David Wilkerson just sent this letter out to the world!!!

S
Santana

Pastor David Wilkerson, from Times Square Church in New York City, just sent this letter out to EVERY single person on his contact list. He has never done this before. Must read!

AN URGENT MESSAGE

I am compelled by the Holy Spirit to send out an urgent message to all on our mailing list, and to friends and to bishops we have met all over the world.

AN EARTH-SHATTERING CALAMITY IS ABOUT TO HAPPEN. IT IS GOING TO BE SO FRIGHTENING, WE ARE ALL GOING TO TREMBLE - EVEN THE GODLIEST AMONG US.

For ten years I have been warning about a thousand fires coming to New York City. It will engulf the whole megaplex, including areas of New Jersey and Connecticut. Major cities all across America will experience riots and blazing fires—such as we saw in Watts, Los Angeles, years ago.

There will be riots and fires in cities worldwide. There will be looting—including Times Square, New York City. What we are experiencing now is not a recession, not even a depression. We are under God’s wrath. In Psalm 11 it is written,

“If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?” (v. 3).

God is judging the raging sins of America and the nations. He is destroying the secular foundations.

The prophet Jeremiah pleaded with wicked Israel, “God is fashioning a calamity against you and devising a plan against you. Oh, turn back each of you from your evil way, and reform your ways and deeds. But they will say, It’s hopeless! For we are going to follow our own plans, and each of us will act according to the stubbornness of his evil heart” (Jeremiah 18:11-12).

In Psalm 11:6, David warns, “Upon the wicked he will rain snares (coals of fire)…fire…burning wind…will be the portion of their cup.” Why? David answered, “Because the Lord is righteous” (v. 7). This is a righteous judgment—just as in the judgments of Sodom and in Noah’s generation.

WHAT SHALL THE RIGHTEOUS DO? WHAT ABOUT GOD’S PEOPLE?

First, I give you a practical word I received for my own direction. If possible lay in store a thirty-day supply of non-perishable food, toiletries and other essentials. In major cities, grocery stores are emptied in an hour at the sign of an impending disaster.

As for our spiritual reaction, we have but two options. This is outlined in Psalm 11. We “flee like a bird to a mountain.” Or, as David says, “He fixed his eyes on the Lord on his throne in heaven—his eyes beholding, his eyelids testing the sons of men” (v. 4). “In the Lord I take refuge” (v. 1).

I will say to my soul: No need to run...no need to hide. This is God’s righteous work. I will behold our Lord on his throne, with his eye of tender, loving kindness watching over every step I take—trusting that he will deliver his people even through floods, fires, calamities, tests, trials of all kinds.

Note: I do not know when these things will come to pass, but I know it is not far off. I have unburdened my soul to you. Do with the message as you choose.

God bless and keep you,

In Christ,

DAVID WILKERSON

Could someone print a list of what we will need, other than rice and beans?
It would be greatly appreciated.
That way, I can carry the list to the Grocery Store.
You can PM me if you like.

While I am not necessarily saying that there is a connection, for some reason the Lord has had me praying for North Korea for a couple of weeks now. Here is an article by CNN that talks of some of the things that are going on with North Korea as well as a video that is contained within the article.

Good word from brother Wilkerson.

The Lord has been pounding something in my heart like this for the past few months as well. All I keep hearing in prayer is "Violent days are ahead." But don't be troubled, have faith... for the just shall LIVE by faith (Hab. 2:4). Increased savings, perishable goods, etc are a good idea. Joseph used the seven years of abundance to prepare for the seven years of famine.

However, depending on the severity of the things to come, no amount of preparation will be sufficient save for being spiritually alert and ready. Be sure to not have a false confidence in the things you can store up for yourself. Barns full of stuff can burn down overnight. Just make sure your trust is truly in the Lord. Cast your lot with Him.

I would definitely recommend either going to Times Square Church or to the Brooklyn Tabernacle, both are "word-centered" churches even though they are both very large.

