The SUPERBOWL! The worship of Babylonian Mammon at it's height.

S
sermonindex

Each year the decadence and the extremity of lewdness increases, as the most watched television event on Earth unfolds for what it is.

It is not about sport, though sport is involved, the same way that the Colosseum was not about sport, but about lust. Over One Billion people will watch today's event, and the ads cost a whopping Three-and-one-half million dollars for thirty seconds.

Madonna, a purely immoral Jezebel-sex "goddess" will perform the half-time celebration. Expect Satan and lust to be glorified....and it is all justified as a blessing of the American Dream...you know...God and country, apple pie and Football.

Nubian full figured dancers will cheer, and the roars of the worship cheers of the Crowd, inside and out, will be heard for ten miles or more. This is worship, and the God is Mammon, and it is all about the right for each soul to do as they will, and satisfy what they want.

My question is; "How long will God tolerate this in your face...[ God's Face.] insult? I fear, not much longer. At some point soon, the back of the camel breaks. It did in the time of Noah...to everyone's rude surprise. God is alive, and He sees.

He is sickened at what He sees, when he watches the adoration and commitment that American families have made to wicked idolatry.

I took my grand kids and their parents to Indianapolis last summer for the 4th of July celebration. We rented a nice hotel for a few days, and I hoped for leisure and connection to my family. While there, I was approached by a group of video-packing "students", with Turkish Passports.

They said they were studying the city, for cultural reasons. In our conversation, Allah was somehow brought up, and they wanted me to consent to the fact the Allah, and Jesus....were the same God. I did not, of course, and vocally preached Jesus as one and only God.

Something rose in them, that was beyond rage; It was fanatical, and for me, their cover was blown. I think they were radical Islamist Scouts, searching for a way to kill by terrorist acts.

The first thing I thought of was the Superbowl. Midwest; sprawling, easily accessible; soft target; and crowds in the millions and millions! Bigger by far than any INDY race by three or four! My son, who is not a believer, without any prodding by me, called the FBI and reported them, he was so disturbed at this confrontation.

It would not surprise me if we saw a terrorist attack there. I am not prophesying this, but I believe it's coming, sooner or later. We worship Mammon, and the lusts of our bodies has become a right to pursue as entitled LIBERTY, and God must judge it.

What would I do if this happened. Grieve. It would sadden me greatly, for innocents will suffer, and die. But, in the End, I must fall on Jesus's side, and say Repent towards Him, and receive and believe Him.....Wrath is soon coming....I can feel it.

PS: I like football...but I'm a little grieved right now.

Brothertom:

The world does what the world does. When the world does things that are sinful it is simply the fruit of sin that is in the world. The super bowl is, if you compare it to the entertainments and "sports" of the Romans during Paul's time, pretty mild and remarkably "clean" (I use that term loosely and comparatively).

I do not have anything against enjoying football, baseball, or any other sport for that matter. I listened to the World Series on radio this year and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was perhaps the most exciting week of baseball I have ever seen.

I think the problem comes when enjoyment of a sport transitions to a form of idolatry. It is an issue of the heart, and it take the Holy Spirit to reveal to us when we are in that state, but there are many believers who begin to compromise their walk with the Lord to go after other things (of which the super bowl could be just one example). For example, the advertisements that are allowed to air on TV can be pretty sexually suggestive. To speak plainly, many of them are pornographic. These ads do not always air, and perhaps during the super bowl there were none that could be classified that way. But is it worth watching if I might have to feed my mind this material in the process. We also spend, as a church, very little time in the word and in prayer. I see a great lack of maturity in the body of Christ in general where the word is concerned. How much time do we have to spend in these entertainments when we spend almost no time in the word? I think these are questions a believer needs to ask himself. Does God care if I enjoy a football game occasionally? Speaking as one who has absolutely no interest in football I must say no, God does not mind me enjoying an occasional game. Does God care if I devote myself to that pursuit so that it causes me to be weak spiritually and weak in the word? I think the answer is self evident. By the way, Igniter Media has a video called "Idol Worship" that is pretty interesting.

