Fireproof the new movie with kirk cameron

B
bible1985

This movie was great and i cried a few times during it. My wife and friends came too and they loved it too. At the end of the movie everyone clapped and i heard a lot of amens and praise Jesus's during it. I'm telling you the truth, this is probably one of the best christian movies ever. I also would like to say is that a lot of people try to compare movies by the standard of hollywood and its entertainment. This movie does something better than hollywood it gives us a message that can change you and hope in this life through trials. The message is good unlike so many hollywood movies that people watch, the message is meaningful. I truly turned from watching hollywood movies a few years ago and am disgusted by the filth in them. Christian movies maybe our not always up to par on production and acting, but i love the messages and i actually like the acting. If you come in comparing to hollywoods special effects and intense scenes to make the movie look better you might not get it from this. But forget hollywood and watch this with an open heart. I hope you all love it , it is so good and i think many people could come to christ after seeing this movie.

he actually did not really kiss the woman in the movie but his real wife, and also he did not get paid for the movie, he only volunteered, astonishing.

this movie should be out on dvd soon enough so any body can watch it, especially if they dont want to go out and fight the popcorn stand.
I saw it on opening night, and got there 45 minutes early, got the best seat in the house...
It was a packed house and I even cried more than my wife did, Mainly because the guy in the movie was me at one time and it was very convicting for me, remembering how I was before I got delivered, and God saved me.

This movie is a must see and definately a movie to show to men's groups and for couples groups.
oh and yes, ladies groups too.

Im sure someone can find fault in the movie, but off the top of my head I saw nothing that would offend. It had a great message, and God was glorified.
Amen

This is the greatest movie out. I don't watch TV's or movies, but my pastor insisted on this one. So I had to go to two different theaters to see it. It was sold out.

This is a great thing that there has been success to this film. This does not replace evangelism or surely the greater need for revival. But it is a way to reach "some".

I heard currently its 4th in the box office results above many multi-million dollar films with very famous actors.

My fiance and I went to see this movie. I highly recommend it. It is definitely one of the best Christian movies I have ever seen, and perhaps, was the most realistic as far as dealing with real life situations that hit close to home. This movie shows how Christ indeed matters.

This is really cool... havent seen it yet, but will. It's great to see God increase this ministry. Their first movie, Flywheel, was a great story line... but low budget. Facing the Giants was awesome. And this time around they were able to hire professional actors for Fireproof.

This is a great example of how God can give the increase to a ministry when they stay true to Him. How cool.

Go see it!!! First we do not support Christian Movie producers the way we should. Second this is a really good movie. Very high production standards, solid writing and acting is excellent.
Hurry!! This is a limited release, if the theaters do not fill the seats they will dump the movie, and replace it with the normal Hollywood trash.

God bless you Greg!

The movie is nothing but what's coming down the pick now - it's all about those false "Kingdom" theology teachings:
Kingdom Now
Kingdom Authority
Kingdom DominionA
Body Ministry
,......they keep changing their name but it's the same demons seducing the massess.

Read over the "The Love Dare" http://www.amazon.com/gp/reader/0805448853/ref=sib_dp_ptu#reader-link workbook it's philosophy and vain deceit. It's also seduced by the same ~change~ demons that are Global which also the world speaks about also. ~Change~ is the World's god and the world in the church is following suit.

The flesh nature loves these two because it won't ever instruct it to die. Because these things are all about show and tell; like God said "vain deceit".

Col 2:8

8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

We're trying to get more involved with the people in our church and they have rented out a theatre for us but I am concerned with this whole "Love is everything" concept if that is what this is.

Rivquah, your discerning correctly it's not Agape (Calvary) Love it goes back to 3 Marxist's who wrote a book called "Human Relations in Cirriculm Change". California exposed it in the Senate back in the 50's for what it was - Transformational Marxism. All these cirricular workbooks in even churches are based on these same HUMANISM teachings. But only years later the colleges teach school teacher from books just like "Human Relations in Cirriculm Change".

Most church folks won't befriend you aright, especially if you don't join their small groups and go with the flow and ~change~ with them. Typical Marxism. This stuff is very dangerous. Seriously!!!

How long have you been a Christian?

Have you seen the film? I am interested as to how you came to such a conclusion.

I have to admit, I haven't seen it at all yet. However, I would have a difficult time believing that this is promoting "Kingdom" theology -- given Kirk Cameron's evangelistic involvement with Ray Comfort.

I watched the film "Facing the Giants" last year. I was impressed by its simple message. That film, like this one, was produced for "peanuts." This film (Fireproof) was created and distributed for less than $500,000. Most studios spend more than $500,000 on their movie posters alone. I seriously doubt that the film is intended to simply entertain or make money, but rather to get an evangelistic message out to a larger audience.

