CANTON: From a prayer chamber, Day 03

Dear Friends and Intercessors,
As we open up our computers and the door to our prayer room for another 18-hour session for the conference, we can not but rejoice over the many things which have been brought to us through the speakers.
Pastor Conlon had us on our knees as he had most of the audience after just a short but intense sermon. A proper demonstration of things talked about.
Pray, to begin with, for sharp minds, open hearts and a willing spirit to be able to handle the day with its many opportunities for a preparing for revival.

Revival
A gathering of men, a company of committed, engaged in a priestly effort for reconciliation demonstrated.
A breaking of the isolationism, the pride, of the tendencies for self-aggrandizement for the sake of an altogether different kingdom demonstrated.
For this we pray.

S

Revival
The matter of priestliness brought forth among the people of God.
The priestly mind understands controversy and is able to handle spiritual means of conflict solving.
The priestly mind – ability to listen.
The priestly mind – ability to reconcile.
The priestly mind – ability to suffer.

S

Revival
The most valued ministry.
The most effective ministry.
Ministry supported and sustained by Heaven itself.
- The ministry of fellowshipping.

S
sermonindex

Revival begins in prayer, in a cry for the breaking of strongholds.
Revival generates prayer.
Revival gives birth to intercessors.
Revival sustains the intercessor. It feeds the prayer life. It feeds fellowship.
For this process we pray.

S
sermonindex

Revival
The impact of Christ.
A purposeful, forceful, fearless praying for the Kingdom to come, as is the rule of Heave – so on Earth.

To be able to give life, to pray life;

Revival
Do we regard the our Lord and Savour as a fixer at the end of the race,
Or is he allowed by us to be our present sanctifier.

S
sermonindex

Revival
Pray hard regarding a proper discerning of the times.
We can not go on with what we have.
Pray forth a pressing on unto perfection.
Pressing on in depressing ties brings life.

S
sermonindex

Revival
The existence, the presence of a priestly people is in itself a promise of something other, something in the mind of the Lord for the future.

S
sermonindex

Revival
A line of demarcation drawn and established between the Church and the world.

S
sermonindex

Revival
Establishes a “Thinking the Cross”.
It is a priestly thinking.
An antithetical thinking.
A dividing between the Holy and the profane.

S

Fruit-bearing or futility

S
sermonindex

God needs your agony – someone in the gap

S

We have lost our understanding of the majesty of God.
Reverence, worship in the sense of utter dependency and obedience are lost to the modern Christian.
Pray for a returning to reality.

A setting prepared for corporate maturity.

S

Desperation for reality, for the presence of God is gone. . .
Pray like noon else is praying.

The revival desperately needed is one of exchanging the prevalent addiction to mediocrity for an uncompromising stance as to seeking the Lord and a thorough vindication of His word. The revival desperately needed contains a substantial element of turning away from the common rationalisation of mediocrity. The revival so desperately needed recovers sobriety, sensibility and a serious seeking of true spirituality – 1 Pet 4:7-8. The awakened church becomes aware of the fact that the church at large has been squeezed into a mould of pretence and vanity, enticed and deceived by the world – gr. Kosmos, a diadem, a costly masterpiece, blazing and flashy in appearance but directing the mind set thereon off of the beaten path.

S

A revival brings each and every man involved back to the cross, to see and apprehend the comprehensiveness and sufficiency of the meaning of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. A reviving of the inner man brings insight and revelation into the mystery of the centrality of the cross even in the resurrection aspect of the Christian life. Life, heavenly life, heavenly quality will flow from a broken vessel and from such a vessel only.

God’s testimony is hurting.
Do get jealous for His testimony.

S

Willingness creates a day of power. Waiting on God formulates the format of the day of power. Willingness and waiting, perseverance and prayer assist God in His day of power. Revivals begin as men bend the knee in persistent prayer, revivals consist of prayer and intercession, revivals are generated in the prayer chamber, revivals are sustained in righteous prayer, revivals revive and reinstate praying, revivals will never last without much prayer, a revival co-insides with the willingness of man to give himself to prayer.

S

A revival needs a man in the gap. A revival will take a man in the gap to begin. Revivals are marked and remembered by its men, by those who dare to stand in the gap. Revivals come God’s way, according to God’s perspective and intentions but they begin in a man’s heart. “I will raise me up a faithful

S

A revival will become a reality wherever a company of committed decides to recover the art of crying out to the Lord, wherever the fellowship of the burning heart gathers to partake in carrying of the perennial burden of the Lord. His cry is an “Oh, that my people would. . .”

S

Revivals require commitment. Revivals are kindled and kept alive on covenant ground. Priestly ministry, a function at the core of every revival, stands firmly on the covenants of the Lord. “My covenant with Levi, the priestly ministry, was one of life and peace, and I gave these to him; it called for reverence, and he revered Me and stood in awe of My name.” Mal 2:5. Revivals are secured by men who formulate a covenant and enter into a covenant relation with the Lord to stand firm in reverently seeking the face of God. Succeeding in bringing life and peace to the people comes solely on covenant ground.

S

A revival, a day of power will find a point of beginning in the willingness of the people of God – Ps 110:3. Revivals are commonly to be experienced among those who wait for the Lord to come as redeemer, as life-giver and as sanctifier. Revivals are to be found to appear as a response to the availability of the people of God. The very waiting on God is the mystery and the main trait of a revival at hand and of a revival at work. Willingness creates a day of power. Waiting on God formulates the format of the day of power.

Hosea10:12

Sow for yourselves righteousness;

Reap in mercy;

Break up your fallow ground,

For it is time to seek the LORD,

Till He comes and rains righteousness on you.

I think that these statements regarding prayer and revival are worth looking and praying through over and over again.
I dare to add a quote from Ravenhill’s “Sodom had no Bible”:

“I am convinced that in the current welter of confusion, theological as well as moral, there are still many asking, ‘Is there any word from the Lord?’ They are not interested, preacher-friend, in your theological juggling act, your elastic vocabulary, your re-hashing of some recent political event or the near doom of the stock-market. They want the word of Redemption.”