I am in the minority, these games and other games have no power over me. I do have my lusts as every man has some sort of a lust tucked away whether it's currently being used or currently being put under, it's there. Good wholesome food is my god, and I bathe in it's bounty.

I like what twayne said in his opening post, that the world is the world and the world will do what the world does, rebel.

We as believers really have no business lusting after these "other things" and no different from my over indulgence of delectable food stuffs.

Mark 4:19 And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.

The danger that we all fall in and use as a crutch to continue doing what we do is we throw in some salt to the mixture to make it more accetable to the hearers. We say things like, "so and so player is a Christian and he ministers to his team mates" or, "Christians minister to one another or to unbelievers while the game is being watched".

It's like the majority of so called Christian musicians. They are first and formost, entertainers. Their living is to entertain. If we worship God through their music than to them that is just a perk, but God is still on the backseat, they can't make any money in just doing what God wants, they have to entertain us to make money. There are a few music groups that rely solely on moving God's way and doing what God wants. If it feels good we call that the anointing. If that is the barometer for spirituality then I can name a lot of worldly songs that are quite uplifting that make me feel good. I digress.

We give all kinds of reasons to watch "the game", as I have give my reasons as to why I need that second helping. Why can't I just have a standard bowl, why does it have to be a salad bowl or worse a Super Bowl.

There are a lot of men that think that by being a man, you must love sports. Then I must be a pansy. I personally will enjoy any sport if I am right there. The last time I saw a sport was live hockey, I loved it. But that is where it ends. I can't watch it on Television, I'd rather watch Gone With the Dog.

I think we lose out spiritually though. Why isn't God our joy?

I remember a time when I was so filled with joy that this world had no attraction. There was nothing in this world that had an attraction that took me away from being with Jesus all day. Even at work, Jesus was my joy. At play, Jesus was my joy. When I'd see Christians debating over scripture, it grieved my spirit. When I'd see Christians going to the movies, it grieved my spirit. When I'd see Christians laud their favorite preacher/musicians/guru, it grieved my spirit. Today we find every excuse going to keep our lust alive because we have replaced His Joy for this beggarly one.

What will it profit me if I gain weight?
What will it profit me if my team wins?

What is our reasons and why do we run to them when someone steps on our lust?

Our reasonings are not good reasons. We give them so that we can keep our lust. We don't want to know God's will because that means taking away what we enjoy the most.

I know people that suffer in their body and when I offered prayer for healing they refused - I am talking Christians here. They refuse because if they were healed then they would lose their health benefit cheque. They are nurturing a fear.

I was talking to a Sister the other day who relies on her husband as the bread winner and to take care of her because she is not able to do some things and when he was having health problems, she pulled out her, "God don't love me" speil. She has a fear of being abandoned. When I told her that she is calling God a liar, she continued saying it. She is nurturing a fear. I could say that to her because she knows better being a prayer warrior.

I am using these examples as to how far we will go in offering a reason for the things we do, even when the reason is balantly wrong.

Lusts and Fears are not that different. One is the need to be satisfied the other is the need to be kept, held. And both work together.

M

how about just allowing God to judge such instances and circumstances. He uses all things for his good, and while we do not know what they produce, but if it were not were team sports, the gap of racism and hate would not be bridged.

Sports brings people together, let us not be so radical that we are of no earthly good or sense. Im not implying that of any of u, but we must be careful how we judge or how we see a thing.

In the original post, I wanted to make it clear that this was not an attack on Sports. I played sports much in my youth. I think of England's C.T.Stud, who as a young man played Cricket as well as anyone in England, and became very rich through an inheritance.[ about 21 yrs.]

He dropped it all for the call of God and spent the rest of his life in the Mission field, and died there, at around 70.

