Rush on Chick-fil-A: The target is Christianity

S
sermonindex

Radio giant Rush Limbaugh says the ongoing national dispute over Chick-fil-A’s stance for biblically based marriage is nothing short of an attack on Christianity as a whole.

“Now Christianity has to be banned, and that’s where this is all headed,” Limbaugh said this afternoon on his top-rated program. “All this stuff at Chick-fil-A, the target is Christianity, not Chick-fil-A. The target is freedom of religion. [With] Obama and Obamacare, the target is always freedom. When we’re talking about liberals, the target is always freedom.”

Chick-fil-A’s president, Dan Cathy, has come under heavy fire from homosexual activists since he said he supported the biblical definition that marriage is between one man and one woman. ...

I would caution discernment listening to Rush Limbaugh. The gist of what he says is true. But this man has spoken out time and time again against the followers of Christ. And now the popular conservative thing is to appear sympathetic to Christians.

The likes of Rush Limbaugh, Glen Beck, and MIT Romney are wolves in sheep's clothing. They are used by Satan to deceive the elect if possible. They are to be avoided.

Saints we need to use discernment in these times. Many servants of Satan are masquerading as agents of righteousness.

Bearmaster.

I have to strongly agree with Bearmaster. Rush Limbaugh is a "god" in my home....his 3-hour radio show plays out loud during the waking hours here....YES - MUCH OF WHAT HE SAYS IS TRUE and accurate.....HOWEVER he is an angry, foul-mouthed man without the Lord. He is fighting the wrong battle of conservatism rather than Christ, and he has a considerable following. Psalm 1 tells us as believers NOT to walk in the counsel of the ungodly.....Radio talk shows are such a sneaky and crafty deception of the enemy as I see it....I believe revival praying must include prayer against such deception which seems "good" to the masses....

S
Solomon101

Bearmaster,

You stated

But this man has spoken out time and time again against the followers of Christ

I am neither agreeing or disagreeing with you in this post. I am however requesting that you give specific places , links, documentation, and proof as to the accusation you have made.

If you can not produce the documentation and proof of those things you accuse then you should retract your statement and apologize for it.

Unsubstantiated attacks on people are character slander at best.

Again, you may have those specific links, details, and references. If so then plain old fashion manners and character demand that you include those in your post. If you do not already have them then you should totally refrain from attacking another person.

I have not listened to a Rush program in probably 5 years or so. However, did you notice the quote that the original post included.. let me reemphasize...

Rush stated

the ongoing national dispute over Chick-fil-A’s stance for biblically based marriage is nothing short of an attack on Christianity as a whole.
“Now Christianity has to be banned, and that’s where this is all headed,” Limbaugh said this afternoon on his top-rated program. “All this stuff at Chick-fil-A, the target is Christianity, not Chick-fil-A. The target is freedom of religion.

That is perhaps the most concise and accurate assessment of the situation I have seen or heard. Do you really feel justified to attack someone shining the light of reality on that situation? I certainly see no attack on Christianity there by Rush. I see a defense of it and a attempt to help others see these things as they are... rooted in a spiritual struggle. The realty is that there are forces that attempt to remove expressions of faith in Christ from the marketplace of life. Rush does not in any way appear to be one of those. He is shining the lights on what the evil doers are attempting. A lot more light onto the truth than many who claim to be so "discerning".

Of course if we are busy attacking other people that disagree with us we probably won't have time to consider that.

-edited for clarity and additional thoughts-

M

Solomon,

You stated that you have not listened to Rush Limbaugh in probably 5 years....I believe if you listened to him on a daily basis you would see the subtleties....as I said in my post, much of what he says is true. He DID clearly state that the Chick-Fil-A thing was about an attack on Christianity...that is true, but if you also see that his cause is against the attack on "freedom of religion"...it is a political cause.....I am sorry, but my husband has asked me to listen to him many times.....he is not talking about born-again Christianity, he is talking about "religion"....there is a distinct difference....

You say I am slandering Rush Limbaugh. I believe Mama27 has stated in her post what comes out of his mouth. Turn on the radio and listen to what comes out of this man's heart. And tell me that he is a believer in Jesus Christ.