I am curious about how people felt after having viewed the film. My wife and I haven't watched the film yet, and might not watch it at all. It isn't even shown at any of the nearby theaters. However, I would like to know more about it in case it does come to the area (or if we decide to watch it on DVD). Thanks!

:-)

So without seeing it people here are concluding it's all about "Kingdom Dominion" theology and Marxism??

Did someone leave the gate at the nut-farm open??

How about seeing the movie before taking the risk of looking like fools for making judgements without knowing what in the world your talking about?

This forum gets more nutty every day.

jsisrl... you are aware that this is not a "hollywood" movie... right? It's a south Georgia movie. Albany, Georgia to be correct. A Baptist Church.

This movie has about as much to do with Hollywood as a bear does with going to the moon.

Like Ricky, I live in Canada and am looking forward to when this movie comes out on DVD. Based on the movie trailer, I have the impression that if nothing else, it will help people to gain a renewed appreciation for the fact that marriage is a gift that's been given to us by God. On our wedding day, my wife and I used a verse from Proverbs as a theme verse. This verse says, "A cord of three strands is not easily broken", to convey the idea that it takes, not only 2 people who are committed to one another, but also God, to truly make a marriage work.

In Christ,
John

My wife and I saw it last night. It is awesome! there was not a dry eye in the entire theatre.

It clarifies two things- dying to self, and the fact that marriage is a Covenant Relationship, that cannot be broken. Just like the Jews had a blood covenant relationship with the Lord, with all of the blessings and cursings, so does man when he marries his wife. Only in the marriage relationship is blood shed when the marriage is consummated, and the two became one flesh. This was the first command that God made in the Garden of Eden:

24. Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

Jesus clarified it further, in Matthew 19:
3. The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause? 4. And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, 5. And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? 6. Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.7.They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away? 8. He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so. 9. And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.

This movie will improve your marriage, as well as your personal walk with Jesus Christ!

Sincerely,

Walter

My husband, daughter and I went to see this movie the day it came out. It was exceptional. The first half hour is a bid rushed, but that's to set the plot up. We cried because we could relate to it. We have been like that couple. But the movie points out that marriage is about putting the other person first and Christ makes the difference. In fact, our daughter has arranged for her and her friends to go see it (they are not Christians). Every couple should go see this movie, especially if they are having difficulties. It is worth every penny of the ticket. The actors all volunteered (weren't paid) and each day started out with prayer. The actors were chosen less for their acting abilities and more for their relationship with Christ. And in the movie, when Kirk's character has to kiss his movie wife, his real life wife doubled so he was kissing only her (he says his lips are reserved for her only). This is a powerful movie. Incidently, our daughter plans to buy it when it comes out on dvd.

Yah i made sure i discerned if the message of the movie or the acting tried to add any hollywood kind of parts in it and i don't think it does. Their was humor and some flirting but that is life.

Fireproof was a very well presented christian movie. There was the theme of "Only through Christ" theme throughout the entire movie and a very clear gospel message of His sacrifice and love for us.

Like many of you, I do not care to see or read much of what the modern "church" goes after, but on this issue, I would wholeheartedly recommend that everyone see it if they can.

I remember while walking out of the movie theater last night that there was not one part of the movie that I thought was distasteful or watered down the gospel. If you're like me, you know that there is not much that I can say that about.

I guess I would question if the ones who criticize the movie have even seen it.

just some thoughts,
phil

My husband and I saw the movie tonight and thought it was great. How wonderful to see Kirk Cameron use his talent for the Lord. My daughter Hannah has a gift for acting and this will definately make a postive influence on her. She's been doing plays since she was 5 years old in church.

The greatest lesson learned in this movie is one of self sacrifice. I don't want to give too much away here. I love how they gave the verse Romans 5:8 at the end of the movie. The movie wasn't offensive at all.

I like this video clip of the movie with the song "While I'm Waiting". This is where I am right now in my walk with the Lord as I'm sure it is with most christians. We're just waiting...waiting for loved ones to return to the Lord, the church to get off the fence and for Jesus to return...

By means of a Christian book site I came that Fireproof is translated in Dutch and after reading the book I was directly enthusiastic and very curious to the film! In one word: great!! Normally said look I no films because of the generally not Christian character and for this reason are I this way under the impression of this film! The actors are Christians and stand behind their role! Between the prerecordings by I saw that they were praying… moving! I 'm graceful that the film in America is well received and here in the Netherlands I have read also favourable responses. Furthermore much respect for Kirk Cameron because he kissed in the film not the actress but his own wife! (excuse, my English is rather bad, my Dutch more better).