My reference was to the worship of it all. It has become a religion to many, and entertainment that transcends life. The flavor of it becomes more and more raunchy each year....and I'm alarmed. I see judgment coming. A Nation that defies God at every sensual corner, but devotes so much to increasing glory at the alter of Mammon.

Agreeing with BrotherTom.

Believe it or not, good can come from that evil display - that good is the Grace of our Lord is displayed for allowing more time for them to 'fill up' their sins, "or" to finally accept His free gift. The Power of God Almighty will be displayed in crushing it all when he comes.

Certainly the world and all it's lust and idolatry are always on display during major sporting events. Did anyone notice that in Egypt this weekend almost THIRTY people were killed when riots erupted after a soccer game? Soccer, for crying out loud.

But... I've read on here and on some blogs all kinds of condemnation heaped upon sports and super bowls etc today. I find it kinda funny that a lot of those writing these things today were singing the praises of Tim Tebow a few weeks ago. I wonder if as much would be written if Tebow and the Broncos were in the game last night?

There were Christians there on both teams, they just dont get the spotlight that Tebow gets.

There were some there who were there to honor God. Instead of complaining about the world acting like the world is supposed to act... hows about we pray for those who were there giving their all for God on the field, and those who were handing out tracts outside the stadium... and all the other ministry opportunities that arose out of the Super Bowl being in Indy.

Just a thought.

I guess to be a good Christian I should just stay in my closet. I guess I should never eat, because someone will have an opinion on my choice of food. O and no TV for sure, I might see a commercial with a woman wearing a pair of jeans, and on and on and on, yes I am sure this is the life the Lord wants us all to lead. It would take a complaint box the size of the Astrodome, to hold all the complaints that most Christians would fill out in one day. :)

Our participation in many things is something we will always have to consider. I caught the last half and I wish looking back that I had turned off the commercials completely. Funny as some were, there was a dumbing down from those that were not comical but lewd. With my boy there, it was up to me to censor what was shown. Looking back, I did not do a very good job. We will struggle to be in the world, as Ambassadors for Christ, protecting ourselves from what is done in the flesh so naturally. What are often appealed to are the very things we are about crucifying when we die daily.

I do wonder if any Christians attended the arena before they became actual participants?

Sometimes I think we believe our level of spirituality is measured by how dramatic or loud our rants are.

It was a football game attended by a crowd of unsaved people for the most part. What did you expect? God honoring praise and worship? Did anyone expect anything out of Madonna other than what you got? (we turned it off at half time... we do that every year)

Yep... there is a lot of worldliness and idolatry on display. So dont watch it. Or do like I do and start the game late and fast forward thru the garbage and watch it for the GAME. Or simply dont watch it at all.

Every year it's the same conversation about the Super Bowl... kinda like the annual Christmas debate. We get it, and we ALL agree, with the exception of the game itself (which is what I watch) everything concerning the SuperBowl is worldy and idolatrous.

Thats why I cut out as much of it as I can.

But please stop acting surprised by the behavior of the world. If last night shocked you then you need to get outside and hand out tracts or preach on the corner... do something to take the gospel to the world. Because let me tell ya, if you are living out the "great commission" and trying to reach the lost for Christ... then nothing about last night surprised or shocked you because you've already seen it first hand anyway.

It just so happened that I went out to eat during the super bowl - and as the LORD would have it, I was given a dim view of what was being televised in the large plate glass window that faced the street. If I wanted a clearer view of what was happening, all I had to do was look over my shoulder.

At my first glance I was impressed by the cinematography - a crystal clear image from a dramatic viewpoint. Football players filled the screen. As I was eating, I noticed extreme flashing on the screen and glanced over my shoulder to see an equally crystal clear image of half naked people doing all sorts of lewd things.

From the table next to me came the cough of a little girl and I cringed, wondering how her parents could let her watch such things.

