How to get free of pastors grip

O
Ole

I have been mentally ill for 7 years now, after rebuking, kindly though the pastor, saying that they did something that might destroy people,he started taking a hard grip on me, so I had to leave.

since then they prayed against me, they believe they are in their right to do it, that is scarry, they are not servants at all.

I experiecned one night that all hell broke loose, God told me who and why, I cried out to God for an hour, but was destroyed in prayerlife for 2 days, it has gone down down ever since mentally.

I still believe he prayes against me, it is like being in prison, can some one please help me, tell me how I can get out, I want to live in what God has to me, did it before, had a mantel of many colors (joseph), I also believe that was the reason they wanted me out.

Philippians 2

Be Like Christ

1Therefore if there is any encouragement in Christ, if there is any consolation of love, if there is any (A)fellowship of the Spirit, if any (B)affection and compassion,

2(C)make my joy complete by (D)being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose.

3Do nothing from (E)selfishness or (F)empty conceit, but with humility of mind (G)regard one another as more important than yourselves;

4(H)do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others.

5(I)Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in (J)Christ Jesus,

6who, although He (K)existed in the (L)form of God, (M)did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped,

7but [a](N)emptied Himself, taking the form of a (O)bond-servant, and (P)being made in the likeness of men.

8Being found in appearance as a man, (Q)He humbled Himself by becoming (R)obedient to the point of death, even (S)death on a cross.

9(T)For this reason also, God (U)highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him (V)the name which is above every name,

10so that at the name of Jesus (W)EVERY KNEE WILL BOW, of (X)those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth,

11and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is (Y)Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

12So then, my beloved, (Z)just as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your (AA)salvation with (AB)fear and trembling;

13for it is (AC)God who is at work in you, both to will and to work (AD)for His good pleasure.

14Do all things without (AE)grumbling or disputing;

15so that you will prove yourselves to be (AF)blameless and innocent, (AG)children of God above reproach in the midst of a (AH)crooked and perverse generation, among whom you (AI)appear as lights in the world,

16holding fast the word of life, so that in (AJ)the day of Christ I will have reason to glory because I did not (AK)run in vain nor (AL)toil in vain.

17But even if I am being (AM)poured out as a drink offering upon (AN)the sacrifice and service of your faith, I rejoice and share my joy with you all.

18You too, I urge you, rejoice in the same way and share your joy with me.

submission, love, humility are things God honors. Have a clear conscience to love and forgive everyone including a pastor.

Lowly

Dear Ole,
The truth will set you free.

This is about what you believe. The Lord is your defense, He is your shield, He is your fortress.

Nothing can separate you from the love of God. Nothing can snatch you out of His hand.

Condemnation, accusations, charges against you, unforgiveness, a hearts plea for justice or vindication, all these things can make you feel as if you are in prison and being oppressed. It is as if someone has pronounced sentence upon you and you are waiting for a trial. You are looking for God to make this right, to defend you, to release you by making them see the truth. Or if He would deal with them and stop them, you are crying out for justice.

The door to this prison is already opened, the enemy stands outside oppressing you with condemnation and thoughts that will keep you there. Lies about the pastor, a need to be publicly declared not guilty. You don't believe God is hearing your prayers because He has not come to your defense in this, the way you are needing Him to. Why hasn't He saved you?

Don't drink of the gall of bitterness any longer, the door is open.........Jesus is asking you do you want to be well? Let go of this, and forgive.................drink of the living water........let my grace wash over you.............I have declared you not guilty.....the trial was over at the cross...............

Let Him look upon your wounds with loving compassion.........He know what you have been through...............Look at Him , Keep your eyes on Him, and abide under His wing for their is healing in His wings.................He will speak life to you..........but you will have to let this go...............no vindication.............Just forgiveness...............He will minister to your brokenness......He will bind up your wounds until they are whole..........He is saying Come.......follow me out............I am the Good Shepherd.........I will lead to still waters, I will cause you to rest in green pastures...........I will restore your soul..............

In His Amazing Love,

Is this connected to alzhiemers?

The reason I ask is because aa lot of mental illness is vitamin deficiency.

Hello, Ole,

You have had good counsel and for sure if you feel you have been ill for 7 years, you do need to receive healing from the Lord. I would like to suggest that while He can heal you all at once, there may be a process which is more stage-by-stage, so that your understanding can keep up with it, and you can establish in your own mind, the terms of reference of each kind of healing you receive.

It is very traumatic to be told by someone you trusted (your pastor), that he wants you destroyed.

If I may state the obvious, such an intention is very far from God's heart for anyone. In fact, it sounds either Pharisaical or occult.

Another obvious deduction would be to surmise that this pastor is not a Christian, if he and others are praying against you (if they are or did).

But, because of his title (and perhaps his age and knowledge of scripture), you have been inwardly submitted to him - which is one reason this situation has had power over you - although it need not.

Another thought\\possibility, is that something in your own life\\past, has made you vulnerable to his threats. I don't mean you are (necessarily) responsible for the existence of vulnerability within yourself (Who isn't vulnerable, when someone strikes below the belt?), but you are certainly now responsible to go to the Lord and let Him deal with it, because you are a Christian. You have to lay hold of the answer you need, directly from Him. He wants to help in whatever way you need, but, this doesn't mean you tell Him what the answer is... You tell Him the problem and He give you His answer.. These suggestions are not necessarily a linear progression (although they may be).