I ask you or anybody in this forum. Is Rush Limbaugh born again? Is Mit Romney born again? Is Glen Beck born again? Are these men followers of Jesus Christ? Are they willing to lay down their lives for him.

I have seen the likes of Watchman Nee and Dietrick Bonhoffef excoriated in this forum. Men who gave laid down tbeir lives for Jesus Christ. Yet we hail Rush Limbaugh, Glen Beck, and Mit Romney as the defenders, heroes of the faith.

I am ever left in ceasless wonder.

HI Solomon,

What do you think of this quote and do you think it is concise and an accurate assesment of Paul and the Apostles.......

"These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation."

Wow, the bearer of this news should be held aloft and lauded for such sweet truth coming from her lips, correct? Solomon, discernment is needed more than ever today and especially by shephards less the flock be led into a ditch. Limbaugh is a Godless hero to a Christless Christianity............bro Frank

S
Solomon101

Bearmaster,

You said to me

You say I am slandering Rush Limbaugh

I said no such thing. I did say

So...I am only calling it "slander" if you are accusing people with no documentation, proof, or evidence to put forth except you say so. If all you have to show is a couple of people with "I say it is so" ,but no actual proof, links, or evidence.... then yes, that by definition is to "slander someone" when speaking ill of them as you have.

So... if you have actual proof then please present it. Otherwise it would be slander and should be kept to yourself until such a time as you might actually have any proof other than an opinion.

You would be furious if others accused you with nothing but their opinions. You would ask where the proof was... when and where did you say such a thing. Friend...you are to treat others AS you want them to treat you. So.. do it.

You will of course do as you see fit. We all do. However, the testimony of those who follow Christ is so looked down upon by those who do not know Him for these very reasons. Very often the doors to the hearts of the unsaved are locked to us and our testimony... and for one reason.... we have locked their hearts ourselves by infighting and slander. Our fighting in the Church is the primary cause the unsaved reject Christ...WE lock the doors and break the key off in the latch.. all because we what to launch an assault on someone who may disagree over a political or small theological matter.

Praying for revival is useless unless we are willing to have the commitment to walk in unity and humility. Why? Because God resists (stands against) the proud. That often means putting theological or political differences aside and agreeing to have unity on the essentials and letting everything else go to personal conscience.

How in the world do we think Wesley and Whitefield, who were a good bit different theologically, were able to do the things they did? Toward the latter part they expressed deep love and commitment to each other. Would to God I could see that today!

If we have time to knit pick others theology and politics then we had more than enough time to go pray. Words I believe... and will try to apply more diligently.

Blessings brother. All spoken in love. My only passionate posts on SI come when others are attacked without evidence or when I now the "proof" given was actually different that what was presented. I suppose I feel this way here. I apologize if it comes on strong...however, it is important truth.

Blessings!

Solomon writes........

"How in the world do we think Wesley and Whitefield, who were a good bit different theologically, were able to do the things they did?"

Brother, do you realize that Whitefield sent out a letter to the clergy of the Church of Engalnd stating that almost none of them knew anything of ' the new birth." This letter caused him to be banned from the pupilts, which is just as well because no church could have held the thousands that showed up to hear him preach in the fields. You see brother, given your stated logic on this thread, you would have demanded evidence for Whitfields statements and given the lack of it you would have rejected what he spoke and would have been a naysayer of the day, of which there were thousands. It takes courage to stand and draw a line and to speak out, but that is what Whitfield did and God was honored and glorified. Paul was not confused by the rantings of a spirit possessed girl even although those very rantings were, in that case, the truth. Paul exercised discernment nt and then cast the demon from the girl and the girls mouth was shut............. bro Frank

How is it pride to call the saints to be discerning??

One cannot quote Rush Limbaugh on this forum...he is full of sexual inuendos, and uses the word "hell" without understanding....

It is not attacking Rush Limbaugh or Glenn Beck or Mitt Romney to say that they are not born-again. It is not prideful to call Christians to be discerning - it is LOVE.

And in LOVE, we should be praying for the salvation of these men, just like we pray for Barack Obama. And how is it wrong to pray for revival and call the worship of political ideology a deception of the enemy?? It is sin, I believe, if we as believers fall into it....and yes - pride is also sin....

