GOD IS ABOUT TO DO SOMETHING NEW AND GLORIOUS

“But I wrought [acted] for my name’s sake, that it should not be polluted before the heathen” (Ezekiel 20:14).

God is about to do something new and glorious. This new thing is beyond revival, beyond an awakening. It is a work of God that he alone initiates when he can no longer endure the polluting of his holy name. There comes a time when God determines that his Word has been so trampled into the mire, and abominations have so defiled what is called “the church,” he must rise up and defend his name before a lost world.

“For his own name’s sake,” God is going to do two mighty works. First, he is going to purge the nations and his church with awesome redemptive judgments. He is going to stop the invasion of his house by homosexuals and charlatans—and he is going to purify and cleanse the ministry and raise up shepherds after his own heart.

Second, God is going to glorify his holy name with a great intervention of mercy. In the throes of judgments being fulfilled, God is going to save the day by a supernatural “turning” of a remnant back to himself. What he did for Israel when they were being judged, he will do again in the days ahead.

You can read it all in Ezekiel 36:21–38. Summed up, this is what is prophesied: “I will have pity for my holy name which has been profaned among the heathen…not for your sakes, but for my own name’s sake. The heathen shall know that I am God. I will sprinkle clean water upon you, and you shall be clean of all filthiness. I will give you a new heart and a new spirit. I will cause you to walk in my ways. I will save you from all your uncleanness. Not for your sakes do I this, but for my own name’s sake.”

“Nevertheless I withdrew mine hand, and wrought for my name’s sake, that it should not be polluted in the sight of the heathen, in whose sight I brought them forth…. And ye shall know that I am the Lord, when I have wrought with you for my name’s sake, not according to your wicked ways, nor according to your corrupt doings, O ye house of Israel, saith the Lord God” (Ezekiel 20:22, 44).

Oh, yes, God is going to do some house-cleaning
The money-changers and those who prostitute
religion for gain, those who abuse their position
of authourity over the flock will be the first
to go. God is raising up a remnant of people
who honor and magnify His name, who set them-
selves apart from the stain of sin and the filth
of the world, who love righteousness and truth
more than life!! Want to be a part of that ??
I DO !!

GRACE....GRACE as we go thru the refiner's fire and come out as pure gold.
This reminds me of words to a song....and when the work's completed may I have a servants heart...not my will but thine be done.

Dear Saints,

This is the day we have prayed and fasted and wept over for so long ...I pray that mens hearts will not harden, BUT REPENT in and thru this. May we God do all that we can to restore the body to health, help us to redeem the time and help bind up the wounds as the people come out of the destruction and rubble. Let us have the healing balm of Gilead in our hands. For so many have been deceived by this false teaching and money power hungry leaders.

Sorry, I have seen my friends and people I have loved fall into the snare of the enemy and take the easy road of comfort they were offered and as God allows the calamities and destruction to purge and purify all of us "the church" ...I pray for Grace and mercy !!!!

Shall we examine David Wilkerson's False prophecies before we get too excited here.

David Wilkerson
False Prophecies & Unscriptural Teaching
I have a hard time writing about David Wilkerson for two reasons:

1. He is a mixed bag. Some of his sermons and writings have a lot of good points.
2. His book, "The Vision" is the one that I had just finished reading when I first turned to Christianity. This was in 1975, in my bedroom in the village of Langenselbold, West Germany. So, for the longest time it was hard for me to be impartial. Yet when assessing teachings and teachers of our faith, we need to hold them to the same Biblical standard (Acts 17:11).

This article will look at David Wilkerson's prophecies and teachings. After we have seen examples, we can make conclusions based on our open-Bible policy.

PROPHECIES

1. NO MORE GOSPEL ON TV BY 1999?

He preached this in the Solomon Church in December of 1994:

"Right now I sense in my spirit that in less than 5 years there will be no more so-called gospel television networks. They will all fall into bankruptcy and absolute ruin."
2. 1000 FIRES IN NEW YORK CITY DUE TO RACE RIOTS IN 1993?

From a prophecy of September 7, 1992:

"I have had recurring visions of over 1,000 fires burning at one time here in New York city. I am convinced race riots will soon explode! New York City is right now a powder keg-ready to blow!...federal and State Welfare cutbacks will be the spark that ignites the fuse. Next year, New York City could have over 100,000 angry men on the streets, enraged because they have been cut off from benefits....Federal troops will have to move in to restore order. New York City will have tanks running down its avenues....Churches will be closed for a season because it will be too dangerous to travel about. Fires will rage everywhere."
Although Wilkerson set the expiration date of this prophecy himself - " Next year" (i.e. 1993), he now says that this is yet future. This is a common expedient for those who assume themselves to be prophets, moving the goal-posts, hoping that others will forget by then.

