Stock slide again

Dow down as much as 200 points as Fed credit plan fails to reassure investors. Bank of America woes are a drag.

With all due respect, my friend... why the daily updates on the stock market? We get it, things are pretty bad. Personally I think we all need to concentrate on the Lord, and reaching others for Christ.

Not saying we should just stick our heads in the sand... but there is only so much we can do. God is in control of whats happening, not us.

Heaping bad news on top of bad news doesnt exactly build others up, or encourage us...

I plan on popping them up daily, it helps me to get better prepared. It's much better than sticking your head in the sand. Don't you believe in staying current with the times, having vision, preparing and preparing others? Do you listen to prophets like David Wilkerson or do you think their a drag? Sorry if it's gloom and doom for you. It certainly is not for me but a better opportunity to get my house ready.

M
Miccah

Respectfully, it is a little much. All one had to do is open up a web browser and read the stories for themselves. This website is better then that. If you wish to get better prepared, do so, I encourage you. But how will producing articles that anyone can read on any main web browser, glorify the Lord on this website.

Why not focus on Jesus instead of the increadible shrinking stock market or conspiracy theories? How do these articles glorify the Lord?

I'm really concerned for about this idea that if it feels good it's God. If it doesn't specifically do something for you does that mean it's not God? It's not supposed to have an ear tickling effect.

This is the news and current events section maybe you should pray and ask the Lord for your own nitch. Sorry so blunt but you asked for it.

If you want to glorify the Lord may I suggest to you that you find something that does glorify the Lord because this does not. Honestly...

Is it all about you all the time? So who has the problem here? Obviously not me.

Greetings Rivqah

Your last post to this thread was not how brothers and sisters in Christ should be speaking to one another. You really need to spend some time in prayer about your attitude and heart.

I will be praying for you

Believe me, I'm probably more current on all this stuff than you are because it's having a dramatic effect on my business. Yes, I believe in having a vision and preparing. I do that daily.

No... I dont pay much attention to so-called "prophets" because I havent seen any yet that haven't made false prophecies, making them (according to scripture) false prophets.

I'm really concerned for about this idea that if it feels good it's God. If it doesn't specifically do something for you does that mean it's not God? It's not supposed to have an ear tickling effect.

You've been here long enough to know that this statement certainly does not apply to 99% of the folks on this forum. This is a rediculous statement.

This is the news and current events section maybe you should pray and ask the Lord for your own nitch. Sorry so blunt but you asked for it.

Why be so snarky to everyone? You get challenged so now you're going to be this way about it?

If you want to glorify the Lord may I suggest to you that you find something that does glorify the Lord because this does not. Honestly...

Uhmmm... look in the mirror, my friend.

Is it all about you all the time? So who has the problem here? Obviously not me.

You're the one making a mountain out of a mole hill.

All we said was there seems to be no point in posting the same thing over and over again everyday... whats the purpose? We all are quite aware of whats going on concerning the economy... especially us "small business" owners... especially us effected by the real estate and construction industry.

You dont have to get so snarky about it. Lighten up, Francis.

Rivqah: Christian CONTENTMENT is that sweet, inward, quiet, gracious frame of spirit, which freely submits to and delights in God's wise and fatherly disposal in every condition. ~Jeremiah Burroughs

On PREPARATION I like: "Prayer is not preparation for the work, it is the work." -- Oswald Chambers.

I also do not get the point of searching out from 1000 living men/women who call themselves “prophet”, who said what, and when, about the events of today. Is the point then that I should believe him/her, follow him/her, give great weight to what they say, run after them? For the record I listen to the preaching of Wilkerson and others. No problem and no glory to them.

I appreciate posts of news about the Kingdom of this World from many angles/subjects. This thread included. However, a glance at the world is enough. I pray the next post on this $ subject is that a US government leader calls for National prayer and repentance because they cannot fix the problems. (Just as another King did: 2 Kings 6:27 And he [the King] said, "If the Lord do not help thee, whence shall I help thee.").

I also understand the sense that one is calling out a warning, a message, and there is a little response. How about this one: PRAY - PRAY NOW - PRAY TONIGHT. It is Revival or ruin.

[Edit] Oh. My. There are a lot of posts added since I read Rivqah’s plan for daily posts, a thought it could help to post this. I will read the others now.

Rivqah,

That saying, "If it feels good just do it" was taken by yes you guessed it Karl Marx. That is what's happening Globally and in the churches they have fallen away from the Faith and have engage the Dialectic (Transformational Marxism).

Rebecca,

Are you OK? Are these the words of our Lord? Please pray - something is wrong - I ask this in love.

Couldn't be better! I don't mean to come off so strong but what Joan wrote was really nausiating to me, very religious and very pious. Not only that it was sloppy and totally inaccurate.

I work a full time job with five kids and I would just suggest to you if all you do is blog all day please atleast do your homework. Not to boast but I post alot better on 4 hours sleep then some of you who don't work and post on 8 hours sleep.

The self-righteousness and pride that you are displaying is unbecoming and not in the spirit of Christ.

Repent.

I would like to know from you Joan, before I leave this thread where I ever said that we should "search out 1000 men/women prophets", and that you should "believe him/her.."

This is quite an accusation. Am I the only one reading this?

How I love the brothers and sisters on SI. I’m really loving Rivqah right now. Maybe others are soaking in the Water (of his Word). I hear it helps with leg injuries. :-P

I would love the idea of one person culling the noise of Kingdom of this World (ok two or maybe three at most), keeping it on the same thread ($ for example). I don’t read newspapers and have no TV. I can just open my Bible and it’s all there without the lies. And of course that’s a weeks worth of food. (I did go to a neighbor’s last week to watch a news program. It wasn't worth it.)

When Iran (or the US) is bombed, when revival breaks out, when Russia invades Israel through Georgia, when the Lord returns, I expect to know it. We don’t need much information (a glance) to participate. I’m trying not to exaggerate here.

The news I love is the news that points out the ways of God working. This mammon thing does that. I pray that the awareness of Greed does not stop with US greed, wall-street greed, banking greed but that it filters down into an awareness in each heart and our dealing with it as sin. SI posters know this. A bath sounds good to me.

God Bless all His servants (and right here on SI) Made for His pleasure (Rev. 4:11)

PS The H in His always reminds me of the two crosses. There is room for me there. That is why the color.

Oh Rivqah

I am a slow poster. I thought your post with all the :-P at the end, saying you were taking a bath, meant that you were returning to the truth of Jeremiah Burroughs that you always quote. I replied with rejoicing in God how a christian who feels "kicked in the leg" does not kick back.

This thread wraping thing is nuts to me now.

I guess you did kick back and i miss-understood your long :-P post about taking a bath.

I am going to post this much and see if I am in the right thread. Who knows where my other post went. Maybe to God which would be good. :-)
