What a contrast between Keith Daniels and Carter Conlon........brother Frank
Contrast between Keith Daniels and Carter Conlon
We've been Praying for Unity between His Beloved.
"They were all together in one accord and then ......."
Please pray with us, all.
I doubt you will hear a better sermon on this subject which has caused men to follow men for hundreds of years, dividing and seperating and piting one against another. There is a unity coming and it will be for men who have Jesus and the Word of God as their pre-emminence.....brother Frank
The Scriptures are the key..., as Brother Keith has shown us.
"What saith the Scriptures?"
"And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape.
And ye have not his word abiding in you: for whom he hath sent, him ye believe not.
Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me." John 5:37-39
Oh Lord! Please work something in the Church, something sublime, something wonderful, something that hasn't been worked in many, many centuries now.
Oh Lord! Protect the Conference. Break through hard hearts. Work mightily in the midst. God bless and protect Brother Keith for his courage and integrity to bring such a message.
Oh Lord! Help us and guide us now. Helm me! Amen.

Yes Lord! In the Greenock conference we prayed much against ancient walls of division that kept brothers and sisters apart and their eyes off Jesus. This subject this morning is one such wall. Brother Carter Conlon is a good representative of the other ancient wall, that of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, another great division that keeps mens minds and hearts off Jesus. Brother Keith mentioned with rightful shock how men have written books against D.L.Moody, there are many men who have hated brother Conlon and Times Square church because they are believers in the gifts of God. Tear it down Lord, use brave men to stand up and let the light of God touch it. There will come a time shortly where all brothers and sisters will stand together, the remnant, as Keith mentioned this morning, and they will stand in unity as the enemy makes his last stand against the poeple of God........brother Frank

Lord may something good come out of Atlanta.
As I listened to Carter Conlon preach what I consider to be a message from the throne, I wonder if people get it? Perhaps some can tell me? Its interesting to me, coming on the back on many threads, inculding head-coverings, what the brother shared. Brother Brian Long shared on our prayer call a very similiar message a few weeks ago,and the very song that brother Conlon shared, was the hymn that brother Brian used, let the lower lights be burning. Are you a light to those who are lost in darkness, it is this heart that the Lord blesses to see His glory fall.
On a conference on the fear of God being the missing element, brother Carter Conlon declared that the missing element of revival is the Love of God. I believe this to be totaly true. Praise God for this message.......brother Frank
He read Matt 25 about the sheep and goats and I can't picture doing any of those things without Love... "though I give my body to be burned....."
Frank, I have to agree with you brother, and I'll take it a step further. After Carter Conlon spoke, there really was nothing more to say.
I honestly have no idea what Keith Daniels was talking about either....
I did not get to hear Carter Conlon, if anyone knows when and where his sermon gets posted, will you please share that me?
Thank you so much!
Lisa

Hi brother. Yes, I believe that brother Carter gave the definitive message on the missing element of revival today, the supernatural love of God. We know that in the last days the love of many will wax cold. Yet, as the example Carter gave, this supernatural love comes in encounter with the Lord Jesus Himself, as the woman who sat at His feet who was forgiven much and loved much.
Carter delivers a rebuke as well as it can be delivered in my opinion, I saw him do this five times in Greenock as he challenged the local church. Now, whether people listen or not is another matter. Carter says that the Holy Spirit must be asked for, that just cuts through the theological arguents of what it means to be baptized in the Holy Spirit. He talked of people being bankrupt of the heart of God. He talked about perfect love casting out all fear. He talked about people seeking God but refusing to enter in and then surprised at no revival. He talked about studying not being the same as ministering.
He stated emphatically that this generation will not be won by conferences, arguments and theology, and of course he is correct. He spoke of Proverbs about those who condemn the just. He also spoke of the religion that focuses on how a person is dressed and a people who have no joy. He said that he started in the Spirit and did not want to finish religious, an obvious reference to the " foolish Galations." He said that faith without love is no faith at all. He said that the unrighteous see the unrighteous ( meaning the pharisee sees the sinner) and the righteous see Jesus. He said that we do not have a legal relationship with God but a love relationship with God.