I was wondering if I might ask you a question? Do you still feel led to be involved in politics at all? I know at one time you were a supporter of President Obama but I wondered if GOD has shown you anything different, not necessarily about voting for one man over the other but in the process it self?

I hope you don't mind me asking this questions, I know it is off topic but I have wondered about it for some time now. Of course you do not have to answer this question it is just my curiosity :)

I don't vote myself(you may remember that) I do see some of those chess pieces on the board that you mentioned but will admit I do not understand it all. I think there is much in the news that is being pushed to the headlines as a way of deflecting from what really is going on. I told my DH its almost like while we are all running around upset about one thing or another the real danger is sneaking up behind us and one morning we will wake up to some really shocking news and wonder when did this happen...

I don't have time to respond to all of these side bar issues that have nothing whatsoever to do with the topic. Although I really want to as some are so out there. Anywayzzz...

Let me return it neat, clear, and clean to my one and only actual point.

Bearmaster said

But this man has spoken out time and time again against the followers of Christ.

I said if you make that accusation against a person you have a responsibility to give the evidence, links, or proof of it. As a Christian you can't just throw that at people with no proof whatsoever.

Apparently many here disagree with me as that is the only issue I raised and it is completely dodged.

So...I take my leave of this thread. If you can of good conscience think that to accuse people of, "speaking time and time again against the followers of Christ" ,without a shred of evidence to back those accusations, then by all means.. carry on with that ethical standard for your life...I guess.

Bearmaster..or any others..as you have accused a person of

this man has spoken out time and time again against the followers of Christ

and there does not seem to be anyone who can find any evidence of it. I suppose you will have to decide how you feel about people accusing others when no proof or evidence exists for what they say except perhaps biased opinions. How will you feel when that standard is turned upon you?

Carry on.... as I am sadly certain some will.

I have not listened to Rush show in years, and when I did listen it was very seldom but in that time that I did hear him speak I have not heard him speak against Christians or say anything that could be consider as speaking against Christians. Personally, I do not see that Greg is giving approval of Limbaugh's radio program per se, but merely pointing out that here is a secular radio broadcaster who is seeing the same things we Christians have been saying for a long time. And then how is it that if secular folks see this issue coming down the pike but Christians are blind to it?

This is my perception of Greg's reasoning behind this OP. Quoting him in no ways endorses his philosophy. At least this is the way I understood it before reading the responses.

In the past I have listened to Rush a lot when we could get him on the radio, yes, Rush and Dr. Laura. I have learned a lot from listening to Dr. Laura as I did Rush. But this in no way meant I endorse them. I know what it does to a person who listens to them religiously - it ain't healthy spiritually. But I would listen to them occasionally just like I would read a secular columnist. This is all they are, secular. It does one good to have a faint idea how their minds work so we may be aware what we are up against when we talk with the public.

My opinion.

I

I agree ginnyrose - I didn't take it that Greg was endorsing Limbaugh just pointing out an article...

Put it all together and you have...

Yes, as a recovering conspiracy theorist and cynic, there is a connection here, saints.

I have no political perspective to withhold here, for "Christ is Lord, to The Glory of The Father" - but in the meantime...yes, Christian persecution is going to infect the North American waters at some point and unfortunately, the Golden Arches will not be going down with us.

Chick-fil-A was always a rebel with a cause in the Fast Food chain. McDonalds has always been fiercely envious of their "waffle fries" recipe, which have slowly over time undermined the opiate dependency power of their "french fries" like the 1st century Christians did to the Roman empire.

What I am saying here, is, have we not seen this coming? Do we really expect a Christian fast food chain to survive what is to come?

It's people like Rush Limbaugh that are used to get these types of messages across. There is a difference in him speaking against Christ followers and sticking up for Christianity. We have made the world think that we are no different than they, why wouldn't they say something against us? We've given them hate instead of love, we've given them reasons for not listening to Jesus Christ through our liberal actions and carelessness.

We say the same thing when we find out a preacher has run off with his secretary. We run him down, make jokes about him, and say that he was never a believer.