A sister here made a comment which you may find helpful to consider. She and several other saints were together facing challenging circumstances. They knew they had to pray and obey; they had to start somewhere. She felt they should just start with the biggest most obvious problem, and get on with bringing it to the Lord.... like, when there is a seal which says 'peel here'. She said it would be crazy to try to 'open' the container - to get into God's riches - by any other way, as it set themselves up for much frustration, wasted time and scuffed fingernails. ;-)

In every religious system, there are sacrifices. In worldly (or occult) systems, the sacrifice can be a person, or money, or something else which is valued by society (and therefore, they think, will please that god). For our God though, the only sacrifice with any power to change His mind, is the blood of Christ, the Lamb of God which takes away the sin of the world. His blood is more powerful than any other bloods or sacrifices, mustered up by the imaginations of unsaved men. By this blood, you are released from all sin, all guilt, all confusion, all evil, and any other power - no matter how powerful - which seeks to control you. Only as you walk in Him, can you experience it.

You might enjoy reading this encouraging description of 'the life', (I hope you do), from the thread currently running on Wigglesworth in General Topics, Was Wigglesworth serious? Hello again, Ole. Thank you for the feedback. I know it made a big difference when I began to trust these truths.

Here is the hymn. Try it with the first tune link (below) before listening to the singers in the second link, as they're a bit fuzzy in places.

And can it be that I should gain
An interest in the Savior’s blood?
Died He for me, who caused His pain—
For me, who Him to death pursued?
Amazing love! How can it be,
That Thou, my God, shouldst die for me?
Amazing love! How can it be,
That Thou, my God, shouldst die for me?

’Tis mystery all: th’Immortal dies:
Who can explore His strange design?
In vain the firstborn seraph tries
To sound the depths of love divine.
’Tis mercy all! Let earth adore,
Let angel minds inquire no more.
’Tis mercy all! Let earth adore;
Let angel minds inquire no more.

He left His Father’s throne above
So free, so infinite His grace—
Emptied Himself of all but love,
And bled for Adam’s helpless race:
’Tis mercy all, immense and free,
For O my God, it found out me!
’Tis mercy all, immense and free,
For O my God, it found out me!

Long my imprisoned spirit lay,
Fast bound in sin and nature’s night;
Thine eye diffused a quickening ray—
I woke, the dungeon flamed with light;
My chains fell off, my heart was free,
I rose, went forth, and followed Thee.
My chains fell off, my heart was free,
I rose, went forth, and followed Thee.

Still the small inward voice I hear,
That whispers all my sins forgiven;
Still the atoning blood is near,
That keeps me clean and fit for Heaven.
I feel the life His wounds impart;
I feel the Savior in my heart.
I feel the life His wounds impart;
I feel the Savior in my heart.

No condemnation now I dread;
Jesus, and all in Him, is mine;
Alive in Him, my living Head,
And clothed in righteousness divine,
Bold I approach th’eternal throne,
And claim the crown, through Christ my own.
Bold I approach th’eternal throne,
And claim the crown, through Christ my own.

And be very blessed while you sing these great spiritual truths. A good rule is to sing the lines you know you understand and mean, and pray through the other lines, thinking about them, until by faith you can sing the whole song.

I do know we don't always feel all of the sentiments expressed, all of the time. But, they are all always true in God.

psalm1

Ole,

I believe a sound mind is a benefit from heaven for every born again saint.

It could be that the enemy is sending tormentors to harass you.
This happens to every believer and I know if I think certain thoughts I also can get on the tormentor "merry go round"
Paul said "whatever is good,lovely and a good report,think on these things."

A lot of what we think is lies,and the enemy brings more lies and soon if we dont spend time in the word, its like the lies become reality because the natural mind is susceptible to false "truths"

See yourself as receiving what God promises you,a sound mind. Memorise scripture and sing to the Lord.

Remember the 23rd psalm "he restoreth my soul"

God bless you!!!

Hello Ole, God Bless man.

We are in one hellish battle for our souls.

When I read your post I completely understood your situation because I was in that situation. And the good news that I read in your post is that you left, YIPEEE! That was a great move. I remember watching a program about Abortion. They were testing to see if the child had intelligence and not just a fetus. When they put an object in the womb, the child moved away from the object. They tried again and again the same thing.

When we know that we are in danger the best thing that we can do is to leave and run. The scriptures tells us 1 Thessalonians 5:22 Abstain from all appearance of evil. And for you to run away from that was certainly an evil presense that was not from the LORD.

Ok, now that your away from that. Your alone and licking your wounds like you have just been in a warfare. Like Dorcas said, these things are going to take time to heal, and it will get better I can assure you.

The best thing for you to do is to request prayer from this site and allow the holy Spirit to work in you through our praying. Romans 15:1 We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves.

These people at this church you were attending may have prayed against you, but we here can stand against thier prayers and put an end to it once and for all. Be enouraged that you are among brothers and sisters that know the LORD.

Leviticus 26:8 And five of you shall chase an hundred, and an hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight: and your enemies shall fall before you by the sword.

Of course we should recognize that Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

This is a spiritual battle and it's only done in the Spirit, in the name of our LORD Jesus Christ.