As the show progressed, the screen will filled with darkness and I turned to look again to find what appeared to be some kind of satanic ritual as all of the people on stage were draped in black robes. My final glance came when Madonna disappeared in the smoke and my heart sank as another little girl kept saying over, and over "Madonna disappeared!" - her little heart in awe for she had just seen a miracle.

As I left the restaurant, I met the mother and one of the little girls as they returned from the rest room. She was the sweetest looking little girl - a soft glow of innocence seemed to just flow from her as she stumbled and coughed along the way - and my heart broke as I considered what she was soon to become.

"They did not destroy the nations, concerning whom the LORD commanded them: But were mingled among the heathen, and learned their works. And they served their idols: which were a snare unto them. Yea, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters unto devils, And shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan: and the land was polluted with blood." - Psalm 106:34-38

The shocking thing is that a few years ago you would have to go to a dirty movie to watch this, but today it's normal. Light is dark and dark is light. It is consuming and devouring every corner of society...and we have already fulfilled prophesy here in America.

"And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.

For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies."

America substituted for Babylon is a perfect fit, and it is becoming darker every day. We worship the satanic life.

Here is the problem with sport in general. No matter how good you are, there is only ever room for one winner, everyone else is a loser at some level. No matter how good you are, or how evenly matched, all except one, will lose in the end. The funny thing is that often (usually rather) the best team doesn't win. Some random mistake(s) not normally committed or freak of nature (Read: act of God) will pop up to snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory. Sport can be cruel that way, that is how I know there is no SUPERBOWL or sport in heaven, because there are no losers there.

BTW I used to play this wretched game (Praise God that only injuries prevented a pro career) and now can hardly walk because of it. What a game we invented, where large men run at each other hoping for helmet to helmet contact, while little men cheer. The eternal lessons from this were GREAT and I wouldn't trade them lest I failed to pass them on, but I still have to go through the temporal with bum hips, knees, back and shoulder.

And that's wonderful if that is your desire. What is more wonderful,if you can post this without any condemnation in your heart for others that do have a tv. IMO, when "most" Christians "not all" post stuff like this, I truly believe they have a message, the message is "you all should be good little, perfect holier than thou Christians like me". The thread is not a condemation of people watching the game but what the game has become. Most of us are quite innocent concerning what's being televised.

A week before the Superbowl, Madonna described on Anderson Cooper the spiritual importance she attributed to her halftime show:

“The Superbowl is kind of like the Holy of Holies in America. I’ll come at halfway of the “church experience” and I’m gonna have to deliver a sermon. It’ll have to be very impactful.”

While most considered Madonna’s performance as an entertaining interlude to the most important football game of the year, those blessed with symbol-literacy will probably agree with the following statement: Madonna’s halftime show was a big celebration of the Illuminati industry and of its Grand Priestess, Madonna.

That was the real message, weather we knew it or not, we freely participated in godworship. Read the full article here:

Again, the fact that a sport is played at this event is not the issue, or having, or not having a TV.

The issue is, there is a level of Babylonian pleasure being thrust upon us by the Devil that has entered our National Soul. We no longer see things with sight of good or bad, right or wrong, Godly or UnGodly but pleasurable? or distasteful, no matter the ugliness, and contend that it may be OK for another, but not for us. Everything Goes!

This was Sodom's problem, for they believed it, and to live it, one must defy God. "It'll be fun to rape these boys and watch them die!" as the two angels strolled in to get Lot." There was never one hint of Godly conscience offered, as to right or wrong, or murder and torture. It would be fun, they would satisfy their torture lust, and the entire city joined in.

When this spirit is tolerated, the numbing of the conscience begins...and soon...there is no conscience.

"Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:

"Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.".. The birth of REPROBATE.

We have had an Explosion of Homosexual acceptance, and even legal marriage! Our children are taught this from 1st grade on, and it is melded into the teaching of Darwinism that this is entirely healthy, as the rules of "Natural Selection" dictate.

Today, the marriage consummation under God is seen as frivolous and silly. Get a boyfriend, and fornicate until the cows come home.