People like Rush are doing a good thing standing up for religious freedom in this country and so what if the other day he said something against some preacher.

You know, it's voices like him that cause trouble for Washington, and if he can garner enough support a lot of these bills that they want to pass are stayed because of these types of people.

Luke 16:8 ..... for the people of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light.

I say let him be, he is doing a good turn by speaking up.

G
ginnyrose

There is one more thing about Rush.

He knows that if Christians are silenced, when they can no longer speak out on what they believe to be right or wrong, he could not either. He knows which side his bread is buttered on.

The freedom to speak one's mind is one treasured by most Americans. Conservative Americans relish this right. Liberals like it as long as people agree with them but hate it when people contradict them - this just is the reality.

What does this have to do with a body exercising his faith? A lot. You should know that - the freedom to speak on perversion is being challenged, called hate speech - but never mind them calling Christians bigots or worse, that is not hate speech, you know. Now go figure, if you can.

In any case, this is what Rush sees and understands. When Christians will be silenced it won't be only us it will include a host of others. No dissent will be allowed, speech will be censored.

Is this idea not one that has been lamented on here frequently? Sure it has, so why do you not give Rush the liberty to say the same thing?

C
ccchhhrrriiisss

"Even a broken clock is right two times each day."

I am not a fan or listener of Rush Limbaugh, Glen Beck or other pundits on either the right or left. Nor am I ignorant of the things that they say or believe. I also understand that we shouldn't throw out the proverbial "baby with the bathwater." Just because they might be abrasive or even wrong in many instances, it doesn't mean that everything that they say is wrong.

In this case, Mr. Limbaugh is correct. The attack on Chick-fil-A has meandered from an attack upon the views of the CEO of the restaurant into an all-out affront upon the teachings of Jesus Christ.

In fact, if you actually look at the message boards and news reports about this, there is a subtle or, often, overt attempt to link "hate," "bigotry," "intolerance" and "homophobia" (some of the Left's favorite angry slurs) against Christian teachings of the Word of God. Most of the comments left in those articles are all-out attacks upon the Christian faith.

Obviously, discernment is needed when we listen to ANYONE. This goes for pundits, others in the world or loud, over-zealous believers who too quickly pronounce the conditions of those in either the Church or the world.

I don't care if Rush Limbaugh or anyone else draws attention to it...because it is still true. The stage is being set for this world to not only turn their backs on Christians and Christian beliefs, but to begin treating us like we are a cause for the world's problems and lack of unity.

Now, the world, up to this point, has largely dismissed the faith but respected the rights, morals and conscience of those who are believers. However, the faith has been under an increasing assault where the world feels that "bad" is "good" and "good" is "bad."

Over the years, there have been groups that have endured terrible persecution. Historically, Jews have faced demonic persecution at both the hands of the world's pagans and even some supposed yet false "Christians." This intense and evil hatred has come at individuals who claimed to hate them for what Jews have "done" -- but, in reality, it was due to the status as God's chosen people.

Now, we are the spiritual children of Abraham that have been grafted into the vine. What makes us think that we will avoid the persecution and hate from the people of this world? We will be hated for who we are (the Bride of Christ), what we believe (the teachings of Christ) and our refusal to embrace those things that are contrary to God's Word.

As someone said, the pieces are being set up for Satan's final affront upon this world. He knows that his time is short. Satan's intense hatred for God and the children of God will be reflected in the hearts of the people of this world.

It is interesting that many individuals are beginning to recognize this attack on the Christian faith. When I discuss the issue of "homosexual marriage" with the people of the world, I tell them that it is simply one group attempting to infringe upon the clear conscience of another. They have painted it as an "equal rights" issue. I point out that the redefinition of marriage is less about "equal rights" than the redefinition of a legal contract and forcing others to accept and acknowledge it.

The Left's desperate attempt at redefinition of "marriage" has far-reaching legal ramifications -- including when a [Christian] business or person hires or is forced to extend benefits to some homosexual individual's "spouse." It also can eventually hurt the "free exercise" of a person's faith when a believer is forced to keep quiet (or face legal ramifications) when the issue is brought up at church, in a business setting or with co-workers.