3. FINANCIAL CRASH IN 2000?

On April 15 of that year, Wilkerson prophesied this:

"For the last two years I have been crying aloud, warning all who would hear that America is receiving her last call and that judgment is at the door. I did not say this was the end of the nation, but the last call before a financial crash."
"I am writing this letter to you on Saturday, April 15, 2000. I have on my desk the headlines in yesterday's paper: "BLACK FRIDAY - BIGGEST ONE-DAY DROP IN HISTORY." The Dow fell 618 points - the Nasdaq fell 355. I do not know what is coming in the next sixty days. If the market bounces back, I can assure you it will be temporary. THE CRASH IS INEVITABLE - NOTHING CAN STOP IT."

To his credit, he admitted his mistake after the non-event, after the market instead of crashing, reached a record high on May 22 of that year:

"In prayer, I have told the Lord I am ready at any time to confess I am wrong - that I must have spoken from my own fears or that I have spoken unadvisedly. Recently, when the market reached record highs, I wondered if those calling me a false prophet were right."
He admits that he was motivated by fears when he gave this warning. I am not advocating that we kick a man when he is down, or that none of us are human. It is good that he admitted his mistake. But let me ask you this: When times get rougher than they are now, do you want to consult a prophet/teacher who is motivated by fears the next time he says "Thus says the Lord". I don't. We need to tear our eyes and hearts away from all authority figures and look to the Bible. If we listen to teachers and preachers, it must be the same way that the Bereans listened to Paul and Silas - with open Bibles and a determination to use them intelligently. In my mind, Wilkerson has already lost credibility by his mis-prophesying.

TEACHINGS

1. TWO PENTECOSTS

"God's last-day church ...will be even greater than that [the first-century church,] ... mightier, stronger, and even GREATER revelation of Jesus. A greater unction from the Spirit than ever, GREATER EVEN THAN PENTECOST....As I see it, the gospel of Jesus Christ has not been fully preached in this generation!"
(God's Vision for the Last Day Church 5-23-94)
There are plenty of verses that tell us that this just isn't so. In the last of the last days we will face ever greater apostasy and confusion. To expect a mighty revival is to set yourself up for major deception.

C
ccchhhrrriiisss

RevBenjamin...

If you want to "expose" our brother, why not include credible, firsthand citations? A proper citation isn't just a listing of what he supposedly said, when and where. If you are going to do this, then please be open enough to present such things from firsthand sources rather than from a website or work that hopes to diminish the views of the brethren regarding this man. Allow us the opportunity to test and verify your statements.

Did you find these things on your own, or did you find them listed in a website or in a newsletter? Did you check the validity of the citations and sources? Have you spoken with (or attempted to speak with) Brother Wilkerson (by phone, mail, email or in person) about these things BEFORE you decided to present them?

Such public accusations can be a troublesome thing if they are meant to influence -- especially if we haven't truly researched such things in depth or if we don't know the man.

:-(

Hi Rev...

"God's last-day church ...will be even greater than that [the first-century church,] ... mightier, stronger, and even GREATER revelation of Jesus. A greater unction from the Spirit than ever, GREATER EVEN THAN PENTECOST....As I see it, the gospel of Jesus Christ has not been fully preached in this generation!" There are plenty of verses that tell us that this just isn't so. In the last of the last days we will face ever greater apostasy and confusion. To expect a mighty revival is to set yourself up for major deception.

Really? Plenty of Scriptures say that there isn't going to be a mighty revival? Then why on Earth are we having a Revival Conference? Why are we constantly praying for a mighty revival in our land -- if your claim that it isn't going to happen is true?

Brother, I wonder if people would have ignored the Welsh Revival, the Great Awakening, the Second Great Awakening, etc... -- if they had listened to you? Those revivals turned the land right-side up! The Great Awakening influenced (and was even written about by) the founders of this nation! Benjamin Franklin, in his autobiography, wrote about George Whitefield saying that you could tell that the revival had spread through a town because the bars were closed and you could hear the singing of hymns.

Regardless of whether or not there will be a great move of God before the Lord's return -- I will still pray for it! I am hoping that the Lord would ignite a passion in His people and the sinners in this land! I pray that multitudes will return to Christ before He returns to this world!

I will pray for revival. I see nothing in Scripture that makes me believe that the Lord refuses to revive His Church or the people and lands for which we pray.

Just something further to think about.

