The Blessed Saviour Waits

Amidst the clamour and the noise,
The blessed Saviour waits,
For those of contrite heart and soul,
To enter through the gates.

His bleeding stripes behold the tale,
The course by which He trod,
So silently He bids thee come,
To shed His love abroad.

We often fail to see the truth,
Because we look away,
Engrossed in earthly treasures,
Our hearts begin to stray.

So silently He bids thee come,
Back unto the path,
Of life and light and righteousness,
Away from death and wrath.

The awesome beauty of His love,
Within the hearts of man,
Is truly joy unspeakable,
With all at His command.

The sorrow of a searching soul,
Is misery untold,
The only way is Jesus,
His vict’ry to uphold.
