LEONARD RAVENHILL SERMON QUESTION

M

I was just listening to Leonard Ravenhill's message on "Choosing Rather to Suffer".....he mentions a preacher he met "40 years ago in Wales" who preaches at a Bethesda Church in North Ft. Worth (Texas)......who preaches on Tuesday mornings at 10am what he "cannot preach in his church" and says we should listen to him sometime.....BUT he never mentions the man's name that I could tell.....Does anyone happen to know who he is referring to?

Thank you so much...

This would be interesting to find out. I wonder if Ravenhill's biographer knows? Anyone here have contact with someone in Texas who knew Mr. L. R.?

It was most likely Pastor Des Evans. He was at the Bethesda Community Church 1976-2011. www.desevans.com . I did a google search with his name and there is a site that says "about us" Also find sermons by search~ Des Evans sermons~. One says Books of the Bible by him. I certainly will want to listen to any that Pastor Ravenhill suggested.Thank you.

I just added one message from this speaker to SI:

Here is a quotation from that message:

Every time you ask for faith, you will be asked to commit yourself to it. The hearing of the word, the continuation and development in the hearing of truth, will depend upon your commitment and conduct to the last expression of truth. The church [or the believer] can stop the flow of revelation simply through disobedience. In Noah’s case it would have been obvious if he didn’t listen, if he did not commit himself to do what the Lord had told him; he would have drowned with the rest. ”“Des Evans
I added the brackets because he was not just talking about churches but also individual believers, like Noah, so it applies to both. I'll add this to the quotes thread, also.

Hello brethren,
After listening to a bit of his sermon on "Poor in spirit', I realize it needs to be heard a few more times to sink in. Deep stuff.
Thank you for mentioning him.

He mentions Leonard Ravenhill, I do not know if he was present in the congregation or not?