While they continue to argue that it is an "equal rights" issue, I point out that it is a definition issue. Just because someone has "equal protection" under the law, it doesn't mean that they are "equal" in specificity. For instance, the law says that high school girls are "equal" to high school boys, but public schools still provide separate bathrooms, locker rooms and even athletic teams based upon gender differences. In this case, marriage is based upon gender.

So, on a legal plane, this is certainly a direct assault upon the Constitutionally-protected "free exercise" of a person's faith as activists on the Left try to push a desire as "normal" on a majority of Americans who do not see it as such. Yet, as Mr. Limbaugh points out, it is also an attack upon Christianity. You can't help but see EVERY discussion of this issue result in atheists, homosexuals or Liberals who point the finger at the Christian faith and dismiss it as "hateful," "bigoted" and "homophobic." Yet, their blinders don't allow them to see how the truth is just the opposite. Christians are being persecuted for faithfully following the teachings of their faith. Sometimes, individuals in the world are willing to stand up for the truth in one area or another.

Rush Limbaugh is simply observing a political move in National Consciousness, and his observation is that it is: ANTI-CHRIST. Opposite of Christ; opposed to Christ; the negative counterpart against Christ.

No doubt, Rush is lost, but interestingly, he is a Deist, as many of our founding fathers were also. He sincerely refers to God at times. I agree with him, on this highly charged boycott, that back-fired, as directed toward the church of Christ, as Anti-Christ; against Him.

I look at almost every agenda of the current Obama administration, and everything they exalt, as anti-Christ. There is something more tough, a "fifth column" so to speak, a ghost army, embedded in a variety of associations; who war against the spirit of Christ; and the tide is on the rise!

I think of NOW, Feminists touting Abortion and Lesbian superiority, the NACCP, various homosexual organizations, Hollywood charities, the "ACT-UP" crowd, and on and on and on in America. The idea is that you have no one to point a finger at...because they all meld in together, and there-by a few, may conquer many....the "moral majority that IS the born-again church.

We all know that this is but a sprinkle from the clouds before the Hurricane ploughs. The HATE is beginning, and the flood is coming. It is simply prophecy fulfilled,as it comes.

I suppose Chris was referring to me as the loud mouth overzealous believer who pronounces judgements. Ok. So be it.

In the early days of some of his radio programs Limbaugh was heard to speak out against those evangelicals who would disagree with him.  However my googling cannot find reference to these programs. My guess is internet was not around then. So these things cannot readily readily be gleaned as they are now.

It appears now Limbaugh is the friend to the evangelicals. So I will retract the statement about him speaking out against the people of Christ.

But do I regard him as a born again Christian? No. Though some may choose to call him brother. I do not see any evidence of conversion. A google of his life will show that.

The sad fact is. I see some in this forum who will give credibility to Rush Limbaugh. Even Glen Beck. But excoriate men such as Dietrich Bonhoffef or Watchman Nee who gave their lives for Christ.
Yet Rush Limbaugh, Glen Beck, and Mit Romney are the ones using the evangelical right to their own ends. In the end the joke will be kn the evangelicals. But they are too blinded by their worship of right wing ideology to realize it.

This is the price one pays when a believer loses sight of Jesus Christ and thinks the thousand year reign of Jesus Christ will begin in Washington D C. To some revival is a triumph of conservative IIdeology. Not a moving of God's Spirit.

And we wonder why we do not gave a true revival in our midst.

13 For you were called to freedom, brethren; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.

14 For the whole Law is fulfilled in one word, in the statement, “YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.”

15 But if you bite and devour one another, take care that you are not consumed by one another.

Hi mama,

This is the second thread in a few weeks that have been posted in this vein, both threads were hijacked by people posting slanderous comments about people involved in conservative politics. I could care less about conservative politics but would like to point out that slanderous rumors and innuendos about ANYONE are simply not acceptable regardless whether the untruth pertains to a believer or unbeliever.

Just getting along for the sake of getting along and letting this blatant sin go unchecked in this forum would be a form of acceptance of the behavior. This should not be.

