I live at my parents with my wife and she quit her job 2 weeks ago and walmart just let me go because i was a temp. My mom is really going to freak out on me and she has all year long, because now she is the only one working because my dad is retired and not looking enough for a job. I mean everything was going so good and then this happens, the demons in my life at times were fading big time and now look at this. I have a spine injury to put things a top of one another. I guess i don't have Gods blessing on me at all anymore, i feel as i have been cursed.
i just lost my job
When the enemy comes in like a flood, God will raise up a standard. I will pray for you as I have joined in prayer with several families lately to pray against satan's stealing and destroying and for evidence of God's restoration. It is satan's desire to destroy. He is good to make us feel it is our lot in life - that we are stuck. But that is a lie. You can join our group and pray for these two things:
1) evidence that satan's stealing and distruction has been stopped
2) evidence that God's restoration has begun
John 10:10 (from memory) Satan came to steal, kill and destroy. But I have come that you might have life and that you might have it more abundantly.
This is not a foundation for wealth, but of at least the simple necessities of life that I believe God desires to give to those who trust in Him.
I [b]will
bible1985,
Why did your wife quit her job?
Being a temporary employee at retail store, did you think it last a long time?
I wouldn't blame it on the "demons." And I wouldn't say you don't have God's blessings.
As a child of God you are blessed. Over 60 times in the NT you are called "beloved" by God. You cannot be both "beloved" and "cursed."
[i][b]2 Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.
[i][b]4 You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.
So when you pray, pray like child going before his Father, who know his Heavenly Father loves him, and desires to take of ALL His children.
Praying for you.
... and now look at this.
Brother, [i]this[i]that
I guess i don't have Gods blessing on me at all anymore, i feel as i have been cursed.
Remember ...
[i]That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: -
Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.
Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:
1Pe 1:7 - 2Pe 1:4-10
I commiserate with you, we just recently let go of 25% of our workforce and some very good people due to the state of circumstances we are all in. You are not alone brother and that might sound 'easy for you to say' and is to an extent - Nevertheless casting this on to what you know not will leave you just where? In despondency and navel gazing, 'guessing' as you put it. Take Philologo's approach; [i]What is the [u]next
There is the other side of this brother, be encouraged, you will come through it. My prayers towards that end.

[i]Dear hearts—The choicest saints are 'born to troubles as the sparks fly upwards', Job 5:7. 'Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivers him out of them all.' Psalm 34:19. If they were many, and not troubles, then, as it is in the proverb, the more the merrier; or if they were troubles and not many, then the fewer the better. But God, who is infinite in wisdom and matchless in goodness, has ordered troubles, yes, many troubles to come trooping in upon us on every side. As our mercies—so our crosses seldom come single; they usually come treading one upon the heels of another; they are like April showers, no sooner is one over but another comes. And yet, Christians, it is mercy, it is rich mercy, that every affliction is not an execution, that every correction is not a damnation. The higher the waters rise, the nearer Noah's ark was lifted up to heaven; the more your afflictions are increased, the more your heart shall be raised heavenward.
You must listen to The Grace of God by.Austin T.Sparks.This is a word for you.It is all grace.
I guess i don't have Gods blessing on me at all anymore, i feel as i have been cursed.
Hi Bible1985,
Brother, you knew the job was a temporary position, so it seems perfectly rational that they would let you go eventually. That is no reason to believe there is a curse upon you. Things are hard, but it's not because God is angry with you.
The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.
It is understandable that many disappointments, failures, and pain would give us despair, but he is not condemning us or abandoning us in these things. Jesus is not our accuser, but our peace.
He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters,
Don't despair. Take one step at a time. Plan your course the best you can but know you can only take one step at a time.
... he restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Please don't be overwhelmed with what you can't control. It's tempting to worry about everything you can think of. Instead just address one problem at a time. In this simple way we get traction to move forward on the steep uphill rocky roads.
And after you've given your best effort for God, and you family, get plenty of rest! The Lord does not expect us to be wise enough, rich enough, or strong enough to fix every problem we can think of, but I do think he expects us to rest in him At least he invites us to do so. :-)
Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him. For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust. Ps 103: 13-14
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
You can continue to market yourself and find new employment right after Christmas. Your next job could very well be a better opportunity!
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
Blessings brother,
MC
I have read the gracious words of the many here who I witness as servants of God. What more can be added? Know that you are not alone Psa 37:25 I have been young and now I am old,
yet I have not seen the righteous abandoned
or his children begging bread.
I am most blessed by the response of all who have written here, May the God of peace and comfort direct your hearts into Christ Jesus always.
yah the problem is that they told me they were going to put me on maintanenance part time lasst week and today with no clue just let me go. I appreciate the words of wisdom and prayers. I am trying to overcome the doubt and fear right now about this situation it is very hard knowing how bad everything has been for me this year already.
Rom 8:28 And we know that [b]all
a saying we have here in the north is, it is always darkest just before the sunrise.
God is sovereign and he is on the throne. There may be more difficulties up ahead, but trust in God that it will work for good, then you can start praising Him for His goodness already.
He will work this for the better you will see
Christian
I notice you're online. Hope I get this posted before you leave.
I am very sorry about your situation and I am praying as I said I would. There has been a lot of good words here. We all have our own perspective.
As you just said, it is a struggle to not doubt. Belive me I have been there. It is satan's goal in any hardship we face to destroy and steal our faith and trust. He is the father of lies. But God will speak too. As difficult and hopeless as our situations look, they have not backed God into a corner.
I am praying that He will lift you above satan's threats, that He would give you His peace and that He would provide what you need. He is very able.
Keep us posted.
Mike
We're here to encourage you, because some of us have been through the same thing. I just quit a 16 year career, partially because of the current economy, and also because I believe God is now calling me to totally change the direction of my life. I'm now seeking some new direction for the new year. It's been a challenge being out of work for weeks now, but I'm reminded that God, and not man, is my provider, and if I seek first His kingdom, He will supply all my need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
Ephesians says that God raised Christ from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly place, far above the spiritual rulers of the darkness of this world, and has put all these things in subjection under His feet. And God has raised us up with Him, and made us to sit with Him in the heavenly place, in Christ Jesus.
So, spiritually speaking, you are exalted with Christ, and the devil is under your feet, which means that you are blessed indeed!
Isaiah 54:17 says that no weapon formed against us can prosper, so rejoice!
If we keep our confidence in God, we will never be disappointed, no matter how trying our current situation seems to be, we know that we will get through it.
If you have some sort of education after high school, Korea and many other countries are desperately seeking English teachers.
If I offended you in any way, please forgive me. I have learned through trials and tribulations to keep my trust in God….it (s) when we take our eyes of God and place them on man, that we not only let God down, because he is looking at our faith, but we let ourselves down, and we must learn to pick ourselves up as someone once taught me, he’s already provided. Our faith must take us to that place of expectation without complacency for complacency will only delay, but if you believe as you should, it won’t be long till God in his marvelous wisdom and miraculous ways will allow you to see your blessing.
brother you our fine i was not offended, thank you for all your prayers, i have a confidence in finding a job right now that i didn't have before.

