Revival Conference 2008?

Saints,

After much prayer and time with God there is a renewed desire in my heart and other brethren's hearts to see another revival conference this year. I have received much feedback and praise reports from the conference last year. changed lives, revived lives, churches in the canton area that have increased membership. But I believe God focused primarily on personal revival this last year.

I do have in my heart to see a genuine plea for revival and a great awakening in North America and the world. There was a lack of prayer and "crying out" last event but I believe God was preparing hearts.

So once again I am praying towards a event this next October. I am praying for free use of a facility for this event and praying about the speakers that God would have come. Please do pray for the Lord to prepare the way for this event again, I believe it has to be EVEN MORE of God this year for it to happen!

any feedback and comments are appreciated.

Amen, Brother! The Lord is preparing hearts. Let us prepare a way for the Lord. "Hark, I hear a noise! Behold a shaking! I can almost feel the breeze upon my cheek. I can almost see the great living army rising to their feet. Shall we not pray and pray and pray, till the Spirit comes, and God revives His people?" R. A. Torrey

Let us pray.

I am not sure if it would be in canton again. I am praying about this and for the Lord to open doors with any sympathetic pastors who feel that God would have them host the event and pray for revival.

Hi Greg...

This is wonderful news, as my wife and I were unable to attend the conference in the fall. However, does the conference necessarily have to be located in a Church building? There might be some venues available that are not part of a Church sanctuary. Is it possible that there are some wonderful camps, college meeting halls, mere meeting places, etc... that could suffice in this?

Thanks for any information! We are already praying!

:-)

It may be some nostalgic or sentimental thread in me, but there was something very special about Canton. Trinity Gospel Temple had a very peaceful atmosphere in the sanctuary that I will not soon forget. There were many other things that were conducive to this without a doubt.

But my prayers might be a bit biased. ;-)

I agree. There is a lot of revival history also in that part of the country. I visited Finney's grave in Oberlin and did not realize that Tozer is buried in Akron not far from where I was staying. But, I just had a sense that God was at work there and had been for a very long time.

Yes brother, that is true, I would love to hear further ideas and feasibility on this. I definitely agree it does not have to be in a church building.

Well perhaps there is a small chance of the event being held in england? I would definitely need to see enough local support there for a event like this to be there. I had 2-3 pastors from england approach me on the idea during last conference.

I have been discussing this conference with some brothers and organizations. Personally I only want what God wants with this event. Please continue to pray and seek God for this event.

If any pastor of a church would feel God is wanting you to open the doors of your church for this event please contact me at: sermonindex@gmail.com

I will keep everyone posted on any new things God is putting on my heart. Do feel free to share what you would like to see or any other input as we progress towards a possible conference.

Oh, to God that we would have such a conference in England. It would be so needed and timely. The church here is largely sleeping, we need reviving, we need stirring, we desperately do.

I would be happy to do anything at this end to help make it happen.

Once the Pilgrim Fathers left our shores for your own, godly men and women from England, a land so peculiarly blessed by God. From these dear and holy saints God raised up the largest Christian country the world has ever seen. I know things have declined in the US of late but i doubt they have to the same proportions as they have here in England.

Brethren if it seems good to you and the Holy Spirit, will you please return the favour and come and be a blessing unto our land by holding the conference here?

To have the conference in England I would need the interest of many pastors in england and also free use of a church there.

I understand. I know it may be a long shot. You said there are 3 pastors who have expressed an interest, do you know which part of England they live in?

Brother,

This could definitely be a possibility, please do pray about this and approach your head pastor if you felt led to see if the building could be used for the event. We would need full use of the facility for 3 days in October God willing. I will look into the other pastors that I mentioned about and see if I can contact them. It would definitely be "God" if he worked in the hearts of many pastors in England to get together to hold this event.

Reading of the possibility of a Revival Conference in England has thrilled my soul. How Great Britian and Europe needs a mighty outpouring of God. I gave serious consideration to travelling to Canton last year. Coming from Northern Ireland I would love to do what I could with God's help to promote a UK revival conference. Just a thought, what time of year does Bro. Keith Daniels pass through the UK on his way to North America. We need men of God of this calibre to Minister in the UK. We need men who have experienced revival, not just revival experts, to give us the thirst to seek God until we find Him in all of His fulness.
Bro. Greg may you know the mind of God on this matter. If I can be of any help please contact me.
Oh for a might outpouring of God for His glory.