And....when you post in good conscience, and you pray before you post, you most always get attacked....it is very disturbing....keeps you from having that inner peace with the Lord....it doesn't feel any different than talk radio with its mostly pagan people....very contentious....

I should add that there are several people who DO respond VERY graciously when in disagreement - they are a breath of fresh air....

Hi mama,

I'm writing this to make a point to you, which of the above statements was said in a 'kind manner'? Answer, ALL OF THEM! Jesus and John the Baptist could have just went their way and not said anything, but LOVE made them say something!

Dear mama, sister. I can see your heart in your words , you know your heart and the Lord sees all things. It is a good thing to to know one's own heart and to be judged by no man. It is a better thing that the Lord knows all things and judges rightly..............bro Frank

Brother Earl...

WHO can question the Spirit of Christ??? No one....I am not ever questioning SAYING something, saying TRUTH, saying truth as YOU see it....it is the spirit that I am upset with here....Much of it is not Christlike in my opinion..

i wanted to ponder a day before i answered your post to me, i love conversing with you via this medium, let me divide up your response. (its 0530 AM and i should be doing dishes, but in my soul, i must clarify)

I was wondering if I might ask you a question? Do you still feel led to be involved in politics at all? I know at one time you were a supporter of President Obama but I wondered if GOD has shown you anything different, not necessarily about voting for one man over the other but in the process it self?

from 2006 to 2009, i portrayed one of the most powerful polticians in the 60's, Mayor Richard J. Daley. a play i wrote that was sold out for 400 performances. i'm not writing that to boast, because that was my ministry at the time. the play was on the surface poltical, but had a very coherent Gospel message, and at the end of the day, the LORD saw fit to crush me, and not only crush me, but to open my eyes, at the brazen uncleaness of what we call "politics" today.

many many politicians would come to the play, and ask me to join them afterwards for a "drink" (my drink was a cheeseburger, fries and water, by the by) and out of respect i would go, as well as an opportunity to engage in a frank discussion on public policy, because i believed in the concept of politics as SERVICE, SERVANTHOOD.

i was swiftly disabused that such discussions were on the agenda. When i would attempt to start such discussions, eyes would glaze over, or the the conversation would devolve into the realm of money, power and votes.

Money, power and votes...and then, they got onto the subject they really wanted to talk about......'hollywood', which i had very little interest in discussing, but out of respect, humor them. It was all very disheartening and brought me to the point, where i saw little difference between the republican party and the democratic party....to me, it had all become UNCLEAN, and not even worthy of any discussion.

Was i a 'supporter' of President Obama? no, but i voted for him in 2008, because i did not want Senator McCain to have the nuclear 'football' anywhere near him, especially with Governor Palin a mere heartbeat away from possession of strategic launch codes. That was THE prime reason for my vote.

in 2012, i've come to realize the President is just another servant of empire, of babylon. He continued and even ramped up the defense policies of President Bush. If anyone is under the impression he is 'hostile' to the military, all one has to do is look at the defense budget, or peer into the numerous drone strikes, or consider the 'arab spring' the toppling of Qaddafi, and now the "rebellion" in Syria, all these are American intel ops from start to finish.

consider the NDAA, which is the patriot act on steroids, and absolutely gives muscle to what President Bush started, the shredding of the Consitution.

what i really find most heartrending is akin to this false fence that's been erected in America, both in the secular and in the Body. In the Body, its a fenceline drawn BY MAN, 'the social gospel' versus the 'salvation gospel'...its a LIE, there is only the Gospel, but like a fog, men in their confusion and earthly lust for power or acclaim, have perpetuated this lie, and this includes pastors from the limp mainline protestant churches all the way over to what can be termed "evangelicals".

so within the 'church' itself, you have divisions based on such an unclean endeavour as politics, 'mainlines' dovetail with this false construct of being "left leaning", by giving covering to homosexuals in the pulpit, or neglecting the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, and subsequent indwelling of the Holy Spirit, speaking of a REAL INTIMATE relationship with Jesus...its all neglected, but they do speak of care of the poor, the fatherless, the widow...at the same time, the "evangelical" church, is being used by that equally false political construct called the "right wing". Oh yes, the 'evangelical' church will have altar calls, inviting seeking souls to apprehend the Reality of Jesus and Him Crucified, as well as encouraging all followers of Jesus to read the Word of God, which is GOOD, blessed....but at the same time, under this banner, another false construct, they will take up hot button conservative issues, unaware they are being used by the republican party, which will give them lip service on abortion....'lip service' because if they really wanted to deep six abortion, that would have been done YEARS AGO....but they dont. i know why, but i wont speak of it.