First of all, I can't even find a previous post in this thread by ANewInHim, much less one that required an apology. Am I overlooking something.
Secondly, what you have experienced is exactly the difference God is able to make. Satan will tell you you are doomed. He will tell you God is out to punish you. But if we take time to listen to God, He is able to lift us above the lies. If you can learn that secret in your walk with God, it will be of incredible benefit to you.
I am glad for the help He has given you. I will keep praying that you will see even more evidence of His help. Thanks for sharing the positive. It is encouraging to those of us who are praying.
Mike
Yah i undserstand so much what the word of God says but those feelings can be overwhelming to the point where you woant to believe them at times, i can't let that happen. Thanks brother

Satan has been at it a long time. He is very good. He will usually use the truth to support his lie. What he puts before us is incredibly logical and believable. To make it even more so, he has a way of making you think it is from God.
As a general rule, satan condemns while God convicts. If your thoughts are beating you into the dirt, that is not God. I have learned, through some intense testing over the past two years, the difference between God's and satan's voice. When I sense I am hearing satan's, I will turn to God giving Him the oportunity to speak His truth.
When I say He is able to lift us above satans attempts to destroy us, I say that, not only from a scriptural perspective, but as much a personal one. For where 1 Peter 5:8 says 'Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour', and 9 says 'Resist him, standing firm in the faith', I have personally experienced these attempts to destroy in enourgh of a connected sequence to learn how to be alert to them and a little self control as a result of them. But more importantly, I learned how to resist him and how to stand firm in the faith.
You don't do it so much by going toe to toe with satan, like I say, he is very good; you do it best by simply turning to God and giving Him the opportunity to speak His truth which dispells satan's lies.
When I said in my first post that I would pray against satan's attempts to destroy and for God to begin His restoration, that is where I was coming from. It is not the physical sense of distruction; it is mostly the psychological sense where through lies, satan is able to destroy our faith and trust. God is wanting to use the same situation to build our faith and trust. In too many cases, satan wins. We take the thoughts he has given us as truth and call it a done deal. It is all lies and God waits with truth for those who will press through to find it.
As I said yesterday, I appreciate the positive post and I am praying for satan to be stopped and for God to lift you and provide for you. Keep us informed.
How are things going 'bible1985'? Haven't heard from you in a while and was wondering about you. Have been praying for you from time to time. If you catch this post, let us know how you're doing.
Hi bro, Seems to me like you were fishing one day and enjoying the weather and suddenly your wishing rod was taking away due to some circumstances. Brother Thank God that fish are not taken away and its only your fishing rod was taking away. I believe it’s time to get a net forget the rod. With a Rod you may catch one fish, but with a net you can catch a whole lot. Learn a new skill; it’s never too late, something that will be easy on your spine. The Lord gives the Lord takes away [u]blessed be the name of the Lord.