Here's another advocate of hosting the conference in England. If it were to be there then I probably would not make it but it is in my heart to see God do something powerful in Europe. It kind of stands out in my mind as the forgotten and neglected mission field. I'll cerainly be praying that way!

Amen. Yes I do feel that there is more a desperate need for God's people to be stirred for revival in england and "europe"! May God continue to open doors and see some churches and pastors come together on this. I definitely need to start with to have a larger old church perhaps in england somewhere. 1. I would say it would be good to have it seat at least 500 people? It would be neat to have one of those older stone churches.

2. No, it would not need to be in london but for traveling purposes it would be nice to be in or very near london.

I know nothing has been decided yet, and it is early days, but if the conference has to be held in England, then maybe London is not a good choice.

It is the most expensive city in England.

It is the nation's capital, and that is reflected in the cost of things you buy over there.

However, if God so wants it there, then so be it.

Still, as I said, it is early days, anything can happen.

Let's pray.

God bless.

S

enid said

It is the most expensive city in England.
There is also the congestion charge to consider, on top of cafe and restaurant food being twice as expensive as many other places.

Britain is renowned in Europe (at least) as being the most expensive place to eat out. However, facilities which include meals are also expensive.

The other difficulty of choosing a huge place, is the amount of time required to travel, and that additional cost.

It would, perhaps, be better to find a smaller city with good networking between the local churches, already in operation, and good links to Heathrow, from where coaches go directly to many places. There is a train from Heathrow also, which goes to Paddington main station.

London has five main stations serving the main points on the compass - two for northerly connections - all linked by underground\\overground local connections - like many major cities.

Our gas prices have now reached over $9 per gallon, and internal travel has not been inexpensive for a very long time.

Before choosing England, Greg, are you investigating European mainland options also, as they might be disproportionately easier for the British, and more favourable to the Europeans who would attend than bringing them all the way to the UK?

Thank you for your suggestions. I am still definitely open to have it in North America. The reason why I have been asking about england is it has come up quite a few times in the last while and I do not believe in chance.

I have just come back from a Youth Minsters conference in England. It was such an excellent and encouraging time. The Word was preached to us faithfully and i was so encouraged with how much the people there loved the Bible and the gospel and how they desire to teach it faithfully and withholding nothing from the hearers. However i sense that we really need an outpouring of the Spirit of God to set all that good theology on fire. This is one reason why i think of Revival conference in England is so needed and i know im biased but i would so love to see it happen if the Lord wills it.

I am praying about sending an email around all those youth ministers to seee if any of them could get behind a Revival conference in England and whether they could speak to their Pastors about making facilities available. I met some great guys from London, and some from the Midlands so you dont know what God might do.

Thinking again about the use of my church, it is one of those old Anglican 'Stone churches' Greg, but im just not sure if it would be quite big enough for the need. I dont know, may the Lord continue to guide us in His will

I normally go to a church in London called Bridge lane but it is finding a church big enough to hold everyone.

I think David Wilkerson when he came here used quite a big old church, I think it was used for Dr Martin Lolyd Jones.
If I could remember the church name they might welcome a revivial meeting or we could have it in the english fields like John Wesley and George Whitfield.

Hi Greg,

I don't know how possible this might be but this is a famous church which if it wasn't on your original list - John Stott's old church - should be ;-) and would be likely if they accepted to help, to have sufficient resources within their own organisation to support the conference. It is extremely central which is either helpful, or the total opposite of a practical solution.

Brothers and Sisters,

please keep praying for the possibility of having 2 revival conference events.

this video I just ran across today: http://www.newwordalive.org/2008-event/promotional-video.htm

this is one of the major reasons why we need a revival conference in the United Kingdom! people are ignorant of true biblical preaching, praying and travailing. It is all about entertainment and fun. God help us.

If you are a pastor from the UK please email me with your interest to be involved with this event and help make it happen.

U

people are ignorant of true biblical preaching, praying and travailing. It is all about entertainment and fun. God help us.

