Ronald,
That one above this, your last post made me BAGROFLOL.
=================================================
Ya know Ronald,
What tickles me about you is that you have this vendetta of righting wrong through wrong.
Your emphasis of homosexuality, stating not so susinctly that "this is not ultimate abomination" brings this issue into the limelight as though it is. This is why you are, as Christian stated, "beating against the bricks."
In the Law, right before homosexuality is mentioned, it says that adultery is an abomination, yet you don't state that this is ok.
In the Law, after homosexuality is mentioned, it says that bestiality is an abomination, yet you don't state that this is ok.
You are beating against the bricks.
(It would be helpful to look into the word 'dog' in the cultural context of scripture, because this is the Jewish idiom for homosexual/idolater. Dogs go one way or the other. whatever feeds their appetite. In reference to homosexuality, it is not beyond one in this condition to commit adultery or bestiality...
...or any other thing that is pornia (aka: fornication), whatever feeds the appetite.)
Exhibitionism fed yours.
What has been done to you that has caused you to be given over to such anger so as to outlet it through attempting to undermine the faith of those who are not well versed in scripture or would rather walk according to the dictates of their fleshes desires over God's for them?
Was it what kind of pervert back in Ohio?
Knowing how limited you are, it is not expected that you are capable of responding to this with all the other things that drive you, so, if you don't, it's understandable.

Phanetheus, you have no idea how big my Bible is.
---------------------------------------------------------------
p: Talk about the first utterance in prayer answered... Praise King Yahshuvah! This is a sign and time to celebrate...
...or was it the minimizing of what you claim?
(Prolly both together as one thing.)
NTL, it was thought that you "chickened out."
See where our reasoning can get us?
You're right, i have no idea how BIG your Bible is...
yet your reasoning of it is incongruent with scripture as a whole, out of bounds, and advocates a doctrine of demons.
You have no idea that you just opened a can of worms
and what you call '?gospel?'
will be under foot.
You will know this Ronald, though i may never know, nor is it any concern how big you think your Bible might be.
All i care to know is this:
Jesus Christ has and continues to save me from my own sinful ways (of which sexual perversion was no small part), heals and restores this mind, this body, and situations outside of these.
He can and will save you from yourself as well. It is as simple as changing your mind and direction in relying on Him to determine what to do.
Putting a new spin, which is not really new, on scripture is not soundly abiding in His good graces though.
Thank Him for His loving mercy towards us all or no person would exist.

You wrote, "Jesus did not trump the Law. He gave it and lived it perfectly, adding the spirit of the matter to the bare minimal letter."
First, Jesus obviously DID trump the Law. He worked and healed on the Sabbath, much to the consernation of the Bible experts.
---------------------------------------------------------------
p:First, Jesus obviously DID NOT trump the Law; however, man's understanding of it, trump it He did. He did good and healed on the Sabbath, much to the consernation of the Bible experts opinion of the Law, who considered the letter more valid than what they ignored: the weightier matters which are it's foundation.
These are the same Bible experts of which Jesus told the common folk to do what they say and not what they do:
“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faith. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone. Blind guides, who strain out a gnat and swallow a camel!
“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you cleanse the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of extortion and self-indulgence. Blind Pharisee, first cleanse the inside of the cup and dish, that the outside of them may be clean also.
Mt. 23.23-26 NKJV
"These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone," are the words from Jesus mouth, which hardly sounds like Jesus trumping the Law.
What of this?
Does this sound like Jesus trumped the Law?
"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.
Mt. 5.16-20
Is this what you mean when you say Jesus trumped the Law?
Jesus did not trump the Law. He validated it, ultimately, in proxy, going to the cross and paying the penalty for our own lawbreaking. In doing this: dying because we brought the curse of the Law on ourselves, he proved beyond a shadow of doubt that the Law is now more valid than ever. It isn't just a matter of to the letter, but Jesus filled it full by offering His spirit to all who will recieve so that in Him, we too can fill fully the Law. Jesus validated the Law and said to abide by it in no uncertain terms.

Violation of the Sabbath was, like homosexuality, a death-penalty offense. It was very, very serious. And Jesus' teaching superceded the clear teaching of Scripture.

p:Violation of the Sabbath was, like homosexuality, a death-penalty offense. It was very, very serious. And Jesus' teaching superceded not clear teaching of Scripture, but the traditions of men and their fence laws surrounding Shabbat. Jesus clarified the Law rather than violating it as many think (assuming the same stance through understanding scripture not unlike the scribes and Pharisees).
They didn't stone him because:
1. He proved to them their traditions were getting in the way of obedience, thinking sacrafice was the ultimatum;
and
2. He had not finished what the Father designed and designated through Him.

