Post Election Statement by AG General Superintendant
I think he handled the subject very well.
This is wise counsel. I hope I'm wise enough to follow it. Thanks.
Listening to it also helped me get a healthy Biblical perspective in the situation. I think the church should listen to it.
Very well put! Let us all heed this wise advice.

Thanks for the link. Very timely!
:-)
Very good. Thanks for the link.
Here is a point I think is important:
"5. We are to show respect for those who hold office – whether executive, judicial, or
legislative; whether national, state, or local; whether Republican, Democrat, Independent, or other parties. The New Testament explicitly tells us to do that. Hear the Apostle Paul: Give everyone what you owe him . . . if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor (Romans 13:7). Hear the Apostle Peter say the same thing: Show proper respect to everyone: Love the brotherhood of believers, fear God, honor the king (1 Peter 2:17).
Obviously, in America we do not have a king. But, we have a president and we have a
governmental system that has three branches nationally – and these three branches also form state and local governments. We are to honor those who hold positions of authority.
As Christians, we must set the example for being respectful to those in office – whether
executive, judicial, or legislative.
The recent campaign at all levels and all parties was often filled with bitter rancor, distortions, smears and lies. That must not be a part of Christian’s behavior. We must not lose our principles when fighting for principle.
As believers, we can help set a better tone for the national discussion. We can hold to our
views without being unkind, without rancorous voices, without becoming filled with anger or hatred toward those with opposing views."
As I check out the news online, I filled with disgust at the disrespect showered on Pres. Bush and others. It is so disgusting I wonder some people would not lose their jobs for fermenting such rancor and hate. Yes, the saints have a higher calling then dragging people into the mud and slime.

thanks for bringing this to us! This is an outstanding message in which I agree whole heartily. Everyone needs to hear this.
We as christians must not lose our focus and why we are here. We are to be salt and light to this world. Our speech must be always with grace seasoned with salt. We are to answer every man with the true message of the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.
God has really been showing me here lately about how we are to have a winning attitude. We are not defeated but we are more than victorious through our Lord Jesus Christ and his great Love for us.
"We are not defeated but we are more than victorious through our Lord Jesus Christ and his great Love for us."
Amen. Was reminded of this from a thread a while back,
"I believed also that nobody is more a Christian. I had read in the Bible that there will be in the last time the great apostasy, that people will leave the faith and I believed that I lived now this time. But I said to myself if Christianity is dead, I will sit at its tomb and will weep until it arises again, just as Mary Magdalene sat at the tomb of Jesus and wept until Jesus showed Himself. Then when I came out of prison I saw Christianity is not dead. The number of practicing Christians in Rumania according to the figures given by the Communists themselves in 20 years of Communist dictatorship has grown 300 percent."
I loved this statement. Amen to this brother in Christ. Simple, Biblical, sound, and with much love. May we all hear it. This post on my site is one of my most read posts

May The Lord bless American Christians with a deep and abiding love for the lost......brother Frank
Very timely, and a stark affirmation and confirmation of what I was sent here to declare to and with my brothers and sisters in the Lord Christ.
Brother I read your blog,
I feel a very unified spirit at work in your heart, this is the first time, I have ever been to your website, and it was a sheer joy...
I second your request that we as Christians begin and continue for others to blatantly reject the words and evil divisiveness of Limbaugh, Hannity and Coulter, not only them, but also Bill Maher and Hitchins also.
You probably would be taken by the people that actually lie both of these guys garbage.
With Love dear Frank,
Hi brother...I appreciate your kind words. I find Bill Maher a gross and baser character, one with total annimosity towards the Christian community. I find Hitchens less so simply because he is an atheist. I could have a decent converstaion with an athiest much more so that a hypocrite. To me, Hitchens is a sad , souless man who only has his intellect to fall back on. It is funny(not ha ha) though, I believe that if we are alive when the tribulation begins, yes, both sides that these groups represent will come after the genuine believer......brother Frank
Praise the Lord
I'm glad that someone mentioned this. I've felt for some while that these "conservatives" were just another confusing voice of divisiveness although they claim to have the proper perspective. Coulter claims to be Christian but if she is an example of a godly motuhpiece then count me out. Sorry, had to say it. To many it's like they have the word of the Lord or something. Nope.
"Doc"
Hi Doc
I have had many people agree with the sentiment you just expressed. One of my most hit upon articles. I personally thought it was a no brainer. Hatred and bitterness and divisiveness,no matter who or where it comes from, is clearly wrong. These people are some of the reasons that the Democrats won so easily. People were just exhausted by partisan bitterness. You can check out the article under

Noooo! C'mon... whats divisive about titling your book "If Democrats Had Any Brains, They'd Be Conservatives"??
...or "How To Talk Like A Liberal (If You Must)"??
While I probably agree with what she has to say, there is a tremendous amount of divisiveness that comes from her mouth. I won't judge whether she is a Christian or not... if she says she is, and she's repented before the Lord, who am I to say? But her snarkiness on TV and the titles of her books are meant to make people mad.
Sean Hannity is very divisive, but he is not a true believer anyway... he is Roman Catholic.
Rush Limbaugh is a "social Christian", but not born again by his own admission.
I used to like Glenn Beck a lot, still do listen to him some... but he is all doom & gloom, and given to conspiracy theories at times. The sky is always falling on the Glenn Beck Show! He is not a Christian, he is a Mormon.
So from the "big 3" (Rush, Sean & Glenn) we cant expect much more than divisiveness. If they were not divisive they would go down in the ratings. But if someone is going to claim the name of Christ seriously, then I think they can contend for the truth but do so without being snarky and bombastic... all things with which I struggle with myself.