Firstly, thank you Greg for sending forth this message to all in the mailing list.

The immediate thought that came to my mind was the passover and much later like in Noah warning about the flood.

I think I should warn my dear and near ones, my friends and even my collegues of this possibiity. I do not know how, and there is the thought of timidity and embaracement. But I am going to seek the Lord in this regard and ask HIM to help me out to do the things I need to do.

Dan 11:33 And those who understand among the people shall teach many; yet they shall fall by the sword, and by flame, by exile, and spoil, for days.

Eze 3:18 When I say to the wicked, You shall surely die; and you do not give him warning, nor speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked one shall die in his iniquity; but I will require his blood at your hand.
Eze 3:19 Yet if you warn the wicked, and he does not turn from his wickedness nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but you have delivered your soul.
Eze 3:20 And when the righteous turns from his righteousness and commits iniquity, and when I lay a stumbling block before him, he shall die. Because you have not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he has done shall not be remembered; but his blood I will require at your hand.
Eze 3:21 But if you warn the righteous so that the righteous does not sin, and if he does not sin, he shall surely live because he is warned; also you have delivered your soul.

Eze 33:7 And you, son of man, I have set you a watchman to the house of Israel. Therefore you shall hear the Word from My mouth, and warn them from Me.
Eze 33:8 When I say to the wicked, O wicked one, you shall surely die; if you do not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked one shall die in his iniquity; but I will require his blood at your hand.
Eze 33:9 But, if you warn the wicked of his way, to turn from it; if he does not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity, but you have delivered your soul.

BUT PRAISE BE TO GOD, HE IS OUR SALVATION. NOT MY REASON OR FEELINGS OR BY THINGS SEEN, BUT BY HIS SPIRIT, because HE HAS SAID SO.

Luk 12:5 But I will warn you of whom you shall fear: Fear Him who, after He has killed, has authority to cast into hell. Yea, I say to you, fear Him.

THEM THAT FEAR GOD NEED FEAR NOTHING ELSE.

THE LORD WILL KEEP US. LET US SURRENDER OURSLEVES TO HIS CARE AND HIS WILL.

2Ti 1:12 For this cause I also suffer these things; but I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed, and I am persuaded that He is able to guard My deposit unto that Day.

I meant more so along the lines of brother Wilkerson emphatically saying that these things WILL happen, that the Holy Spirit told him these things. If that was the case, I don't think we can pray the Lord out of allowing such things to happen.

Here is a link to a forum I visit that has lots of information on what to store and how to store it. Many other forgotten how-to instructions for those necessary crafts that have been lost over time.

Frugal Squirrel's

I stay within the How To section and the sections specifically labeled Christian, don't know everything that is on the site, but their lists are helpful for starters.

Plan for power outages and have a way to cook & lots of fuel and matches.

In the long run, my husband and I do not have the funds to stock up much and pray that we will at least have time to get the garden in and started. Green beans come up quick and produce soonest. We could live on those easily. If there is enough rain to grow. It is all in the Lord's hands. If we live through it, we live for Jesus. If we die, we go to Him. What is there to fear.

Like an Oak tree, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger. Or, the same sun that melts the wax, hardens the clay. God's will be done. My His name be glorified.

Kindest regards,
white stone

P.S. I read a similar warning the other day on a financial forum. One of the Big Talking Heads predicted impending disaster, too. Too many signs to take it lightly.

This is an excellant site, and if you have Excel, a free download shopping list, item by item, that you could ever need.

The link above leads to the Basic Minimum List.

There is also a book you can buy from the author that teaches just about everything one might need to know in a disaster.

1 Thess 5:10-28 Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with Him.

Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.

And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you;

And to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake.

And be at peace among yourselves.

[& 1 Thessalonians 4:9]

Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.

See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.

Rejoice evermore.

Pray without ceasing.