This was not posted here to lift up anyone and in responding to defend anyone. When I read this article the word excitement never came to mind...nor did it come across to me as prophecy..but a dread that when I read the scriptures a knowing of what is yet to come to this nation as God uses judgment for redemptive purposes ...I still will pray HIS Grace and Mercy upon all of us!

I live in Califonia, I have seen the steady decline of the church and state. Still praying that men everywhere will not harden their hearts in the day of trouble but repent and turn.

Pray for us here, I know that we are living in His longsuffering, but the cup runneth over and we must be judged FOR HIS NAME SAKE.

Please Pray !!!!

Hi sister coffee...

I share your burden. I recently moved to California and I see such a decline in the Church and State. Having moved from Texas, I was immediately struck by the lack of influence of the Church (and righteousness in general) upon the people or the State in California.

California is ripe for a move of God. Why? It is dark. The light of a real revival can shine much clearer and further!

Thank you for your kind words...In reading the posts I see that you and your wife have moved into the SF area. I pray Wisdom and Grace upon you both.

I have a very earnest question here and maybe someone can help me with it ....

Isaiah gave the prophecy of the coming of Jesus, but died and all those around him died too, before it came to pass ...and then it was what 700 years or so... not sure of the timing that it did finally came to pass....did that make Isaiah a false prophet in his day?

I'm serious about this..others prophets like Jeremiah, Daniel, prophecied and then died also..

Then on a different note we have the faithful in Hebrews having given a promise died never seeing the promise come to pass in their lifetime...wonder what was said and mocked of all of them...

Just a thought...

K
KathleenP

Very likely Coffee, concerning your last question on the prophets.

I'm sure even Noah himself was mocked greatly as he warned and warned and yet no catastrophic flood. Hence, I'm sure many considered him false and stopped taking him seriously.

I personally believe Brother Wilkerson to be a reputable and sincere man of God. He has not carried people off into false doctrines and as the previous poster stated, he admitted to being influenced by fear. We see men of this manner stumble before us, but we get to do it privately and save face. I have learned not to place a time frame of my own to the things that the Lord has shown me and realise most importantly, He is not in a hurry. He really does want the world to repent and acknowledge Him as Lord.

I'm hoping for a last day remnant that will walk in excellence and power. I don't believe the Lord is done yet. Oh dear saints, what do you think those fiery trials are preparing us for?

May I say meekly, Praise God? :-)

Rev. Benjamin: "Shall we examine David Wilkerson's False prophecies before we get too excited here."

All that I can say is that you do not know David Wilkerson at all. I read the same book that you read during the 70'S and many of Brother Wilkersons prophetic words have come to past, and others are coming to past in the hour in which we live.

I praise God for Brother Wilkerson's life and ministry to the Body of Christ.

Is the last day church in fact going to be greater than any other time? Not according to Revelation concerning the last church and rebuke to the Church of Laodicea. I also believe this too is in keeping with what Paul teaches about the great falling away of Apostasy. That warning is in 2 Timothy 3....Perilous times are coming. Please review 2 Thessalonians as well.

I'm sorry many of you are offended. However to grab a verse out of the OT and apply it to the NT Christian is no different then applying 2 Chronicles 7:14 to the Church. It just doesn fit.

Did Isaiah say it would happen in his day? If he did, then yes. However, he was just reiterating what was promised in Genesis 3:15.

Then on a different note we have the faithful in Hebrews having given a promise died never seeing the promise come to pass in their lifetime...wonder what was said and mocked of all of them...

These men, as all OT Saints who placed their faith in the redeemer, as did Abel, the first listed in Hebrews 11, acknowledged by their sacrifice and life of faith in the redeemer, did not die without receiving salvation. They died not receiving the indwelling Holy Spirit. They had to wait for US to receive perfection. ( Please read those scriptures carefully).

Ezekiel 36:22 Therefore say unto the house of Israel, thus saith the Lord GOD; I do not this for your sakes, O house of Israel, but for mine holy name's sake, which ye have profaned among the heathen, whither ye went.

23And I will sanctify my great name, which was profaned among the heathen, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, saith the Lord GOD, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes.

24 For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land.

25Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.

26A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.

27And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.

28And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and ye shall be my people, and I will be your God.

29I will also save you from all your uncleannesses: and I will call for the corn, and will increase it, and lay no famine upon you.

30And I will multiply the fruit of the tree, and the increase of the field, that ye shall receive no more reproach of famine among the heathen.

31Then shall ye remember your own evil ways, and your doings that were not good, and shall lothe yourselves in your own sight for your iniquities and for your abominations.

32Not for your sakes do I this, saith the Lord GOD, be it known unto you: be ashamed and confounded for your own ways, O house of Israel.