God Bless

P
psalm1

This quote from pilgrims progress has stuck with me over the years and is such a blessing;

" Neither could they, with all the skill they had, get again to the stile that night. Wherefore at last, lighting under a little shelter, they sat down there till the day brake; but being weary, they fell asleep. Now there was, not far from the place where they lay, a castle, called Doubting Castle, the owner whereof was Giant Despair, and it was in his grounds they now were sleeping: wherefore he, getting up in the morning early, and walking up and down in his fields, caught Christian and Hopeful asleep in his grounds. Then with a grim and surly voice, he bid them awake, and asked them whence they were, and what they did in his grounds. They told him they were pilgrims, and that they had lost their way. Then said the giant, You have this night trespassed on me by trampling in and lying on my grounds, and therefore you must go along with me. So they were forced to go, because he was stronger than they. They also had but little to say, for they knew themselves in a fault. The giant, therefore, drove them before him, and put them into his castle, into a very dark dungeon, nasty and stinking to the spirits of these two men. Here, then, they lay from Wednesday morning till Saturday night, without one bit of bread, or drop of drink, or light, or any to ask how they did; they were, therefore, here in evil case, and were far from friends and acquaintance. Psa. 88:18. Now in this place Christian had double sorrow, because it was through his unadvised counsel that they were brought into this distress.

Now Giant Despair had a wife, and her name was Diffidence: so when he was gone to bed he told his wife what he had done, to wit, that he had taken a couple of prisoners, and cast them into his dungeon for trespassing on his grounds. Then he asked her also what he had best do further to them. So she asked him what they were, whence they came, and whither they were bound, and he told her. Then she counseled him, that when he arose in the morning he should beat them without mercy. So when he arose, he getteth him a grievous crab-tree cudgel, and goes down into the dungeon to them, and there first falls to rating of them as if they were dogs, although they gave him never a word of distaste. Then he falls upon them, and beats them fearfully, in such sort that they were not able to help themselves, or to turn them upon the floor. This done, he withdraws and leaves them there to condole their misery, and to mourn under their distress: so all that day they spent the time in nothing but sighs and bitter lamentations. The next night, she, talking with her husband further about them, and understanding that they were yet alive, did advise him to counsel them to make away with themselves. So when morning was come, he goes to them in a surly manner, as before, and perceiving them to be very sore with the stripes that he had given them the day before, he told them, that since they were never like to come out of that place, their only way would be forthwith to make an end of themselves, either with knife, halter, or poison; for why, said he, should you choose to live, seeing it is attended with so much bitterness? But they desired him to let them go. With that he looked ugly upon them, and rushing to them, had doubtless made an end of them himself, but that he fell into one of his fits, (for he sometimes in sunshiny weather fell into fits,) and lost for a time the use of his hands; wherefore he withdrew, and left them as before to consider what to do. Then did the prisoners consult between themselves whether it was best to take his counsel or no; and thus they began to discourse:

CHR. Brother, said Christian, what shall we do? The life that we now live is miserable. For my part, I know not whether it is best to live thus, or to die out of hand. My soul chooseth strangling rather than life, and the grave is more easy for me than this dungeon. Job. 7:15. Shall we be ruled by the giant?

HOPE. Indeed our present condition is dreadful, and death would be far more welcome to me than thus for ever to abide; but yet, let us consider, the Lord of the country to which we are going hath said, "Thou shalt do no murder," no, not to another man's person; much more, then, are we forbidden to take his counsel to kill ourselves. Besides, he that kills another, can but commit murder upon his body; but for one to kill himself, is to kill body and soul at once. And moreover, my brother, thou talkest of ease in the grave; but hast thou forgotten the hell whither for certain the murderers go? for "no murderer hath eternal life," &c. And let us consider again, that all the law is not in the hand of Giant Despair: others, so far as I can understand, have been taken by him as well as we, and yet have escaped out of his hands. Who knows but that God, who made the world, may cause that Giant Despair may die; or that, at some time or other, he may forget to lock us in; or that he may, in a short time, have another of his fits before us, and may lose the use of his limbs? And if ever that should come to pass again, for my part, I am resolved to pluck up the heart of a man, and to try my utmost to get from under his hand. I was a fool that I did not try to do it before. But, however, my brother, let us be patient, and endure a while: the time may come that may give us a happy release; but let us not be our own murderers. With these words Hopeful at present did moderate the mind of his brother; so they continued together in the dark that day, in their sad and doleful condition.

Well, towards evening the giant goes down into the dungeon again, to see if his prisoners had taken his counsel. But when he came there he found them alive; and truly, alive was all; for now, what for want of bread and water, and by reason of the wounds they received when he beat them, they could do little but breathe. But I say, he found them alive; at which he fell into a grievous rage, and told them, that seeing they had disobeyed his counsel, it should be worse with them than if they had never been born.

At this they trembled greatly, and I think that Christian fell into a swoon; but coming a little to himself again, they renewed their discourse about the giant's counsel, and whether yet they had best take it or no. Now Christian again seemed for doing it; but Hopeful made his second reply as followeth:

HOPE. My brother, said he, rememberest thou not how valiant thou hast been heretofore? Apollyon could not crush thee, nor could all that thou didst hear, or see, or feel, in the Valley of the Shadow of Death. What hardship, terror, and amazement hast thou already gone through; and art thou now nothing but fears! Thou seest that I am in the dungeon with thee, a far weaker man by nature than thou art. Also this giant hath wounded me as well as thee, and hath also cut off the bread and water from my mouth, and with thee I mourn without the light. But let us exercise a little more patience. Remember how thou playedst the man at Vanity Fair, and wast neither afraid of the chain nor cage, nor yet of bloody death: wherefore let us (at least to avoid the shame that it becomes not a Christian to be found in) bear up with patience as well as we can.

Now night being come again, and the giant and his wife being in bed, she asked him concerning the prisoners, and if they had taken his counsel: to which he replied, They are sturdy rogues; they choose rather to bear all hardships than to make away with themselves. Then said she, Take them into the castle-yard to-morrow, and show them the bones and skulls of those that thou hast already dispatched, and make them believe, ere a week comes to an end, thou wilt tear them in pieces, as thou hast done their fellows before them.