In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

Quench not the Spirit.

Despise not prophesyings.

Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

Abstain from all appearance of evil.

And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Faithful is He that calleth you, who also will do it.

Brethren, pray for us. ["Pray one for another."]

Greet all the brethren with an holy kiss.

I charge you by the Lord that 'this' epistle be read unto all the holy brethren.

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.

What if such things do not happen?

Remember Jonah

it is written
Jer 30:23 Behold, the tempest of Jehovah's wrath goes forth, a sweeping tempest; it shall whirl on the head of the wicked.

it is also written
Eze 18:23 Do I actually delight in the death of the wicked? says the Lord Jehovah. Is it not that he should turn from his ways and live?

My immediate reaction was to make provision ... for the body. But again I am led to examine myself in constant repentance and ensure that I am walking in the light and the assurance of God's love for me. Seeking the complete reign of the HOLY SPIRIT in my life.

By HIS grace...

W
White_Stone

My immediate reaction was to make provision ... for the body.

Last summer we had more food from our garden than we could eat ourselves. We gave away shopping bags full each week. I gave them to a thrift store that has a huge Spanish speaking clientele. The shop keeper was told the food was from Jesus and freely given to be freely distributed. Lord willing we will have a good harvest this season, too.

This year I hope to be able to give to our immediate neighbors and speak to them of Jesus.

I do not have money to stock a pantry full of food. Seeds are not that expensive and digging is something God allows me to do and enjoy. I do not feel this is considered simply 'making provision for the body.' It is not just our bodies we will feed.

I just plant the seeds - God gives the increase.

To White_Stone ... :-)

May God give you the wisdom and the right words while you share the good news with others.
May God prepare their heart for the seed that He wants you to plant.
And sometimes even when practically helping others, we might not get an opportunity to share the gospel, or we may be just led to silently help and move out. And even then may the sweet aroma of Christ in you, touch the lives of whom God allows you to come across.
1Co 15:58 So that, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not without fruit in the Lord.

When I meant my immediate thought, i meant MY immediate thought :-)
I have the tendecy to priortize on self preservation, while my focus ought to be continiously on the things that are of eternal worth followed by other things. i.e. to be in constant Spiritual readiness followed by 'physical' readiness.
So as I am reminded of these things, I wanted to share and encourage others too.

a bit of a 'universal' side note here : I have no right to state or pass a remark on how others perceive things but to simply state the things that God is reminding me and what He wishes to do in me. So may God give me grace to first and foremost work these in my own life.
Sometimes it may seem as if my comment is a direct hit on somebody else thoughts and I regret and appologies for that. After all I know not the intentions of the heart and who am I too sit on high and pass judgement and become the 'teacher'. And so far, statistically I have been more wrong than right. so far ... :-) but there is hope!
So my dear brothers and sisters, all that points you to Jesus and challenges you in that simplicity and devotion to Christ, hold on and the rest with love cast away.

yours because of Jesus

Survival Blog is the probably the best site as far as 'preppers" are concerned. The author James Wesley Rawles is a good God fearing follower of Jesus, but be aware that some people within the "prepper" community are not followers of Christ. The one great danger I believe, is that when you go to a sober minded site like Survival Blog, or hear a well respected pastor like David Wilkerson gives a "thus saith", its very easy to get wrapped up in fear, I don't care how holy you are, or how robust your prayer life is, how content in Jesus you are, we are all cracked jars of clay, and when the fear gets to gripping you, sometimes it will stumble you. Believe me, I've been there, and fear is hell, faith is Jesus.

Do you really think so? If this doesn't come to pass will you really believe that he wasn't speaking for the Lord?

I hope that you are being honest. It's high time that people who claim to respect and believe in the truth got honest with themselves. Benny Hinn prophesied a load of stuff that was going to happen in the 90s including the death of Fidel Castro and the destruction of homosexuals in the US by fire. None of it happened, most posters on this site would (correctly) recognise that whatever else this man may be he is not a prophet.