So brothers and sisters, it was undoubtedly a rebuke to those who have ears to hear what the Spirit says........brother Frank
ps Keith was talking about Calvinism versus Arminism
I have just finished listening to Carter Conlin's message. At times I was shouting to Jesus in praise. At other times I was on my knees weeping. This brother has brought a timely message from God to our generation. The question is will but in humility embrace that message of Jesus loving all people through us
If anyone has not done so please listen to this message. Please listen with a humble and open heart. You will shout. You will weep. But be prepared to be changed if you will but let his Spirit do so.
Lord Jesus. I ask that we ei be your willing vessels for you to love all people through us. In your precious name. Amen.
Blaine
I believe brother Frank's was a good summation of Carter Conlon’s message. Amen to the spirit of Brother Blaine's comments as well.
As for Keith Daniel, he did speak about “Calvinism vs. Arminianism”...
To explain:
When Calvinists and Arminians agree to work together, they usually also agree to NOT bring this long-standing disagreement between them up. It was VERY unusual and incredibly bold for Brother Keith to do this, in such a venue as that.
Augustine:
This rift within the true, believing Church of Jesus Christ has been with us for more than sixteen centuries now. It actually goes back to the days of the late 4th century Latin Father Augustine. Augustine, (Bishop of Hippo in Roman northern Africa), was evidently a brilliant intellect, who also said a lot of good and Biblical things. Unfortunately, and to the great sorrow of centuries, he also did not seem to be aware of the earlier Greek-speaking Ante-Nicene Fathers, nor the Greek New Testament, and was responsible for introducing several novel doctrines into the Church that have divided us ever since...
For example, Augustine was the first writer we have any knowledge of who taught Christians that they could join with the STATE in persecuting other Christians with different opinions. He was “reacting” against the Donatists. Again, as a “reaction” against the “Pelagians”, Augustine was the first we know of who taught an unconditional election of individuals to salvation,(and thus as well, the absolute, unconditional security of the believer, (which was a change of his opinion from his earlier writings on the conditional security of believers.)
Thus, Augustine emphasized and began to solidify for the first time a system of doctrine that is found nowhere in the earlier Greek-speaking Church fathers, nor, it is argued, is such a system found in the inspired writings of the Greek-speaking apostles either.
The REFORMATION:
A thousand years later, as a “reaction” against the Roman Catholic Church’s teaching that people “must earn their salvation through good works”, the Reformation “fathers” raised up SCRIPTURE and specifically St. Paul and his inspired doctrine of “the unmerited grace of God in the salvation of the believer, BY FAITH ALONE.” This was enough to counter this error of Rome, but to further bolster their position, they tragically also raised up AUGUSTINE and his doctrine and emphasis on “individual election” and the “unconditional security of the believer.” Then, where the Reformers held power in the STATE, they followed Augustine’s other merciless doctrine mentioned above...
All that being said..., many, many real and true Christians yet hold onto Augustine’s doctrines, as systematized by Calvin, his nephew Beza, and by the Calvinistic Synod of Dort mentioned by Brother Keith in his sermon. They sincerely believe that behind many of the teachings of Paul and other of the apostles, lies their System of “unconditional election”, “limited atonement”, “irresistible grace”, and “unconditional eternal security”, and they continue to divide the Church over their system to this very day.
Finally:
As I understand it, Brother Keith was seeking a restoration of the Church. He was seeking a restoration AWAY from the “reactionary” systemization of doctrines that the apostles clearly never systematized, and a restoration BACK to the plain, literal, inspired Holy Scriptures themselves, wherever they lead...
May God bless the reader.
Be well everyone,
Doug
Do we need to give these men "scores", on who did best?
Every Christian is different as snowflakes are and are at different places in their walks ... some Backslidden - some half-dead - some alive - so we had different sermons to cover all. It should be apparent here that everyone listens to a certain one man more than other men. We all do have our favorites - but why should we grade men that came at their own expense and gave what they do truly feel that GOD gave them. There was No Heresy this weekend- but just different descriptions of the same topic. Each one mentioned "love & fear".
What we needed after the Conference was a REAL attempt at Unity and to not say - "I am of Cephas, I am of Paul ..."