So when the morning was come, the giant goes to them again, and takes them into the castle-yard, and shows them as his wife had bidden him. These, said he, were pilgrims, as you are, once, and they trespassed on my grounds, as you have done; and when I thought fit I tore them in pieces; and so within ten days I will do you: get you down to your den again. And with that he beat them all the way thither. They lay, therefore, all day on Saturday in a lamentable case, as before. Now, when night was come, and when Mrs. Diffidence and her husband the giant was got to bed, they began to renew their discourse of their prisoners; and withal, the old giant wondered that he could neither by his blows nor counsel bring them to an end. And with that his wife replied, I fear, said she, that they live in hopes that some will come to relieve them; or that they have picklocks about them, by the means of which they hope to escape. And sayest thou so, my dear? said the giant; I will therefore search them in the morning.

Well, on Saturday, about midnight they began to pray, and continued in prayer till almost break of day.

Now, a little before it was day, good Christian, as one half amazed, brake out into this passionate speech: What a fool, quoth he, am I, thus to lie in a stinking dungeon, when I may as well walk at liberty! I have a key in my bosom, called Promise, that will, I am persuaded, open any lock in Doubting Castle. Then said Hopeful, That is good news; good brother, pluck it out of thy bosom, and try.

Then Christian pulled it out of his bosom, and began to try at the dungeon-door, whose bolt, as he turned the key, gave back, and the door flew open with ease, and Christian and Hopeful both came out. Then he went to the outward door that leads into the castle-yard, and with his key opened that door also. After he went to the iron gate, for that must be opened too; but that lock went desperately hard, yet the key did open it. They then thrust open the gate to make their escape with speed; but that gate, as it opened, made such a creaking, that it waked Giant Despair, who hastily rising to pursue his prisoners, felt his limbs to fail, for his fits took him again, so that he could by no means go after them. Then they went on, and came to the King's highway, and so were safe, because they were out of his jurisdiction.

Now, when they were gone over the stile, they began to contrive with themselves what they should do at that stile, to prevent those that shall come after from falling into the hands of Giant Despair. So they consented to erect there a pillar, and to engrave upon the side thereof this sentence: "Over this stile is the way to Doubting Castle, which is kept by Giant Despair, who despiseth the King of the Celestial country, and seeks to destroy his holy pilgrims." Many, therefore, that followed after, read what was written, and escaped the danger. This done, they sang as follows:

"Out of the way we went, and then we found
What 'twas to tread upon forbidden ground:
And let them that come after have a care,
Lest heedlessness makes them as we to fare;
Lest they, for trespassing, his prisoners are,
Whose castle's Doubting, and whose name's Despair."

Ole, My heart goes out to you, and I will pray for you.

I don't know if this will help, but I would like to say it anyway.

Many times, when we keep things inside, it becomes bigger and bigger. So to talk about it and get it out is good.

Here is some things I would like you to consider.

1. Lay face down on the floor ( not that there is any magic in this), but lay yourself at the foot of the Cross....and REST.

2. We're to thank God ***in*** all of our Cirumstances. Now I didn't say **for* them...but *IN ** them. Put your mind on Christ, thanking HIM for all the wonderful things He has done. I honestly believe when we do worship and Praise God, those chains just fall off.

3. Paul said in Philippains...forget those things behind you, and press on...look forward...look up! ( when Joshua took teh children of Israel into the Promise Land...he said, don't look to the right or the left...but straight ahead...and most of all...don't look back. (( When Jesus had Peter to walk on water...he had his eyes on Jesus...but once he looked down...he fell in)). So...keep your mind and heart on Jesus Christ.

4. Some of the greatest prayers are those of David's in the Psalms. One that was so outstanding while David was going through a terrible time wanting God's revenge...God rebuked him, and said....maybe they do prosper, but look at their end...and look at yours. Anchor your heart there.

5. Remember God will try our hearts so we can prove HIS faithfulness.

6. Find someone you can minister to. Maybe an older couple in your neighborhood, or a friendless person. I believe many times the Lord allows these things to bring out a compassion towards others we may never have had before. Now you know what it feels like to be on the end of judgementalim, graceless mercyless expression.

7. Remember that He who is in you is stronger then he who is in the world. May your journey throught the valley of the shadow of death bring you victorious to that amazing Mountain called Mt SION.....Mt. GRACE. Only the Lord can bring you there. Read Psalms 23, but more then that know that this is where He leads...and this is who we follow, and this is what HE PROMISED.

Ole,
I pray you are seeing the love of God being poured out to you from your brothers and sisters in Christ. They see your affliction, and they are full of the compassion of our Savior reaching out to you with a hand as Peter did to the one sitting at the gate Beautiful. Seeing the man could not help himself, seeing he was laying outside the house of the Lord, Peter looked at him and said "Look on us", and the man listened, "expecting to receive something from them."....................Peter said, such as I have I give you!

In the name, the all powerful name of Jesus of Nazereth who has been given all power and authority in heaven and on earth, rise up and walk. ...................Peter knew the power of that name, because he was raised up in that very power. He was in the despair you are now in, and he knew the breath of life that loosed him from that hopelessness.

That pastor has no hold on you. His prayers do not have any power to attack you. You are the Lord's inheritance. What He says about you is true. He rules and reigns in your heart and life, and greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world. You have been ransomed and redeemed by the blood of the Lamb.