The SUPERBOWL is simply a celebration of this spirit; INIQUITY UNLEASHED....and displays our National commitment to it, that transcends mere tolerance, into WORSHIP! Where have you seen more worship of the flesh than here....with a BILLION watching?

I hear ya Krisp; and I also believe pride is built into our old-natures as well by Adam's fall.
I can see children competing for their father's love. Now, I don't know if that's what you meant, but regardless, I can see that.
I compete against myself in a few ways - I examine to see if I'm growing in grace in a certain area daily (ex: am I responding in the flesh when someone vexes me, or am I using that as God's means to humble me, and thereby responding in thankfulness and rejoicing).
I also compete against myself in the gym - I see how my body reacts to the program I'm on, and if not, make required adjustments.

S

...or by man's fall.

Your boys compete because they are fallen, just like we are.

Just because something is inherent in our natures does not mean we should attribute it to God. With original sin comes the seeking of continual improvement, (man trying to raise himself up to God). Because this improvement can only be relative and not absolute, it causes competition.

I had to chuckle at your last post. I hope to God that no one thought that I was condemning anyone in my post. Certainly not in the least. When it comes to sin, I am chief.

However, there was once a time when all of these distractions were as nothing. They meant nothing. There are so many flavours in Christ that there is no reason to taste anything else.

I watch television like most of you do. The commercials are worse than the program and I have to always turn my head or just have the program guide ready as it covers the whole screen which is a pretty good feature. So I am not more than you.

Just like you all, I long for a deeper walk with our Lord. And I feel in my spirit that God is working on that so that we can desire Him in a greater measure. And it will be just like Paul said that these things that we have in our lives today will fall away with the using.

The television is no innocent "thing," to be used or not used at one's whim. It is a snare. There are frequencies and messages imbedded into the programming that are designed to break through any barriers that you might have to the information.

What you think that you are not "partaking of" is actually being written upon your very soul. And while you may think you are only watching a program, it is actually programing you - and one of the things it is telling you is to not to listen to the likes of me.

Who said that Television was innocent?

Whenever I have prayed for the Church to wake up, the Lord always points His finger at some thing in my life.

It's like the husband that prays, "Change my wife Lord". Instead of Him changing his wife, He changes the husband. He puts us through such rigorous testings. Television is the least of my worries. I don't excuse it, but it's not an issue. I personally don't have cable in my home.

"Wake THEM up Lord"

If your awake your in revival. "Awake thou that sleepest and arise from the dead and Christ shall give thee light". If your awake, you have light to spread around. Revival is in every step you take. Every where you walk people should be responding to the light that is in you. Believers that are awake, sinners will fall down on their knees repenting without a sermon. Healing and miracles should be a regular thing in your life. If this is not common place for you, your probably not awake yourself. Therefore your cry would be,

Wake US up LORD!

For some time I have wondered why talking to some Christians is like talking to a blank wall - and now I know why. They have been hypnotized and can no longer hear truth.

Blank walls indeed, great post!!!

There is no better brainwashing tool than a unidirectional audio-visual bombardment, completed in the TV. You see/hear/learn what someone else wants you to. Sure they give you a remote control so you can pretend you have choice, but in reality it is just bombardment from different angles. We refer to it as the one-eyed hypnotist. :-)

I visited my Granddaughter at her home 2 days ago, and Ellen Degeneris was, [the famous recently " married " lesbian comedian] on the tube. My granddaughter stopped talking to me in the middle of a sentence, her eyes grew wider, and she froze in wonder, staring at some skit. She was literaly hypnotized like an ice box.

It was the freeze gun effect that you might see on a Star Wars movie. So, I'm done at my house. The cable people just carried off my TV connection box 20 minutes ago.

Next, I'll tackle the internet connection. How did the early church make it without Google?