How my heart bleeds for such strong delusion. I agree with you brother. Where is the travail and tears night and day??? May God have HIS way. May God bring us to Himself in these LAST hours of time and opportunity. "Great is our God" was sung throughout the video mentioned above...all the while immodesty, entertainment, recreation, and other carnal desires were being flashed in front of our eyes. All in the name of Jesus.
My burden, dear brother, is that we have enough "events" ... what is needed is a true outpouring of God's Holy Ghost. I know that is your heart too. But the question is, how do we get from "event" to "out pouring"? May God truly help us!

I also would be in favor of two dates. One in EU, and one in North America.

Also, is 3 days long enough???

Thanks for listening,
I too am praying about our great need.

When I read down page 5 and read Frank's post, my heart started to flutter.

I need to explain, though I truly do hesitate to do so and go this far out on a limb, but I've never been one to want to "travel".

Well - here it goes. I'm not one for dreams and visions. I've asked the LORD to not go that route with me, because I like more concrete from His Word Words.
But last year, for months - I kept seeing Scotland in my minds eye. I had no idea where on earth 'that' came from, but I kept seeing this same view. It was from on top a Green small mountain that was totally covered with grass and looked at the ocean.

I couldn't shake that and told two sisters and my daughter about it. I started immediately to deeply - very deeply desire to go there and couldn't figure out why this lasted so long - most of last year.
I asked the Lord to take that from me and He eventually did.
But then it started up again LAST WEEK.
I'm not saying this is prophetic, but I'm just finding all of it very strange to someone who's content to stay in my own little town till eternity comes.

Why and where all of this came from - I don't know - but IF it is from GOD - all I can do is ask others to pray like crazy - because the more a move is from GOD, the enemy will want to thwart it.

Pray Saints is right.

Alistair is from Scotland and I wonder if he could recommend anyone from there that he visits.
He knew Martin Lloyd-Jones and others - but I don't know who would be best to contact him or how affective his email replies are.

Anyhow - all of what I've just now posted maybe gibberish - but Prayer is still a Great idea for all of us on this one. It's a big venture to go that far.

Besides, I'm praying to get a refund check to get there. :-D Wow! Now that 'would' be a miracle if it may come at the right time. Alleluia.

Frank, I love you for all that you've done and I love SI.

Refund check was just my excitement (health issues weren't remembered in that excitement) b/o those "mind's eyes visions" that I think pertained more to something - that as you also feel that - "God is going to do" - and not for me here.

Thank you all for your kindnesses to me and over-looking my emotional outbursts - but His Glory coming down blows me over the control zone.

To GOD be The GLORY and may we see it - even in the privacy of our own homes - to strengthen our spirits to withstand Anything, even His Coming.

I've been thinking about the location for the Conference in North America. What about a huge tent?
I've been to revival meetings in big tents, and I like it. It kinda has that "out of the box" feeling that helps break down the walls around our hearts. "Open air" is really out of the box, and I would see a tent somewhere in between, open air and a plush chapel).

If it was held in a tent, Autumn would be a good time of year.

These are just some of my thoughts. You are probably wondering if I have a tent to offer, and I don't. I am just thinking of other avenues one could pursue to facilitate this Meeting with God.

I am trying to get a very well located facility. I am simply waiting on God in prayer right now for the supply.

As for the speaker I will keep her in prayer towards having her at the event.

Sorry greg-- after reading my post I sounded very pretentious-- it was late when I posted-- once again my apologies....scott

Brothers and Sisters,

We are still praying about having a "good" location in the USA for the conference this year. And the dates will be in late October God willing as last year.

On the other hand the 2nd conference has been confirmed in Scotland with the dates: November 25th-27th, more information is here:

Revival Conference 2008: Greenock, Scotland

Keep praying the Lord opens the doors for the USA conference.

Brethren,

We are still "waiting" on God for a larger venue near a major USA city. If you know anyone that would be willing to the host the event please let me know.

Praying Brother.

Two questions. How many people would you expect ?

2nd - which link from last year's conference would best show what the Revival conference is about?

Thank you!

Last year there were over 1000 attendees but I would say 300-500 at any time in the facility for a session. So seating of 500-800 would be best.

Here is a link giving the "simple" vision of what the conference is to be about: https://www.sermonindex.net/revivalconference.php
