"
where was the revival in rome?
where was the revival in babylon?
there was none. only death and destruction, why should we be any different"
Because Jesus said so
Acts 2:17
And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
Here is revival from persecution;
26The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers were gathered together against the Lord, and against his Christ.
27For of a truth against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together,
28For to do whatsoever thy hand and thy counsel determined before to be done.
29And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word,
30By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus.
31And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.
32And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul:
Here is more revival from persecution;
They are a church founded on the blood of the martyrs. In 1876, the Kabaka, King Mwanga, had 23 of his page-boys, both Anglican and Roman Catholic, roasted over a fire because of their loyalty to another King. The faithful commemorate this event each year at the martyrs' memorial. More recently, Christians died for their faith during the rule of Idi Amin. Ugandan Christians recall that their faith has been tested by fire and sometimes wonder why Christians in the West will not make more sacrifices for the Gospel.
The Church of Uganda is also the beneficiary of the East African revival, which began in 1936 and continued into the 1980's under Bishop Festo Kivengere. Thus, Ugandan Christians are very ready to "give an account of the faith that is in them." The continuing power of the revival is carried on in the villages by catechists, who are unpaid spreaders of the Gospel.
Some say the greatest thing that ever happened to the church of Uganda was Edie Amin
Isn't SI praying for revival???
