R:Thanks for your post i am rather confused because you are judging me without really knowing me.
g:You are judging that i am judging you, however you fail to even acknowledge questioning of the message in your posts (towards what you claim to adhere to). This is what stands judged, and that by a scriptural standard.
R:I will be the first to examine myself.
g:Then why have you not done this. I have spent much time doing just what you claim that you will be the first to do, from the first post on this thread, in return, directed towards you even to this one.
R:But i must say that it is premature to judge so sharply not knowing me in person.
g: Premature?
Well then:
1.) either you are believing lies and so writing
or
2.)you lie in stating things you really do not believe.
Which one is it???
R:If all christians believed the same theology and interpretation of scripture the same way we would not have so many denominations and certainly would not have a forum in which we discuss our different theology.
g:
theos=god
logy=story
There is little credence in stories about god(s) when there is only one. He reveals His WHOLE counsel in the scriptures, and the reason for so many different stories is the rebellious heart in a person. Human tendency is to take a verse here and there, or perhaps even passages without recognizing purpose, context, or where the division of such begins and ends, then recreate God, man, and situations of life into their own devising according to this misunderstanding of God's Word.
This is the reason for so many different 'god-stories'. What is supposed to be theology has become philosophy on man's terms. Thoughts are the more appropriate label would be mythology.
It's pitiable.
Doctrine with firm footing in scriptural foundation, i.e., scripture as primary, and resulting doctrine secondary, seems to be the most proper.
R:When i said we need the holy spirit it was not meant to be an indictment on every single christian here i was alluding to the fact that the holy spirit is one of the most wonderful blessings God can give us (If you knew me in person you would know this) but you see indictment were there is only a yearning and love for the person of the holy spirit.
g:...and this was the reason you were told to speak for yourself, and no, i do not know you personally,yet... but we are off to a good start. (Do not say we since it is not you.)
R:I didn't think anyone was condemning me neither was i condemning anyone myself. If my tone has been perceived as arrogance or pride or being puffed up then you must all forgive me as this was not my intention (im naturally a quiet person, except in matters of the gospel). In these kind of forums i would rather be a judge of content i read than judge the man behind a computer writing.
g: You misunderstand what the word condemn means, Look it up.
Though the tone of what has been written to you from here has been misconstrued to be the signature of anger, hatred and pride, this is not so. Issue has been taken with your prayer life and understanding/promotion of what you think the scriptures say.
Extreme prejudice is not towards you, but the lie you believe(d?).
There were two issues of concern and nothing else.
Why couldn't we have taken this off forum rather than doing this in front of everybody? Do you think that what you are doing so right, and yet have not seen your continued waywardness?
You have been given plenty of time and opportunity to message or send something to my e-ddress but nothing from you is there.
How should i begin?
...a little less adimance i am told.
We are brothers in Jesus Christ, and it is because He knows you that he even bothered me to make attendance towards this error. Change your mind so you change your ways.
Two issues have been confronted. One you avoid and in the other you accuse.
You pray for closer relationship and greater understanding with God and His Word, yet you think that someone God has told to help you out His way is against you?
...wrongo bucko.
It bothered you to read, "talk is cheap, so, put your money where your mouth is..."; yet, you ignore the first issue brought to question, sidestepping what you have been confronted about. (Not in so few words, you say that i could be a little nicer, yet, you are not so thin-skinned to be unable to bear this.) You try to skirt around what you know is lacking, rather than attempting to rectify it. You have an unrepentant attitude about it. If you continue this way, there will be no conversion towards even thinking about doing the right thing, much less actually purposing to do it.
Judge yourself and you will not be judged. It's hard to admit when we are wrong, but with rectifying the situations that are wrong, then forsaking them, God gives more than enough grace to overcome the spirit of pride.
R:"You confuse extreme prejudice for anger, malice, and condemnation." was it the holy spirit that told you this about me? I have been called the Anti Christ by people i know for 10 years because i refuted the prosperity gospel. I do not pray? Well i wont respond ill leave that to God. i know people who have been studying for 30 years and are forever studying but never able to come to conclusion of the truth and brother im sure you are indeed a masterful theologian and maybe you have had a couple of encounters with people over the years but as i am new here wouldn't it not be wiser to pray to discern what spirit i have before judging. Reading my post and assuming you know me is premature and judging a thing before its time.
g: i do not read books of theology, doctrine, nor even marketed christian pablum and pulp.