The superintendent of the assembly of god was applying scripture incorrectly. By using Romans 13 to secular government he is using it out a of context, Romans 13 applies to the governance of the church, not the government of a country(USA). I would encourage you to look at the verses in Romans that he used, it's very enlightening.
HI brother Billpro. Romans 13 is almost undoubtedly addressing the secular authorities The very first verse gives it its context. This "higher powers," is talking about magistrates. Romans 13 teaches how the Christian is to relate to the secular authorities. You are the firt person I have ever heard that would say that Romans 13 applies to the governence of the Church. Perhaps I travel in fairly narrow circles though, perhaps you can explain why you belive that Romans 13 is speaking to Church government...........brother Frank
I cannot tell or make you do or adhere to anything that I say, but I personally feel as though those three people in particular are very toxic to a persons ear, and all the more toxic to a sincere Chritian believer.
Also, no disrespect to you Mr Krispy or anyone, but to even allow christian to follow after the name an behavior of Rush Limbaugh or anyone on that particular list is a "flat-out" Joke, and a serious demise upon the term Christian.
I have diviorced Rush Limbaugh 7 years ago. He and the othrs can't help themselves, they are filled with hate, contempt, and they falsify religion and they are anti-God(Overly divisive hypocrites)....
I do not think I would be happy to say i listen to these individuals, I think they are equally disgusting. I cannot say that I have ever prayed for them, not out of spite, but that is how they have turned my stomach.
I can tell you this much, I will offer them supplicating prayer from here on out, so I do thank you from that apect for the post.
In Christ,

Krispy,
I really didn't mean to imply Coulter wasn't a Christian. She has said she is many times. I just listen to her now and again and sometimes I am thinking if she is Christian I wish she would inform her attitude. It's kind of like "Try and Talk to Ann Coulter's Mouth If You Must!" It's like you said that you agree with what she is saying sometimes but it's the way she is saying it.
I don't know about Hannity's religion except that he says he is Christian. I believe true believers in Christ are in the Catholic Church it's just what they get saddled with that I see as the problem there. I'm not trying to get into a debate over that. It's just I know some real believers there although not agreeing with some of or a lot of how they are taught. It's a little ironic that Hannity's liberal co-host sometimes in the past when I watched had a better attitude than he does.
Anyway, I think we're together and I appreciate your thoughts.
apollus, I read your link and I have many of the same feelings. You said you had been here since 1990 in this country and the last 12 or 14 years of partisan political fighting had turned you off. The same here but it goes back further than 1990. When President Reagan was elected in 1980 the partisan tone took on a new level because a man of his beliefs had been elected. The political left constantly belittled and mocked him and conservatives and that is the date I attribute to when the real partisan ugliness began. Both sides have been going at it tooth and nail since then and the public is worn out by it and Obama presented something different.
The greatest fear I may have about American conservatism at this point is that it seems to believe that Satan has left the building. The world struggle is presented as a struggle between political ideologies instead of the intense unseen spiritual struggle that is occuring. At this point, I have no energy or motivation I feel like devoting to a conservative resurgence. These dethroned conservatives had control of both houses of Congress and ended up doing a pretty poor job of things. It's the gospel for me. If the gospel makes a "conservative" out of someone then so be it. At least I won't be tryng to make a conservative out of them by preaching conservatism to them. As I'm writing I'm realizing I may be venting a little so I hope you bear with me.
I liked your blog and you seem to have a swell attitude and thank you for your appreciation of this country in spite of its divisive pundits.
Blessing to you and all.
"Doc"
Brethren,
I have come to understand that the word Christian is a "throw around", cheap, very cheap, consumate term for the one who wants or seeks the approval of their agenda.
I can recall that Christians were first called Christians at Antioch because they were sooooo much like Christ, so much like Christ.........
This is not a term for us to term ourselves, but to be termedby us, wow, what a revelation this is for me, We continue to label ourselves and label others.
Now we label God-haters, men haters, sickened men and women that blast other human beings over their secular beliefs. They cause hurt, they confer racial, socio-economic, and class spearation and hatred.
I am determined that at least in my circle or the circle of believers around me that a Christian is to be lived out, now boasted about and carried on our shoulders as some iconic inference or some type of Superhero.
We are to be classified as nothing but a bunch of lowly, aggravating, revolutionaries, who turn issues and the world upside down ONLY for the cause and love of Christ.
I want nothing to do with the term unless someone can "violently" and sincerely give glory to God for what they see of and in my life, and this is not a righteous plea, this is a self examination for how we go about with our words and terminology.....
The blessings of God be upon Us I pray
Amen GodsFire
C.S.Lewis in Mere Christianity bemoaned the emptying of the meaning of what it meant to be a Christian. Centuries ago in Britain, the name Gentleman denoted that you were a landowner. As time and decades progressed, evryone started to call themselves Gentlemen, whether they owned land or not. The temr itself eventually was rendered meaningless. Lewis argued 60 years ago that this was what was happening to the term "Christian." So many people applying it to themselves whether they had experienced the new birth or not, has rendered it without meaning to most people. Behaviour is definately an indication of the heart. It is not always definite, but the word tells us that you "will know them by their love for one another." And agin that you can "give your body to be burned, but have not love, then I profit nothing." You will know genuine Christians by their love, not only for their brothers and sisters in Christ but also for their enemies. If God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, then we will recognize that love in people who know Him........brother Frank