Now I prefer Wilkerson to Hinn, but will we we be willing to be honest and call a spade a spade when these things don't come to pass?

And they wont come to pass

Just a side note, but this message actually made it on the front page of the news distribution website known as the Drudge Report.

I have a great deal of respect for Dave Wilkerson. He was a close friend of Leonard Ravenhill, and his messages are extremely prayer provoking.

I guess time will tell if this message is correct or not. I would encourage the brethren to pray for Wilkerson and the work in New York.

I am in a serious quandary about these doomsday prophecies.

In the 1960s there were riots in the large cities: buildings burned all in the name of civil rights and anti-war demonstrations.

People marched on college campuses, on city halls, schools, streets; youth staged sit-ins on school campuses; people boycotted businesses. Tension was in the air - one did not know who to trust - all in the name of civil rights and anti-war sentiment.

Khrushchev declared they would take over the USA by 1973. It came and went and then it was the USSR which came to naught years later.

Many have prophesied calamities would befall the world with the turn of the century - Y2K, but it didn't.

Presidents come and go. When John F. Kennedy was running for the presidency in 1960 great fear fell upon Christians of what would happen to religious freedom if a Catholic man became president.

Richard Nixon won a second term in a landslide election that was unusual only to have it wrest from him within months (I think the time is right - I am writing from memory).

I mistrust Obama, but so did I Bill Clinton....

Many prophets have prophecied doom but it never happened the way they said it would but differently...

While I feel lots of unease, how can I be certain this is based on reality and not on fear or political rhetoric, given our country's history of violence? Sure I know the stimulus package is beyond absurd ....

So, we are urged to stockpile necessities - so what if this has been your lifestyle all these years? We can, freeze foods, make my own laundry soap; have food in our pantry..don't have a crank radio, though. And if we have these things, what will happen to them? Will people rob and steal from us? Then what?

I have more questions and the answers are a long time a-coming...reckon it would help some if I would not be so old??? :-(

Maybe one will just have to live one day at a time and know that if evil befalls us, God will be there to give us wisdom to deal with it...

Taco,

The prophet Jeremiah was confronted by another that directly contradicted what he had prophesied. And in the spirit of Jeremiah's answer I would say the same thing....

May you be right. It is my hope that none of these terrible things come to pass. But know this; all the prophets in the Scriptures including Christ said that in the last days things would be so frightful that men's hearts would fail them from fear. Terrible judgments would fall according to them.

What Bro Wilkerson has said is definately strong. What you have said is the same. I hope you are right. But if they do come to pass are you going to do the same thing and revisit this topic with a retraction of what you've prophicied instead of an 'I told you so'?

Who are we to say what God will, or will not, do. All I know is that the Lord has said:

James 5:16
The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

2 Chronicles 7:14
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

I have no doubt that the Lord keeps His promises, for He is a covenant keeping God. I am equally convinced that it has been the prayers of the saints that has stayed His hand in many things that have happened in the past.

We must not fear. We must pray.

I think the scariest type verses in the whole last days scenario that fill so many chpt.s is "because iniquity did abound, the love of most will grow cold" and verses like that, regarding those who professed to Know HIM but turn in the end, because of offenses or a lack of love for the truth or lack of love for His appearing.
Natural disasters, wars, persecutions, even starving to death are nothing compared to the falling away from Him, His Love and His Truth. That is very scarey to me and we're witnessing it more, as things get worse in this world.
I just asked elsewhere - Who would want to stay here - with what we see on the News everyday and what is coming? Only for His Glory, if it's His Will, we have to stay - but some of us are being mocked because we're wanting to go Home - as the Apostle Paul did. If we say "to die is gain" they think we're needing therapy or something.
Love waxing cold is going pandemic in this world and to think that Jesus said that the "whole world" will hate us - makes me think of Wurmbrand, as he watched 'christians' turn on each other to save their own lives and such.