When something is seen to be clearly in opposition to what God has taught this one from His word,
i pray,..
and then follow the Holy Spirit's leading, more often than not, pray more.
R:I think you will not understand what im saying in my posts if you don't understand me because you will rush into conclusions some people on here might ask a question they may already have an answer too at the prompting of the holy ghost... "
g: it is the spirit behind the post, and not you (the person) that conclusions are very clear about.
My purpose is not to understand you, though we might just end up being close friends.
R: ...so if i rushed in an judged them based on the post it could be quite easy to see things from the vanity of my imagination having not really heard from God(the heart is such a deceitful thing). I think im guilty of that myself.
g: You said that, not me.
R:If you actually read my post you will see that i pointed to Romans 9, what i believe is not that God doesn't violate free will but that he is sovereign and yet we have free will (because i quote Romans 9 doesn't mean im a calvinst because im not). Thank God for all the great writers but its is the words of Christ that will lead me to truth.
g: Yes, and then you talk about sovereignty as though God so limits Himself that He will not interfere with human 'free'-will. Where is that in the Bible?
You speak of election being towards people and not things.
(these two issues are the essentials of Calvinism, often along with the idea that since God is in control, i'm only supposed to pray for certain things...HOW ABOUT PRAYING ONLY TO SEE AND KNOW HIM CLEARLY ...then recognize His work in everything that touches your senses? )

re: proper understanding of scripture
See that verbs in greek, over 98% of the time indicate the passages meaning. By simply mistaking what subject/object a verb is pointing to, misinterpretations occur. (For example, the KJV, ESV, NASB may be word for word, yet both context and division are sometimes misunderstood due to improper understanding of syntax. This may be the very source of the reason their translators call them versions and NOT translations.)
-------------------------------------------
R:If you know me then you know im not calvinist but if you infer from text you see things your mind want to see. Rather than appoint ourselves judge jury and executioner why not pose your concerns in the guise of questions that edify? aren't we here to edify?
g:(see previous response above)
Yes, we are here to build up. i have not appointed myself as anything. i compare myself with Jesus and so despise and betray myself. my life is not my own. i have been bought with a price nothing on earth can even come close to. There is no 'pleasure' or 'power' that will ever be able to compare with what i know by Jesus Christ, in Him, and through Him. Nothing else matters at all.
To build something that lasts, that which is detrimental to a sound structure must be eliminated.
R: I dont read the bible to get a PHD in theology and become a pharisee absolutely not. Do i understand everything absolutely not, but do i love Gods word absolutely.
g: Since you love God's Word absolutely, why do you take other people's spin compared what the Word actually says, then make it your own, and write it here?
R:Saying nobody should post any view unless they have read all the books on your shelf just smacks of pride to me.
g: Now that is really funny. My bookshelves are very short. One is in my nightstand, and one is in an 18" cubby. There is one interlinear of the Masoretic mss; one of the Textus Receptus, listing all found variations of it. There is the Otogra and another Hebrew O.T. mss without the added markings-these both are for comparative purposes. Besides that you will find a few word dictionaries (one old Webster's and several lexicons). That's it, and it is seriously doubted most have either the patience or the time to sift through them to achieve any head knowledge. (now the family bookself in the hallway, well everybody's books, the one's i do not use are there, except various Bibles of differing translations.
What you state is a conclusion drawn out of thin air.
The issue directed towards you is your assuming that what you believe is what the scriptures actually say. Your approach is like looking foreward while driving with the pedal to the metal in reverse.
Another collision is inevitable.
R:It is for God to judge who is a babe and who is mature amongst us. The Pharisees could quote entire books verbatim yet they still rejected christ. Me having information without revelation profits me nothing.
g: The impression you give from these words is that the whole of the scriptures are not the revelation of Jesus Christ. Is that right?
Agreed is knowledge in the mind without God revealing it towards testing our faith is ignorance and fills a person with so much pride, they become closed off to anything that will help them.