33Thus saith the Lord GOD; In the day that I shall have cleansed you from all your iniquities I will also cause you to dwell in the cities, and the wastes shall be builded.

34And the desolate land shall be tilled, whereas it lay desolate in the sight of all that passed by.

35And they shall say, This land that was desolate is become like the garden of Eden; and the waste and desolate and ruined cities are become fenced, and are inhabited.

36Then the heathen that are left round about you shall know that I the LORD build the ruined places, and plant that that was desolate: I the LORD have spoken it, and I will do it.

37Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will yet for this be enquired of by the house of Israel, to do it for them; I will increase them with men like a flock.

38As the holy flock, as the flock of Jerusalem in her solemn feasts; so shall the waste cities be filled with flocks of men: and they shall know that I am the LORD.

This is yet to be fulfilled, the New Covenant promise to Israel..

When will this happen?
Romans 11:
25For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.

26And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:

27For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.

28As concerning the gospel, they((ISRAEL)) are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the father's sakes.

You see, God never promised the CHURCH land.

God never called the Church Jacob.

Blessings,

R.G. Benjamin

Dear KathleenP,

In this journey I might not have all the knowledge that a lot of people have, but one thing I have learned is that we are HUMAN ...go figure.

I will agree with you on your comments regarding Bro Wilkerson. In this dry wilderness called California ...I have found Times Square Church ...Pastor Carter Conlon to be an Oasis.

I will not go so far to lift any of these men up or defend them they don't need me. They have a Faithful God ...He will defend His own.

There are many men of God on this site, sermons, treasures that I have found, and I thank God everyday for SI. I don't post much ..no need.

But when I see what is happening around me and feel that God is about to defend His Holy Name sometimes I just have to say something!!!

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

I need to post once again, on a roll here ...

My only sister in Alabama just emailed me in response to this article of Bro. Wilkerson that I forwarded to her. She is going to be in New York City for the first 2 weeks in November with her nursing job and wanted the address for Times Square Church !!!!

I am so thrilled about this, because my sister gave up on "church, pastors, family" when she walked in on her husband and the pastor's daughter in her bed. She had a 3 year old and a newborn ...when she went to church the following Sunday after confronting this matter with the Pastor, his daughter, and her husband the message was "If you could satisfy your spouse there would be no reason for them to stray" Needless to say she left the church. Her husband moved in with the pastor's daughter.....enough of that...

My mom and I have fed my sister tid bits here and there over the last 20 years, loving her and her children unconditionally knowing that she loved God but the wound had gone so deep she refused to trust ever again, therefore she never remarried nor went to church again.

God IS doing a Glorious work...I am going to ask all of you to please be in prayer as she said she is going to visit while there.

I am not offended by your words; Rather, I simply disagree with your opinion.

There is a world of difference between a dispute over doctrine or doctrinal views -- and labeling a man a giver or false prophecies.

Again, I would ask for you to cite your sources. Can you give me a specific link or citation to validate your allegations or so that we can test them? Have you spoken with Brother Wilkerson and asked him if he could clarify what you think he said?

Do you see why this would be important if you are going to lay such a drastic public allegation at the man?

Brother, Paul the Apostle also rebuked Peter for teaching something false. Does that negate the ministry or faith of Peter? This is similar -- yet you have not (at least, from what I understand) spoken with Brother Wilkerson about this. I am extremely interested in your citations and possible attempt to speak with Brother Wilkerson in order to ascertain clarity.

For your attention Mr Benjamin

Gal 3 26-28 You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.

There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

How does that song go

Many Sons has Father Abraham.
You and I are one of them.
So let's go Praise the Lord.

Coffee,

My son and his wife were able to go to Times Square Church twice in the past year. They were of course very blessed.

Sadly, Brother Wilkerson is not always preaching but he has such a blessed brother in Carter Conlon. He is certainly David the aged now and I am not anxious for the Lord to take him.

I do pray your sister will receive encouragement and strength. I was greatly wounded by a professed man of God and subsequently backslid for 15 years. I returned to the Lord quietly and did not set foot in a church for 2 years from fear of being hurt again. The Lord kept me and when I was once again wounded, this time by words, I was strong enough to realize I could not let it cause me to fall.

My son and his wife have the openhisword.com website. They have a very large selection of Times Square cds and dvds they would send her for free. She might just be content to be nursed back to health in a more protected way. I'm so happy for you that she is coming around.

God Bless Sister

Dear KathleenP,

As I was catching up on the posts I saw that you had responded regarding Bro. Wilkerson and his age...it was like he had read it too,(smiling) for his Blog site today talked about his age and his trust in God in his health and family. Very Good.