What does the LORD say about those who causes seperations - divisions?
Can we try for unity and see that we have different messages for different 'walks'? ... as it IS HIS will for His Body to be one.
No one preached Heresy this weekend. Just different aspects and sides of what should be our view of our relationship with GOD ..... BOTH Love and Holy Awe/"Fear" [as The Word calls it].
The "fear of GOD" is scriptural - 100%. Some need it more than others.
Some want only a lovey-dovey mamby-pamby Jesus and their lives show it.
And happy that Keith Daniel tried to bridge yet Another gulf between us.
Praise The LORD for all the bridge builders that we can possibly find. They seem to be scarce these days.
We are supposed to love like Jesus but I’ve come to realize that just because someone gets “saved” and studies the word that doesn’t automatically mean they receive LOVE as Jesus had. As individuals, I believe we have to WANT TO love as Jesus loved, etc.
Check me if I’m wrong but isn’t salvation is our base line? The least required to get into heaven, “You must be born again,” and “I am the door,” etc?
I ask that because the Lord led me to study the parable of the ten pounds (Luke 19.11-27) this week and it seems to me that when He returns with His kingdom He is going to expect a RETURN on this salvation (our 1lb we were given), and will we be able to lay at His feet more than He gave us?
1. As in love, mercy, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness and patience (Gal 5.22-23)??
2. And will we be able to lay any gifts at His feet that He gave us? Did we even ASK for any?
The parable of the ten pounds have stuck into mind, I do not want to be an enemy of God (Luke 19.27), not being able to double or more of what He has given to me. If you think I'm wrong, I can handle it, let me know.
Just thinking about my two cents.
And God help us to DESIRE to gain more lbs in this life to give back to Him on that day,
Lisa
Hi JIG,
You seem to be raising point that no one else has raised. If you actually read the posts that have been written on this thread, you will see that no one is raising the issues that you keep raising. What we have spoken of is the issues raised by the speakers. Doug pointed out what Keith spoke of, and did it very well, I took note during Carters message and posted the highlights of what he said. So, the foucs in this thread is what the speakers said, to whom, and to how we can apply it. Please take the time to look at thses posts for what they are, they are honest assesments of what was spoken by the speakers. Carter himself said that it would do no one any good to listen to his sermon seven times and be blessed by it, it would only do good if one would simply do the things that he was calling for and for that I say amen.........brother Frank
I totally agree, why would we ever want to compare two precious brothers that the Lord has seeded with His message in His way for this hour? Each part of the Body is so needed for our spiritual health. They both are beautiful vessels in the Master's hand. I recall Carter Conlon beginning his message with an admonition to be careful how we speak of the Bride. Many may not be aware of the rift in the Body of Christ because of doctrinal differences of Calvanism and Arminianism. Understanding of Church history helps so much in equipping us for Spirit led intercession. Both messages from these precious saints are vital for revival that will result in a unified purified Bride that will shine with the glory of our Bridegroom. May the Lord be glorified in each of us. Bless you all for your comments and love for Jesus our Bridegroom.
Can't we recognise "The Body as a Whole"?
We're all somewhere on this scale and not ALL in the 'perfect' middle of it - where we should be.
LOVE for GOD and all of Mankind....................|.......................FEAR of GOD
I know for a 'fact' that there were a few there, that are or 'were' not even on that scale at all.
So ALL that was preached this weekend was for someone either in the wrong place on this scale or not on it at all or that Need to learn what the Middle-Ground is and 'stay' there.
Last night I read from the JTBTV website - Articles with comments - back further than July 2010.
We, as a Body, need to find a place that is, at the least, consistent [or better yet, growing], from yr to yr.
P.S. Good post Lisa!
Brother Frank, I am only on the internet as GOD [I believe] opens an unsecured wireless connection and the two that I seem to hook up to, both say "No Signal" and have 'No bars' and when I open their properties - there's also a gold-lock in the picture of the two computers shown [especially during the daytime] and though I know nothing about how wireless works [never used it before the end of Aug - found it accidently] .... so I'm thinking that Only GOD could allow me to post at all, I believe. I don't want my own internet server anymore and quit mine on Aug 24th, because I don't want to be able to come on here on a whim.