You mentioned your beautiful coat of many colors that you may feel now has been stripped from you, as the envy and hatred of Joseph's brothers stripped him of his. The favor of your Father was not attached to the coat, that was just a symbol. No one can take that away from you. Now their cruel act threw Joseph into a time of suffering and imprisonment..................but the favor and love of God was always with him.............no one can take that away from you. ...................

The Lord delivered him.

We are praying for you Ole......Everyone has blessed me here that has reached out to you......all have given you something of what they have................A testimony of Jesus.

I pray that the love of Jesus would minister to you today from the love of your brothers and sisters who desire to rescue you and see you completely healed and set free.

Ole,

remember it is a faith walk.He is and always will be the "in spite of God"
His word is true in spite of whatever comes against you,or whoever comes against you. No matter what,you ARE victorious because Jesus is victorious. He never has and never will loose a battle. So you win , no matter what ,you win.

Preach to yourself and encourage yourself.

If you have several bibles,place them on the counters and tables around your home.Leave them open and "peek" at Gods word when you pass by them.
Turn off secular tv and radio and play worship music in your home.
Get radical in your walk and study the blood of Jesus.

Your walk with Jesus moment by moment is your testimony.

Speak your testimony. Say"and he devoted himself to the reading of the word and worship"

No worries mate!

Regarding the "Pastors Grip".

When you've been under a ministry to where you've entrusted your life not only to the LORDship of Jesus Christ but also to those that appear stronger than yourself, your going to find yourself trusting the man instead of trusting the LORD.

I know this to be true because I was attending such a church whom the Pastor had such a control over the congregation. It came to the place where people were looking to him about everything. I remember one woman in that church wanted to sell her washing machine. She was so locked into this man that she called him to find out if it's ok to sell the machine. When any of them tried to leave it was like a death sentence and you were cut off immediately from fellowship with the Church.

Your mental illness may be linked with this Church. That same lady who had asked about her washing machine, also was having a nervous breakdown. After the Pastor passed away, she ended up in the psychiatric ward of the hospital.

Now, there is no formula's, no 12 steps to recovery, it's simply faith and trusting in the LORD for your recovery. Everyone of us has some sort of mental illness. We don't think of forgetting as a mental illness, but it's a problem that we all have. But healing and recovery is possible because I have been through much depressions and sat alone with my own mind wondered if I was crazy or not.

Your probably feeling condemned by the enemy, and if that is true, resist the very thought because your in Christ Jesus and your a new creation and there is no condemnation to them that are in Christ Jesus. Thats important to know because it's one of the things of our faith that we must contend, which the enemy is constantly wanting us to fall so he can do his job and condemn. But thank God for the grace of God. Amen

2 Peter 3:18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

I so love Paul's words in Ephesians 3... He prayed that WE would be strengthened by might in the inner man!

One of the Apostles taught that Shepherds were NOT to lord it over the flock...but to be examples.

We want to only think of cults as those who have a theological difference on the Trinity or such...but a cult is any group who wants to keep you in bondage to them...and cult behavior is following a man...any man....and not Our Father through Jesus Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit.

Preach to yourself and encourage yourself.
This is great advice. It is a mixture of persuading yourself what you know is true, and mixing the word (from the Bible) with faith, as you speak it out loud to yourself so your ears can hear it. It is a very profitable exercise, and you should still get a different sermon every time... ;-)

One only need look at Spurgeon's work to know it is a profitable way for a depressed man to reach out to his God, to assure us that this method works.

Ole,

Originally, you brought this forth;

And you also mentioned;

I am young

Need to ask you if you are still harboring any bitterness or resentment and just as importantly if you have considered that you may have been at fault here.

The trouble with this is that you have not given any details nor what the matter was that you were rebuking. Was it your place to do so brother? It is just as difficult and unfair that we should take your word for something and automatically run to your aid, we have no idea what the pastor was either doing or what his side of the story may be. (Note to the saints offering advice here.)

It could well mean that you go to him and ask forgiveness. What may come of it is impossible to know but it may set you free from this unwise burden you are carrying.

I want to live in what God has to me, did it before, had a mantel of many colors (joseph), I also believe that was the reason they wanted me out.

You might want to go back and read that whole account again brother. Remember how it ends.

You believe he still prays against you but do you know this for a fact? And how might you know, this far removed that he has not had a change of heart or is indeed praying for your development, your well being, to becoming more Christlike? Do you see brother? This may not always be the best way to draw advice, in a public setting. It may give you food for thought and pray that you take it as that. But without a fuller understanding of the particulars we may be offering you antidotes that are not wise nor helpful to what you might need to do to rectify this.

To be honest the internet forums is not the best place for biblical counselling, it is a good place for advice but that cannot replace this young man meeting with another pastor or spiritual elder in his area. That is the biblical route.

Ole,
bro.,why dont you you encourage someone? Sometimes in my walk I get such a rush when encouraging or ministering to someone.
There is an anointing God pours out on us as we minister. Sometimes the source of our blessing actually lies in the giving of what we have.Amen?

O

Hi crsschk

The reason why I rebuked him was I saw something that could destroy people, I told him, also admitting my own faults, not making me bigger than him, the next time I saw him, he spit me in my face with the words, "you could always rebuke me", like it was an insult I did it.

He has destroyed others too, one I know of lost his faith because of him. His father is likewise.

How do I know they have been praying against me? I overheard a conversation.

how do I know they still do? well, I believe they do, but it could just be the devil.

I dont believe they have recovered to a good church, it is a sect now, they believe they are the one realy church

Ole, Praise God! You see, He is there.

Just wondering how you are today, and if you can feel the prayers of those here in SI.

I don't know if anyone here has gone through a point in their life when it seemed as though the Lord was so silent...seemed as though he didn't hear our prayers...and yet all the while He was.