My dear brother, Paul explained what it means for believers to fulfill the Law.
"Do not owe anyone anything, except to love one another, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law." (Romans 13:8)
When you love others, you are fulfilling the Law.
---------------------------------------------------------------
The above statement is reverse of what is obverse to it:
When you fulfill the Law, you are loving others.
Both are true, and one without the other is exactly what legalism is all about.
The problem seen here is that most misunderstand what the Bible calls love, whether: towards self, familial, brotherly, socially, sexually, or godly.
These things are all summed up in the Law and the Prophets, as Jesus stated, “The first of all the commandments is: ‘Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment. And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these,” Mk. 12.29-31.
In these two statements is the summary of the whole of the Torah. Of the ten words, we see commandments 1-4 in the first commandment Jesus gave. Of the ten words, we see the second six in the second commandment Jesus gave.
The Mosaic Law is applicable to those who will be kings and priest of the holy nation of Jesus Christ when he returns, and spells out the nitty-gritty details. The only change in this we can find after the New Covenant was initiated --not instituted, (see: Lk. 22.16, Gal., and Heb.)-- was that of Levitical Law and ordinances.
THE LAW WAS NEVER ABOLISHED.
JESUS DID NOT TRUMP THE LAW.
HE VALIDATED IT.

"For what the Law could not do, weak as it was through the flesh, God did: sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin, He condemned sin in the flesh, so that the requirement of the Law might be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit." (Romans 8:3-4)
---------------------------------------------------------------
p:Right:
" ...He condemned sin in the flesh, so that the requirement of the Law might be fulfilled --(validated)-- in us..."
Walking in the spirit, it is no big thing to observe the letter. As we grow into Christ Jesus, we understand it all much more clearly. Note that it says 'might', which does not neccesarily mean 'will'.

r:
It is possible to fulfill the requirements of the Law, but not by measuring your conformity to the Torah's demands. Relating to the words of the O.T. Law short-circuits the Holy Spirit in your life, which results in defeat.
"For the entire law is fulfilled in one statement: You shall love your neighbor as yourself." (Galatians 5:14).
This is the Law we live by, the new commandment Christ gave to us, to love our neighbors as ourselves.
Paul told us the damage and futility of relating people to the demands of the written code.
We must learn to minister without resort to the Law, or we doom our ministries and our followers to inevitable defeat.
This is a spiritual problem, not a mere polemical problem.
---------------------------------------------------------------
It is not a matter of argument at all, no matter how one may feel.
You and Philogos (and others here) have something in common stating it is merely spiritual. How does one express spirituality if not physically and through the mind? (Rom. 12.1-2)
If the obverse were not clearly enough stated above, here's food for thought as to the details defining love relative to what God desires in us:
Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves Him who begot also loves him who is begotten of Him. By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep His commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome. For whatever is born of God overcomes the world.
I Jn. 5.2-4
Truth is revealed by God's Spirit ( I Cor. 2.10-16; John 14.17; 15:.6; 16.13 ), so our calling has nothing to do with our works. Romans 9.16 tells us that it is not of him who wills or of him who runs, but of God who shows mercy. Thus, we are in this position because God, by His Spirit, has drawn us. He, by His Spirit, has revealed Himself, His Word, and the purpose of life to us. Our calling and election are completely a work of grace. At the point of our calling, law-keeping has nothing to do with it, but comes into play later when our faith works through love.
Yet, we must recognize what exactly this means.
What are we saved for?
Eph. 2.8-10
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
The Bible defines love for and of God like this:
(Jesus said,) " "If you love me, keep my precepts-commanded." ( Jn. 14.15 )
This is the love of God, that we keep His commandments."
( I Jn. 5.3).
In the same way, Paul says when we really believe in(to) the Jesus who lived as He lived in the gospels, we will conform our life activities into His way of living on earth as well. This produces the keeping the Law, which is not yet abolished.
Paul like John says faith works by (what the Bible calls) love, in Gal. 5:
4 Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.
5 For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.
6 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.
Paul says the exact same thing as v. 6 above in a different way in I Cor. 7.19 :
"Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but the keeping of the commandments of God."
The evidence of our faith, then, is in whether or not we keep His commandments. John tells us that the basis of love is commandment-keeping. It is not the whole picture, because emotion, feeling, is also tied to it, but we have to begin somewhere, and the bottom line is keeping the commandments.
Another statement that proves that Paul was not doing away with law keeping comes right from the context of the Gal. 5 passage (above). The word "Spirit" reflects on a subject he dealt with earlier. The enemy—The Jewish concision—believed that their calling and election by God came because they were circumcised according to the Law, keeping even the Levitical way .
Paul is saying, "No. We are drawn to God by His Spirit," which is what Jesus says in John 6:44-45, which also gives us implication as well, as to exactly when the Law will be written on our hearts and minds in Jeremiah's prophecy of the future:
44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.
45 It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me.
Now is the time of being drawn to God by His Spirit, walking in the faith(fulness) of Christ Jesus through His grace. We are saved unto, not into good works.
"...Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good. Was then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid."
( Rom. 7.12-13 )
Our experience of God is limited to what we know from Him.
God is not going to be unholy and bow down and accept our own ways because we think they are right.
In imitation of the great God, our saviour Jesus Christ, walking in Him in His faith(fulness towards our Heavenly Father and His gifts of grace flow as promised.
What avails is faith working through love, fulfilling the law in our own lives.
Our experience of God in our lives is limited to our knowledge and affirmation of Genesis thru Revelation in thought, word and deed...and not just 'spiritually'.
Love, Hope, and Faith,

...I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears. And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.
