President Obama marks Ramadan

S

By Alexander Mooney, CNN

Washington (CNN)– President Obama Monday is marking the beginning of Ramadan, the month-long Muslim holiday of fasting and reflection.

In a statement issued by the White House, the president said, "Times like this remind us of the lesson of all great faiths, including Islam – that we do unto others as we would have them do unto us."

He also said he will be hosting an iftar dinner at the White House, an event he hosted last year as well.

I have read that during this month, Christians out of the love of their heart can reach muslims as they seek God. We should all spend time in prayer for muslims and our president as well. He may or may not be muslim, doesn't really matter since he needs our prayers regardless of our thoughts about him.

Amen brother. Though I would wish he would speak with a converted Moslem who has seen the light of Christ. Our President would be in for a shocker. Converted Moslems called MBB's, Moslem background believers, do not understand why American's want to become Moslem. They have seen the oppression of Islam and experienced the glorious freedom of Jesus. Something the President has not seen.

I also wish the President would see what his great faith is doing to my brothers and sisters around the world. But then I do not think Mr. Obama reads the Voice of the Martyrs magazine. For that matter he probably does not read the human rights report isued by the U. S. Dept. of State. He probably does read the Koran.

Indeed, I will be spending sometime fasting and praying.

really? were eating as much as we can?
Does the fact that muslims fast make God take notice?
I hope my good works will then indeed make a difference.
Just kidding, I realize that we do get complacient and lazy. Im guilty of that my self to a very large degree.
I can only speak for myself, I know I don't pray enough or fast.
I feel like God has left us and I don't want to pray anymore or fast. It's so depressing all arouind and our country "u.s.a." is falling apart morally and spiritually.
I hope the answer doesnt lie in the fact were not praying hard enough or fasting enough... but actually just humblimg ourselves and knowing God needs to intervene on our behalf. May we see something happen, evangelicals repenting, muslims repenting, Obama repenting, congress repenting..it would be a good day.

Was this comment really necessary? On what evidence do you base such a claim? Are you really connecting Mr Obama to the killing of martyrs, whose title you use as your screen name? What makes you think that he's a muslim? His name? His skin color? This is so typical.

If comments such as yours are indicative of Christianity, you can keep it to yourself.

I think that this president needs prayer. I don't know where he stands with the Lord but I know that we who profess the name of Jesus as Lord are instructed to pray for our leaders so that is what I do.

God Bless

Redflag,
Since this is your only post and you just joined today, I suspect you are a troll. So I won't take much time.

I don't think martyr was connecting Mr. Obama PERSONALLY to the killing of martyrs. I believe he was saying that Obama MIGHT think twice about Islam if he knew the horrors that Muslims put Christians through in their countries.
While I don't believe Mr. Obama is of any religious party (except perhaps the religion of greed) there are a few things that would point to him being a Muslim. This particular holiday being observed is one. (Why didn't/doesn't he observe lent also? Could it be he prefers Islam? Hmmmm.) He reads the Quran in Arabic and speaks Arabic. I have seen him recite pieces of the Quran in Arabic on NATIONAL TV. That doesn't necessarily make him Muslim, but it is suspicious. Why memorize the Quran unless your going to follow it?

Redflad said:

Typical of whom? Typical of right-winged, Republican nutcases who CALL themselves Christians but who are not? We must remember, statistically 80% of people who call themselves Christians are not. They are unconverted church members.

Redflag said:

Firstly, you read too much into martyr's comment, I believe.
Secondly, ditto. You have just proven yourself to be a hypocrite. Your comment was much harsher than martyrs and yet you have the gall to tell him to keep it to himself? Woe unto you!

I agree with martyr. His eyes need to be opened. But only God can do that. So with MaryJane I say, PRAY FOR HIM!

The evidence has been clear for a long time that Barrak Obama is pro muslim and anti christian.

However lets just take his quote about "doing unto others as you would have them do unto you."

Well then islam wants to enslave the whole world.

Islam condems anyone who converts from islam to christianity.

Islam outlaws christians everywhere being able to share the gospel openly.

If thats your do unto others Mr obama then you can keep "that" religion to yourself.

These and many more are facts proven over and over for the whole world to see, except those who are blind.

Veronica,

I acknowledge your post, though I disagree. I am not a troll, but have been around the forums for a number of years. I know that for me to respond and for us to continue this discussion will be fruitless. You can keep your woe, as I am not in need of it.