I posted this thread before kick-off of the Superbowl, and wanted to re-post because the thread has digressed into a TV? or not? thread..which has it's merits. However, there is a satanic encroachment happening today in every area of our society; an IN YOUR FACE rebelliousness glorifying wicked demons, and their doctrines.

THE SUPER BOWL was just a worship service. This was my point, and so, the Re-Post.

The SUPERBOWL! The worship of Babylonian Mammon at it's height: by Brothertom

It did in the time of Noah...to every-one's rude surprise.

Good for you brother, I admire your stance.

"when your on the worst evil of all ever known to mankind "the Internet" :)

I believe the worst evil is a man's heart. A heart that has not been changed. The internet can be harnessed and used for a greater good. With man, you can train him, educate him and do all that can be done with him to make him of some reputation and he still will follow his wicked heart.

I don't excuse the internet. When the internet came out in the 90's I had a real problem with pornography. It ruled my life. Now by the grace of God and having put my body "under" it's used a whole lot differently. The desire to go to those places are not there anymore. Before the Internet came around, I used to go to other places around town, when the internet came it made it a whole lot easier and the fear of looking over your shoulder and hoping that no one was watching ended. Then I learned later that God was looking over my shoulder and that frightened me all the more which caused me to take action on my actions. I was aware of His presence and I didn't like the idea of being in a pigpen and Him standing there so I had to make a change. The decision to change was the only thing that I could do, the rest He helped with considerable grace. I even had to ask Him for the strength to reach up for help, it was that bad.

I enjoy the internet like it's a community. It's the only place where I can "talk right" through my hands because speaking wise I am not good at. Yes, there is a world of evil on the internet, but I can choose not to go down those streets. Many years ago when I was much younger I visited a big metropolitan city once, practically on every corner was a peep show. The big city overwhelmed my small town soul. I walked past the first one rebuking it in the name of Jesus, and on I went in that way. But then I got weak and went into one place which was a den of iniquity. Later that evening I went out and spent the whole night in a house of ill repute. I cried unto the Lord to save me and He did. I walked out of there and cried when I got to my small town, having been so happy to be away from such evil only to find out that I had only left the big city, the evil staid with me when the Internet came along.

The Internet and Television are not quite the same. I can choose to watch or read my content, I can scroll, I can even program my browser to not show pictures or grahics of any kind. On the Tele it's graphics all the way. And yes, talk about digitially writing on the soul.

It's like someone telling a joke. I hate hearing them because the allowing of it imprints on the mind and it causes one to retell it and I hate that. The same thing with a bad image. Recently I gave myself to hearing a 9/11 caller on youtube who was in the south tower and as he was talking to the operator the tower fell and the distress that was in that man's voice was awful. I can't imagine such horrifying situations. The hearing of that staid with me for days.

This thought came to me about an hour ago, after being burdened all night at work over another post - "God isn't in to competition, because He has no competition."

Edited - I wanted to add that this doesn't mean He isn't humble and longsuffering, patient, kind... But who can compete with the Lord Almighty? Who can not only compete with His power, but His beauty? Everything about God - even with taking in wretched, hell- deserving sinners and granting them eternal life here and now? Blows my mind!

When I think of television, or the Internet, I think of the common maxim, "THE EYE IS THE WINDOW OF THE SOUL."..both in, and out.

It is true. Who you behold is who you become like. This is at the bottom of praise and worship. When we behold Jesus, and His face ours, we are exposed to His love and light and are changed. When we behold dark sinfulness, we are stained.

Both of them, the Internet and TV, are promoted by commerce. Ads, charges, and profit dollars either make, or break you...maybe in the larger sense. Consider Facebook's 70 BILLION dollar worth, or GOOGLE's 90B....or any News outlet...or Christian Forums...Ads...that pay for the airtime and salaries and profits.

We, as Believers, are in the World, but not of it. Money, and commerce are a necessary fact of life. In itself, it is ambiguous...neither good or bad. The Internet is an information highway that also may be neither good or bad. It is neutral, like a pistol in your hand. Guns don't kill people, people do.

