SERMONINDEX HELP NEEDED: Scriptures in sermons

S
sermonindex

Saints,

I need simple help from people who want to listen to sermons and write down the 1-2 sermons that come up. Really all someone would have to do is listen to the FIRST FEW MINUTES of the sermon and write down the scripture. example:

Jesus in your boat by Erlo Stegen
Scripture(s): Matthew 8:18-27

And then just email a list to me to add to the site: sermonindex@gmail.com

If 10+ people could help with this that would be tremendous, just start with any speaker that does not have scriptures and email me your work. I appreciate this effort saints. I hope to get sermonindex listed in some bible search engines on the internet and this will be a great way to spread these powerful teachings more...

This is an excellent idea, I'd be happy to help out. It be a great way to listen to some unheard messages from many folks I've never listened to!

S

If people want to help in this way I recommend you contact me and tell me the speaker you want to work on so I dont have others working on the same speaker, this way we will not double our efforts. And also dont keep a list of a week, send it to me at the end of the day after you have done some references. even 10 sermons done are a huge help!

I checked the list to find a preacher that appealed to me. I checked out Vance Havner and found one sermon without a reference and here goes:

Jesus Never Comes Next - Vance Havner
Luke 9: 59
Matthew 6:33

Will look for another preacher.

If we have more than one verse "section" within the same book, do we need to repeat the book name?

For example:

Isaiah 40:10-11, Isaiah 51:5

If we have more than one verse "section" within the same book, do we need to repeat the book name?

Yes! but for each sermon 1-2 to scriptures is fine. and 3 is the maximum. As long as we get the first scripture mentioned in the sermon that is the most important part of this process.

Just thought I would give a word of encouragement here...it has really been a blessing to me to listen to these excerpts from sermons. I have become aware of many gems there that are waiting to be mined...So, if you have not participated I would encourage you to do so.

Many of the ones I have listened to are from days of yore - the oldest sermon I heard was given in 1957! The preaching style of these brethren are like I remember from childhood - I was born in 1947...It is almost like my childhood revisited. I praise and thank the LORD for this opportunity...