R:The underlying point of my posts on this thread is that God is sovereign and has a purpose for all things even if we dont understand them. Does that mean we should not pray? obviously not, should i pray for false teachers? I simply was alluding to the fact of doing what i am instructed to do primarily regarding them. If have done primarily what i am instructed to do there is no issue with praying for the likes of Bentley if i choose to if i still believe God can do the impossible and show mercy to whoever he chooses to.
g: OK, since you know what you are instructed to do regarding false teachers, tell us. What you say is your primary instuction is correct insofar as we are to continue in prayer for our brothers and sister...but that is not all and only what we are to pray. Personally, at my present growth stage, i find both these things as 6th and 7th if rational prayer priorities were to be listed.
R:We all know all the books that talk about dealing with false prophets from 2 peter, 1 tim, 2 tim etc and some may have different revelations of what we think God is saying but i will leave with this.
g: From Genesis to Revelation, there are indicators and directions as to how to deal with false teachers and falsehood. Don't ignore the rest you fail to recognize.
2 Timothy 2:22-26
R:22 Flee the evil desires of youth, and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. 23 Don't have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels. 24 And the Lord's servant must not quarrel; instead, he must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful. 25 Those who oppose him he must gently instruct, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, 26 and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will.
g: the beginning of youthful desires to flee is leaning on our own understanding and its end is death.
This is the very reason for the gravity in what has been written to you directly.
Captivity comes from the first part of which you quote as end-note.
Gentleness is according to yours with yourself towards God alone.
Jesus said He is meek and lowly. His life, even in His many rebukes, commands, pushing people out of the way, picking and choosing who he allowed to walk and go places with Him, and making a whip out of chords driving out those in the temple whose purpose was not in prayer to God. These are the example of this "gentleness" for us also.
Gentleness in instruction: yes.
Gentleness in rebuke? Well, that is all according to God's direction.
Kindness is not always what we percieve as nice.
You remain in prayers
as other brothers and sisters here.
Only God can change us,
and that by no stretch of the imagination
excludes me.
R:Apologies to anyone i have offended by any of my posts. If my writing style has offended i will examine future post before posting with a view to making sure what i write is clear in love and edifying.
Phanetheus if i have upset you then please accept my apologies.
g: Oh, quit already. You are not asked to back down and no apology to me is even needed.
You are requested to confront the issues of prayer and the scriptures with quite a bit less frivolity...
...and if what you write is not really from your heart as part of your life... well, you know where the delete button is.
You have not upset me personally in the least.
Here are the issues for you to consider before God before you even consider telling others:
1. Your prayer life the way you understand and imagine it should be;
2. Re-examining always what you (or others) think the scriptures say;
That's all brother.
R: ps: i will stop listening to paul washer as i think his tone might be creeping into my posts lol
g: i don't think so, but i may be wrong; because
this might be where the idea of Calvinism popped into this picture.)
Shortly
there will be (D.V.)
coming soon to a theater near you,
a thread posted
entitled "the above 2 mentioned things".
Though it is hardly directly related to this thread,
you might find some reality that has helped me immensely
regarding not just dealing with,
but overcoming habitual sins.
Agape,

Acts 20:32
"The kingdom then is not for weaklings, waverers, and compromisers... It is not for Balaam, the rich young ruler, Pilate, and Demas... It is not won by means of deferred prayers, unfulfilled promises, broken resolutions and hesitant testimonies. It is for strong and sturdy men like Joseph, Nathan, Elijah, Daniel, Mordecai, and Peter... Stephen... and Paul. And let us not forget such valiant women as Ruth, Deborah, Esther, and Lydia"
~William Hendrickson~
In 1981, for psych1030, i was assigned to arranged two class field trips. One was to the women's correctional facility for the criminally insane, and the other was to the state hopital's schitzophrenic ward.
At the first, what was recognized by all the class was that these women's crimes against society were usually a result of improper sexual desires unchecked.
In the field trip to the state hospital, we were allowed to talk with the free-roaming patients.
A short fellow stood at the entrance into that part of the facility with a tall woman,
The guy claimed to be Napoleon, hand tucked inside his hospital robe as he stood there so stern.
The woman thought she was the reincarnation of Minnie Pearl (who had then not yet even died).
When asked who told them who they were,
they both said almost in unison, and quite loud, "God did!"
Inside that room, a man sat with his back turned to the class.
He swiftly snapped his head around staring round and wide-eyed at all of us.
At the top of His lungs, he shouted , "I DID NOT!"