I'm typing this offline and will post it, if I get a signal, because I prayed that He would only allow posts when He allows them and Not when I want to and I'm childish enough to believe He is in control of when I get any signal, because I asked Him to be, but do know that He is able & faithful, either way.
About your opening post --- you posted it while Keith was still talking about Calvinism - so I wondered what your title meant, when the man hadn't even hit his point yet, from what I was listening to, while at that moment, opened the forum page as well.
I am not a mind reader and only can post by my feelings because, unbeknown to you and the gang here (maybe :) - I don't have much of a brain left, thanks to multiple long term infections with Lyme, that has left me with little of what I once had. I'm disabled. Half brain dead [or more], so help me GOD - this is the truth and I stand before Him with it - though I'm sure most have noticed that I don't post along with the general flow at times.
So I'm [we're] at the mercy of whatever signals I get - in two areas and it's quite a trial of faith and patience with myself as well.
Hope you can understand why I posted what I did in my first post - in view of that Keith was just then speaking only about Calvinism when you posted this thread and hadn't reached his point yet, being only barely half-way thru.
'In Truth' - HIS PEACE & LOVE to you, Brother!
HI JIG,
I was not referring to your first post sister.......
"Do we need to give these men "scores", on who did best?"
I was referring to that post. Anyway, as I was saying, there are warnings and rebukes to be heard........brother Frank
I don't even know what the first post said, all I know is that for me it was very hard to sit through the whole message. I'm sad to say the almost the whole congregation left by the time he finished it. I'm also sad to say that I didn't understand a thing, I think he was trying to present the contrast between all those views. But I would say that it's best to preach the word and exalt Christ, only that will bring edification and revival.
Canela...I was there and didn't notice the whole congregation leaving....Also, I counted from my notes 45 Scriptures that he quoted WORD-PERFECT.....I don't know about you, but I can't come close to doing that.....
I believe his intent was to say that there are plenty of Scriptures on BOTH sides of the issue, and that the CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST ought not to be DEVOURING themselves over it....
At least that is my humble take on the message....
"all I know is that for me it was very hard to sit through the whole message."
Canela - I neglected to say that this was my 2nd time to hear the message by Brother Keith. I heard it the first time when he was in Milwaukee 2 weeks ago. I won't say I had a hard time sitting through it, but he covered SO MUCH information that I had to work to absorb it all. This 2nd time was much clearer to me. I'm sorry, I should have said that in my last post.
The title of Keith Daniel's message from off of the pdf was:
"The war with the most casualties- THE WAR BETWEEN THE SAINTS?"
I'm sorta laughing, because if anyone's been on this or any other Christian Forum long enough - they'd know this title is appropriate. Oh, Amen to that!
Thank GOD someone addressed it.
Hope it comes in handy if we all start in over it again.
:)
mama27, I was not in Georgia, we watched the simulcast in Kansas.
Thanks for clarifying....I'm sure on the simulcast you could see people leaving - he was giving his lengthy Bibliography and had already gone over into the lunch hour. But there were still most of the people there.
Keith's message was about the war that has lasted hundreds of years, if not 1700 years as pointed out by Doug earlier.
Carter Conlons message was about the Love of God being the basis for the fear of God. Lysa pointed out that she did not want to come before her God with no return for His " investment," in her and to that I say amen. He has invested in us love and mercy and grace and forgiveness. And the more He has invested the more return is required by Him. Brother Carter pointed out that those who have been forgiven much, love much, as it should be. How horrendous to come before the King of Kings and to find that we, who were forgiven such a great debt, went out and demanded repayment from those who " owe," us a much smaller debt. This should instill a righteous fear into anyone who has experienced the forgiveness of God. When He could have judged us, He forgave us, yet so often we refuse to forgive others. All who know the Lord want to hear these words " well done good and faithful servant." We want something in our baskets to present to the Lord, we want to hear these words.