they will go after "gay marriage", because its an easy target, they will go after food stamps, another easy target, they will wax nostaglic over the genesis of this once Republic, and speak of how our founding fathers REALLY wanted a stealth 'theocracy', and its just the 'godless left' standing in the way of such 'bliss', when indeed the intent of founding fathers was that we DO NOT form the "Church of America", as they had been privy to the hell unleashed when a nation state forms a 'national church'.

now i regard this whole "chick fil-a" imbroglio as just diversion in a highly scripted play, and some of the actor cast in this hellish discourse are men like Rush Limbaugh or Glenn Beck.

i was driving to family reunion in Eagle River Wis with my son, and we were flipping thru the radio dial, and here comes Rush, and out of those speakers poured bile, hatred, diviseness, self righteousness...just everything unclean and unholy, and the most terrible sin, using the Economy of God to forward his political scripting.

so as i'm not misconstrued, while at a friends house, they had MSNBC on, and i had the unfortunate occassion to listen to the script that Rachel Maddow was spewing forth, as well as the hell of listening to Bill Maher....

Now, is it permissible?...yes, but it is beneficial? no.

as God revealed to me, its all the spirit of babylon. outside of MAYBE a half a dozen "issues", what difference is there between Democrats and Republicans?...very little because they both are at the behest of two forces, both relating to worship of money, the golden calf, which is idolatry.

the first dread force, they pay allegiance to is the national security state, fore it is this "power center' that calls the shots, and behind that is the military-banking-petroleum-prison complex.

forgive me for speaking in earthly terms, but this is the whore of babylon, and it seems to me, a spirit of madness has overtaken the land, so much so, that crying out to God in my grief, He gave me two simple words, "flee babylon".

that doesnt mean i leave America, it means that i regard all the machinations of babylon as unclean and hellish, and to be regarded as vapor, vanity, unworthy of any participation in...

sometimes i see a day, when either two things happen (out of many) either you will see the "church of america" configured, and that will be a haunt of demons, with their minions who sally forth with hands soaked with the blood of the saints...or Christianity will be outlawed, as well as private Bible ownership.

though those days will be trying, they will be GLORIOUS....i dont know if i'll still be here to see them.

as far as "news" thats not out front, there's a concrete holding pool, 100 feet in the air, held precariously by a mish mash of poles and supports, in this pool, at a place called Fukushima, is about (IIRC) about 1100 tons of highly radioactive materials. Should this pool collapse, in say an earthquake, it will be as if full scale nuclear war had been unleashed. We also have a drought, which we KNOW, but whats not talked is that of the 5 main grain exporting regions, ALL are in some form of distress, and thats just two of a dozen global mightmares not making it into this "script"...which is why i regard "Chick-Fil-A" as mere diversion.

But God is VERY MUCH in control, and i praise His Name, because He saw fit to hide me in my own Kerith Ravine, which is why i havent been posting as much.

To be alone with Jesus is a Wonderful Blessing, neil

An herein lies much of the problems, in my view, on this forum. Some see what bro Neil sees and some totally and with malice, are violently opposed to this view. And, never the twain shall meet. Yes indeed brother Neil, " flee Babylon." This cry will only grow louder, and be more opposed, as we move forward and the Lord's return draws ever nearer. May the eyes of Christendom be opened to see what approaches and indeed " flee babylon." ...........bro Frank

Greetings Neil
Thank you so much for replying to my question. I did worry for a time that I might have offended you by asking and I was all set to come post again but then I prayed about it and just felt the Lord leading me to leave this in HIS hands and then here you are this morning posting and not at all offended! I am so thankful :)

As I read what you shared there were several areas that I found myself in agreement.

Neil writes:the LORD saw fit to crush me, and not only crush me, but to open my eyes, at the brazen uncleaness of what we call "politics" today.

