How many times have you shared your faith with a perfect stranger in the last month?

S

My friend,

we responded to your last thread to ask you to consider not just posting one-liner questions in the forums, we want these discussion forums to be meaningful discussions, not trying to accuse or catch others in their words or responses.

The community rules are something every user of these discussions should take time to go through: https://www.sermonindex.net/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=44556&forum=13

Also in the past we deleted your account for a few reasons and asked that you would not participate again in the forums. So we would ask you to consider again to not participate in the forums here because of the problems last time when you were here.

Last time you were repeatedly posting your articles over and over. And your comments were less charitable to members, when the moderators tried on numerous occasions to share with you about these problems you disregarded them. Therefore we deleted your account and informed you why.

Robert,

As you are well aware I speak from my heart and I don't worry about offending for the cause of Christ.

No, you deleted my account because you didn't like what I had to say. I asked you if you have shared your faith with even 1 person over the last 30 days and you couldn't answer...you gave every excuse in the book... I pray these words don't ring true when you face judgment "Depart from me you who practice lawlessness, I never knew you."

How do you support people that say - Jesus isn't always the truth, or another that firmly believes - by their works they will inherit heaven - HOW DO YOU DO THAT

You have the opportunity to reach millions of people with this site and you choose to amuse them. Your afraid to speak truth because you may loose members... or your stats may go down.. shame on you and the other moderators

I came back here praying you would listen to the Lord speaking to you but to my dismay you still choose to harden your heart. I weep for these people that will follow you and your moderators who set rules and regulations like a long list of chores - knowing that its just behavior modification for the poor. Charles Spurgeon, Leonard Ravenhill and a few others would weep over your complacency.

The way you've come on here again - shows something in you that is not of Christ and that type of attitude that you give off may very well land you in jail someday but Not for "the cause of Christ".

You were not banned for asking this thread question.

Now, what is a liar?

M
MaryJane

My issue with this thread is the way the question is worded, asking "how many"... It seems like the person asking is keeping score and I just don't feel right in the spirit about that. I could go into detail about how I share here with strangers in the forum or with others GOD brings me in contact with but then that could come across as boasting and I have nothing in myself to boast of. Also I don't keep a scorecard of "how" many I share with, GOD knows and really that is all that matters don't you think? Its not about trying to prove myself to anyone its about living daily in submission unto the LORD JESUS. Some may consider my answer just an excuse to avoid the question and that is alright too :)

MaryJane,

It's amazing every time I see a response such as yours. How are we keeping score - It's not a game, this is our command - go and preach the gospel to every living creature - Is it not?

The only thing I boast in is my weakness - When we sit comfortably and say "God I know that You have commanded me to Go and preach the gospel to every creature, but I'm gonna sit here and pray. I know You have said "How will they hear without a preacher", but I'm gonna sit hear and pray..because it sure is easier to talk to God about people than it is to talk to people about God.

MaryJane, I have read some of your posts you have such a heart for God... but yet you are wavering - you okay with being the same wimpy "Christian" because you don't know how to go any further. You are being bogged down by LUKEWARM, Apathetic, complacent so called "Christians" who swear by what they say but cannot and will not give an answer when asked about their faith - don't believe me look at the word - 1 Peter 3:15 - "But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear"

Please Mary Jane I implore you - Let HIM right now stretch you, mold you, teach you, embrace you, heal you right NOW!

I pray in the matchless name of Jesus that HE does a work in your heart and enables you to take ground for HIS kingdom every day!

Um.....He is doing all these things NOW in her life.

You say that we should all get out there and preach the gospel. While everyone is out preaching the gospel, who is feeding the poor, who is tending to the needs of the Church, who is teaching, who is comforting the feeble minded, who is working in the world to be a monetary benefit for others?

When does the leading of the Holy Spirit come in?

Even the Apostles saw the great need not to involve themselves in the affairs of the Churches needs but appointed others to do that so they themselves would be given to the word of God and prayer.

They put the GREATER emphasis on the word of God and prayer.

Why?

Because that was the ministry of our Lord. He spent much time with the WORD and much time in prayer. This is the secret of the Christian life. Nothing else matters, even soul winning takes second place.

Here oh Israel, thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thy heart soul mind and thy strength, and love thy nieghbour as thyself, this is the most important commandment of all.

Gods will through the act of Jesus Christ was to bring man back into fellowship with Him, more than that, for God to live in man.

It's His will that no man should perish, but it's also His will that we obey Him.

Jesus commissioned the eleven disciples to go and preach the gospel and make disciples, He did not tell that to us. He told them that.

We must get our direction TODAY as to how He wants us to proceed.

Do you think that MaryJane and others on here haven't prayed for the will of God to be manifest in their lives?

I can tell you of a surety without asking them but knowing them through these postings that they have asked and press on seeking where God wants them to be.

You belittled prayer in your last post. The people that pray, the people we don't know about that are praying are doing more to push back the powers of darkness than any preacher that is preaching today.

