily happen to a person who has been blessed by some ministry. God will use his word to draw people to himself and it may not matter what the vessel looks like. Remember Jesus' words when he talked about the people who appear before the judgement seat, but were condemned? The miracle workers, the ones who had done many wonderful things in his name? Think for a moment about this. The reality is that people in high profile ministires may not be walking with God at all, but are using 'religion' to support their fine ego trip!

Bonnie, this is sad, I know. But what often happens to the new-born Christian is he/she places these people on a pedestal and in essence eventually idolizes them, violating the first of the ten commandments: "Thou shalt have no other gods before me." It is in our best interests to know when we have done this so we can keep people, ministries in the proper perspective. These 'Christian celebrities' are just as accountable to God as the person on the street with no 'ministry'.

Bonnie, when I was a child, I highly esteemed my grandfather. He was a minister, well loved by his congregation and grandchildren, of whom I was the third to the oldest. He took a special interest in me and I loved him much in return. However, in time God demonstrated to me how my esteem was excessive and he showed me how Grandfather also needed a Savior. When I became aware of this, my attitude towards him changed radically. To this day, I am very gratefull for my maternal grandfather, but I no longer idolize him. Follow me?

Blessings,

Good Morning Ginnyrose...
How sweet of you to care so much and reply as you have to me...
It is actually funny...that was my sorrow, was that many who put their "faith or confidence" in these high profile "teachers" get dismayed and even leave their walk with the Lord...
That is not me...I must tell you...but looking at my post, it appears that I am sad, because these people disappointed me...
No, my sorrow is for the Name of Jesus being questioned to baby Christians and to the world.

I am very sensitive to what is "right teaching" and false...so all it takes is for me to see one misguided guidance and I am on the alert...

I do think that some ministers "start off" in the right direction...but then pride and the distorted thought that "they" are the reason they are drawing crowds, gets people so far off track that they are deceived and eventually fall completely from that sin of pride.

I am not a new Christian...I am so much a lover and listener of the Men of God on SI and really anything less than their direct deliverance of Truth and their clarity of the Gospel, I don't even listen to...

Have a wonderful Day...
Thank you again for your reply...
God Bless You !!!!

As a father I truly try to get my family together as often as I can and we stop what were doing and get into a circle and pray, I will pray for their needs, for their spiritual life their holiness, their relationship to our Lord.
If these leaders "so called" would not be so busy building "their" empires and concetrating on their realtionship with God, divorce would be a thing of the past.
Divorce happens because they are not right with God, and he has blinded them, and is bringing them under a curse. because "their" ministry, money, houses, jets, you name it has become their idol's.
Wise discerning Christian believers will not give to these ministries.
yes we will be accountable to who we give to.
My two cents worth. :-)

Actually we should not receive that Randy and Paula are divorcing

I agree completely with your post. We should pray for them, absolutely.

But I couldnt help notice the first line of your post... do you realize this is what is called in WOF as "positive confession"? The words you say have supernatural power, and put faith into motion... and all the rest of that garbly-gook.

Interesting to see how WOF has so saturated the church today, is it not?

Krispy, your last post (of many I've noticed) is confusing. You begin the post saying you agree with everything MrBill wrote, then appear to criticize and denounce everything he wrote.

Please spell it out for the dim witted.

Actually we should not receive that Randy and Paula are divorcing, instead as believers we should pray for complete and total restoration because in these last days the enemy's plan is to divide Gods people, but that is where the Body of Christ comes in to pray and intercede on the rest of the bodies behalf.

The body of Christ? The body of antichrist maybe, these are false teachers, enemies of the cross, mark and avoid them. it is the enemies plan to make people believe that they are part of the body of Christ, rather then the great whore.

i believe that krispy was just saying that he agreed with the fact that we need to pray that the white's would repent and reconcile. all he seems to be saying was that even the wording of "not receiving the divorce" is wording used in the WOF movement. that even if we don't believe in the WOF movement, it is so prominent that we even sometimes use the exact wording of it without knowing it.. i think that is all he meant, at least it seems like that from his post.

but i'm not krispy, so that is just my guess. love you guys.