Was just reading articles on Chinanews website dated Monday 3/9/09 that Korea is gearing up to attack us and southern Korea .... and then we see christians fighting today on other websites that have this same word from Brother Wilkerson on them.
I wonder how many are vexed by this world?
The 'only' reason HE delays His coming is for us to witness - and they'll know we're His Disciples only by our love. Imagine that. I think it's count the cost time, regardless when or if David has it down to a Tee - His Word does.

P
psalm1

36But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

37But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

38For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,

Looks to me like we will be eating and drinking till we enter the ark

Here is some encouragement -

Psa 91:5-12
(5) You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day,
(6) nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday.
(7) A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you.
(8) You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked.
(9) If you make the Most High your dwelling-- even the LORD, who is my refuge--
(10) then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent.
(11) For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways;
(12) they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.

Here is a new post david wilkerson made today on his blog:
http://davidwilkersontoday.blogspot.com/

A Further Word

“If the foundations be destroyed, what shall the righteous do?”

Recently I felt compelled to send out an URGENT message warning of an impending great calamity — such that will cause even God’s elect to tremble.

One Bishop asked, “Is there no further word: How should the righteous respond to such a word?”

I can only answer by sharing what the Holy Spirit is speaking to my own heart and what I am to do. I shared that I was led in a practical way to lay aside a month’s supply of food — because I have witnessed the panic in the wake of terrorism. That has to be a personal word for every individual.

This is what I hear the Holy Spirit speaking to my heart concerning my own spiritual response to impending calamity. It is simply this —STAND STILL AND SEE THE SALVATION OF THE LORD.

“And Moses said to the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will show you today…The Lord shall fight for you, and you shall hold your peace” (Exodus 14:13-14).

This is the attitude of faith in the face of calamity. What could Israel do on the brink of the Red Sea? Pharaoh’s army is pressing in, mountains are on both sides, and there is an impossible sea ahead. The flesh cries, “Do something!”

The flesh cries hopelessness. Can God’s people dry up the sea? Level a mountain? Fight a great army without having weapons? They are in what appears to be a dreadful, frightening situation. God’s people tremble — and in this hour of trembling comes a word from God. In essence:

“Stand still. Fear not. This is the hour of salvation. You are going to witness the pulling down of the foundations of a world power. But in the same hour, I will fight for you. Hold your peace — be still and see my works.”

Beloved, my warning is just one voice among many who are saying the same thing. We may all tremble for a season, but those who truly know God’s Word will be quickly comforted by the Holy Spirit. We will be baptized with a great peace — a supernatural quietness — which will be a tremendous witness to the fearful multitudes.

In Christ,

David Wilkerson

P
psalm1

Quote;
"Hinns and Wilkerson in the same sentence is rediclious "

Like Wilkerson is God?

"On the country road that night, I was seeing in my mind's eye New York City burning in flames. I saw more than a thousand fires burning at one time - an image I had seen before. There were riots, bloodshed, tanks rolling into the streets, troops wielding rifles in an attempt to restore order. People were mobbing grocery stores for provisions, looting merchants, raging out of control. I realized that when riots come, there will be no food left in grocery stores. Computer disasters will affect their jobs and paychecks. Violence on the streets could keep them shut up in their homes, perhaps for weeks.

"I became so overwhelmed at these thoughts that I had to grab onto a rail fence to support myself. I started weeping, crying out to the Lord, 'Oh, God, how can I prepare these devoted people for such devastation? They all can't just pick up everything and flee the city. Most have no car, no transportation and little income. They struggle just to pay rent and buy subway tokens, much less to buy hideaways in Vermont or Montana. They have no family outside the city, no hiding place, very little space to lay up supplies for emergencies. Most live in cramped apartments that are already overcrowded with the bare essentials. Please, Father - give us a word, a plan of survival. What can I do as a pastor? You've told me to warn them about what's coming. Why can't you give me your plan for preserving us? What do you want me to tell your people?'
The Lord heard my cry, and he gave me a comforting word. He whispered to my heart, 'David, you're seeing this whole matter from your point of view. Let me show you mine.'"