Ole, He will never leave you or forsake you no matter what the circumstances are. Even when our faith fails at times...He said He cannot deny Himself. Praise God!

Those who are His, Satan cannot snatch out of His hand. Oh he may try to bully your mind...as it seems to appear here.

Powers and Principalities and rulers in dark places are very real. But you must remember, those in Christ have been translated out of this present evil age into the Kingdom of His Dear Son Jesus Christ. That Kingdom is within you. Those who belong to the Lord are Baptized into HIS Body, and those in the Body of Christ feel your pain and hurt. When one member hurts...we all feel it...did you know that?

One day OLE, we His Church will all stand before the Judgement seat of Christ. Jesus won't be looking us over for medals...but for scars.

The fact that you are crying out, tells me you still have faith.

When Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead....He asked the **others** around to unbind him in his grave clothes. One said...Oh but he stinks! Well, ole....everybody's grave cloths stink!

Those in Christ are a NEW Creation....old things pass away, all things become brand New.

Maybe the Lord plans to plant one lonely little Petunia in an onion patch. That one lonely Petunia is all God needs to do an amazing work through you for others.

He doesn't want your money...all He wants is YOU.

The Lord chooses the most unlikely people in the most impossible circumstances to bring HIM GLORY. Just rest in His Hands, and lay still so He can do His work in you.

If you are having a hard time reading....maybe just listening to Christian Praise Music will help. Just singing along is praise and worship.

Ole...KNOW that you are LOVED. Pour your heart out to the Lord...go BOLDLY to that throne of Grace to find help and mercy EVERYTIME you are in need.

One last thing here this am.....Don't measure God's love and Grace by your FEELINGS. Our feelings come and go, but our ROCK of Ages is our firm foundation. Feelings are the most decieving thing there is...and faith has nothing to do with feelings. Faith is an act of our will regardless of what we might be feeling.

This poem was written by an unkinow, some think Rudyard Kipling. ( can't remember it all, but will find it later....here are some verses.

IF

If you can keep your head when all about you
are losing theirs and blaming it on you,

If you can keep your heart when all men doubt you,
but make allowances for their doubting too,

If you can turn an unforgiving minute into 60 seconds worth of distant run,

((The rest are my words))

You'll start to feel His very Life within you,
Bearing fruit....through death of self has won!

1. my prayer life don't work, 2. don't read my bible
I have a hard time believing this.

Ole, are you saying that you haven't just opened your mouth and said to God, "HELP"?

To say that your prayer life doesn't work is not true, it is working. This thread is working, people are praying for you. Just because you don't kneel down by your bedside or stretch yourself on the floor doesn't mean that your not praying. Your mind prays, your spirit prays. You can be praying while washing the dishes, working on the car, walking on the street. It's not location, it's not posture, it's your hearts cry to a loving caring Father. Religion has made praying to be something that is unreachable, and it's nothing to do with that. God is in us.

God may choose the location for intercessory prayer, or prayers that require deep movings in the Spirit. But just be yourself because God is just being Himself to you.

Just because your not reading your bible doesn't mean that you've lost touch with the LORD. Remember in the New Testament, all they had was the Old Testament. And they didn't even have books that they could carry around like we do, the majority of the people had to hear it via the priests. Reading a chapter a day may be good, but if you can just read a verse or two from where ever the LORD leads and have a bible in the bathroom and by your night table.

And whatever you do, don't condemn yourself because your not praying or reading your bible enough. This is such an easy thing to do because we lack so much and we are constantly looking at our shortcomings.

My prayer is always, "Father, create a desire in me to be willing to read your word with fear and adoration., And show me what real prayer is, a communion in the holy Ghost".

Now simply open your mouth and express your desires and express what you think of the LORD. If you love Him, tell Him. If you resent Him, tell Him and ask Him to help be free from it.

He is such a simple yet intelligent God and we treat Him like He is complicated. :-?

I hear ya brother, been there done that.

There are seasons that we go through, and there was a reason why you prayed for that length of time. When we pray like that the Holy Spirit is aggressively doing something in us that required us to aggressively prayed like we did.(Romans 8:13) We will pray like that again if need be.

I remember when I prayed and fasted for a good number of days, I enjoyed afflicting myself from ordinary things. I would love to do that again, but for me to try to fabricate something that was Spirit led would be fruitless, and for what purpose?

After years of condemning myself and years of fretting and being full of anxiety, I have come to the conclusion that God is not in a hurry to get things done, and why should I?

I remember when the LORD spoke to me and told me that He had removed things out of my life that I wasn't even aware of. And I got to thinking about what He said and He was right. I had stopped going to certain places that were a comfort to me (even though it was also a place to possibly sin). The things that I used to say, stopped. I just got busy in the things of the LORD and kept my eyes on Him that these things just fell away. Paul says something about that.

they prayed against me, they believe they are in their right to do it

It seems to me that whether this be real or imagined is irrelevant. Cultivate your own walk with the Lord. Work our your own salvation and trust the Him to be your defender. Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right? Pray for your enemies. If you are God's child and they are speaking/praying evil against you they are in a fearful place. Pray for God to open their eyes and ask for his mercy toward them. If you are walking in obedience their prayers against you will not be effective.

Numbers 23:23 Surely there is no enchantment against Jacob, neither is there any divination against Israel: according to this time it shall be said of Jacob and of Israel, What hath God wrought!

"There is no witchcraft which works against God's people!"

Psalm 64 note what happens in verses 7&8
1 Hear me, O God, as I voice my complaint;
protect my life from the threat of the enemy.