Thanks.

Really is this necessary? You're trying to play the race card?

This is not what this forum is about. I'm not a moderator, but if you're going to converse on here in such a manner you are welcome to leave.

It doesn’t matter WHAT Obama says or WHAT Obama marks on the calendar, God put him in office. Period. And it’s a that-settles-it kind of period from God.

So why, oh why are Christians not taking it up with God with what Obama marks or the things he says?? Because God is ONLY ONE who will remove him from office. We can proclaim a day of repentance for our wicked ways and proclaim a day of fasting and pray for mercy in 2012 or we can continue to gripe and complain and moan and groan and watch God let the man get re-elected to a second term. (edit: no one thought Bill Clinton would get re-elected and God allowed it)

All you great Christians... which is it that you want to do? Hang on to your right to complain or humble yourselves?

P

Lysa, its true that no matter what obama marks on a calendar.
Unless the heart of the people are truly humble towards the lord things will not turn around.

True we do tend to complain alot. I want the old days back when it seemed everybody was going to church. especially in the bible belt.
But again I suppose many churches were filled with unconverted believers.
I was one of those, and have had a good time of fellowship with the Lord, and now again im struggling.
I look all around myself and get depressed with what I see. The obvious hyprosacy, It used to be behind closed doors but now the door is off the hindges and walking right into church.
I guess I can pray, but I don't feel like it, I don't feel like God is listening, I know he is theologically. yet my feelings are real.
I'll complain to God and while I complain to Him I will remember im nowhere close to being a great christian, probably never will unless God helps me...
I like many christians out there feel helpless, powerless, and like God has left us.
I probably have offended someone, but thats how I feel, im wounded, hurting, and when I pray at night and say I love you Lord, I feel like a hyprocrite, and I don't hear an I love you too back either...sigh. not that I'd ever diserve one anyway./

I have made no secret in this forum that my heart lies with the persecuted church. My post have reflected that as my desire has been to call attention to the fact a suffering church exist. Three times s week I meet with other intercessors on a con call where we lift up the persecuted in other lands. As part of that ministry I read profiles to keep abreast what is happening to the persecuted. This includes, but not limited to, Voice of the Martyrs, Open Doors, Comopass Directt, etc. I try to avail myself to documentaries of those countries that give background to the suffering. I do this to be more effective in my prayers for those who suffer for Jesus.

I share this to let the record stand that I am not anti Obama or anti Islamic. Thus when I speak this it is from the stand point of testimony of the persecuted church. Case: harsh Islamic laws have Imprisoned Asia Bibi in Pakistan. Extreme Islamic elements want this Christian mother dead. A bounty has been put on her head by an Islamic cleric. Case: extreme Islamic elements gunned down Shsbbaz Bhatti. He was the Christian minister of minority affairs in Pakistan. He championed the minority rights of Christians and others. His stand earned him death threats from Islamic extremist and were carried out. Case:: islamic extremist have run most of the Christian poulation out of Iraq. This has been done under threat to convert to Islam or die. Shall I speak of Samalia, Afghanistan, Nigeria, etc. These facts can be verified by googled. Better yet speak to a converted Moslem. If they are honest they will tell you the Koran teaches to kill the infidel. This is the Christian. And this saints is the great faith the President honors.

The Constitution gives us the right to complain, God does not. Sadly, many hold the constitution as equal to the Bible.

We are to pray for our leaders and send Words of redemption to them.

Now, here is the rub. What are Words of Redemption? Well, they are words of truth. Not just lovey-dovey type stuff.

Are any Christians close to the President giving him true Godly counsel? We don't know. Could be. He could be rejecting it, too. On the other hand, if God has sent a man of God to speak truth to him, it may be having an effect within him. We don't know what is going on in his life, but one thing is for sure, that if Christians attack and complain they could ruin what the Holy Spirit might be doing in his life.

We know that most churches are an extension of the State since they have agreed to be non-taxable and have entered into contract with the Government to become non-taxable. So, they will not preach the whole counsel of God from the Pulpit regarding the Government. They simply can't, otherwise their tax deduction could very well be removed.

So, we have to pray that God will raise up individual, godly men, who fear no man and no devil and will speak truth to the President and all leaders in this nation regardless of their personal loss.

Speaking truth is different than complaining, much different.