The preacher is the spokesperson for the Church. They are the ones that get the heat, the ridicule, and the limelight. Paul, that great man of the early Church coveted the prayers of the saints. While he and others were hazarding their lives for the saints, chosen to stick their necks out in sacrificial love for the brethren, even to lay their lives down for the Church, they were not hesitant to humble themselves and receive their prayers for he himself in his our of need, prayed for the Church that they too would not fail.

What wonderous love, what a wonderful Gospel that we have today.

Without prayer and faith nothing gets done.

When the disciples were trying to cast out the devil out of a man they forgot one powerful element to their ministry, Prayer.

Jesus said, this kind cometh not forth but by prayer and fasting.

The prayer is to pray for the Fathers' instructions. That is what Jesus was saying to them. They were not praying, they were doing what Jesus told them to do preach the gospel, but again, just being told to do something doesn't make anyone close to God. They may go through the forms of obedience, but that doesn't mean they know God. The disciples were children in their understanding of the Lord's instructions, they didn't know any better. But after they were filled with the Holy Ghost, they understood it was necessary that they not leave the word of God and prayer because they knew where their power lies, it's not in works lest anyone should boast.

Martha was running around preaching the gospel, setting the table, getting the house ready, constantly on the go and her sister Mary was sitting at the feet of Jesus receiving instruction, receiving the word that flowed out of His mouth and yet Jesus said that what Mary discovered was the better thing.

There is a place for everyone of us and right now we desperately need instruction. We need to know a few things.

God was in no hurry when He left the deliverer Moses in the wilderness for 40 years before he was ready to be used.

God is in no hurry today, Martha is in a hurry, Mary hath found the best part.

For someone who is doing all that, I do wonder why your not in prayer instead of being on the Internet. If I was given that assignment, I'd be fasting and be up all night praying. But I include you in the prayers and love, Brother.

What I don't understand is why you are so upset? Where is your joy which comes from the Lord? You seem to have a lot of zeal for the Lord as evidenced by the "work" you have put into developing your ministry, books, websites, missions trips, etc. But, we thank God that He can see through our efforts and into our hearts.

As for your heart - it beats with a persistent passion to criticize and accuse your brethren of things in which you have absolutely no evidence. From the outset, Brother, you have been "fishing" for trouble and confusion in a venue where the Word and Spirit of God is exalted. Yet, on your webpage, you open with this commentary about the power of words, quoting Proverbs 21:23 – "To watch over mouth and tongue is to keep out of trouble" - So why are you trying to cause trouble here, Brother?

I'd like to quote the next verse in Proverbs 21:24 where our Lord warns that "The proud, haughty person, named 'Scoffer,' acts with arrogant pride".

Hence, if your bait is trouble, you will catch no fish here. We will only love you and pray for you in return. It saddens me to see someone attacking his own body. Why not focus your posts on God's Words and not your own. Maybe, then we can find something to agree upon in your strained efforts to fellowship. Again, Proverbs teaches us in the same chapter you reference on your webpage, "No wisdom, no understanding, no counsel, can avail against the Lord" (Proverbs 21:30).

KP,

The Lord hates those who cause division among HIS people, so it is never my intend to cause trouble but I have NO fear in speaking against apathy

How is it possible that this venue is where God, Word and Spirit is exalted?

when you have "MEMBERS" that say Jesus isn't always the truth, or another member that believes whole heartily that by WORKS they will earn salvation or another member that says PRAY TO SAINTS.... that's why I'm upset, It really breaks my heart to see a venue with so much potential fall by the ways of this world.

I'm sorry KP but sitting in a comfy chair writing posts that make people feel good isn't taking ground for HIS kingdom... it's complacency... it's laziness and basically those that do this are saying "GOD your not worth the extra effort"

Matthew you wrote:when you have "MEMBERS" that say Jesus isn't always the truth, or another member that believes whole heartily that by WORKS they will earn salvation or another member that says PRAY TO SAINTS.... that's why I'm upset, It really breaks my heart to see a venue with so much potential fall by the ways of this world.

_______________

can I ask you who it is that has posted these things? I don't claim to know everyone who posts here but I have never read anyone say that JESUS is not always the truth and I know of no one who prays to saints?? It seems like you have the impression that those who post here are RC I don't know anyone who posts here that is a Catholic.

(Edit: I had said that I thought I understood why you post so aggressively but truth is I don't.) I wonder why the need to come in yelling and angry??Perhaps you do not realize but your posts come off as very angry. There are many here who love the LORD and seek to live for HIM daily but you have not taken the time to get to know anyone. Perhaps if you were not so busy accusing you might read some of the threads that are not so popular, you might find that there are many seeking to live there life daily unto JESUS as LORD of their life.

Just a suggest of course you will do what you will do. I still wanted you to know that in Christ I love you and will pray for you. I realize you did not ask me to but in reading your post I feel led to pray for you...