Our pastor makes a clear difference between the facts and the truth. The first time I heard him mention it, I thought, WOW! The facts are job loss, unfair circumstances, spinal injury, etc. which seem overwhelming. The truth is among everything else posted (good stuff) that God is for you more than the world is against you (including the facts). You can manipulate charts graphs and "facts" to say what you want, but the truth will always be truth, because Jesus is Truth. Also, I have noticed it seems as though God is exercising me to recognize His hand and voice in my life through trials. I have had things happen that I would have used to come undone over that He is pretty quick to show me His sovereignty over, in that the bad was for my good. He is training me to praise Him in the storm. Bless His name forever!!!!! Love Barry

I really like that. Satan will use facts to supports his lie. What we need to know and what God is so able to let us know, is the truth. Cool thought.

You may not have seen this and if not it is understandable. There is almost too many posts that pass through here to keep track of.
It seems an appropriate place to make a general point that is not directed at you; I hope you do not take it as such. It is a general thought that has been sturring about praying.
I am currently praying for about 4 things. I tend to pray more about a few things til I see results. First I have to feel stirred to pray for something before I can have faith when I pray.
Here is the thought; the initial stirring comes from God. It gets me going. Sometimes subsequent stirrings come from Him. But there is also a stirring that comes from seeing results.
I thought of this in relation to building. I am a builder. When I begin a building, I am continually stirred to keep going because I can see physical evidence of my efforts. Once I start I don't have to wonder if I am supposed to keep at it.
It is a little different with prayer. When we begin, after being stirred to do so, something has to continually stir us to be able to keep going. Either God will continually stir us or evidence will stir us. To not have either would be like spending 8 months on a building and not seeing any evidence until the last day.
We have to have continual stirrings. I prayed for your situation with a fair amount of intensity to begin with. I was stirred to do so. Not having any more stirrings from God, my continual praying is at the mercy of evidence that my praying is having an effect.
I beilieve we settle far too much for not seeing results to our praying. I believe these two thoughts are practicle approaches to praying with results.
I think it would be good, when any solicit the prayers of others, that we, with the same effort, try to keep those who may be praying, informed as to the status of their sitution. It is one of the major links toward our stirring and ultimately our level of faith.
Good news well i got unemployment a few weeks after i lost my job which was a blessing and i just got a job at dish network as a service tech making 13 dollars an hour 4 days a week and from what i heard 12 plus hours a day so their is a lot of overtime. My wifes sisters boyfriend helped me get in and he makes like 600 dollars a week their but the great thing by myperformance i can get big raises, but most of all those 3 days off what a blessing to be able to spend time with my wife ans study the bible and spread the gospel. God bless you for all of your prayers, i was suprised to see this post still up here, but God bless you all, my feelings don't mean anything.
Praise God, bro!
Krispy
This is really great news. Thanks for the update.
MC
I was all set to say may my speech and I read the original poster got himself a job, well praise the LORD and good for you. I know that during these bleak days, God will look after His own like any parent would. And your right, our feelings can deceive us. There are moments that we do get down, we are after all human, but the LORD gives His word for the day, "be of good cheer, I have overcome the world". Which makes all the difference in the world.
bible4life - did you change your name from bible1985?
yes idid change my name, thank you for all your prayers and praise god.
I figured so but just wanted to make sure before I replied.
First I wanted to let you know how glad I am for you that you have work. Secondly I am glad for the sake of all who prayed and third I am glad you took the time to share the good news. In my last post, just before the one where you tell us about your work, I mention the importance of hearing back; so I really appreciate that you took the time to let us know.
In these difficult ecconomic times, when so many are losing their jobs, I see it as a definite 'God thing' that you were able to find work. All who prayed should be inspired and have stronger faith to believe for others when similar situations occur. I know it has inspired me.
As a secondary semi related point, I am still praying for joshhh and paulmcg1 from the 'Distraught and so confused!' thread. Would like to hear from you guys.
thank you m jones may the lord see your deep concern you have had for all and bless you
Your comments are appreciated. I wonder at times if I handle the concern properly.
God is good! I'm smiling from ear to ear. God bless you beloved!!

Just for the fact that you did pray and took the effort to encourage me shows the Lord is working in you, do you know how many people could care less, brother i am grateful that anyone cares, over here on this side of my life at home not to many people really really care , that has been my whole life, it is as if i was destined for God being a loner most of my life and always not having friends or a girlfriend, being the outcast, but the Lord didn't see me like that. I have been blessed by God and even during my debt problems he has introduced me to ministries that have materials free of charge and have given me material not only for myself but for others that i could give too, like paris reidhead ministries, open to his word ministries, granted ministries, free cd tracts, mount zion ministries, sermonindex mininstries, i am telling you i have been blessed, i go farther heartcry ministry and rzim.com and way of the master ministries, and glad tidings ministry, biblequery.com etc. these ministries have been here for me and all of you have been too, the lord hasn't left me.