2 Hide me from the conspiracy of the wicked,
from that noisy crowd of evildoers.

3 They sharpen their tongues like swords
and aim their words like deadly arrows.

4 They shoot from ambush at the innocent man;
they shoot at him suddenly, without fear.

5 They encourage each other in evil plans,
they talk about hiding their snares;
they say, "Who will see them [a] ?"

6 They plot injustice and say,
"We have devised a perfect plan!"
Surely the mind and heart of man are cunning.

7 But God will shoot them with arrows;
suddenly they will be struck down.

8 He will turn their own tongues against them
and bring them to ruin;
all who see them will shake their heads in scorn.

9 All mankind will fear;
they will proclaim the works of God
and ponder what he has done.

10 Let the righteous rejoice in the LORD
and take refuge in him;
let all the upright in heart praise him!

Stop looking behind you, keep your eyes in front, on that eternal prize and reward. Leave it to God to deal with the others. If God be for you the who can be against you?

I would like to recommend Don Francisco's music to you. It's free to download and will help to lift you up to God in a non-sentimental way.

You need to keep walking away from this situation, one foot in front of the other, one step at a time, leaving it behind, focusing on God your Father through the Spirit which makes Christ alive in you. Look away from yourself.

Read the New Testament again with the idea of getting to know more about Jesus, and what the apostles had to say about Him and His teachings, and how they referred to the Old Testament all the time.

Do a study on the prophecies which foretold Him, and learn how to direct others to the word of God in a meaningful way - because by then you will know what they need to know and do.

Feast on the Bread that was broken for you, and allow Him to make you strong - to raise you up out of this situation into something completely new.

Hi Ole,

to you who have prayed, how do you discern my situation, what has God made you to pray about in what manner? has God told you anything?

Ole, What I've been praying about is this...that you would KNOW the Truth and the truth will set you free.

Regardless of your situation....one doesn't have to know the intimate details to know this truth applies no matter what the situation is.

the last two days I have been wornout, dont know if it is because there is a struggle, but that is what I have been thinking about if it could be that.

Is that because you are not RESTING in the Lord?

He said *****I****** WILL GIVE YOU REST.

We oftentimes have struggles, stating we have given them to the Lord...and then pick them back up again worrying or the such about it.

Ole, Faith is simply this, Believing what God said about Himself is TRUE. Believing what He said in His word is True. There is no higher honor or Praise then this. This is the Faith that God Honors!

If you are looking instead to see your enemies fall, I will say...as long as you are looking there it will never happen. When and if it should, it may be many many years from now...and if or when you see...you will only see it from far off. Or it may never happen in your and my lifetime. YOU need to move on with Your time here on earth. It's so very short and precious! Use it wisely.

Often times too OLE, the Lord allows us to stay in our circumstances until He has accomplished in US what He wants to accomplish.

Many believe Prayer changes things. But this is what I have learned....prayer changes ME.

I remember being so young in the Lord and praying for this or that...and no answer. You know there are only three answers...Yes, No, and WAIT.

As I began to change and grow in the Lord, some of the things I was praying for, I no longer wanted...and have thanked the Lord over and over He didn't give them to me.....Now is see how foolish and self centered they were. That is normal part of growing...and we are ALWAYS growing. No one has arrived yet...and none are perfect. We know this. God is Perfect...and His LOVE for you is a perfect Love.

Perfect LOVE cast out fear. My prayer for you is that the Lord will perfect you in HIS LOVE.

Ole, have you ever just given your whole life to the Lord.....?

Love in Christ

I am not waiting for Gods judgement on my enemies, often I have said that they are not my problem, then God says that they are, that I need to pray for them.

Ole, this is good! And yes, we do need to pray for our enemies.

Matthew 5:44
But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

I have moved on, I dont look back with comtempt on them, I try go go forward, and then I hit a wall.

Maybe you are going in the wrong direction?????

You mentioned something early on about your coat of many colors.

You know, I believe when we get saved, we do have those moments of little glimpses the Lord allows us to see. Somewhere in that verse you believe the Lord spoke something to you that you feel you lost or has been taken away.

Those things we too need to give back to the Lord, laying it at His feet. Because He is the one who will bring to pass ...not us. So those things need to be surrendered too. More then not, those things, as we grow in God's Grace are completely different then what we thought they were. I don't know where you came by this idea. Did someone pray this over you?

Interesting thing about those things too,((someone else's words over you)) not all that is to be believed either. I've seen such Words misused and cause havoc in peoples lives...focusing on the WORD of this or that, rather then on Jesus Christ.

Added: Ole, when Joseph had his dream...Joseph did not know or understand what it meant...until AFTER it came to pass. It wasn't until his family came into Egypt during the famine that when they saw and fully realized who Joseph was, that they bowed......in shame for what they had done to him.

Ole, this is also prophetic for Israel, who rejected Jesus Christ..their own, and one day, they will look upon Him who they have pierced, they will mourn and bow in shame.

((So for one to have such a prophetic dream if that is what you have had....it may only be the Lord wants to say through that, that there may be many things you will have to suffer for Him.))

Just an Idea....to show something deeper here.

I'm just pulling ideas out here, and not all will apply to you, but only you know that for sure.

Yes, I have given my life to God many times, surrendered that is.

I am so delighted to hear this. So now, believe this.....He is able to KEEP all you have committed unto Him. You committed your life...correct.....now you are HIS, and it is GOD who works in you to will AND to do of His good pleasure. But we don't do it in our own strength...but HIS. Maybe that is why **you** are so exhausted????