I like Rush, but I have that right, and I don't think any of us have perfectly clean closets to be talking about Rush. Yes it's the norm, folks can try their best to say or do something good the majority of their lives, then someone will come along and just remember the bad in that persons life. In my opinion, Rush has done more good to help this nation as a whole than bad, and you folks bashing him, is it ok if I look in your closet?

I love this scripture, but it will go unnoticed by some here.

"You brood of vipers, how can you who are evil say anything good? For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of." Matthew 12:34 (Christ Quote)

To my knowledge Rush Limbaugh never claimed to be a Christian. He is delivering daily news in a manner that holds the listeners attention, albeit, dramatic and at times irritating to some.

A person can believe that there is a God and not be a Christian, and sometimes be used by God. Reading the Bible illuminates many stories substantiating this; Pharaoh allowing the Jews to leave Egypt to make the plagues stop; the people of Gerasenes begging Jesus to leave their town after he delivered a man and 2,000 demon filled pigs plunged over the cliff; and even the demons believe in Jesus.

Remember how God used Oskar Schindler to save many Jews during the holocaust? He was neither a servant of God nor Jesus.

While I'm not privy to God's opinion of Mr. Limbaugh, or his eventual status in the afterlife, God can and does use whom He will.

The Mod's point seemed to highlight the fact that even a worldly person can see the dangerous writing on the wall for the Christians in America, how much more so should we who have a relationship with the Lord and study our Bibles?

Let's see this thread as a microcosm of the disarray that exits in the Christian church, fall to our knees and repent. God may use an unsaved person to assist us during the tribulation.

PS: I ate twice at Chik-fil-A, and I don't normally eat fast food :)

This thing with chik-fil-a has scared a lot of people in the audacity of it all, especially the Free-marketeers, and the moral conservative right. The Conservative right just happens to be where the Churches moral backbone sides with. Christians believe that the promotion of a Sodomite lifestyle is wrong, and evil. It is never brought up that we love the sinner, yet hate the sin.

It is interesting that the Homosexual community will ban a former "Gay"..[ the furthest thing from gay..], who has believed in Christ Jesus as Savior, and repented from it AS SIN, just as quick as they will ban a Conservative, family values type gay.

The tie in here with Rush, is that his moral outrage that the homosexual agenda promoted by Obama and the Socialist left, had spilled over into the realm of Economic Freedom; Free Market Capitalism. This is a watershed event! Never has a National business been banned and boycotted for it's religious beliefs. This is a first!

Rahm Emmanuel; the former Cabinet leader Obama-ite, tried to get Chik-fil-a banned from all of Chicago!.[ 15 million proper ],just for it's pro-family stance, thus creating a purely unConstitutional stab at the Capitalist's agenda. No longer is Free Enterprise acceptable unless you bow down to the Marxist/Socialist Fatwah.

To me, this is rather anti-climatic, in lieu of what Obama just did to all of our Armed forces; HE SODOMIZED THEM!. In the sense that a little while ago, the Pentagon sent representatives , IN UNIFORM, to march in San Diego, at a gay pride event!

I believe that this statement by Rush was contrived, not so much as Rush stands for family and Church, but other Conservative values; that may or may not line up with the Christian ones. He knew, that stated with his amazing skill to entertain and incite..[ the man has a genius IQ], that perhaps millions of Christians would rise up!

His agenda is America the powerful and Prosperous, and the Imperial National mindset we must maintain to keep her sitting as a Queen, forever. In a very strong sense, as Neil alluded to, America is their GOD OF GODS, and they worship her, and are devoted to her, as God. Why? She is a woman who is very rich and promiscuous.______________

"So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.

And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:

5 And upon her forehead was a name written, Mystery, Babylon The Great, The Mother Of Harlots And Abominations Of The Earth."

America may not be all of her, but surely we are part of her.

M
MrBillPro

100fold, great word!

Sometimes even Christians will not stand up for Jesus, it's nice to see, even if Rush is not a Christian that he will, and only God, not man, knows his heart, who are we to judge him? lot of clean closets here, well that seem to be the way some seem to promote themselves.