God bless

I've read several of your posts, some of the things you say perhaps are factual, and some may not be, but one thing clearly discerned is the spirit all of it is presented in is not in demonstration of the Holy Spirit and power nor the love of the Lord Jesus Christ, but mere flesh and the plausible words of man's wisdom. You certainly have a lot of zeal but it is clear you are using it to gratify your own flesh. I'm almost sure in your mind what you're doing is the right thing, but it is quite obvious that the cross hasn't done an adequate enough job yet concerning your human wisdom, fleshly zeal and self-glory for the Holy spirit to make you useful to the Master, instead you are doing more damage than good. The cross that the Lord commanded you to pick up is meant to slay YOU, not other Christians.

I
IssacharSon

Fishn4Souls1,

If you did read something here which contradicts the Word of God or promotes some type of confusion, then lovingly address it. Sometimes the words we write or type don't accurately convey what is in our hearts and it becomes merely a matter of crossed communication. That is okay. It happens often and it creates a beautiful opportunity for discussion and clarity. I have learned so much from the saints here who have corrected my thinking or expression of faith. Listening is a gift that keeps giving, Brother.

It is evident that you have acquired the attention you've sought and perusing through your website, you have many interesting life experiences to share. Experiences which have impacted your faith and that of others. You do love Christ our Lord, it is apparent. So, transfer this love and passion that you have for the Lord to your brethren here at SI. You definitely have some gifts and talents which could be more fully realized if you expressed them in love. The fact that you have devoted an entire webpage to bring glory to the Lord is indicative that you invest a great deal of time and energy into growing your faith in Him. Though, your enthusiasm tends to run away with itself.

Your love for the Lord is evident, but let's not neglect our love for our brother. You expressed so much compassion, understanding, kindness, gentleness and brotherly affection for the men you witnessed to and shared your faith with whilst in prison. On your webpage, you wrote very humbly about how the Lord used the mustard seed of your faith to move the spirit of a "HE-MAN", as you described. Where is that gentle spirit now, Brother?

If you had related to your brothers in prison with the same harshness which you have expressed here on SI, do you think that they would have responded in such a miraculous way? The gift of faith and spirit which the Lord gave you in grace to move the men in your prison ministry is no less valuable now. Why flip the script, so to speak? The script will always be the same; God's Holy Word is the Truth. Truth in Love, yeah?!?

You don't have to "fish for souls" here, Brother. Let's be in agreement, as we all acknowledge the same Master and Commander of our faith.

Peace offering!

Love-in-Faith,

KP

After reading your words and a few others... I have a lot to learn, so in saying that I humbly come before this entire venue and ask for forgiveness. In my zeal for the Lord I have created the very thing I preach against and that is division. I just want everyone to know what God has put on my heart, but I have no excuse.

I would also ask that I be allowed to stay a member that gives a soft word that turns away wrath while gaining knowledge and growth from God speaking through fellow servants.

Matthew - I want to encourage you for posting this apology; a wise, sincere and Scriptural thing to do. I've been following this thread but have resisted jumping into it. I know from experience that zeal for the Lord Jesus is a wonderful thing, and one of the ways He conforms us to His image is by wisely tempering our zeal with Godly humility and grace. He's taught me this in my own life :-)

Brother Matthew,

You don't need any excuse, ALL is forgiven, yeah?!

Fishn4Souls1 wrote:

"In my zeal for the Lord I have created the very thing I preach against and that is division. I just want everyone to know what God has put on my heart, but I have no excuse."

Welcome to the club! You are not the only saint who does this. We all do and rely on our Master's grace and example to stay on course in following Him. Yet, you express a very beautiful impulse, Matthew, which resounds in the hearts of all of Christ's followers and that is the
desire to "want everyone to know what God has put on my heart"! Of course you do! Especially as it is soooo good what He puts on our hearts. And what a blessed spirit the Lord gave you to have such an excitement for Him! Yet, for the saints, the most exciting thing in the world, no universe, it to be used of God. And you truly have been. It shows in many ways. But you can be used here, too. You already have been.

We all have a lot to learn. Isn't that great?!? And God plans for us to use each other to learn. You don't have blow your own horn - You are in Christ - look at what He has already enabled you to do! In Christ, you have touched the souls of some of the most unreachable individuals in society, God's beloved who dwell in prison. We learn from the Lord's Word via the example of Paul's life how God houses His most prized treasures in a prison cell. These imprisoned men probably stopped listenting to the world a long time ago, but they listened to you, Matthew. Probably because you resonated the "still, small voice" of our Lord. You decreased and therefore...the most unlikely men who "don't look the part" had their beautiful souls ushered into the Kingdom.

Of course this is a Big Deal! Especially as it brings glory to God. I hope that you remain a member, Matthew. Afterall, you are certainly a part of the Body.

Will be checking in to your website. And I may even buy one of your books.

Hope to hear from you again.

Love-in-Christ,