TV has news and facts, but is primarily an entertainment facility. The Internet has exploded that concept exponentially...and has opened knowledge AND ENTERTAINMENT into new horizons that have created a new, FLAT WORLD...more than ever was....and is the closest thing to the tree of the KNOWLEDGE of good and evil as there is.

The issue with God, is Who do you worship? Your heart; either consecrated to Him, or loving the World and the flesh that rules it. This was the original intent of this thread, along with a dread that spiritual lines were being crossed over...and I am alarmed. Remember Babylon, and her worldwide influence, and her four sins.

"And they did not repent of their murders or their sorceries or their sexual immorality or their thefts."

A walk with God is not just in our mind; our perceptions and opinions, it is how we conduct ourselves and whether or not we "WORSHIP HIM, IN SPIRIT AND IN TRUTH." What I see is Babylon being worshipped up front, in your face, with all of these four sins promoted with vigor.

This is how I felt about the super-bowl and Madonna. Soon, Babylon will fall, and she is so ingrained in our culture, that America will fall with her.

"The SUPERBOWL is simply a celebration of this spirit; INIQUITY UNLEASHED....and displays our National commitment to it, that transcends mere tolerance, into WORSHIP! Where have you seen more worship of the flesh than here....with a BILLION watching?"...comment BrotherTom

I didn't watch the halftime show with Madonna...but I was amazed and shocked as I perused some news sources just how prophetic my comment was. Madonna was actually worshipping Satan in a ritualistic fashion.

The link below is clean enough to read, and may be Christian:

I had a TV in my home in 1951, age 2. We had 3 channels, and it went black at midnight. God's name was never taken in vain, all of the women wore long dresses, and the only kissing was a peck on the cheek.

Today, actual Pagan , Satanic ritual is performed with the most vile intent, and accepted as the norm.

Yo quote Bob Dylan, "the Times, they are a changin'."

The Super bowl is a celebration of the 2 best teams in American football. Then it invites companies to product the best commercials at the steepest prices to get peoples attention. These are the essentials of it. Now, tell me what is worse, the Super Bowl or an ocasion such as Mardis Gras?

During the Super bowl I did something I have never done before. I Followed twitter and found a combination of feminists as well as others making their voice heard by critiquing commercials and proclaiming if they will buy it or not. Well, it doesn't take long me for me to see how twisted the thinking of some people are with some commercials in their interpretation them. Yet, the whole thing became a sort of cultural experience for me.

I know many in the church poo poo the Super Bowl and especially since it is on Sunday evenings and so on. Yet I find the correlation, many times, that those who speak against it usually are not sports fans at all and so they speak out against it.

Deadn - you can find my testimony of how Jesus delivered me from being a sports fanatic at my blog, and a recent struggle I had with it. There is a great video of David Wilkerson preaching on the subject there too.

I definately can't say I am a sports fanatic. I love college football and some college basketball but I don't do the fantasy sports stuff. Not interested. I love to watch college football and see a few basketball games, especially if Florida State is playing. I listen to some sports radio but only enough to be in the know of a few things.

My younger brother does the sports fantasy thing and showed me how it works. Although it looks like a fun thing to engage in it seems to me it takes up too much time to deal with. Time that I would rather spend reading something such as sermonindex or listening to some kind of talk radio.

I will read your blog........

Really the Superbowl, The Play-off championship of the most popular sport in the richest Nation that ever was in itself, is not evil. I've enjoyed sports and played them, and have been a fan, I suppose.

My reference to evil was how much the Mammon Worship was apparent, and how increasing wicked up front, in your face Demon worship was increasing. I wrote this post before kick-off, sensing demon worship in the half-time show.

It happened, in spades....just like mom, apple pie, and the flag....Now lets worship and honor the devil.

It's now a normal part of our culture, and it's getting worse every day. It's shocking....We are now living in the days of Sodom, as a Nation.