Someone said, 'look what happens when people place these ministers on a pedestal.' These and many like them, place themselves on this pedestal! And God knocked it out from under them! Chinese missionary said this about America: "The great thing Americans can accomplish without God!" I think anyone can fill a church, and just because it is a mega-church doesn't mean its blessed by God.

My prayer is that they will repent and leave the ministry and find the Jesus Christ.

You mean the Health and Wealth, Name It and Claim It, or Prosperity gospel, I really did not mean to project that, I think krispy was stereotyping me because I attend Lakewood, but I can set there and still receive "only" what God intends for me to hear, I mean I think this is possible. :-)

i understand that "self-will" can put and/or keep folk in a pastorial position even when the Pauline ordinances of Scripture say otherwise ...

But in the newspaper article posted by Monday it said;

"The Whites, who've been married nearly 18 years, said last week that the split is amicable and comes after visits to counselors over several years.

They blame two lives going in different directions."

The latter statement struck me as really perplexing ... How can a couple allegedly in ministerial partnership, be going in different directions? ...

Christ said a house divided cannot stand, yet they were supposed to be of the same Spirit (the same direction) ... If i could ask the Whites anything, i'd ask them just what they mean by "going in different directions" ... :-o

as my wife and i talked about this she asked the same question. how does a couple which is supposed to be working for the same God end up going in different directions? :-? it seems plain that one or both (i'd say both) of these 2 appointed themselves as pastors. in one of the articles concerning this i read something to the effect of "the show must go on" in that they would both continue to preach, Randy in Florida and Paula in San Antonio, with Paul visiting every now and then. it seems these our brethren think this is a show.

i suppose they were of the same spirit in this matter, in it not so much for God's Glory as for their own...

someone said that this sort of thing doesn't happen in the real body, only in the counterfeit, even if this is so, we all get lumped together anyway. praying for God to resolve this in His way at His own time.AMEN.

Grace and PEace are ours in Jesus.AMEN.

Saints,

Randy and Paula cannot be married to one another because they are both divorced, so they are still bound to their first spouses.

People living lifestyles like theirs are not fit to be pastors anyhow. (Self Indulgent and Luxurious).

Paula cannot pastor a Church because she is a woman.

It is like no one reads their bibles anymore.

Bill Bill Bill... dear brother... I'm well aware you're an Osteen-head. We all have our faults...lol.

But to be honest, that didnt enter my head. I dont wanna nit pick and get off on a tangent, but you said we should not "receive" that they are getting a divorce. Whether you meant it the way I took it or not, fact is that is terminology created by WOF. Whether we "receive" it or not, the reality of the situation is... they are getting a divorce, unless God performs a miracle in their lives.

WOF teaches that our words have power. They go back to creation and show that creation happened by God's words... He spoke it, it happened. I tend to think he put a little more thought into creation than just "speaking it into existence". I know how it's worded in Genesis, but do you know how long Genesis would be if the author took time to note how many nano-seconds it took God to come up with DNA? We cant even begin to fathom how God created all these things in 6 days. But I'm sure in God's wisdom He created and designed and engineered... and then said "Let there be...", and there was.

Anyway, no where in scripture is it indicated that our words have the power to speak things into being. And WOF teaches that if we confess negative things... we will be cursed with negative things.

I used to do this stuff. I'd be sick with a cold, but I would never admit I was sick. I would always confess that God blesses His children with perfect health. One time I had the flu, and y'all, I was sick as a dog. For three days I couldnt get out of the recliner, and it felt like there was a blow-torch in my lungs. I was probably close to pnuemonia, but I refused to go to the doctor becuase that would be a negative confession.