And so Keith talked about one ancient battle that needs to have no place amongst believers. Can I tell you the other, in my opinion, ancient battle? Its the dividing wall between those who believe in the power of the Holy Spirit and those who do not. Call them cessasionists, call them what you like, but obviously Carter Conlon, brother David Wilkerson and Times Square church are very much in the camp of baptism in the Holy Spirit and the sign gifts. When they came to Greenock, that town had never experienced such an outpouring of love. Salvations were seen every night in a town where if even one person got saved it is big news. It takes the power of the Holy Spirit to penetrtate the hard hearts of men. Peter, speaking with this power, saw three thousand religious people come to Jesus. He did not even need to give an alter call for they cried out " what must we do?" These are people that Peter had just accused of crucifying the Christ. The Scriptures say that they were "stabbed in their hearts," the Greek word being "Katanusso." It means to violenty agitate, to thouroughly penetrate. This word is even stronger that the word used in the Scriptures to describe Jesus being stabbed by a spear, that word was Nusso. So we see how powerful this word is. Are men speaking today with Katanusso power? Had not Peter just been Baptized in the Holy Spirit? They had to wait there in the upper room until they were endued by power from on high. I have heard brother Carter and others speak with such power, the power to penetrate the hardest hearts of men. If Christendom would cease to fight and seperate over this issue, then I believe we would see a remarkable move of God................ brother Frank
Did not Carter say in his message if we are debating doctrine then we are not doing the will of God? Frank I think you have said that if we are debating doctrine we have too much time on our hands. If we were doing the two great commandments of love of God and love of neighbor, we would not have time for this other nonsense. But then Sermon Index would probably go out if business...chuckle.

Why preach the same message word-for-word two weeks in a row? I do not know this brother but to me that would be like serving up day-old-bread to the sheep instead of fresh manna from heaven daily.
Perhaps, I just don’t understand and I apologize for not understanding.
God bless,
Lisa
Lysa, he was preaching to different meetings....I didn't say the sermon was word for word, but that his quoting of the many Scriptures was word-perfect. Though the messages were very similar.
I have listened to half of Carter Conlon's conference message tonite - it was similar (so far) to the message he had given the previous Sunday at Times Church - showing the love of Christ in order to win people. I do believe God can put a burning message in a preacher's heart - one that he is compelled to share wherever he goes.
"Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever." Hebrews 13:8
"...What does it avail to discourse profoundly of the Trinity if you are devoid of humility...Surely profound words do not make a a man holy and just; but a virtuous life makes him dear to God. I would rather feel contrition than know the definition thereof..." (T. A kempis)
Kieth Daniels, did he not speak of men who can discourse so profoundly?_ and so fiercely depend their religion?
Carter Conlon, did he not speak of men,who really represent and do the works of Christ?
The doctrine of grace, for the glory of God, they are but can be just wonderful statements:
"Look at the heavens, and see; and behold the clouds, which are higher than you.
If you have sinned, what do you accomplish against him? And if your transgressions are multiplied, what do you do to him?
If you are righteous, what do you give to him? Or what does he receive from your hand?" (Job 35:5-7)
...That we will rather abhor ourselves and repent in dust and ashes.(Job 42:6)
Isa 58:2 Yet they seek me daily and delight to know my ways, as if they were a nation that did righteousness and did not forsake the judgment of their God; they ask of me righteous judgments; they delight to draw near to God.
Isa 58:3 'Why have we fasted, and you see it not? Why have we humbled ourselves, and you take no knowledge of it?' Behold, in the day of your fast you seek your own pleasure, and oppress all your workers.
Isa 58:4 Behold, you fast only to quarrel and to fight and to hit with a wicked fist. Fasting like yours this day will not make your voice to be heard on high.
Isa 58:5 Is such the fast that I choose, a day for a person to humble himself? Is it to bow down his head like a reed, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? Will you call this a fast, and a day acceptable to the LORD?
Isa 58:6 "Is not this the fast that I choose: to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the straps of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free, and to break every yoke?
Isa 58:7 Is it not to share your bread with the hungry and bring the homeless poor into your house; when you see the naked, to cover him, and not to hide yourself from your own flesh?
How often has the Arminian vs Calvinism debate come up in all the years that we've been here?
As it has on every Christian forum out there, that I've seen.
It needed to be addressed, because it's been a very sad division.