Note he said" I was seeing in my mind's eye"

I was at times square church the day after Wilkerson received this. He said specifically "God showed him 1000 fires"

He even offered counseling after the service

This was around 1992. It never happened

I think that it is a stretch to compare David Wilkerson with the likes of Benny Hinn or other charismatic prosperity preachers. The epicenter of Wilkerson's messages is to focus on and give ourselves to Christ Jesus. In my opinion, the focus of Benny Hinn's ministry is quite different.

That said: I am praying that this does NOT come to pass. I am praying for this land. Yes, sin does abound greatly...especially in a place like New York City (or the San Francisco Bay Area, where I live). Yet it has never been more ripe for a GREAT move of God! We point at difficult times as a catalyst for "revival" -- yet, often, it was because few people had reason to turn anywhere else. God is great enough to draw people unto Himself while things are going well. I just wish that God's people could go out and compell them to come to Christ!

On Saturday, my wife and I were listening to a message on the computer. During it, I was struck by how long it has been since I have introduced someone to the Lord. Yes, I wear my faith "on my sleeve" everywhere I go. I tell people about the Lord...and I desire for it to be seen in the way that I live my life. I even bring my Bible to work with me...I read it during breaks or during lunch...and it is placed on my desk so that people will see it (and possibly ask questions...which they have). Yet it has been a while since I have gotten on my knees next to someone...and prayed with them as they poured their hearts out to the Lord in repentance. There is no greater joy than to do this...and see them continue to walk with the Lord today. Yet it has been so long...and I literally hurt for it.

As I thought about this and discussed this with my wife on Saturday, we prayed for God to open doors. My wife mentioned that all believers should feel such misery at our failure to lead souls to the Lord. We should be miserable if we are living our lives for God without even blinking an eye at how few are coming to Christ!

I am praying that the Lord gives us more time. I know that the time is ripe for a nightmare scenario (economically, etc...). But the fields are already ripe for harvest. A light appears more distinct and bright in the darkness!

*EDIT - I am not saying that anyone here is comparing David Wilkerson with Benny Hinn. It just seems implied...and the comparison is unneeded.

so many go to man to define their christian walk.

many Christians pit one minister against the other.

Quote;
"And that it hasn't happened , doesn't mean it won't, does it???"

Thats not my point. It is fairly safe to say it will.
As I have much respect for Wilkerson.
He has been wrong in the past. So all these "prophetic words" are from men and therefore it is important to be led of the Holy Spirit

This conversation is getting absurd, such as comparing Hinn and Wilkerson and Wilkerson is not God, etc.

I would like to know if those who are opposing this word believe that the gift of prophecy (receiving prior knowledge of a future event) is still operating in the Church today.

Thanks

In the light of the current world events I find this Scripture rather comforthing:

Luke 17:26: And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. 27: They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.

If people are able to carry on everyday tasks I doubt that fire is raining down on them. Even if this Nation were attacked and fire came down on cities. It would not come down on all cities. Life would continue in some fashion. What a time to share the message of Jesus that would be.

That said: I am praying that this does NOT come to pass.

Something related to this subject is a series by Bill Randles on the book of Revelation. If you can find it it's excellent dealing with the judgments of God and how we ought to pray in relation to that.

An example is that at the heart of our prayers is the coming of the Kingdom of God. To pray for the Kingdom to come is to pray for judgment upon the earth.

In Rev. 8:1-6 the angel mixes the incense which is the prayers of the saints with fire from the altar and hurdles it at the earth. (edit: In this passage in Revelation, God is hearing the prayers of the saints and He answers their prayers by initiating the seven trumpet judgments.)