Man was I sick! I'll never forget it. My wife went out to get some groceries during this illness, and the TV was on Leave it to Beaver when she left, and apparently it was a marathon because she came back home 3 1/2 hours later, and Beaver was still on. She said "Arent you tired of that show yet?" ... I said "Yeah, but the remote is between my knees and I'm too weak to reach down there to get it."

All that to say this... I reefused to "receive" that I was sick. The reality was... I was sick. Didnt matter what my words said, the flu had to run it's course.

And every one of these "positive confession" WOF'ers will die someday. Most of the faith healers from the 40's and 50's who started this whole movement, preaching perfect health for the believer, are dead now. None of them "received" what they preached and confessed.

So... Bill, you may not have meant it this way, and I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. I'm just saying that that terminology comes from WOF doctrine. And a lot of believers use that kind of terminology without knowing the roots of it. And so this is what I mean when I say that this shows how much the WOF movement has permeated the church.

I am not upset at you at all and your right I might have been taken in by the WOF movement for a moment when I would not accept that, but sometimes we just hear so much bad in the world I try my personal best not to let it sink in or let my mind contain it. I have never been one to just to jump on any bandwagons you know me I am sort of a rebel, so most everyone here was condemning Paula and Randy "throwing stones" I thought I would be a rebel about it. :-P

I agree. This is likely the most difficult thing one has to deal with concerning false teachers. For this reason I have a problem referring young Christians to ministries who we do not believe to be Biblical in its entirety.

At Thursday night's service, they announced plans to divorce. Both have been divorced before.

Sad to say, they don't regard the covenant of marriage as
a sacred bond!!

That is quite obvious. The precedent was set when they did not regard the seriousness of the PREVIOUS covenant they entered into (their first marriages). :-(

Hi Ginnyrose...
Yes, I am sooo very grateful that I never "recommended" that anyone who was searching for God, listen to any of the ministries listed in this thread...
but I must admit I have literally lost count to the enormous numbers of people I have given this website (SI) to...and I recommend that they listen to Ravenhill, Richard Owens Roberts, Keith Daniel, Alan Redpath, David Wilkerson, Carter Conlon and the list goes on and on and on...
It is sooooo wonderful to know that there are ministers/sermons that we can recommend, and rest assured that the Truth is being spoken.
You know what I love sooo very much from the ones who teach on this website??? It is the brokenness you can sense, in their delivery...They speak with humble hearts and Words of Directiveness and NonCompromise...
One of my Sons recently graduated from Phoenix Seminary and I recommended he listen to Paul Washer's "controversial message"...the one that caused him to not be invited back to that place again...And what my son said was so true..He said, "Mom, that is clearly the Best Sermon I have Ever heard... and every word out of his mouth is covered and spoken in LOVE."
which of course brings to mind the scripture: ...the goodness of God leads you to repentance...Romans 2:4b

Yes, indeed, that is a burning statement that begs another question such as: Of those who do read their Bibles. how much or how little do they read? and here is another: I wonder how many young people today have ever held a copy of the King James Version of the Bible in their hands?

Her website says:

As Christians, we are called to follow the New Covenant of Christ -- but as Christ himself honored the laws and covenants of his forefathers, as modern-day children of God we should also remember and honor God’s biblically established laws, covenants, and decrees.

This is in reference to Christians observing Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement) on Sept 22nd.

Does this lady not understand even the basics of Christianity???

Of course, this is all a sham to bilk money from so-called Christians who dont know their Bibles. And guess what! For "your best atonement" offering, you will receive all these books and CD's.

What blasphemey.

I have lived in the Tampa area and I have a story about them.

I am at a movie w/ my wife and we are waiting for the theater to be cleaned and there they are "The Whites ". They cross a crowd of people like they are sooo Cooool.
Later on Its them and us waiting in the same hallway for a movie and I could not believe the foul language that came out of paula's mouth! What a money making Phoney!

The feeling you have when a wolf like that passes by you and your family is sickening. Pray that She and Her Husband Repent!Pray that without walls goes away as soon as posssible and the members find a solid Jesus Loving Bible Church.
