[b]A Babe is Born
A babe was born to pay the price
The awful debt of sin
The Holy, sinless Son of God
Who died, thy soul to win
He came–to live a blameless life
An offering pure and whole
For only then could God accept
The payment for thy soul
To think–He made this wondrous world
Creator–God–Supreme
And yet, the only place for Him
A stable, crude and mean
There was no room in Bethlehem
To house poor ‘Mary’s Son’
How sad they did not recognize
In Him the Promised One
The Babe was born–to die, a man
And rise–A Conquering King
To rule o’er each repentant heart
Who place their trust in Him.