As much as I love America, my prayer is that America passes away because I know that it and all other nations on the earth must pass away in order that the Kingdom of God may take their place and take its rightful place as the only rule of authority upon the earth. This isn't a hatred for America but a love of my homeland.

SermonIndex posted this link on page 3 of this thread and in it, DW says once again, for the ? many times, that he's not a prophet.

A Time to Weep and a Time to Fight by David Wilkerson

In this sermon he said it more strongly than normally. I respect that.

Only thing is - it was cut short at the 45 min point or so and wondered if that is just how it's supposed to be?

Thank you for all on this Site though!

Isa 26:20 Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast.
Isa 26:21 For, behold, the LORD cometh out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain.

I might not go as far as comparing Hinn to Wilkerson, as Wilkerson is not a charlatan. But to the light of the gifts being active today, sure prophetic voice very well could and is active in many ways. But I ask that if we consistently apply Old Testament apocalyptic prophecy to the American system of things we are no better than the Phelps group. Damning and condemning everything American just because it's so worldly. The rest of the world is the same and in the same state of idolatry. Not much difference, been to england lately? How bout Australia? Debauchery and materialism is a human thing....period.

As far as Wilkerson is concerned, I believe the gifts and the Spirit are active and for today, but I do not believe Wilkerson is a prohpet, and I surely don't believe all of his "prophecies" have come true have they? I'd say he's got a fixation with walls of fire ever since 1985, and it recycles through every warning he gives....

I did not know how to take Bro. Wilkerson's message so I've just been reading and not commenting (until now). Jim, I believe the gift of prophecy, as you stated, is still in operation in the church today but I also know that the Word of God plainly says, "we prophesy in part and we know in part."

God bless,

Wanna know how to test if a prophet is of God or not? Scripture says that if he speaks a prophecy and it does not come to pass he is not a prophet of God, and we should not fear him.

If a prophet speaks in the name of the LORD but the thing does not take place or prove true, it is a word that the LORD has not spoken. The prophet has spoken it presumptuously; (Deuteronomy 18:22)

Judge for yourself.

Thats only part of the whole text, the real underlying proof is whether or not thier message turns the hearts of the people back to "thier" God. In other words thier message causes repentance, carefulness toward a holy God, a deep searching of ones self in the fear of the Lord,or a deep sense of awe. Look at Isiah verses Hezekiah or Jonah verses Nineveh, and way too many examples through out the bible to site historically. The primary function of the prophetic is intercession and a standing in the gap inorder to turn the hearts of the sons to the fathers and the fathers to the sons as it were, a restoring of divine order where the Lord is central again. But it goes deeper than just if it comes to pass. From Moses forward all of the prophets mentioned would have been stoned to death.

For the sake of clarity (since I was the first to mention Hinn and Wilkerson in the same sentence) I never compared Wilkerson to Hinn, read it again.

I compared our attitude to Hinn's failed prophecies to Wilkerson's. there is a difference.

Dohzman, you make a great point. And I would say that it is validated by Scripture, but also would add that a majority of the OT prophecies were of coming judgment upon an unrepentant Israel, and then the majority of miracles illustrated in the OT were miracles in the sense of miraculous, but judgments in the sense of destruction and condemnation. Would such a judgment come before the final coming? I don't see a necessity of doomsday prophesying when we have been told a final revelation from the Lord's mouth Himself that He will return to judge the quick and the dead....And in that day there will be much calamity..So if we are really just restating the obvious, especially from a prophet who doesn't claim to be a prophet, but a receiver of "Word" what is he then?

The word of God is in every believer. If God is your father then "my sheep hear my voice" is what is available to all that belong to him.

It doesnt matter who your favorite prophet or preacher is.

If he is my father too then he will tell me and the word of the prophet will be confirmed in my spirit by confirmation.

It is the inability to hear God that will work with the last days deception to deceive the "very elect"
