What would be some of Spurgeon's best well known Sermons. I'm getting ready to start reading the book Lecture to my students, and would like to get a bit acquainted with some of his best stuff. I've read some sermons here and there and they were all very good, but he must have some classics.
Spurgeon Sermons
"The Story of God's Mighty Acts."
Sunday morning, July 17th 1859.
Thanks!!
Over at sermonaudio.com, Spurgeon's "True Prayer - True Power" is his number one downloaded sermon with over 50,000 hits.
I believe Spurgeon is at his best when he preaches on the cross, on grace, and on sovereignty:
-The Death of Christ
-The Death of Christ for His People
-The Two Appearings and the Discipline of Grace
-Grace Abounding Over Sin Abounding
-The Unconquerable King
-Sovereign Grace and Man's Responsibility
Another of note is "The Preacher's Power and Conditions for Obtaining It."
That said, some of his best is the very volume you are about to read.
Giggles is right, Lectures to My Students is a great book.
