Saints!
Whoa, back off of each other. Is this how the church divides itself?
Lee500 and EversttoSama, I love you both immensely (and yes, I am aware that I don't know either one of you). All that I know or wish to know is what God's Word teaches me. He teaches me not to forsake any who seek the Lord (Psalm 9:10). You both seek the Lord with all of your hearts, minds and strength. This is evident. So, please do not let a small disagreement over the credibility of a man cause you to forsake each other.
If Lee500 is mistaken about following Pastor Michael, then it is up to the Lord to reveal and convict him of this. However, if EveresttoSama is misjudging Pastor Michael, then the Lord will show him his mistake and lead his heart to repentance.
EveresttoSama, I will say that the Lord blesses his saints with anointed teachers (just look at why we are attracted to this website). We hold dear to our spiritual mentors, yet God knows that they are not perfect. Imperfection does not imply ineffectiveness. If that were God's rule, than we'd all need to just shush up forever more. I know nothing about Lee500's spiritual mentor, Pastor Michael - but I do know what Lee500 has revealed about his passion to seek the Lord, hence, Pastor Michael must have had some positive impact in the life of one of God's beloved. If there is folly dwelling in the ministry of Pastor Michael, then Lee500 will be protected from this folly and only affected by the goodness which God wills to come from this ministry.
It is beautiful, EveresttoSama to see how diligently you protect your brothers-in-Christ from the potential attack of spiritual delusion, especially as you are transforming the pain from your own experience with a false prophet to fuel your passion to safeguard the faith of your brethren.
Yet, if Lee500 is at no risk from supporting Pastor Michael's ministry, then let him alone and continue to love him as you did before. Trust that, just as the Lord has delivered you from the impending harm of false prophets, He will do the same for your brother. Lee500 seeks the Lord, as you do. Remember how God's Word promises soooooo many blessings and assurances to those who continually seek Him? You are brothers-in-Christ who devote your lives to seeking the Lord. What else could possibly divide you?
Please reconcile and continue fellowshipping with us at SI. Perhaps, if the Lord ever sends Lee500 out by way of Kobe, Japan - the two of you could meet up at the "Little Nap Coffee Stand" in Yoyogi, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo to discuss the following verses listed below:
