(I decided to change the title of this thread without changing the subject matter. I hope that's ok with the moderators if not please let me know.)

Can't we have just one Todd Bentley, thread so that were not cluttering up the forum? Just a suggestion... This is all you see for the most part when you come on here.

Maybe the biggest splash since Billy Graham. He is affecting 10s of thousands for the devil. for now, a standard and a wall is being raised. Sermonindex is only a small section of that wall, but I believe an important one. Ministries nationwide are standing firm against. The crowds are shrinking a little in Lakeland, and Bentley is invading Europe in mid August. I believe many are waking up because of the stand...Nationwide and here.

"The gates of hell shall not prevail against the Church."

It is not over yet, but I sense a shift in the tide. We will go away when he does, as he affects the well being of the body.

I understand that it needs to be exposed.

I will be glad when he takes his toys and goes home because he's sure made a mess of our living room.

I will be glad when he takes his toys and goes home because he's sure made a mess of our living room.

Most TV does this! Why not turn it off! This fellow cannot come into your living room except that you allow it. He is not the problem!

We will go away when he does, as he affects the well being of the body.

Interestingly, no one talks about him here, and I haven’t seen anything on TV.

I see it this way: The authentic will stand, the unauthentic will fall. Why try beating down a falling wall! Let God do that. Our fleshly attempts merely put bricks into the wall. (Remember, bad press against something gives fuel to the thing.)

We will go away when he does,

Perhaps he is a test for us all, a lure? Are we going to let a man consume our thoughts and our passions, or will it be Jesus? After all, if Christ is not pre-eminent in our lives, if we are not filled to the brim with his love, if we are not about doing the business God has called us to: shine for Jesus, then we will have nothing to offer in place of the unauthentic.

May the Lord direct our thoughts, sights, and passions back to Jesus, and enable us to be ambassadors of Christ, living letters, and ministers of reconciliation. What our minds dwell on, that is what will emanate from us. We have only so much brain space, why waste it.

”Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.” Col. 3:2

Oh, that was just a figure of speech sister, this is the LIVING room I was referring to. :-) I don't watch t.v. I haven't watched t.v. in five years except for the news occasionally. I hate the news too it's depressing. Since most everyone lives here for the most part I called it "Our Living Room". :-)

No, I only watched Todd Bentley, once for about 20 minutes and never watched it again. I also have never read any of the threads about him. I am trying to focus on things above.

Sorry, I now feel foolish for missing your point. However, I plead with you that you will accept the spirit of my post, as it applies all the more to your actual underlying meaning (or the one I am assuming you mean: our minds) Hey, our minds, not just living rooms and forums, need to be kept uncluttered from that which defiles it, right? And, of course, it’s up to us to choose to dwell on that which is pure, lovely, admirable, of good repute, excellent, praiseworthy. (That’s a little sermon to me.)

May the mind of Christ, my Savior,
Live in me from day to day,
By His love and power controlling
All I do and say.
May the Word of God dwell richly ...

See Crsschks.[Mike Balog ] post on Bentley's healings "Verifiable" it is brilliant, and right on. Answers this question to the T.

I have bumped this thread, because I do feel it is important to keep a thread open, to continue to dialogue, and expose, in the light of the Bible, and holy discernment.

Why? A standard lifted up, in Jesus's name...so that those headed for the snare would see, and not step in it. So that those who have, would be delivered, as they realize that Bentley is evil, and of Satan. To present the True Jesus, and the true gospel, of repenting from our evil works, and heart unto trusting him, and continually believing in His goodness.

Sermonindex has had an impact upon this demonic ministry. Maybe small in comparison, but the combined , and God inspired outrage of many, have opened some eyes, and maybe put some doubt into his supporters and benefactors. Sermonindex has the vehicle, along with the resources, in light of the many great men of God in the past, and now, to clearly illuminate the doctrines, and acts of unclean spirits, masquerading as sons of God.

Sermonindex also has this forum. A mighty tool of expression..[it can be used to edify, or tear down though..], and perhaps more important, Declaration. We have declared, in the face of stern opposition, that this..[Bentleys operation and "anointing] is the warning the Bible has said will come.. strong delusion! It is very clear here...but that is because of the Apostolic foundations that are embraced here. These are not everywhere. These are the hard to find, and the hard to hear foundations.

These teachings, and views held here as commonplace, and are decidedly uncommon. I think they must be taken advantage of, or unappreciated, by some on the forums, as the treasure they are....compiled and accessible. Wow!

But embracing these teachings of repentence, and faith, in the world of our lives; will change us, as we believe. If we believe in faith, we will become like, and as JESUS of Nazareth. Satan hates this! He is always looking for avenues to disrupt the unity, and to attack the perpetrators of holy life. [remember the moderators...they need strength and wisdom, more than you can imagine.]

I feel an obligation to continue to lift up this standard, to those here, my brothers, and to those there, that may be influenced by evil. I do not want them lost, or devoured. I am obviously not alone in this effort, nor do I want to refer myself as a leader in it. I am a shepherd..I have a portion of Jesus's heart for the lost, and dying. This is that, and why we must continue to "cry out". Many have heard, and understood. Bentley, like it or not, is somewhat on the defensive now.

This is a good thing. Recently he has sanitized his historical teachings, having them edited. [trying to expunge Abraham's advice...what's up with that?] lol....

Recently he has denied saying some more radical things about female angels...[Emma got too hot to handle!]...His crowds are shrinking some, overall. [ largely inflated by the college crowd who gathered as an "event" "happening" experience, with free heavy metal rock concerts!...in the pitch black night..] well, school is back, and they must go...and so is Todd....to Europe, and a new start...

Only, as the black cloud lifts, and wings her way to the old country, the aftermath remains. There is no peace in this carnival. A massive deflation is coming in many, many people...as they encounter life, without the stimulation and hypnotic sensuality. Sermonindex will be here, but we must continue to say. that this is that, and trumpet the Way, also.

These are my thoughts. As I have said before, I will say again. This is not flattery. I am grateful to Sermonindex to be allowed to voice my indignation, and concerns. This is a rare thing, because much reproach, and vicious attack follows those who hoist that flag up..[think of Iwo Jima as you think of a standard]

So far, [and I hope forever], Sermonindex has been willing to pay that price, and I am grateful.

C

Brothertom,

You said,

"There is no peace in this carnival."

"Why? A standard lifted up, in Jesus's name"

Is this following how you speak in a holy a reverent way in God's name?...

"...trying to expunge Abraham's advice...what's up with that?] lol...."

Is this that funny, really?

"...[Emma got too hot to handle!]..."

Is God speaking here brothertom, or you?

"This is a rare thing, because much reproach, and vicious attack follows those who hoist that flag up..."

You make this statement after the attacks you just made in another thread against a poster there?

P

Chris, we have asked you to stop this. I am very dismayed to log on and find yet another new post aimed at Brothertom...and at the top of the forum. This really needs to stop.

PM me if you'd like to talk about this. Please, brother, I know you are wiser and more mature than this. Set the example.

Brother Paul

Brother Paul,

I am asking you and the other moderators to state publicly here whether the behavoir that I have called into question is godly and upholding the integrity of these forums:

"We are living testaments to the Truth, not supposed to be, but in truth and spirit, we are the outworking of Him. "I am the way, the truth and the light." Our very words carry the weight and responsibility of either our authenticity or our duplicity.

For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned. Mat 12:37

Even our shortcomings and failures are testament if we are always at the ready to confess and correct and be corrected. We have nothing in and of ourselves to defend save the Lords testimony and our humility is so great an opportunity to present Jesus as Lord, as Truth, as the only Way, that it is to our shame that we are not more forthcoming in our failure to be ever more presently honest.

We therefore will continue to test all things. 1Th 5:21

The world is watching."

Brothertom, I agree with you and I do believe the standard needs to be lifted up but my concern is too much attention being placed on this guy instead of revival which is what we are all here for I hope anyway. I know that is your heart from what I have read from your posts and I know you have no intention on getting away from that. I just hope that others do continue to inform and warn others here but that the emphasis stays on revival. Thanks for clarifying what your intentions are and reminding us how important it is to warn others. Blessings..

P

Dear Brother Chris,

Brothertom has the liberty to publically express his feelings and convictions without being badgered and relentlessly harangued. What you are doing to him here is akin to harassment. It makes no difference to me what he says about Bentley, Hinn, Osteen, Tozer, etc. He is entitled to express his burdens freely granted he doesn't use profanity or is unwantonly malicious. I, for one, happen to share in much of his convictions...though I'm more hesitant to be as vocal as he is. All the same, he is entitled - everyone here is entitled - to express what they feel, backed by scripture, without the fear of being hounded and badgered post after post by someone who has decided to take this a little too personally.

This has now become a personal matter between you two, and we cannot have these feuds in the forums; it is bad blood for everyone, and the blood spills over into other threads like what is happening here. The first thread was locked for this very reason and now you would continue the same here?

Leave it alone, let it go. Commit him to God if you must, for reprimand, but you need to step away and open your eyes and see how this behavior is making you appear before thousands.

C
ChrisJD

Brother Paul,

I am taking a stand about how someone is speaking in God's name.

This is the very thing that is being permitted otherwise, against Mr. Bently.

How is this any different?

Does Mr. Bently then have the right to continue to speak how he speaks without brothertom challenging him for months on end here?

Edit: Am I entitled to express my burden for these forums, as you said he is entitled to express his?

S
sermonindex

Paul, I don't mind a bit if you want to lock this thread. I'll leave that up to you.

P
PaulWest

Am I entitled to express my burden for these forums, as you said he is entitled to express his?

Of course you are, Chris, but this has gone beyond expressing opinion; you are now leveling each and every post at him like a gun and following him from thread to thread. He has more than once apologized, but this was not enough. He also offered to take it private with you, and that was not enough either.

Well, brother, this is where Mike and I must step in to moderate. Tom is allowed to express what is on his heart about Bentley, and you are allowed to express what is on your heart about how Tom is in error. What you are not allowed to do is follow him from thread to thread with the same pistol.

I am taking a stand about how someone is speaking in God's name.

Brother, you've made you stand, we all know how you feel. Please step down now and back off, leave it in God's hands for reprimand or rebuke. Is God not able to chasten His own children without you tackling them to the ground?

C
ChrisJD

Brother Paul,

"Brother, you've made you stand, we all know how you feel. Please step down now and back off, leave it in God's hands for reprimand or rebuke. Is God not able to chasten His own children without you tackling them to the ground?'"

Alright, I will. Thank you deeply for exercising patience with me.

P
PaulWest

Alright, I will. Thank you deeply for exercising patience with me.

Dear brother, the Lord has taught me patience by his own dealings with me, a person less than a worm and more obstinate than anyone in these forums. I love you, brother, and if it were the other way around I would be defending you and addressing the other person in a heartbeat. I pray you know this.

Brother Paul

C
ChrisJD

I believe you Paul.

Because you have suggested that I have been at fault here, please pray for me that I could discover and repent of it also.

Thank you,

Love to you also,

Chris

I just wanted to say if there was not a thread about Todd Bentley, than I would be the first to start one. I just want to spend the majority of my time thinking on things above as I know most here do. I guess what I am trying to say is that we need to have a balance. A false balance is an abomination to the Lord and we must hate what He hates if we want to have revival. Blessings...

As I've followed what everyone is saying about TB and the Lakeland revival (so Called) it has amazed me how easily certain principles from the very Word of God we can lay aside for "righteousness" sake in defense of the "truth". The Word of God says to let your speach alawys be seasoned with grace,Eph 4:29,....
I think what has happened here is that what started out as questions and simply pointing out the errors in one mans (or even a groups) doctrines, we quickly went to coming against a personality, to ALL who have done that, we have stepped over the line and trespassed, and that's what we call a transgression. I think a great example of defending the truth can be found in the writtings of the early church fathers like Justin Martyr. Much can be gleaned from these early saints, especially in how they defended the faith, not only in the public areana (government) but also in the churches.
I think it would be wise to refrain from pointing out peoples charateristics or personality traits or even the way an individual may express or manifest what they believe is the Holy Spirit manifesting through them. And for you demon hunters, if anyone has mannerisms that ruffle your spiritual feathers and you honestly believe it is demonic, simply cast it out or bind it up, if you can do neither than sit quietly because you are in sin because of "lack" of faith, what so ever is not of faith is sin, and you are in need of repentance as much if not more than the person you have an issue with.
As to the revival dieing out? It was never really in the control of Mr. Bentley to begin with. We forget that Jesus is the great shepard of our souls and that He knows each and everyone of His children by name. So to recap>>>>shareing doctrinal correction is a good thing

Joh 17:9 I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine.

I am praying for you brothertom. I pray that you don’t burn yourself out over this certain individual who has consumed most of your energies.

There is no need of calling his name or saying anything about Him, because you have made your point and have done the best any body could do in describing what you think of Him.

Fret not thyself over evil doers! I am concerned about you in this. I think we can become obsess with something and I only say this in Love.

I will probably get blasted for this because you have a way with words few people seem to have. So go ahead brother and give me a sermon and show me my faults because I’m sure it will help me in the long run.

Love in Christ.

Rbanks and mameluke: thank you for your concern about "obsession". I have posted many times in many other threads and and have some up as we speak. As the moderators have said, if this wearies you, don't read it, or reply. This is a vast forum with lots and lots of other places to go to spend your energies.... Good, edifying, teaching ones.

The only reason I continue to "name his name", is it is about more than that. It is about making a stand as long as he is in "my" face, and my friends. Making a stand, and the WHY and the WHY of it. Why we stand...there are many, many more right here on this forum who see the Godliness of it to say "No, you are not a son of God" to Bentley. "You are a son of Baal."

I do this, along with many like minded saints, because many are dying, because they know no better. Some, today, who have never heard of the gospel presented in the winds of truth, may believe in the "Winds of Change"...[an angel's name who anoints Bentley..] This is poison fruit, and in the long run, it will hurt them. Jesus gives life.

This is not burning "most of my energies". It is a normal and everyday life I lead and have long before I ever heard the name Sermonindex. I respect Sermonindex. I'm not the only one. I believe Greg Gordon posted a similar thread, and Mike Balog commented several times in a similar vein, with a brilliant assessment of the prophetic heart....burning with tears and indignation...within him.

Did you ever consider that some are righteously indignant? That take the risks and pay the backlash to expose evil, call it what it is, and do so for God's heart?

My brothers, there are some who do, and I believe it is necessary...and it isn't about those who do. It is about God's lambs, that we are commanded to care for. .

"Am I my brother's keeper?"..Cain... You should have been, Cain. First John"By this we know love; because He laid down his life for us, so ought we lay our lives for the brethren." The bible says that this is love.

One thing you do not know about my passion here. I have friends, that have walked with me for well over 30 years, who now love Todd Bentley, and now hate me. They were close. Why do you think this is? how could it be? We are dealing with strong delusion here...very strong. I would have considered my friends unmovable in Christ. now, they are close to dying, and falling away.

Multiply that, by thousands, and all of those overcome by this magic...and you have an epidemic. It has hit home for me, and I will not go away, and I will keep sounding an alarm, as is necessary to the Lord....both here, and wherever I go, or am. I am not alone. There are many other posters under this thread, that align with me, and have locked arms together.

Unfortunately the personality is the error and is his own attraction.

I think it would be wise to refrain from pointing out peoples charateristics or personality traits or even the way an individual may express or manifest what they believe is the Holy Spirit manifesting through them.

Including kicking elderly women in the face with ones biker boot and kneeing in the stomach a man with stage 4 colon cancer ... I think not.

It is not a revival.

I have bumped this thread, because I do feel it is important to keep a thread open, to continue to dialogue, and expose, in the light of the Bible, and holy discernment.

Brothertom, I appreciate your wonderful zeal for the Word. I’d like to share a few thoughts in response to your various comments:

Over the years I have discovered that trying to put God’s word against the backdrop of very powerful figures or movements can become counterproductive. In other words, it can have the opposite effect that we desire. We find ourselves simply “proving” to the deceived ones that they are right and we don’t “see the light”. So, in response to our aggressive attempts, they reinforce their loyalty to their “hero”! I’ve seen it happen over and over again.

Sometimes our attempts end up hurting others and ourselves. Why? Because we don’t respect our own limitations. Hey, if we are not trained to be a fireman, handling a fire hose can be dangerous. Pride can deceive us into thinking that we can handle something when we cannot. There are some “fires” that are better handled by those called and prepared, Godly apologists, theologians. They can handle this far better and with diplomacy and the right words. Let us pray that God will lead them and help them be faithful. And let us humbly learn from them before setting off our own rockets, only to have them explode in our face.

Sometimes our lack of success is due to the fact that we have been operating in the flesh not the Spirit. And that robs us of our peace and joy. Our sights are more set on the problem than on God.

The other problem of juxtaposing a popular false figure beside God is that, we can easily digress into endless disputes. Why? Because the entire attempt is based on a faulty foundation - which could be the movement under question, or the deployment of toxic “discerners” such as (DELETED NAME). Surely there have been enough posts by now to reveal this.

BrotherTom, I see that you have a dear friend who slipped into this movement, and in your attempt to hold him back, you have lost him. This reminds me of the trials that countless parents face when they watch their children stray. Yet the more they try to hold back their wayward ones, the more resolved those rebellious youth are to go in their own direction. Indeed, there is a time to leave those we care about in God’s hands, and pray them though their sojourning in the “far country”. The Father in the Prodigal Parable did not control, use anger, or force. There is a good lesson in that. You see, the Father realized that only when the son hit “rock bottom” would he be coming back home – eagerly, willingly, and authentically.

BrotherTom, I’m sure that you have wept and grieved over your friend, and pleaded with God in prayer. I exhort you to continue weeping, and weeping, and weeping. And as you weep before the Lord, God will do something within you. He will give you a meek heart, a heart full of mercy. And as you weep for the sinner, you begin weeping for yourself too – seeing that you too are a fallen creature. While you weep, the Spirit may show you that you have lacked love in your zeal to defend the truth. Or you have tried to do it in your own strength and your own timing. Or something else. Weeping softens your heart.

Now, how do you think I could even suggest those possibilities? Yes, because I have been there, over and over and over again. I am all too aware of the challenge of letting God be God and let me be who I am called to be. I want to be God. It’s that wretched fruit from the tree, again.

BrotherTom, I trust that you will eagerly set your heart on being a minister of reconciliation, and God will bless you. Guaranteed! How do I know? It is the message of the beatitudes, right? You do not know when the prodigals in your life will hit the bottom. Perhaps several years. God knows, though. Your job is to be filled with the Spirit, with God’s peace and joy. Why, this in itself may draw the sinner back – some day!

There is a powerful sermon on SI by Carter Conlon, in which he calls God’s people to be ready to receive those who will someday return to the Father – when they realize that all these false movements have been nothing but dry deserts.

If someone remembers that sermon title, perhaps they could post it. This may be a good time.

This post is in no way about me, Brother tom. The moderators have made that very clear. The issue at hand is a false "healing" revival, that is not from God, and is wounding those who may know the true Christ.

Perhaps the reason that we "digress into endless disputes" is the fact that we have made it personal, and make attempts to analyze or dispute him or her, rather than the issues. We war among ourselves, rather than dialogue in an edifying, or discerning way, about the issues at hand. We want to win our argument, no matter who we step on in the process.

I am not saying you are doing this, but I am not going to respond about my psychological mechanisms or motives. The Lord will show me what love and peace is about, and I covet your prayers.

Todd Bentley is not winning. He is on the wane. Do you tell others about him, when the subject comes up? What do you do to warn others about him, that may be curious? Do you feel this is a stain on the truth? Do you agree that he is demonic, and is blasphemous?

This is the content of this dialogue and post. Perhaps you feel that he shouldn't be harassed, and he has his rights too? But, since you pray a lot, I would like your input on the issues, not me. This may be the biggest splash[ not ministry, but focused attention on one man.] since Billy Graham...I'm guessing. It is certainly the biggest concerning one man in my 37 years as a Spirit filled believer.

So, if he is indeed, Diane, a wicked and demonic man, rather than a righteous and holy man, it is important....so that no more of my friends, or your children believe that this is God, when it is His Enemy, sowing poisoned wheat.

These are the issues we should concern ourselves about.

Thanks for your prayers......about it all.

Doesn't anybody else find it quite interesting that the Pentecostal Evangel that is an AG magazine has nothing to say about this Lakeland thing with Todd Bentley, since it is happening in an Assembly of God church...

It frustrates me alot, since I myself am AG..
sigh. :-(

dear Brothertom:
My wife at church this morning leaned over to me after worship and asked me a question:
She said what would you do if someone you know, a friend had a well for water and they were telling you about someone selling well water purifier, or enhancer, and all they had to do was pour it into their water and it will purify it or make it cleaner, purer, or just more efficient.
Sounds great right, but she says to me, but what would you do if you knew the charector of the person selling this stuff or knew the stuff he was selling was poison, and you knew it because you tested it and knew it was poison, and could even prove it.
But your friend was sold on the stuff and besides that your friend thinks your extreme or going overboard or being overly cautious?

It is something I am going to have to pray about because I am faced with the same kind of thing with this TB stuff in our church, with people trying to get leadership to buy this well water purifier:cry:
I suppose on the internet, it would be quite impossible to accomidate every personality when warning someone, but on a one on one face to face interaction, we would be more equipped to handle every situation.
As a watchman, me included, we always try and make sure our hands are clean even though it ruffles feathers. At least there is dialog..
God bless

Unfortunately the personality is the error and is his own attraction.
Including kicking elderly women in the face with ones biker boot and kneeing in the stomach a man with stage 4 colon cancer ... I think not.
It is not a revival.

As far as we know these were isolated incidences that happened many years ago. I just wonder what many of us may have done in our past, which has, unbeknownest to us, forever labeled our character?

:-( I guess I will for now see this matter entirely different than you all.Rom 8:28 And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.
The whole chapter really.
Is this a revival or not? Are these things from the Lord or not? Are there any real healings there or not? I don't know. God hasn't allowed me to have anything on this matter except silence, the few scriptures I do have could just be from my own heart and a deep desire for those who are hurting. But know this, I hold no malice in my heart toward anyone on this matter, no one here nor Mr. Bentley nor anyone involved in the Lakeland meetings. And as to this subject I will no longer participate in this topic.

There is a powerful sermon on SI by Carter Conlon, in which he calls God’s people to be ready to receive those who will someday return to the Father – when they realize that all these false movements have been nothing but dry deserts.

Beware of the Angry Watchmen

Description: October 28, 2007 - There is a false revival on the rise. It is the rise of the angry watchman who will cast stones at those who have gone astray from the Lord. This false revival consists of ministers who have led people away from the truth through legalism and a misguided prosperity gospel. They will forbid and command prodigals not to come into the presence of God until you work your way back into His favor through human effort and religion. We must not remove the veil from the bride of Christ. We have a righteousness that can not be taken away from us because Jesus is our veil.

Just listened to it again Saturday working. It does give much to ponder on and yet I do not believe the many here would do anything but bend over backward in such a situation, even TB. Saying that much sounds like there is something 'personal' about him, there is and yet, there is not.

On the flip-side of what you mentioned sister and I understand what you mean, the limitations especially and whether we are responding to ongoing discussion or out purposely to find something, sometimes just doing research is going to bring up more alarms ... there are so many variables to all this. But what I wanted to say redundantly is the more ironic part of those who 'kept it up' in standing firm of their convictions, not wavering or toning things down to make them more palpable. It was those that got my ear and my conscience and started the thinking process, stirred up the suppressed things, the things that I either knew or suspected where there, were in error or could be. The other thing is, as a more or less new born it was very difficult to grapple with who was telling the truth, the very points you make about solidifying to those who are being opposed was indeed part of it ... at first. But those defenses began to come down once a more thorough investigation coupled with the greatest piece of advice I had heard up to that time, to go back to the classics of the faith ... and those especially began to show me a completely different 'Christianity' than I was being led to believe in a WOF, prosperity, experience and signs and wonders atmosphere. The questionings that I had in the midst of that dilema were so pervasive that, I just asked more questions! Of everyone, practically anyone, there was no SI at that time to bounce things off of and the dear lady that pointed me to the classics of the faith in a Christian bookstore was responding to my shared perplexity and questioning to begin with.

It is the strong preaching that will win out ultimately coupled with unwavering faith and guttural conviction.

Same here brother and especially towards yourself and Chris and Tom ... Dear brothers you all are, this thing has got a lot of passion and zeal behind it and I do not find that arbitrary at all, it's a good thing. We have said that this place can often resemble a M.A.S.H. unit at times and this is apparently one of those. Besides all that, in the inestimable words of our brother Krispy, it's OK, you are just wrong.

Thank you for the insight, and it is a great insight. "You shall know them by their fruits. Even though some of the cherries are beautiful, and seemingly edifying....it is the rotton peaches he is carring that I'm afraid of!

Satan came to Jesus, as he did to EVE, with a portion of truth. Jesus clung to the Word in purity, which of couse HE was!, and EVE succombed to the promise that she would be as God, and not die.

God is holy, and the truth is not the truth unless accompanied by full holiness. This is Satan's advantage on us human's. He is stronger, and smarter than us, and mixes truth, as to portray the whole truth. Some see the portion that seems good, not realizing that truth will not dwell with any darkness whatsoever. "The light shined into the Darkness, and the darkness "comprehended it not". ...or fled from the light...as the sunrise.

This is where false prophets like Bentley..[and a plethora of deceivers before him] have an advantage on the immature, the young, and the ignorant. They say God showed himself to them, and proclaim a path to find this God...through them, of course.

READ ACTS 20![/b This is what deceivers do. They must have a thread of the true, to build upon, to establish the false.

good point. Bentley is that!

Well, it should be! You are a brother in Christ, and you can be destroyed by the very force that you are trying to fight against – in your effors to resist. I am concerned about you. You cannot fight the devil in the flesh. ”Our struggle is not against flesh and blood….. “

Brother, have you wept?

Mike, thank you for posting the sermon. It's a great one. Now, I was thinking of the one preached last year after the SI conference, that was about our calling to be prepared to receive back those who come out of the false movements, realizing that these are dry deserts.

Hi sister, that is the same message.

Some people here on SI suggest one should pray fervently for false teachers (I am not disputing this concern)....and then a question arises in my mind and that I would like to ask now: do you know of any false teachers who ever repented of teaching false doctrine? of anyone who was such a high profile teacher as Bently? At the moment there seems to be one but his name escapes me, but that is all. Think about it: how many false teachers have actually come back to the true faith in Christ Jesus? (There have been those who taught wrong doctrine who changed but who were never considered false teachers). Do the scriptures record any such conversions in all its history? Does church history?

It appears too many times to this lady that to attack the watchmen seems to silence more then the offending heretic!

Blessings,

Hi sister, that is the same message.

You are right, brother! I checked the sermon summary, and it seems to fit! Here it is:

There is a false revival on the rise.

May God reveal to us any longings for false revival, that we may humbly repent and be restored to the Lord, willing to move by HIS Spirit.

Indeed, during this season of dryness, it is easy to become bitter and crusty in our zeal to be watchmen, and so we need to guard each other, realizing that this will ultimately destroy us. I have appreciated all those who done that for me.

These are times of testing – for sure.

and pm me over any concerns you may have

No need, brother, I poured out my heart in my earlier post. I trust that you will ponder it in upcoming days, and see how the Lord may be speaking to you.

There is a ministry in the body of Christ that exposes, and confronts, and must sound an alarm, or be judged by their Maker. This is not only in the realm of intercession, but in the community; in the marketplace; in the temple.

I don't think about it, I somehow am just gravitated to it. In short, I just do it, and I find the pleasure of God in my walk. It is all very private to me; that is my personal walk with God. It's very secret. No one will know how much I pray, or if I do, or how much I may weep. That is my own secret walk with God, and I an commanded to keep it that way. My reward is with him, not man, and in that sense, and that sense alone; I do not care what man thinks of me. It doesn't matter.

I have never met one "watchman", that infers their own spirituality through subtle hints and comments, that I considered real. It seemed to me, that much of their time was spent giving hints to others about their depth in Christ, and it seemed to me, that the thing that others thought about them, was very, very, important.

I call myself brother. My goal is to be the most pleasing brother I can be to my Lord, who I fear, and his family; even unto the least of the brothers, whoever they may be, Especially unto the least of the brothers.

I do not pray for Todd Bentley. He is a wolf. If others feel led to, who am I to stop them. Do you find one instant in the book of acts, or the Epistles where this practice has precedent? I can't. We are to reject them, and I suppose at some point, they must become reprobate,,,seared,,,to continue lying over and over in the face of the truth, and they are lies that reap souls into the Eternal fire prepared for the angels that rebelled.

I have never heard of a false teacher repenting, on this level[Bentley]. consider even the peripheral "Prophetic" leaders that were so quick to endorse Bentley, fawning over him and bowing down to him like some foreign dignitary coming home for dinner. It's as if Numbness has soaked them...and they are drunk.

It will take a deep godly sorrow, and a deep repentence, for these inps to flee, and them to be in their right minds again[gadarene.]

I want to direct my prayers toward to those who may fall into their snares, with the same compassion I would have on my young granddaughter who was stepping for imminent danger. I would ask god to stop this madness, and please, send true revival...The real King and the real Kingdom of Heaven. If there is healing for a former wolf, and it is possible, it would be in the holy confines of a holy church with it's members embracing the fallen with healing in their hearts. Much Repentance also, for the evil they have committed against the innocent.

I agree with you. The precedent in the epistles is to pray for the saints. Of course that would include those called “to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body may be built up (... ) not tossed back and forth by every wind of doctrine and the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming.” Funny, I used to think that those who seemed to be fine in their walk with God didn’t need my prayers, only the ones with problems.

Perhaps the rise of false prophets is really a statement about the failure of those who should have been fulfilling this task in past years. There has been so much emphasis on behaviors and little on good thinking. But that emphasis could not sustain people against the temptations and changing values of culture. And it left minds unable to think and question. It left hearts empty, hungry, and searching for better food - thus vulnerable to false prophets (Ezekiel).