Some of us experienced quite a blessing this weekend, from Carter Conlon, to Mark Case, to David Ravenhill, to Edgar Reich, etc - besides the discussion panel on Leonard Ravenhill ... and many of us experienced great joy and felt a lot of love - even in the wedding - but this thread and a few others regarding this whole past weekend, has robbed the joy right out of some of our hearts.
I sincerely do not believe that Carter Conlon's love would have reacted as some have. I live in NY and have been to TSC and this is not the same spirit I felt there, nor the spirit that I've received from Pastor Wilkerson for the last 35 yrs.
All the arm chair experts, while others are out in the field around the world.
Some very sad things have been said and a lot of good things that should have been said about what happened this entire weekend went unsaid. Do we expect these men to be GOD?
They were just giving the best that they could on the topic - almost thanklessly.
How must these folks feel, that were there this weekend, seeing the very few positive responses over it all? Do we care?
I really do doubt that Carter Conlon wants this much praise at the expense of others "in Christ" that gave it their best, regarding the subject matter of the conference. I doubt he's looking for anything but us loving each other, including all that were at the conference. I feel we've failed what his message was all about, in more ways than we realize.
i pray that we will take note of what john weasly thought of the calvnist whitfield
i see people here are just causing agrument
between the two doctines
what i kick in the teeth , regarding unity in the body of christ
i love how cater conlon preaches , tho i dont agree with alll that he believes
and i love how keith daniels preaches ,tho i dont agree with all tthat he preaches
for the sake of unity brothers get over the wall
and join hands with true believes
and seek to have the understanding of our late presious brother weasly ,who rocked the world
please pemit me to say gently ,who never believed in the sign gifts
lets join under the blood
and pray for revivle
1. And, first, let us keep close to the grand scriptural doctrines which he everywhere delivered. There are many doctrines of a less essential nature, with regard to which even the sincere children of God (such is the present weakness of human understanding) are and have been divided for many ages. In these we may think and let think; we may "agree to disagree." But, meantime, let us hold fast the essentials of "the faith which was once delivered to the saints;" and which this champion of God so strongly insisted on, at all times, and in all places!
2. His fundamental point was, "Give God all the glory of whatever is good in man;" and, "In the business of salvation, set Christ as high and man as low as possible." With this point, he and his friends at Oxford, the original Methodists, so called, set out. Their grand principle was, there is no power (by nature) and no merit in man. They insisted, all power to think, speak, or act aright, is in and from the Spirit of Christ; and all merit is (not in man, how high soever in grace, but merely) in the blood of Christ. So he and they taught: there is no power in man, till it is given him from above, to do one good work, to speak one good word, or to form one good desire. For it is not enough to say, all men are sick of sin: no, we are all "dead in trespasses and sins." It follows, that all the children of men are, "by nature, children of wrath." We are all "guilty before God," liable to death temporal and eternal.
3. And we are all helpless, both with regard to the power and to the guilt of sin. "For who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean?" None less than the Almighty. Who can raise those that are dead, spiritually dead in sin? None but He who raised us from the dust of the earth. But on what consideration will He do this? "Not for works of righteousness that we have done." "The dead cannot praise Thee, O Lord;" nor do anything for the sake of which they should be raised to life. Whatever, therefore, God does, He does it merely for the sake of His well-beloved Son: "He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities." He Himself "bore" all "our sins in His own body upon the tree." He "was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification." Here then is the sole meritorious cause of every blessing we do or can enjoy; in particular of our pardon and acceptance with God, of our full and free justification. But by what means do we become interested in what Christ has done and suffered? "Not by works, lest any man should boast;" but by faith alone. "We conclude," says the Apostle, "that a man is justified by faith, without the works of the law." And "to as many as" thus "receive Him, giveth He power to become the sons of God, even to those that believe in His name; who are born, not of the will of man, but of God."
4. And "except a man be" thus "born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." But all who are thus "born of the Spirit" have "the kingdom of God within them." Christ sets up His kingdom in their hearts; "righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost." That "mind is in them, which was in Christ Jesus," enabling them to "walk as Christ also walked." His indwelling Spirit makes them both holy in heart, and "holy in all manner of conversation." But still, seeing all this is a free gift, through the righteousness and blood of Christ, there is eternally the same reason to remember, "He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord."
