While I agree with the general thrust of what Mr. Conway is saying here, I am uncomfortable with the question "Is There Any Possibility That I Might Be Lost?"

For those of us who are not perfect (which is everybody, by the way) and who measure ourselves by God's holy standard, the answer is surely always going to be yes.

This is why one needs to make their calling and election sure. Salvation is not measuring yourself up to God's Holy standard as though you can achieve it but recognizing that you have fallen short of it and need the mercy and grace of the Lord Jesus Christ. Salvation is the gift of God's grace to the believing sinner who places their faith in the finished work of redemption in Christ. We must know we have passed from death unto life. We must know by the Spirit He has given us. He gives us this assurance of eternal life by His Spirit dwelling within us. If any man have not the Spirit of Christ he is none of His.

2Corinthians 13:5 "Test yourselves to see if you are in the faith; examine yourselves! Or do you not recognize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you—unless indeed you fail the test?"

Examining your own salvation is not only necessary, it's Biblical. We may go through times when our faith is weakened but silencing the exposing of our hearts is not the way to strengthen faith.