Also Ole, are you eating and sleeping?

Ole,

Coat of Many Colors

“Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age. Also he made him a tunic of many colors. But when his brothers saw that their father loved him more than all his brothers, they hated him and could not speak peaceably to him. Now Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it to his brothers; and they hated him even more.” (Genesis 37:3-5).

This scripture indicates that Israel (Jacob), expressed his great love for his favorite son Joseph by making him a ‘coat of many colors’. This unique gift was made by a Father who clearly chose the design, the colors and the time to present it to the son. Presented at the time Joseph was only a teenager this definitely made a ‘statement’ to his older brothers.

A Coat For Royalty
The Hebrew translation for coat of many colors is ‘kethoneth passim’. Kethoneth’ means a tunic or coat. ‘Passim’ can be translated as colorful, fine woollen, embroidered, with pictures or striped. It can also mean that the garment was full-length and long sleeved. ‘Kethoneth passim’ was a royal garment which was meant to symbolize Joseph’s stature. Israel’s (Jacob’s) intent was that Joseph should take Reuben’s place as the leader of his brothers and receive the double blessing of the first-born.

Psalm 45 is often depicted as a song of love from the Messiah. The Bride of Christ is depicted as one as royalty dressed in glorious raiments.

“The royal daughter is all glorious within the palace; Her clothing is woven with gold. She shall be brought to the King in robes of many colors” (Psalm 45: 13- 14).

Designed for Diversity
Joseph’s ‘coat of many colors’ indicates a diversity of many things over many facets which is an anointing of multiplication. It is not coincidental that Joseph received this coat after showing obedience to his father, nor that he received prophetic dreams which had implications for the nations.

Today there are people like Joseph who have been received an anointing of increase and have been prepared to preserve life. These are the faithful ones who have learned obedience through the things they have suffered. Like Joseph, they will be used by God in this generation to transfer great storehouses of power and wealth.

I found this article ( not mine, I didn't write it) , but I would change the last sentence here Of ***transfering power and wealth ??** to something not so earthly but more spiritual. To just be a Testamony of God's Power and wealth to those who are in Christ..the Riches that are in Christ Jesus!

Thie picture of a coat of many colors was my own words, I too had a dream of that God would do great things in my birth town, I was almost manipulated into promising that I would go back to the church if God would not do anything, I have been ahead of thing in places, I beiieve that the time has not yet been right to do the things I should do, but it all could be a preparation of me to greater things.

I was almost manipulated into promising that I would go back to the church if God would not do anything,

Good Morning Ole,

Do you mean someone else tried to manipulate you to go back and do something because God wasn't doing anything? I'm not sure if I understood exactly what you are saying...sorry if that is not what you meant.

Do you still live in this town you were born in?

Not that it matters, but is it a large town?, small?

Ole, have you read all of the life of Joseph? There might be something in that scripture the Lord wants to show you...besides the coat of many colors....but used that in a way to get your attention to something deeper.

I am so inspired by the life of Joseph. I also see a pattern in Joseph's life that rings true for all of us who belong to the Lord.

One thing is how God works, in His timing. Some examples would be Moses, David, Paul just to name a few.

God had a call on Moses life...yet he had to spend 40 years tending sheep before the Lord could use him.

The Lord had a call on David's life, yet look what he went through for so many years( don't know how many, but he was just a child when first called) went through tough times....before the Lord could effectively use him.

And Paul, also had a mighty call on his life, and after he was saved...spent 14 years alone on the back side of a mountain learning from the Lord, His WORD, before the Lord could effectively use him.

There are too many today who crash and burn! Why, because they run ahead of the Lord, trying to do all these things, end up losing their testimony, because they themselves were not prepared by God first.

It's in those times of waiting on the Lord we develop our root system. Think of a newly planted tree. What happens in the life of a tree?

1. First a seed is planted. But have you studied the process of a seed. Do you know the outer chaff of that seed needs to die off before that inner seed breaks out and begins to grow? They say in the rockies and around that forest fires are actually good, because the intense heat from the fire brings new growth that could never happen with out it.

2. Trees not only need sunshine, but rain, and lightening.....and it's those bolts of lightening that put the nourishment in the soil. Yet lightening without rain may not do much in and of itself.

Ephesians 5:26
That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,

3. Pruning...ouch! but necessary to give the roots time to dig deep. Shallow roots and heavy branches blow over in a storm.

4. Fruit trees may not bear fruit in the first year, but those who do, God will prune again to bring forth MORE Fruit.

We can't bear fruit apart from the Lord. He's the "Good Ground"...not us.... So in reality we are a branch:

John 15
1I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.

2Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.

3Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.

4Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

5I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

6If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

7If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

8Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.

Herein Is my Father Glorified!!!! Amazing words we overlook. This is what brings Glory to God.

The Lord wants to establish you in HIS WORD, because all this is completely centered around His Word.

Well, Maybe sometime Ole you can share your testimony with us. When did you hear the Gospel, how did you hear the Gospel?

Love in Christ
Katy

2 Thessalonians 1:4-5

4So that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure:

5Which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer:

Ole

If you seen and had the coat of many colors as Joseph did, just remember what the Scriptures say and what happened. What the devil meant for bad, God turned around for good. It did not happen instantaneously though. I think it was 13 years I believe before Joseph really saw what God had was doing even though he remained faithful to the Lord in the meantime. He endured hardship many years before he got to the blessing and he also forgave his brothers.

I am locking this thread, I personally think the subject matter and the topic is not right. I have advised that this felllow seek "live" human accountability and prayer on this issue and we need not advise anymore on the internet.

thank you.
