We may claim it is too hard to believe in the love of God, but God has proved that He loves us. Out of love for us He suffered immeasurably, delivering up His Son into the hands of sinners. He suffered with His Son when He was tormented and mistreated beyond recognition and then finally killed. So whatever God does is always love, even when we do not understand His actions. It is at these times that we should love Him most — for the sake of His great act of love, the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. We should honour Him with our trust.