5. You are not ignorant that these are the fundamental doctrines which he everywhere insisted on. And may they not be summed up, as it were, in two words, -- the new birth, and justification by faith? These let us insist upon with all boldness, at all times, and in all places; -- in public (those of us who are called thereto), and at all opportunities in private. Keep close to these good, old, unfashionable doctrines, how many soever contradict and blaspheme. Go on, my brethren, in the "name of the Lord, and in the power of His might." With all care and diligence, "keep that safe which is committed to your trust;" knowing that "heaven and earth shall pass away, but this truth shall not pass away."
6. But will it be sufficient to keep close to his doctrines, how pure soever they are? Is there not a point of still greater importance than this, namely, to drink into his spirit? -- herein to be a follower of him, even as he was of Christ? Without this, the purity of our doctrines would only increase our condemnation. This, therefore, is the principal thing -- to copy after his spirit. And allowing that in some points we must be content to admire what we cannot imitate; yet in many others we may, through the same free grace, be partakers of the same blessing. Conscious then of your own wants and of His bounteous love, who "giveth liberally and upbraids not," cry to Him that works all in all for a measure of the same precious faith; of the same zeal and activity; the same tender-heartedness, charitableness, bowels of mercies. Wrestle with God for some degree of the same grateful, friendly, affectionate temper; of the same openness, simplicity, and godly sincerity; "love without dissimulation." Wrestle on, till the power from on high works in you the same steady courage and patience; and above all, because it is the crown of all, the same invariable integrity!
7. Is there any other fruit of the grace of God with which he was eminently endowed, and the want of which among the children of God he frequently and passionately lamented? There is one, that is, catholic love; that sincere and tender affection which is due to all those who, we have reason to believe, are children of God by faith; in other words, all those, in every persuasion, who "fear God and work righteousness." He longed to see all who had "tasted of the good word," of a true catholic spirit; a word little understood, and still less experienced, by many who have it frequently in their mouth. Who is he that answers this character? Who is the man of a catholic spirit? One who loves as friends, as brethren in the Lord, as joint partakers of the present kingdom of heaven, and fellow heirs of His eternal kingdom, all, of whatever opinion, mode of worship, or congregation, who believe in the Lord Jesus; who love God and man; who, rejoicing to please and fearing to offend God, are careful to abstain from evil, and zealous of good works. He is a man of a truly catholic spirit, who bears all these continually upon his heart; who, having an unspeakable tenderness for their persons, and an earnest desire of their welfare, does not cease to commend them to God in prayer, as well as to plead their cause before men; who speaks comfortably to them, and labors, by all his words, to strengthen their hands in God. He assists them to the uttermost of his power, in all things, spiritual and temporal; he is ready to "spend and be spent" for them; yea, "to lay down his life for his brethren."

Quote: "but why should we grade men that came at their own expense and gave what they do truly feel that GOD gave them"
1 Corinthians 1:10 Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that You All Speak The Same Thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
Adding my two pence.
Keith was calling for Christians not to be divided over these doctrines, to which I agree wholeheartedly. I call for all those opposed to the Baptism of the Holy Spirit to lay down their opposition and to work hand in hand with their tongue speaking brothers and sisters in Christ. Do not let pre-conceived notions keep you from walking with people that you know to be good brothers and sisters in Christ. You dont like a certain kind of music, you think it is too emotional, put that aside and work wholeheartedly with people that you know love the Lord our God with all their hearts.
These are not hypothetical situations brothers and sisters, I have personally witnessed this, this is a major wall between good brothers and sisters even in SI circles. It has caused much disunity, and had done much damage to the cause of revival.
I call on all brothers and sisters to put these notions to one side, unless you believe that those who walk in the sign gifts of the Holy Spirit are not walking in the Holy Spirit at all, and then I would just say, be honest then and say that........... brother Frank

"I call for all those opposed to the Baptism of the Holy Spirit to lay down their opposition..."
This was one of the things David Ravenhill touched on in his Malachi message.
It was a very good word.