I was very saddened to see by your post that you, another little one had been wounded by someone in authority not once, but twice.

It's so true that God is Faithful and able to keep that which has been committed unto Him. As with you having God hold you and keep you, my sister and others that have been wounded, they have been committed to a FATHER that is FAITHFUL and is waiting for His children to come back to him, and in Him will come the healing.

Thank you for the reference to the website,in visiting it was so pleased to see the Gospel being freely given to those that are hungry...Wonderful!!!. I pray that God blesses you and your family in this Ministry.

I download and make copies from SI or TSC and send them to my mom, she passes them on...sometimes to my sister and sometimes to others that visit her as she feels led.

Again thank you so much for the offer.

To the title of the post - Amen! Let it be according to God's perfect will.

I am one who has been stupid enough to lower my sight from the cross long enough to be struck hard by the old man, and thrown about with the ways that are not honouring to God. Yet I have learned more of God's grace, faithfulness and nature this past year than in any other.

And I was a trained minister.

And I preached to men and women.

By woe to me for how often did I preach the Gospel, the beautiful Gospel of Christ, given by a glorious God who does not need to save us but does, who owes us nothing yet sacrificed His only Son for us? Even the thought has me in tears.

My brothers and sisters in Christ, I have seen the church tainted by those who profess a false Gospel, one of considers that God's saving grace goes out to others ignoring His Son - the only means of our salvation - one that discusses new methods as the best way forward, of 'deconstruction' of Scripture, of using human reason to interpret Scripture rather than teaching to cling with all we have to the Spirit at work in us, bringing us to salvation.

I have been brought low, to the point of death. But has neither forsaken nor forgotten me, but disciplined me as one He loves, and loves still.

Brothers and Sissters, let me encourage you. With God for us, there is none who can stand against us. Nothing on earth, nor any power can harm what God is doing in and through each of us. In these dark days, look not to the dark but to the Author of Light, for in Him there is a PERFECT peace and the fulness of what you long for.

Not even any suffering we may have to endure for His Name's sake can seperate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Risen Lord and Saviour.

God IS about to do... what He always has been. Let us be the ones who hear His voice and respond, not as 'awesome people of destiny' or 'post-modernist whatevers' or anything like that, but as people who know their God and commit our lives to Him on the altar of living sacrifice, shunning the favour of people and seeking to please God, to honour His Holy Name, taking our cross each day with joy - the same joy Christ had at the cross, the joy of being in the Father's will - and devoting ourselves to each other in prayer, fellowship and service, and to the world in love.

God lives and loves!

Our message of hope is better than economic prosperity, better than the promises of any political figure, any world hero, any respected person. Our hope endures because God does. Please do not give up your hope, never ever. I almost did and it almost killed me. The ONLY One 100% trustworthy is God. Not a free-market economy or freedom of choice or liberty, but God.

May God fix each of you in faith, and continue His work with each of you until the end.

Just a few quick comments, if I may.

Menderofnets, welcome to SI! When I read you post I was immediately reminded of the book I am currently reading,

The Reformed Pastor by Richard Baxter

Reformed means a changed Christian life, as opposed to calvinism :-P

A book every Christian ought to read, escpecially those in the ministry or who have been in the ministry.

You see, God never promised the CHURCH land.

The promise of "land" ... well, let us consider. What was that land called? The Promised Land -- that is, the Land of Promise!

This is a prophecy concerning the Kingdom of Christ, that is the day we live in today. The land God is talking about here is the forgiveness of sins through the atonement of Jesus Christ and the indwelling Spirit of God.

Not a physical land, this prophecy is already coming to pass for the Kingdom is being advanced in the hearts of men.

Now, shall there also be a physical manifestation of the prophecy concerning Israel, according to the flesh -- most likely, yes.

On that note, Ezekiel 36 is a chapter I directly relate to John 17.

Ezekiel 36:22-23
"22 Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; I do not this for your sakes, O house of Israel, but for mine holy name's sake, which ye have profaned among the heathen, whither ye went. 23 And I will sanctify my great name, which was profaned among the heathen, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, saith the Lord GOD, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes."

John 17
17. "Sanctify them in the truth; Your word is truth.
18. "As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world.
19. "For their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they themselves also may be sanctified in truth.
20. "I do not ask on behalf of these alone, but for those also who believe in Me through their word;
21. that they may all be one; even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me.

22. And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:
23. I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.
24. Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.

So, I don't consider this necessarily "something new" God is about to do, but something He has been doing since the day of Pentecost, 2,000 years ago, until the fullness of times -- when our Savior shall come with true salvation.