Do men like this exist? God knows.

Mike

P.S. Everytime I hear a Christian complain, I know it is not the Spirit of Christ.

Should a Christian cellibrate Ramadan?

The real tragedy is that so many people put their political party affiliation ahead of their relationship with Jesus Christ.

M

A Christian should not celebrate false gods and idols.

Ramadan is about false gods.

Did Elijah celebrate with the prophets of Baal?

Is there a man of God today, that knows how to speak truth to Obama without complaining about earthly things?

Seems like earthly things are more important than Obama's salvation. I don't have access to him, but if I did I know what I would say to him, face to face. Let's pray, God gives someone that kind of access.

Lysa, God gave us our current President as a judgement upon us. Part of how we repent is by seeing and saying whats wrong so that in 2012 we don't reelect him.

We also must and many are now repenting for our national sins and praying to the Lord to be merciful to us.

Lysa, God calls us to pray for the wicked rulers as well as the just rulers.

When we pray for wicked rulers we pray that they repent of their wickedness or be removed.

God has chosen to do much of His work through our humble and contrite prayers supplications petitions to Him for the situations.
He answers them in many ways. One of them is giving us wisdom to elect leaders who are wise and acknowledge Him and His laws.

"Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord" Psalm 33:12

However, "The wicked shall be turned into Hell and all the Nations that forget God." Psalm 9:17

We are called to be co laborers with Christ in the discipling of the Nations!

Since Islam is a perversion of Judaism & the teachings of the Messiah, told to Mohammed the Prophet who seems to have had odd conversations with dubious angels, Obama's being more than Diplomatically Correct about Ramadan is a real problem for a professed Believer in the Messiah.

Unfortunately, Obama is of the marxist Social Justice Church that lives in a lot of anger as they seek to have all wrongs redressed for humanity regardless of when or where it occurred, and if anyone alive was directly involved in hurting the poor unfortunates that church seeks to help by fomenting a forced equivalency, just as if they were the first Church in Jerusalem, and communists because they held wealth in common, as most tribal families still do to this day in the Middle East.

Add to that several years in a Madrassah being force fed the Koran under the age of seven, which the Catholic Church still claims is their minimum 'teaching' time to have a Catholic for their lifetime, a communist family on every side, including his Grandparents, and two muslim marxist fathers, it would more than surprising if we found Obama to attend a more Believing Church. As Obama's chaplain is also a Black Social Justice Clergyman similar to Jeremiah Wright of Chicago church days and mentoring, I cannot see Obama coming out anytime soon for any part of what our Puritan, Calvinist, and Reformist original colonists would have advocated.

Add to those facts, Obama's daily spewing of the most horrendous lies about every question, and one knows who Obama leans toward: The Father of Lies.

Could Obama be a Christian? According to the Bible, all things are possible for YHWH. But according to Obama's fruit, I don't really see it. He would not be darkening our country's last days of strength without being deliberately placed there to do us all harm, so I cannot love him. He is not my neighbor, but I will obey the Bible. I pray for Obama to be out of office as soon as can be managed, and to be blocked from doing anymore harm to us, but even so, not as I would have it be, but as Abba wants to be.

On the other hand, Adonai gives comfort each time I want to kill the varmint, and helps me to just want to knock him out of office. Or smack him once or twice, to get his attention! Abba gently reminds me that these feelings are to be fought against. So I do. Sigh!

Kill the varmint? Varmint as in pest, rodent, or vermin? Would you call him that if he was white?

Why not just lynch the nigger if he's too big for his britches? That'll learn him.

maybe it is difficult truth to receive but most peolpe in the world live with this truth and pain all thier lives. Often people in authority do not follow Christ and it is a very difficult path to submit to them and pray for them and be aware of all wrongs. But look at Daniel, Joseph, Moses and others, they walked that way and we are walking too. We must see the dangers and hear God on our part in this dark hour because only His church will be saved not any particular country. It is very painful for you my dear American brothers and sisters , I know that pain, and the answer is please remeber your citizenship is in heaven and this world is fading away with all its lusts. Be comforted, becasue now you see clearer then before what is of God and you can stand in it. when USSR was breaking down we felt such pain and hopelessness but it all led us to God and so many got saved and revived. But it causeв us to lose most of our material benefits and security. All empires fell. That is history. But the Kingdom of God will prevail.
